Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Mikizu was often accompanying her father on various business trips between the different countries to each hidden village. Him being a farmer and all allowed him to have many connections in various towns and villages across the nation. She enjoyed the long walks their as nature was always so wondrous and beautiful to her. She truly enjoyed the fresh air the sound of leaves and branches crunching beneath her feet as she traveled to and from the Leaf Village. Although her father wasn't famous or anything he was all she had. She didn't really have a mother figure. No one to look up to other than her father as she was in essence a "test tube baby". Her father never had a woman of his own but always wanted to have a fulfilling life with a child he could raise and care for. He got his wish when Mikizu was born and has loved her dearly ever since making sure she always had whatever she actually needed. The hardest thing for him to do was to tell his little girl no.

This particular day they had their sights set on the Cloud Village to meet their council of farmers. They had their annual meeting which was about the statistics of what crops did well and what ones sold the most. Which village and which farms distributed the most of each crop and how they could best expand this. They always wanted to increase their profit for the most part. However, her father didn't really care much about the profit and only ever showed up to these things because he was good friends with a few of the people that ran the meetings. The meetings themselves were very boring for Mikizu and was the only thing she disliked about going on these trips with her father. A bunch of old men talking about the weather and politics/money was not something she looked forward to hearing later on that day.

Lost in all of her thoughts Mikizu stopped paying attention to her own surroundings and didn't hear anything her father was telling her. He didn't notice at first but there were a few people lurking in the shadows watching the two move onward each step they took bringing them even closer to doom. The raiders lurking in the shadows made no noise as they kept pace with Mikizu and her father watching and waiting for the perfect moment to strike them both down. Her father continued talking about how beautiful the trees and wildlife around them were. Before anyone could react the raiders all launched kunai at her father a few of the missing their mark but a majority of them hitting him in the chest and surrounding areas. Hearing her father cry out in agony brought Mikizu out of her own thoughts and back to reality. Her father's cries didn't last very long as a few of the raiders lunged forward with more kunai charging him down and finishing him off as if he were simply a target for them. Simply another payday that's how they treated the man she called her father. Seeing such a thing broke something inside of her causing her to simply break down in the middle of the pathway covering her face with her hands as tears flowed down it gently and sobbing sounds could be heard throughout the forest along with the words. "Daddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Asuka was taking a few days off from her duties in the village. Or more precisely escaping her duties, it didn't really matter in the end the only who could potentially yell at her was Takeshi buuuttt she doubted he was free enough to even notice her not being in the mansion as she was supposed to. Walking besides her was her twin, Rayne, crossed arm as always. "Do you ever think about the circle of life?" Asuka asked, Rayne rolling her eyes at the girl. Here she went with her rambling as always.

"You're going to go on the nonsense train and ramble away again." Rayne replied with a sigh, not really wanting to entertain the idea.

Asuka simply shrugged of her comment and continued. "Technically we destroy the circle of life thanks to the jutsus that basically make us immortal which is an imbalance to the order of things. Shouldn't that have it's own consequences?"

"I..." Rayne pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance. "I'm not even going to try humor your stupid rambling. Last time I did it you ended with trying to make pigs fly."

"They were prototypes!"

"Because I didn't let you out to actually go and buy a pig!"

Asuka sighed, knowing there really woudn't be any point in continuing. But would get her point across, at least she would listen. "But just listen, a pig could fly if we used a bird skeleton and used that for a pig, problem is the weight but that would be an e-"

Rayne held her hand out. "Shhh, you here that?"

Both of them became quiet, listening to their sourroundings very carefully. Being the Shinobi that they were hearing what wasn't supposed to be heard was their job, although anyone would hear the blood high pitched scream coming from the woods. "Rayne!" Asuka screamed out as Rayne turned to black light and flew unto Asuka's palm morphing to a scythe. Her Sharingan activated she proceeded to sprint towards the scream. Once there, what she saw made her clinch her teeth.

