Kirigakure Ruins

Sitting in the crater of a dormant and now dead volcano, the city of Kirigakure is broken into many islands spread across a vast, frozen lake. Black sand lines the inner edge of the crater, which catch the light and cause it to twist into bizarre colors under the ice of the lake. The buildings are frozen in place, many crumbling from the weight of ice and many more standing as silent monoliths to attest to better times. A cold wind constantly whips through the streets, and the tunnels which used to go under the water to connect the islands have almost all shattered from the pressure of the ice. People remain frozen in place in the streets, unable to leave the village in time, and other things roam now in the cold. Inhuman creatures and spirits alike, looking for life to snuff it out.

Academy Ruins

The Academy of Kirigakure stands four stories tall, with an open roof. The sprawling building was one of the largest in the city in regards to it’s footprint, covering almost the entire island upon which it sits. Now the doors are forever closed, and many of the windows have shattered. The inside of the Academy is pristine, a layer of powdery snow covering the surfaces and every room orderly and organized, as if the destruction did not reach into this building. The sound of footsteps and children laughing can still be heard in the halls, and people have been seen moving through the building at all hours even to this day.

Hospital Ruins

The Blessed Isles Infirmary was one of the most advanced medical centers in the world before the freeze. Now the corridors are empty of life, and the lack of reliable power makes the maze a deathtrap for the unwary. The medical instruments have been left behind, many harmless without power but others quite dangerous if one were to stumble across them on accident. At night the lights of the hospital power on, but flicker rapidly and provide little help in navigating the confines of the building. It is not unusual to hear people screaming for mercy or choking on their own blood as you wander these halls, and all too common to feel someone grabbing at your ankle as you walk past a room.
