Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Yumiko was walking, this time, in the Black Bazaar. A ruthless place that is constantly being watched, but sometimes, negligence was added to the equation. Not a lot of people come down to this part of town, unless if they are looking for trouble. Heck, even most people from Red Light would rather avoid this place, for this is the real deal when it comes to the root of evil in a town.

He walked around, knowing that he stuck out like a sore thumb, especially since this place was also a very illegal black market. People pay for Uchiha and Hyuuga eyes. Yumiko is something more special, and he knows that they would put a price on his head for his bones. Mainly as to transfer all of his bones to their own body. It doesn't help that he has a skeletal hand.

But he was mainly here to test all of them. He wanted to see if they could all really take him on. He could already feel eyes staring at him, like a predator to a prey. But he didn't mind. This would be great for training.

He heard footsteps come towards him, at a fast pace. He pushed out bone shards from his back, and heard someone cry out in pain, and then silence. He turned around and seen the perpetrator. A guy had a kunai. Looked like he was ready to kill the Kaguya. But found bone shards all in his body now. Not even giving him a chance to live. Yumiko grunted.

"Shouldn't have tried to come at me."

“Here I thought I was the only thing they were truly interested in.” Akazukin is a rather interesting individual possessing an extremely rare doujutsu called the Tokeigan or clock eye. As much as she is aware, she is the only human to possess such a strange doujutsu. This thus makes her a prime target for people around here, but it is also the only place she can get her implants. “My name is Akazu…” She stops in mid-introduction and the hands of the clock within her eye spins furiously before returning back to normal. Akazukin takes a step backwards and an arrow goes flying before her face. “Good grief, can’t even leave me alone enough to give an introduction.” She could hear quick footsteps of someone rushing her. The minute hand moves forward and back again and for some reason in that split second she manages to get her musket that was on her back in her hand like magic.

“And disarmed.”
What seems like a clone of Akazukin suddenly appears out of nowhere. This extra Akazukin grabs the musket on her back and fires a bullet of water. The bullet knock the man’s kunai right out of his hand and the Akazukin duplicate vanishes as quickly as she appeared. The duplicate was not a clone but her traveling back and forth through time. “That was a warning shot. I suggest you leave.” The man runs and Akazukin goes back to facing the Kaguya. “Now where was I again?”

Yumiko brushed the hair out of face with his bone encased hand. He took a look at the woman before him. Her eyes seem different than that of anyone he's ever seen. And whatever she just did, kind of impressed him.

"You were going to introduce yourself. I'm Kaguya Yumiko, I guess. If you haven't figured it out, I'm a bone user."

He raised his bone hand for her to see. He seen some people starting to appear around them. "I swear, this place is worst than Red Light. But no matter. I guess we'll just have to show them how it's done."

He brought his hand up and bone shards shot out and impaled the nearest person who had a weapon. The guy died before he could hit the ground. That's when they all decided to scram out of there. Yumiko sighed.

He looked at the woman. "Do you know any place that is slightly better than this dump? One where people don't just try their luck and is found the worst?"

“Ah, quite right. My name is Inugami Akazukin.” She straps her musket back onto her back. “Bone user huh?” And here she thought it was unusual that the one person she met at the casino could feel blood. It must be some sort of bloodline Akazukin has yet to meet. The shinobi world had a ton of unusual abilities, but this one sounds quite painful. “I guess you can call me a time user then.” She figures he could probably guess that already considering the clock within her golden eye. “I agree, but that does not say much for me. I quite like the red light district. It is one of the few places I can let my guard down and truly rest.”

More enemies were gathering and she was thinking about scaring them away, but Yomiko seems to have it under control. She shakes her head as she disagrees with his methods, “This may be a seedy area, but must you take it so far?” This man had killed two people already and she has yet to kill one. “At least attempt to scare them off before killing them.” She recalls her visit to Tea country. She tried to handle the situation in a peaceful manor, but when it became apparent that it was not going to work, she killed someone to make an example. ”There is a bar I sometimes visit just up the road.” The place was still it the Black Bazaar, but the owner was very strict about no violence in his establishment.