She knew she would cut it close protecting the child and trying to defeat the bandits... or whatever they were. She had to keep the child safe at first. With a deep breath she jumped into the air and made a couple of hand seals, breathing out fire from her mouth making a sort of circle around Asuka, the unknown child and, what seemed to be, a dead corpse. This would take the asailanta by surprise but in no shape or form would it keep them out forever. "Do me a favor." Asuka grabbed the child's face, trying to calm her down. Thankfully she saw her headband, okay... she was one of Leafs. Probably one of hers considering the age. "Calm down, breath deeply. Tell me your name and I promise to get you out of here alive." Quickly she checked for a pulse from the man on the ground, she couldn't feel one. Damn it... dead. This wasn't good.

The strange pair, beast and man, moved through the forest like smoke. Silently they weaved through the trees with practised ease, leaving no trace they had ever passed despite the creatures large size. The forests surrounding Konohagakure and the greater Fire Country were more familiar to the armoured shinobi than any other region of the world and, though the Myakashi Clan now resided in the country of the Moon, these wilds of the Fire Country would always be his home.

Their movements came to an abrupt halt almost simultaneously as the beast tilted its head as if listening to a sound imperceptible to his inferior human ears. The man placed his hand on the creature’s strange mane.

‘What is it Urufuebi?’ The voice of the man telepathically and silently moved directly into the creature’s mind, a gift of his Yamanaka ancestry.

The creature merely growled menacingly before darting away at high speed in the direction of the distant sound. Yong sped off after Urufuebi, trailing the creature for only a second before catching up and maintaining pace.

