Yes, this means we know what we're doing. Yes, this means V5.5 is almost upon us.

I'd like to extend a congratulations to our entire Development Team for doing successfully what no other Dev Team before them has. Make sure you give candy and kudos to Senkaku, Hasegawa Ren, Kami, Kane, Kekkan, Kojiki, Nakata Daichi, Sakichika Sayuri, Saga, Takayama Damashi, and Wanizame Toukai.

In addition, many of the last-minute flaws were ironed out thanks to our Beta Team of Himura Takeshi, Hyouketsu, Renjaa, and Sunuke. Give them things too.

All the information you need is in the General Info and Development Blog forums. Some of the equipment and such is still subject to some change, but...

Well. You can see it all now.

Have fun kids. V5.5 transition officially starts July 1st and will be ongoing until all the stuff is done July 31st and August 1st.

EDIT: Because there apparently STILL might be some confusion. No, there is no Plot changeover or timeskip, this is purely system and battle stuff.

Okay, apparently people are unclear on this point.

During the transition month (July) you will NEED to sell everything in your inventory. You don't have to do it right away, but please have it done for the 31st. This includes, yes, jutsu you are keeping and items that will still exist, because the actual shop items will be moved into the Refund Shop as of the 31st, and new shop items made for everything.

Yes, you can swap jutsu ranks to any new jutsu regardless of level. If there are spare ranks left over, you get a roll for each one. And of course, you need to meet the prerequisites of the new jutsu.

Hey there, just throwing this in here since it's pretty much a necessity for understanding V5.5 and how to do your transition. As it stands, in V5.5 the OOC and IC ranks will be split. That means that your rank within your village will not limit your strength as a shinobi. So, taking a Genin exam becomes a much rarer occurrence (as it is no longer a necessity to prevent forcing people to do capped rolls and ranking up and junk) and it will likely become much harder to pass. That much is up to the villages. I repeat, the villages will determine your IC rank.

Thus, what is your OOC rank? It's your jobpay, your stat cap, your ability to use jutsu, your cap on abilities, etc. The OOC ranks for V5.5 are the following:

I can't believe I have to explain how to read a chart.

Alright. To make it crystal clear.

The stuff under requirements is the stuff you need to gain the rank at the front of the column. Therefore, for A-Rank, you need to HAVE B-Rank, 1560 PL, a Level 7 jutsu mastered, and twelve jutsu total mastered. The things in the row marked A-Rank are in fact the requirements for A-Rank and not B-Rank. It means that B Rank is a requirement for A-Rank. Not that those are the requirements for B-Rank.

Seriously? SERIOUSLY?

And yes. A-Rank. AKA the one with Veteran Grade. And Special Jounin caps. Is, in fact, the Special Jounin equivalent, not that it matters anymore.

As of now people can transition to their V5.5 characters. This will include a name change and being placed in their new village. Additionally until July 31st they can RP their old character in their old village (with visitor access) as an INPC.

Until the transition everyone will be allowed to do blank jutsu training rolls. Blank jutsu training rolls must be numbered so you can swap the ranks to the jutsu you will be purchasing later. Basically this allows you to train jutsus without owning any items and this is only allowed during the transition. Please use the following format, and after the transition please state in your training which jutsus will be receiving the ranks. As always you must meet the requirements of the jutsu you will be ranking up.

Training
-Blank Jutsu 1 Rank 1 to Rank 3 (or Rank 2 depending the jutsu you have in mind).
-Blank Jutsu 2 Rank 1 to Rank 3
-Blank Jutsu # Rank 1 to Rank 3

As of this posting we [The Admin] are placing a waiting period of one month on rejected Kinjutsu applications. If your application is rejected during the pre-transition period you may re-apply one month after the date you received your result.

The current shops are having their names changed to make room for the new shops, and so we can keep the items around for refunds.

The names of the old shops will be changed to [Old (blank) Shop], where (blank) is the name of the things inside. For example, Ability Shop - Shinobi Dojo is being renamed [Old Ability Shop].

This is just a note so that people don't become confused about where to sell things.

Alright, this is a bit late because I had a bout with the stomach flu yesterday. (Ick.) But in about twenty-five minutes the shops will be stocked, and the Non-element jutsu should be up (with two exceptions) then as well. Puppet users are being asked to please be a bit patient, there was an error in the coding for some of the puppet items that we didn't catch until a couple days ago, so those'll be up shortly.

People who swapped for the jutsu 'Chakra Concentration' or 'Sexy Jutsu' should be aware there will be changes made to these, and the second may be removed entirely. I'd advise you to swap out of those to be safe.

This means that the refund rate is getting set back to 75%. Please hold off on selling your old jutsu if you haven't until the refund shop prices are altered.

Puppet stuff is now done, thank you all for waiting.

I do suggest holding off on purchasing puppets (not traps, upgrades, or jutsu) until we decide if we do in fact change weapon and puppet pricing.