From on top of a roof an arrow was being drawn probably from the same person as before. The person was aiming straight at Akazukin once again. Sudden a sound of a painful scream and an arrow being shot into the air resounds. The screams of agony continue for a few seconds and then silence. A wolf then howls from on top of the roof with its muzzle covered in blood. “Looks like Totoro found himself a meal.”

Yumiko listened to the woman. When she said time user, his eyes narrowed. So that wasn't a clone after all. He seen her eyes with it's weird clock like form. He has never seen anything like it before.

Then she talked about the Red Light. Don't get me wrong, compared to this place the Red Light seems like luxury. It's also kind of my own home too." He then looked over at the two dead people that Akazukin told him about. Obviously she had a kill only if it's the last way policy. He rubbed the back of his neck.

"Yeah, sorry about that.
I have a history. If you know what I mean. Say, could you use your time powers to bring them back?"
He knew it was a childish question to ask, for that would be impossible. Unless if a forbidden justsu was used.

He then followed the woman to a bar. But not before hearing the screams of a man as he was being eaten alive. Yumiko stopped for a second. And then shook his head, there was obviously some other kinds of killers here than just him.

As they entered the bar, Yumiko could smell the scent of alcohol. And he hated that smell. But for the sake of having a nice talk with someone, who didn't want him dead, he stuck by Akazukin. But not too close, for he didn't want to anger the woman of time anymore than he probably has with the killing. He ordered some water, and sat down near the outskirts of a loud crowd of men talking and drinking. He didn't want to look like an outsider, considering how his bones cost a lot to the right payer.

Yumiko slipped his left hand into his pocket to hide the bone encased hand. The best way is to act natural. He struck a conversation with a drunkard next to him. Being fully aware of anyone who might just suddenly come up on him.

He drank his water, but then felt kind of dizzy. A weird taste was in his mouth. "Akazu-" and then he blacked out.

Yumiko asks quite the big question. “I can try.” Akazukin then cast her highest level jutsu she possessed. It was an S-rank jutsu called Avatar of the Divine and the title matched its power. Akazukin changes before his eyes and this was no visual illusion. Her hair goes completely white, her skin becomes deathly pale, her one clock eye was now two and her clothes change into a kimono. However the most unnerving thing about her was likely the giant ethereal clock that floated above her.

Pointing a hand at the dead bodies the ethereal clock glows with an eerie aura. “Arise mortals and live again!” This might be delusions of grandeur, but in this form Akazukin truly believe she is a god. The blood that laid on the ground recedes back into the body and the injuries seems to miraculously disappear. However they did not move, breathe or showed any signs of life. “Well that was humbling.” Her failed attempt was a serious blow to her ego. “It seems souls are not so easily returned to the body.”

She did not return back to her normal form, but remained in her divinity as they went to the bar. The large ethereal clock follows her where ever she goes. If there was anyone else that wanted to attack her, they suddenly lost interest out of concern for their lives. “Barkeep the usual.” The man laughs as he gives her a glass of ice water. Akazukin was actually a little surprised that Yumiko orders the same thing. “I can only drink water out of my clan’s traditions. What is your excuse?” Yumiko then passes out. Akazukin sniff her glass of water and it had a faint smell to it. “Damn it Tsukasa, someone poisoned your water again. This is the third time this week. You need to get better security.” Akazukin rewinds time around Yumiko to restore his body back to the point before he was poisoned.

Yumiko looked on as Akazukin took on a new form. She used her powers over time to out the people's blood back into them, the bone shards flew out of their bodies. And he's got to admit. She looked beautiful. Stunning even. He shook his head to get a clear head as he watched on. waiting to see if the two bodies would come back... Which they didn't. He sighed. Yumiko didn't know what to do, since it seemed like she had her pride hurt over this. So he ended up just patting her back.

"Look, it was my fault for killing them. And it was too much to think that we could bring them back to life." We? Why the hell did he just say we? It was Akazukin that did her best to try and bring back two people, but with no outcome. Yumiko sighed. "Well. I guess we can head to the bar."