‘You run us towards the road Urufuebi! Be Cautious!’ He hoped the creature would listen for once...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the wind rushed past his mask a distinct scream echoed through the forest still some distance ahead but rapidly closing.
As the pair broke through the tree line and into the open space encompassing either side of the road Yong quickly took in the chaos of the scene before him, arriving moments before the curtain of flame obscured what had appeared to be a woman, child and fallen man… a family he quickly assumed. They were still under attack from what appeared to be a number of bandits.
Urufuebi did not stop to take in the scene as his human companion had, instead powering forward and snapping his powerful jaws around the closest bandit. The huge creature thrashed the man violently like a terrier with a rat, the man crying out for a moment before going limp between the huge jaws of the beast.
‘Well so much for caution…’
As Urufuebi dropped his first victim and turned to its next, Yong utilized the momentary chaos to his advantage. His hands flashed through esoteric hand seals as he forced his will towards those his companion had deemed enemies. Bombarding one of the bandits with a telepathic assault he reached deep into his mind, changing his perception of the world (1). The bandit turned away from the flames to find himself faced with a rapidly approaching enemy, intent on his destruction… His kuni moved on instinct, piercing into the side of his enemy’s neck, only too late seeing the panic and confused face of one of his bandit compatriots.
His shock was only short lived as Yong violently (2) severed the Genjutsu effecting the bandit, causing massive internal haemorrhage in the man’s cerebellum. He fell to the ground in a crumpled heap as his eyes rolled up into his head.
Urufuebi ploughed onwards through the now startled bandits, though they were hastily forming a resistance to their newly arrived assailants. A myriad of small cuts already crisscrossing his companion’s tough carapace.
‘Shit! They have had training…’ Yong thought as he moved to position himself between the majority of the bandits and the flame surrounded family.
“Do what you can to keep her safe!” His voice would carry clearly through the flames to those behind them.
A stray limb somersaulted through the air in front of him as Urufuebi continued its carnal work, blood hissing as it contacted the flames of the protective wall.
“…And maybe cover her eyes?”
1. Betrayal
2. Shattered Reality
Urufuebi stands 2.3m tall and 7.5m long. A dark blue, steel hard exoskeleton covers the entire body, separated into nine segments down the body and ending in a fin like tail primarily used for submerged locomotion. Three large fins run down either side of his body at the fifth, sixth and eighth armoured segment. Used for sensory awareness the fins are lined with fur like sensory apparatus, though hyper sensitive to motion in the water the hairs are almost useless in air. Extending from between the second and third segments of the body are two large forelimbs ending in praying mantis like talons. Though capable of snipping an armoured man in half the talons are predominantly utilised to catch and dismember prey for consumption. The first segment of the exoskeleton ends in a doglike face, with small clear blue eyes positioned on either side of the head. On the sides of the face extend two 3.6m long, thin feelers/antenna which are semi prehensile with sensitive feathering extending from the last 30cm's of the antenna. Equipped with a hyper extendable jaw lined with sixteen tooth like protrusions, Urufuebi is capable of swallowing large chunks of 'food' somewhat akin to a snake. When leaving the water the Queen's mists surround his form, allowing his water based locomotion to transition to the air as if swimming through the mist.
Asuka clench her teeth, she had to think of some way of fighting back while keeping the girl safe. In reality she didn't really see a way without calling for backup but they were quite ways again. With her Sharingan activated she looked around the fire circle she had made, well... maybe she could drop the circle, grab the girl and run far away from here. That would be the safe choice. Unfortunately, back up did arrive.... not who she was expecting though.
The man was clearly a Shinobi, problem was she couldn't see any sort of Heaband or indication of where he was from. That sent red flags in her mind but right now the priority was something else. Asuka sighed letting the fire circle drop. Going through a set of hand seals she placed a thunder dome around the girl. At least that would keep her safe for the moment. Spinning her scythe around a few times to get used to the weight she walked next to the man. "She will be. Unfortunately can not cover her eyes while protecting her, wouldn't be as efficient." Asuka giggled spinning her scythe around a few times "Why don't we take care of the people here, then would you like to have a cup of tea with me? As a thank you." Of course she would have to be careful, who knew who this was but she didn't want to seem aggressive at first. Hell, worst case he was a friendly face.
With another giggle she used the bottom shaft of her scythe to jump upwards, spinning in the air landing straight into one of the foes head. Asuka made sure not to stray too far from the thunder dome in case someone wanted to take it down. Thanks to her eye prowess she was able to react to an incoming attack by jumping upwards, stretching her hand the Scythe flew towards her hand landing on top, she took an elegant pose. Just like Royalty. "I'd rather not stain my clothes with red. It's such a hassle to dry off. Would y'all be a dear and screw off back to your hiding hole." Some were hesitant, unfortunately none turned away. Asuka knew she could take them, unfortunately she saw that they were trained. Probably had some tricks up their sleeve. If any of them were a skilled Shinobi there could be trouble, potentially collateral damage. The paperwork on that would be awful.
