Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

A sheet of parchment stretched out along the top of the desk, symbols written in calligraphy scripted with black ink occupying all available space. Scattered on top of this parchment were a variety of log books and some bound/unbound scrolls, all taking space in a rather chaotic form. Though it was what worked for him, as he unfurled a new message brought in by a courier bird which seemed contempt with perching in the open window behind him. Scanning the contents of the message, his eyes narrowed slightly before relinquishing hold of a cigarette from his lips. The ashtray to his right would be the occupant of the remnants before he opened the logs to search for suitable candidates to undertake an important mission that was nothing short of urgent.

The candidates chosen were anything but what a squad normally was comprised of given their varied backgrounds, however given the weight of the situation it was a decent enough fit. Taking out a pen, Oyochi would dip the tip into a vial of ink before quickly writing up a summons for each of the three who would be assigned the mission. Rolling each up and binding it with small cords, he'd walk up to the messenger bird and slide each summons into a holding pouch along the hawk's leg. Watching the creature take flight into the village, he would stand in the window calmly placing a new cigarette up to his lips though leaving it unlit for now.
This will be the starting point for an S-Rank mission.

Participants:
1) Temujin (Jounin)
2) Rei (Jounin)
3) Takai (Med-nin)

There will be a 72 hr post deadline, subject to increase given the incoming holiday celebrations/festivities so if you require more time simply drop a pm.

Asari Rei was at home, having only had just started to stir in the daylight, when she noticed a beautiful hawk sitting in her open window. The intelligent bird held the message firmly in it's mouth until the pale girl took it with her own hands. It departed on it's way, and the young girl closed her window. The kunoichi read briefly her summons letter before pulling the black curtains shut. The darkness was more comfortable to the raven-haired girl, but she had a nervous excitement when she got dressed. The girl with the blood red eyes almost always was seen in black clothes that she could move around easily and fight in. Today was no different than any other in that way, but she wore her grey ANBU armor on top of those clothes, to protect her when she went out. Instead of wearing sunglasses, or even her fox mask, today Rei wore instead a black mask that covered her nose all the way down her mouth and neck and left her strange red eyes for everyone to see. Her long, straight, black hair was tied behind her into a high ponytail out of the way, and the girl had equipped all of her usual gear.

The kunoichi had been on many missions before today, and she felt that this summons gave her a familiar feeling of being called out on one. The teenager held a lot of unique, dangerous power so she understood that missions she was called on were often ones where death was ever-so-near. She expected nothing less today, and readied a good amount of different poisoning on a good amount of each of the weapons she planned as potentials to be used. On Fang, a slim short sword carried on her back, hardly ever used, she made sure to have Heaven's Touch coating the tip. Senbon were something she didn't have a shortage of, but specific Blood Needles were her favorite to coat with Iron Vein, a dangerous heavy poison. Finally, her parasol had hidden senbon inside of it that she could choose to infuse chakra into the parasol to shoot out, so it was important to make sure that they had Serpent's Blood on them. The poisons she used were each scary in their own right, and with all the time she had spent mastering the art, she had found a way to make even consumable poisons affect those they injured. It was possible that she might be travelling, so she packed her backpack with some essentials and a few more shinobi items that might come in use.

With everything set, Rei opened her black parasol she had taken from her first fight so long ago, and set out to the Hokage Mansion. The parasol was a weapon she could use in a fight, yes, but it was more importantly something she could use to protect her delicate skin from the harsh sun as she headed on her way. The streets of Konoha seemed more bare than usual, maybe it was just the area she was heading to. Rei approached the Mansion sooner than she expected, and headed inside to Mission Assignment area she had been called to. Inside she found one man with an unlit cigarette between his lips. "Asari Rei, reporting in." The girl wasn't one for many words, so she simply bowed looked to the man for further information.

His apartment was small and drab of linings. Only the bare necessities made their way into the furnishing of the apartment. A small desk sat in front of a window, at it, Temujin. He was designing something on paper while Tendrils whipped from his upper back, performing care on one of the remaining hearts. When he heard a tap at his window he was quick to put down his utensils and open up the shades, while simultaneously withdrawing his malevolence back into him. The void was as silent as Temujin and the bird whilst, exchanging a slip. Still silent he looked over the summons, ' finishing with a nod to the bird as it flew away.