After he was knocked out by whatever poison was in the water he suddenly felt back to normal. He opened his eyes and looked at Akazukin. "Thank you. And well. I just don't like alcohol. But after getting poisoned I think I might just switch." Yumiko added that last part as a joke. He then made a small laugh, as it felt weird to be I'll, and then suddenly fine.

Could their be a such thing as timeline backlash? He finds himself asking himself stupid questions, but then he shook his head. Instead, he thought of why Akazukin was here.

"So, if you don't mind me asking, could you tell me why you were around in a place like this? And I don't mean the bar. I mean that area where everyone wants to take out Uchiha and Hyuuga eyes and keep them for themselves?"

Akazukin finally returns to her normal form and shakes her head with a laughs, “why does anyone come to a place like this?” She gives a small pause for Yumiko to give a quick answer. “To shop of course.” She lets out another hearty chuckle. “This is a black market my dear, where you can get some questionable goods such as those eyes you mentioned.” Akazukin believe the bone user would likely find her a shady character after hearing how she was here to buy such product. On the other hand, “Why are you here in a place like this? Are you looking for a special implant to call your own? Or are you planning to sell those bones of yours?” Buying or selling was the two many reasons anyone would be in a place like this. Surely he had to be one of the two.

Yumiko looked at the woman. A shiver went down his spine when he heard the woman speak of shopping here. He knew that this place was full of people who wanted powers in messed up ways.

And to think that he was messed up by deciding to train here. Yeah, he may have killed a few people here and there, but that is mostly because he felt threatened by them.

This woman really was here to collect eyes or bones or blood of someone that was just killed or tortured. Even Yumiko has his limits of what he would do.

He didn't let his emotions show, as he looked at the empty glass of water poison. He knew lying won't help the situation at all, of why he was here. And yeah, telling the truth is gonna suck for him.

"Neither actually. I'd rather not know that my bones were surgically implanted into someone else. And I'm not interested in having a dead persons eyes where mine should be. In fact. I was here to train. Didn't think that it would end up with two deaths though."

He pondered for a minute. He sighed. He had heard of a place that was selling a lot of assortments of eyes, blood, and yes. Bones. Bones of a Kaguya.

He knew exactly where those bones may have come from. From when he killed his father and his other family member. He seen flyers all over the Red Light the other day.

"Fine. I may know a place.
But if I get an indication that they want to take my bones from me forcibly. I'll kill them. Just letting you know."

And since he really didn't want to have any issues. He out his bone hand into his pocket, trying to hide the fact that he was a Kaguya. The only physical way for anyone to know that he is a Kaguya.

“To train?” she asks not sure if she heard him right. This was quite an unusual place to train and she was one that trains at casinos, so she knows weird spots to train. She had to admit she agreed with him on a couple of matters. She definitely did not want her eye to fall into the wrong hands nor did she like the idea of being surgically altered. “Trust me there are much safer places to train your arts.”

When Yumiko said he may know a place, she had the look of shock and disgust. “No, good gracious what type of woman do you think I am?” She was not exactly sure what type of shop he would take her to, but if his previous comments were any indication… It was not what her cup of tea. “Please my dear, it is obvious what kind of shops you’ve seen. I’m sorry I don’t do organs. I like the way I look and I’m not risking my beauty over surgery.” Yumiko must be asking herself, what is it that she is buying? It is the black market so there are other forms of contraband. She highly doubts he would ever think of product that she wishes to buy for it is not something people normally purchase. “How about I take you along with me to grandmother’s house.” Of course the person she was visiting was not really her grandmother, but someone she like to refer to as grandma.

It seems that Yumiko had the wrong impression on Akazukin. He let out a sigh of relief that he won't have to go to that evil place.

"I'm actually glad that you don't do organs. That kind of stuff is just going too far. It really sends chills down my spine. No pun intended."

But then his mind wondered about. How could she possibly want some other kind of mysterious powers here if it wasn't to actually surgically alter herself? He thought about it for a minute. But couldn't think of a reason why she would be here no matter what he can think of.

Then she talked about taking him with her to see her grandmother. He finally relaxed, he wasn't known to family, but at the words of grandmother.

"Yeah sure. Grandmas are nicer than any of these people."