She didn't want to risk it, so no jutsus from her part. But.... she could do something. "Hey! Mask man! Got a plan." She yelled dodging the sharp weapon of one of the asailants. Using the wall not to loose momentum, counterattacking by hitting him with the blunt side of her blade. "I'd rather not drag this on." Asuka yelled trying to make her way closer to the man so he could hear her. "Use a powerful area of effect jutsu, that will not destroy the city, and throw it my way." She yelled as her weapon changed from a scythe to what seemed to be a mace. Quite the big mace in fact. "Don't complain, just do it." With that she started sweeping around the battlefield, trying to move the attakcers into one spot. Or rather trying to keep them in one spot. "Yell at me when ready."
The armoured shinobi moved with practised ease through the skirmishing brigands, soon realising there were far more assailants than he had first anticipated. He was glad the flames still surrounded the woman and child so he could concentrate. There was a momentary break in the melee as the bandits regrouped to assess. Yong likewise took the opportunity to regroup, his water demon companion floating through the air next to him.
The curtain of flames began to diminish, revealing the nature of the woman behind them. Her Sharingan consumed his mind, narrowing the world around him. The last time he had seen those eyes they had dragged him through hell, fractured his mind… broken his will…
‘She is not the enemy Yin! Concentrate, they regroup!’ The words of the monstrous beast bypassing the ears and entering Yong’s brain directly, as was the fashion these days.
He gave a simple nod, his gaze returning to the rapidly approaching attackers. Their attack renewed in earnest, Yong and the beast moving to intercept the now revealed woman and child. Lightning arched over the child as the Uchiha spun her scythe as if testing the weight, walking next to the pair until they were side by side. The woman began to speak to him, though never taking her eyes off of the bandits. She spoke with mirth, stating that the child would be safe though it would be inefficient to cover the child’s eyes. The woman then giggled and spun her scythe, this time much more theatrically, obviously now familiar with the apparent newness of the weapon.
Her next words caught him off guard almost as much as her eyes had. She requested to have tea with him once they were done here…
“Tea? You honour me, my lady.”
With another giggle she then leapt through the air showing rare talent for a shinobi these days. Yong deduced three things from her recent behaviour. First, she was not here when the attack had initially taken place or the fallen man would still be drawing breath. Second, death was no stranger, she giggled even as violently spilt blood soaked the ground around her graceful form. And third, she was a far greater threat to him than the bandits fumbling impotently beneath her.
She spoke once more, posing regally as if speaking to wayward subjects rather than murderous bandits. Though he knew some had thought of taking the offered retreat, the stoic nature of their compatriots hardening their resolve.
The woman called to him, as they once again engaged with the enemy. Her request a strange one, she wanted Yong to attack her rather than the enemy. He began to protest her strange request though she interrupted, telling him not to complain, just do it.
“As you wish…”
Reaching his palm forward a small puff of smoke revealed a small, ornate shuriken gently spinning above his hand. He moved his hands away, the shuriken remaining in place, slowly spinning in mid-air. Dark lines rolled over his skin as his cursed seals released their power into his chakra system. His hands flashed through esoteric hand seals as the shuriken began to gain in momentum, shadows flickering through his fingertips as he mouthed silent words of power, though his mouth movements concealed behind his mask. His beast companion interceding repeatedly between Yong and the bandits trying to stop his Jutsu, Yong called to the woman indicating readiness, she nodded in response. The shuriken began to spin rapidly, dark chakra coiling around it like orbiting electrons around an atom. His eyes closed as his hands formed the last seal and his lips spoke the final words of power, audible at the last “…Tsökhröl!”
Asuka used the mace in her hand to hit a few enemies on the head as they got close. She needed that technique and she needed it soon. Otherwise they could be overrun and only the gods knew if they had reinforcements nearby. She didn't want to stick around. But she was a little worried.
The masked man worried her, he didn't move like a normal mercenary, or even like a normal Shinobi. This person was a lot more skilled and a lot more dangerous than the bandits. She truly needed to watch out for herself, be on guard just in case. Even though, him helping her was weird. At least that was a point in his favor but not enough to be considered trust.
But that would have to wait, now she simply had to take care of the situation at hand. She looked over at the Shinobi and saw he was preparing an attack. Perfect, he did listen to her. Taking that as her signal she started running backwards, to a uneducated eye it might seem she was running away, in reality she was getting into a better position. Breathing calmly through her nose she jumped up into the air. Her eyes never leaving the man. His jutsu... was that? A rasengan? Crap, this may be harder than she thought. Taking a deep breath she waited. Nodding to show she was ready the dark shurikens flew towards the bandits.
At first they laughed, thinking the strong attack had missed them, some even kept looking at the attack in awe. Thanking the gods for the luck they had. What they didn't know is that the attack wasn't meant for them. Asuka was ready to swing at the Shuriken. With one last deep breath she swung gracefully at the Shurikens, the attack stopped for a few seconds and later=
The attack backfired, aimed at the bandits. By the destructive power alone the comet like burst of energy struck on different places but all at the bandits. The shock waves that took place were powerful enough to break windows in the city, for someone that wasn't trained in the Shinobi arts it would push them backwards.
The smoke slowly cleared, revealing the bodies. Asuka landed on the ground and shook the dust off of her Kimono. She sighed as her mace turned back into a scythe. She wouldn't deactivate her Sharingan, in case the man was dangerous. She slowly walked towards the man and smiled. "Well.... do have to say. Good job."