Getting up from his seat proper, he walked to his closet and retrieved his robe. He passed by the one mirror in his house that reminded him how disfigured his face had become. Throwing the robe over his body always contained a drawback. He could hear the lack of silence already come to him as the void aspect neared. Temujin posed it a question first. "Do all Void Adept's have something as annoying as you or am I the lucky one?" A tiny little translucent indigo blob of nothing and black eyes appeared as soon as the hood fell over the rim of his view. 'Only you, for all I know, I don't know what a Kind is, let alone have anyone of kin.'

"Lucky me." was all he said as the door to his apartment closed and he went on his way to the summons. The blob quickly caught up and went on his daily reminders about how Temujin should be a good person today. #158. Wash your hands. He got good at ignoring the void aspects inner musings, but with the lack of the void aspect he couldn't hear the void as much and loved it's thunder in his ears. This much he learned through observation of the annoying "friend".

The void aspect came into his view once more, semi-startling him. It was raising his hands frantically 'You're going to be late!" He blew air at him, "Shut up. I'm still the quickest thing around." All it had to say in response was 'Show me.' The rivalry these two had was unquenchable and they both abruptly exploded from their spots. They dodged civilians and objects on their run to the mansion which was a considerable amount of a run.

The void aspect had beaten him once again, he could see it's purple blobbyness showing off through the window of the Head Jounin office. Knowing this he slowed his pace upon entering the mansion. His thoughts lingered on how something can be that fast, He felt in his prime and could never beat the void aspect in a race. Mindlessly he walked into the room where the others were waiting. It looked like one last was to show.

"Matsukai Temujin, reporting."

The radiant sun shone through the open doors to the Temple, illuminating the center room Takai was sitting in, the warmth of the sun basking on the back of his neck. Before him was his Altar, a quiet place of contemplation, where he could collect his thoughts and seek guidance from the forces that surround. For some time he had been lost in a stream of consciousness, the flowing images running past his mind at an almost incomprehensible rate, yet still some things lingered. While things were fine in the village, a force of malevolence could be felt elsewhere. Things had been active in the land of fire, and Takai knew recent events wouldn't be the end of this malevolence. He needed to do more, train harder, become stronger if he was going to be ready for the fights ahead. It wasn't long before his trance was broke, and opportunity called.

Flown in through the open doors was a messenger hawk, attached to its legs was a message, and it was sitting on the very altar sitting before Takai, starring directly into his face. "Something for me I take it?" He spoke to the bird coyly, staring it now back in its face. Gently removing the note from the avian companion, he unfurled it to see his opportunity to grow had been answered. Not much was given as far as details go, but he was to report to Mission Assignment area immediately. With a quick nod, he and the bird were off to their separate locations. Heading over to a separate room, Takai adorned his all black battle regalia, and gathered his weapons, being sure to anoint them one last time with his specially prepared oils, and after fully equipping himself for the mission to come, headed out through the open doors.

With graceful speed he headed off to the Hokage Mansion, ready to happily accept any mission to come his way. This was an opportunity for change to be relished, and Takai intended to make the most of this. As he arrived and walked through the doors he noticed two of his to-be squad mates had already arrived. Falling in line with the others, Takai presented himself and gave a bow. "Ryoku Takai, reporting in." holding his head down in respect for a moment before posturing himself more presentably. Awaiting their briefing, Takai hoped he could make the most of this ripe opportunity before him. Little did he know it would be one of his greatest challenges to come.

He had waited for the trio to gather together before commenting, which would have undoubtedly preserved an ackward silence within the room. This passed quickly however once everyone had assembled, which prompted Oyochi to move away from the window and seat himself at the desk whilst the other's stood. His elbows rested on the desktop with his hands linked together supporting his chin. Although his sharp gaze remained fixated upon those he summoned the nature of his thoughts were all but readable. He found it intriguing that the village was made up of primarily youthful shinobi, people who were either children or babies when the conflict that engulfed leaf first sparked to life over a decade ago.