At least, that's what he hopes for.

Akazukin then realizes she used the nickname and clarifies, “Well she is not really my grandmother, but someone I like to refer to as grandma. You’ll find out why and don’t worry she’s a very gentle soul.” Akazukin smiles for she knew he was going to be in for quite the surprise. She knows she was quite shocked the first time she found this place. It was a small run down looking shack. Where the sign for the establishment would be hanging was instead a potted plant. The flowers that grew within the pot were Forget-me-not. Akazukin found it a fitting name for the store and an interesting to display a name. One would need a knowledge of flowers to understand. Akazukin open the door and calls out, “Grandma I’m back.”

A small girl comes running up to greet them. “Welcome back Aka-chan.” The girl could not possibly be any older than ten. Her small stature and voice made that ever so evident. perhaps this girl was the reason for the nickname; surely it must be the girl's grandmother running the shop. Akazukin rubs her head and the girl giggles while holding her teddy bear tightly. “Oh, you brought someone with you this time. Welcome to Forget-me-not.” She makes a polite bow of respect to her elder. Looking at Akazukin and back to Yumiko, she says something that make Akazukin blush, “Is he your boyfriend?”

Yumiko nodded. Understanding that whoever he was going to meet really wasn't Akazukin's grandma. He expected to see an elderly lady knitting or making cookies. But he was met with a little girl, about ten years old. Yumiko guessed the grandma was out if the shop for now, but considering how Akazukin has time powers, he wouldn't be surprised if she just reversed this girls life, from an old elderly woman to a little girl now.

Well...best to look stupid and have them laugh at him than undermining the little girl and thinking that she is just that.

"Hello, and I'm Yumiko.
Akazukin has told me about you."
That's when the little girl asked if they were dating, and Yumiko could see Akazukin blush. He looked away, also trying to hide his emotions. He has to admit it. She is really beautiful. And he is just mesmerized by her eyes.

He would have looked at Akazukin forever, but thankfully his self consciousness finally told him that if he looks any longer he would be a creeper. He looked away from Akazukin, not trying to make eye contact with her.

"Um, I mean we just met today, but if she wants- I mean, yesterday-
I mean we just met and yeah."
Yumiko has mentally face palmed himself for making no sense at all, jumbling over his words.

The little girl giggles at Akazukin’s and Yumiko’s reaction to her relationship answer. Akazukin gave a confused look for she does not remember saying much of anything. Akazukin was unsure what he meant by his first statement. “As you can probably guess by the name of the shop, Grandma here deals with memories.” Grandma was a Yamanaka and a skilled one at that. When possessing people she is able to take a snap shot of a person’s memories while in side. “I call her Grandma because she has more life experience than anyone I know and really think her talents are best suited for the Anbu.”

“As I have told you before. I have no interest in becoming one of those damn lap dog!” She spoke with utter disdain for the group. Grandma shots Akazukin a glare as a warning to drop the topic. “Now if he is not a boyfriend of yours, can I assume he is to serve as your method of payment?” Her words still had a tint of anger from the yelling before. “I am sure a man like him would have quite the story to tell.” Akazukin shakes her head and Grandma gives a sigh, “Let me guess another stray taken in from the rain.” It was a saying of her which basically meant rescuing someone from a sticky situation and Akazukin could not argue with that assumption. "Very well..." Grandma quickly turns to look at Yumiko. "Perhaps you would like to purchase a few memories of your own. You could make train easy or learn stuff you never knew... If you like I could give you a steamy romance." Akazukin would not recommend the latter out of person experience. Suddenly being able to remember sight,s sounds and feelings of such of events always lead to change ones underwear. Probably something he did not want to do in front of Akazukin or at least she hoped not.

Yumiko's attention was brought back to Akazukin. Apparently this was a memory shop. His thoughts instantly went to his father. Whom he had killed. He brought out the medallion that he wore around his neck and looked at it. Only listening to what Akazukin and her 'grandma' were saying. He guessed that Akazukin used some time powers to make the girl Saturday young forever.

As the girl mentioned having him as a form of payment, he looked up, confused as to why they were going to ransom him off. But thankfully, Akazukin declined the offer.