Echo’s of the catastrophic attack bounced back and forth around the local terrain. As the dust cleared, debris as well as more than a few body parts littered the ground. The young girl had appeared to be under the effects some sort of catatonic state, possibly due to the trauma possibly another jutsu of the other arriving aid which had come in the form of an angel of death.
As his eyes focused on the young girl for the first time his throat caught. The shinobi headband indicated that she was no civilian…
The massive beast came to a sliding halt next to his companion, small, bestial eyes locked onto the scythe wielding kunoichi as she began to walk towards the pair. Urufuebi rapidly sent his thoughts towards his companion, the masked shinobi.
‘I was wrong Yin… She is the enemy… Do you recognise her now?’
Yong turned to the approaching woman, focusing almost exclusively on the hypnotic sharingan, losing the face behind them. A silent response to the negative was communicated to his companion. The beast’s mental response was accompanied by the deep rumble of an unstifled, clearly audible growl.
‘She is Leaf Sennin!’
The Sennin slowly walked towards him now the combat was over, though her sharingan still glared in ominous red foreshadowing. A smile crossed her face as she acknowledged his attack and its efficiency to aid in the destruction of the unknown bandits, in not so many words.
“…The weak die, it is the way of this world…”
He began to move towards the closest felled opponent, crouching beside him and beginning a search through his belongings. Urufuebi remaining in the ‘neutral zone’ between the two, shinobi and the kunoichi, maintaining the low, menacing growl.
After removing a few small belongings and coins from the corps he moved to the next.
“These men… these soldiers… they were weak… unworthy… If I had known the girl too was a soldier then perhaps…”
Yong let the words hang in the air, the sentence incomplete but the implication obvious, his hands still moving with practised efficiency through a fallen bandits belongings as he spoke.
“But you my lady Sennin… you are a killer…”
He hesitated before ceasing his search momentarily, turned slowly to face towards the woman whilst still crouched over the body.
“Do you know me Sennin of Konohagakure? Do you know what I am?”
Asuka tilted her head slightly at the masked man once he crouched, was he looting the bodies? Why? This didn't make much sense, if the guy was trained as a Shinobi then surely he had a village of origin. If that was the case then why would he need the stuff? The village surely provided with ways to sustain oneself, missions alone should be enough. Unless... he wasn't trained in a village. His words did send a small alarm on her head but she has heard talk like that before, in any case it didn't bother her too much.
"Everyone dies." She simply responded, she wasn't about to start a psychological debate with this guy.
She kept her scythe close to her, ready in case this idiot tried anything. It wasn't long before he spoke again, alarms went from yellow to orange. He was creepy, talked stupidly low and tried to sound badass which simply fails. "Perhaps what?" Asuka responded, her smile dissapearing "Perhaps she was weak as well? Your tone on the general population... don't like it... one bit."
Lady Sennin? H.... She was sure Asuka hadn't introduced herself to him for the very specific reason that she didn't trust him. If he knew who she was then surely he was from one of the villages. Which one though? "In this line of work, everyone's a killer. You either become one or die to one."
"I can take an educated guess."
She spoke with a sigh "Considering your skill, you are a trained Shinobi. Probably from one of the villages, seeing the Rasengan I would guess.... Leaf or Cloud. But, your looting of dead bodies makes me believe you aren't part of any of the villages. So you're a missing-nin, from where? Don't know. But you do know what comes next don't you?"
As the Sennin began to respond Yong resumed his searching of the fallen, continuing to move through until all had been searched. As she commented on his general tone of the population he smiled once more.
"My tone? My lady you slaughtered fleeing men and lecture me on my tone..." He shook his head gently, unconsciously grinning at the irony in the woman's words.
He stood slowly as his large wolf/prawn/monster companion swam through the air towards him. Reaching out his armoured hand to scratch the head of the monster with obvious affection, he spoke quietly to the beast though the Sennin was probably close enough to hear the whispered words if she really wanted to.
"Thank you Urufuebi, you can rest now... Take what you want..." He gestured to the dead men scattered around them.
The large beast huffed theatrically as if acknowledging the armoured shinobi's words. The smell of the ocean permeated the air momentarily as coils of sea spray enveloped Urufuebi and a number of the fresh corpses. As the beast faded from view, its large face turned towards the Sennin as it faded from sight, small eyes glaring ill-concealed hostility towards the scythe wielding Sennin of Konoha, a low growl lasting on the breeze for a moment after the physical form had departed, taking some of the bandits bodies with it.
Yong turned to face the woman once more, the subtle smile still across his face. The armoured shinobi stood now directly facing the woman, bowing slightly before raising his head and looking deeply into the Sharangan that confronted him.
"Right on almost every count... And I definitely know what comes next. But not today Lady Sennin.
You can be a killer another day... Today you get to play the role of saviour... Take the child of konohagakure home..."
The armoured shinobi gave her a wink before placing his mask back over his face. He began to walk away, not rushing, just walking away. Though he subtly hoped she would take the cheap shot while his back was turned he knew the Sennin would do what was best for the child.
Topic left. Removing b-mod call and edited post to reflect as such. We will definitely get back to this when you are ready and thanks for the RP :)