"Matsukai Temujin, Asari Rei, Ryoku Takai..you have each been summoned here and assigned an urgent mission which has been ranked in the S category. For this reason it was Imperative to bring together three jounin leveled shinobi to form this squad of which Matsukai Temujin will be the leader of. Each of you, I would hope, fully understands the level of danger such missions pose and equally so the potential outcomes either this village or country may face if you should fail."

There would be a spark, his hands shield the flame as the tip of his cigarette burned slowly. Between the stream of rising smoke and reality Oyochi himself fully weighed the potential negatives of forming a squad between shinobi who had never worked together before on such a scale or possibly ever before. Retrieving a scroll from the many which lined his desk, he would unfurl it's parchment roll, leaving behind a map of their known shinobi world. Various markers were placed upon multiple locations though what symbols each mark

"As you know, twelve years ago the Hidden Leaf became victims of a brutal samurai incursion which took the lives of shinobi and citizens alike. Shinobi arts were almost completely eradicated except in small pockets around the country. These resistance areas over the timeframe of the war era, have sense developed into small villages which due to their origin have all but been allowed freedom to continue living as they have been. Normally this would be understandable but confusing to what this has to do with the mission, but it is anything but a typical assignment. Hakone village sits on the edge of our border with Tea Country and we received a message requesting immediate help as a forbidden Jutsu, which the village has safeguarded since the fall of Konoha in the past was recently the target of an attempted theft."

Oyochi placed a small message on top of the map for the three to see. They would notice that the handwriting on the message was far from neatly written and that various parts of the parchment was blood soaked. While the part requesting aid was readable, the corresponding words after were either marred by blood or completely illegible. His gaze had changed to one of seriousness as the glare in his eyes seemed to confirm any suspicions that may rise in their minds.

"The forbidden Jutsu is a reanimation Jutsu capable of bringing back a deceased individual by using the life force of another. I do not have to connect the dots on why the retrieval of this scroll is of a high priority. It is highly probable that the village itself suffered injuries and assumingly some casualties which is why you were placed in the squad Takai, considering you're apart of the medic corps. You all are to travel to the village and retrieve the scroll which is kept somewhere within the village. Elimination of any hostile threat or capture is greenlighted and should you encounter any wounded do see what you can do for them within your capabilities."

He would lean back in his chair slightly...

"Any questions regarding your assignment?"

Temujin brought an idle hand to where a beard would be had his disfigurement not tarnished that ability. Returning his focus to the Head Jounin, Temujin nodded as he was mentioned as leader which sent the purple blob into a frenzy of who knows what. Listening to the mission assignment took him back to the Samurai Incursions. He thought them untrained savages who murdered for fancy instead of purpose. When he was sixteen he fought in these wars and held off many an attacker, but the price was too high for those lost. A somber mood began to take hold before he dismissed it with thoughts of the void, 'Sounds like we owe them some deaths. The void aspect began to giggle to itself at the thought which filtered out through his void connection. Raising his hands he pulled over his cloaked hood before folding them in at his chest. As the mission details unfolded the mention of forbidden scrolls turned his good eye inward. To him it meant there would be valid competition in retrieving it, not another gate duty mission. Perhaps even a way to use the knowledge he had learned from the void and his own forbidden instruments.

His eyes narrowed as the note was placed, the sight of blood always got his pumping. A certain blood thirst ran through his family that lead to various experiments with the subject. Shrugging off the bloodlust for the moment Temujin turned to the Head Jounin as he leaned back in his chair.

"I think you made everything perfectly clear, all we need to do now is execute it." He looked over his squad, back to the note and began speaking, "We're heading into distressed zones, Combat is looking promised, Remain in a formation of three when not in combat and I'll distract the enemy in combat. Our primary goal is to retrieve the scroll, we should set out immediately." He tapped on himself in areas to check he had everything necessary to run a mission, just in case.

The void aspect whined on and on about more rules like a talking handguide. "Ready to set out when you two are. One pace, steady until we get 100km out then the silent the better."