"I'm not just any stray from the rain. I was literally just invited to come with. Though she did save me from dying from poison and I do thank her for that."

Then the girl was offering to give him memories. And though the thought of having a relationship with Akazukin as a memory would be great and all, he figured that she might think differently. Or at least, want to take things slow at first. Yumiko was no guy to rush when it came to relationships. He did, though, have another thing in mind of memories.

He took the medallion from off of around his neck and handed it to the girl. "While it would be nice to have a steamy romance, I'd rather experience it first hand than just be a memory. But if you could. Um... Extract anything in a form of memories I'd be happy. The um. Previous owner was my father... Who I killed... I never knew him until I I killed him."

He avoided to look at Akazukin in her eyes. Forget having a chance with her. He probably blew it once he said that he killed his dad. But at the time, he only did it because his father killed someone. A person who took care of Yumiko and acted as his father.

The medallion was gold, with the words, "Bone Assassin" etched into the metal. There was a name below bone assassin, but it was scratched out. Not of Yumiko's doing.

Grandma takes the medallion that was hanging around the boy’s neck unsure why he was handing it to her. It looked to be gold, so she would accept it as payment. Then he gives a common request she is really tired of repeating. “Did you forget the name of the shop already boy?” The name of the shop was forget-me-not. This was not a place for removing memories. She then hands the item back to Yumiko seeing as she could not preform the task which he is asking.

Painful memories
Should never be forgotten
We must learn from them
Living is never easy
But hardships lead to strength

Akazukin spoke poetically in the form of a Tanka. It was a poem given to her back when she was traveling around with a caravan of gypsies. Akazukin found them words easy to say, but hard to swallow. She too has memories she would much rather forget, but she tries to grow stronger form them.

Grandma recognizes the poem for she has a copy of Akazukin’s memories. “I always found it better to remember than to forget.” She then takes a deep breath before going on to explain the situation to the boy. “I am not capable of erasing memories, I assume that’s what you meant by extract. I can only copy and implant memories.”

Yumiko took back the medallion. "Actually, what I meant by that, was if you could take the memories out if it and give them to me. To transfer memories if possible."

He didn't want to push his luck too much, so he then stayed quiet, listening to the little girl talk. Yumiko then felt awkward. Being in this situation, he felt like he was now wasting their time. But then she said that she could implant memories into him.

"Wait, can you implant memories from the medallion into me?
Is that too much to ask for? You can keep the medallion afterwards."
Yumiko didn't know what he was saying. Giving up the medallion?! But then again, he could actually learn about who his father was instead of just having his medallion and not knowing about who he was.

He looked at Akazukin, who was thinking of probably some terrible memories that she has had. It's obvious that she has seen some stuff that was horrible. He then looked down, at his medallion. This choice was something big that he was deciding on. He just hoped that the girl accepts his bargain.

Grandma just stares at him trying to figure out whether he was serious right now or just messing with her. Akazukin response to his request was to place her face into her palm and passes Yomiko as she takes a moment to go outside. Even with the door shut behind her she could hear grandma yell, “Are you fucking serious!”

“What type of sorceress do you take me for? How the bloody hell am I to extract memories from an inanimate object? For the love of Mother Suna, it is not alive. It does not possess any memories you idiot. Get out of my shop I have no time to be wasted on the like of you. Now get.” Obviously due to her age she could not physical force him out and was quite less than threatening

Yumiko now realized that he sounded stupid. He out his medallion back around his neck, and walked out. The girl was obviously mad, and it could be possible that she could give him terrifying memories. He seen Akazukin walk out, probably mad at his idiocy. And he definitely didn't want to mess with her now. She's probably mad at him and will use her time powers on him.

He walked out of the shop, and into the street, passing Akazukin, not bothering to look at her. Yumiko always seems to ruin a possible friendship before it even happens. Back to the life of being a loner. He passed by people who took notice of his hand, and instantly they were on him. But he wasn't going to have any of it. Yumiko shot bone shards at their feet, making sure that they will not follow him.

He then walked back past the alleyway that held the two people that he had killed earlier.
