Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Aburame
The Aburame are infamous for the usage of unique insects with their techniques. The Aburame breed and wield Kikai; a name given to several species of parasitic insects capable of devouring chakra from all forms of life. The Kikai’s symbiotic relationship with the Aburame enables their host to control them instinctively.

Hive Body - Passive
An Aburame is implanted with Kikai at birth, to both serve as shelter for the tiny insects and to enable them to develop a resistance to the Kikai’s chakra draining effects. To the average shinobi, the Kikai would rapidly deplete their reserves of chakra, but by the time the Aburame are skilled enough to wield the Kikai in combat, their own bodies have long since developing the resistance needed to serve as a hive for thousands of the small insects.

Rank 1/2/3: The user's non-Aburame Techniques cost +10%/7%/5% more CP and any Chakra Burn on the user deals +50% damage when not maintaining any [Kikai Swarms]. However all actions taken by [Kikai Swarms] ignore any debuffs on the user.

Notes:
  • Attacks made by the [Kikai Swarms] do not count as attacks made by the user, and any conditionals would need to specify "by a [Kikai Swarm]" or not specify a target at all to take effect.

Kikai Swarm - Passive
Breeding millions of Kikai insects within their body over their lifetime, an Aburame can unleash swarms at will. Controlling them from afar, the Kikai can perform a variety of techniques as the Aburame requires.

Rank 1/2/3: The user may generate a [Kikai Swarm] every 0.5 seconds for 0 AP. For 0.5 AP and 3% Max CP, the user can create additional [Kikai Swarms] that have HP equal to the CP expended. While active, the user can perform Basic Strikes using any of the active [Kikai Swarm] in place of an equipped weapon, dealing Basic Strike damage on a successful hit and inflicting Chakra Bite. The user may have a maximum of 2/3/4 [Kikai Swarms] at a time.

Special Action - Recall: The user may recall any number of [Kikai Swarms] for no cost, dispersing the swarm and regaining CP equal to the Kikai Swarm's remaining HP. Any CP that exceeds the user’s maximum CP is lost.

Notes:
  • Basic Strikes made by the user’s [Kikai Swarms] use count as Non-Elemental Ninjutsu, using Ninjutsu Accuracy and Buffs instead of Taijutsu,
  • Basic Strikes performed this way do not count as a Taijutsu technique or Melee Contact.
  • Basic Strikes performed this way deal Elemental Damage.
  • This does not count as a Creation or Clone technique.
  • [Kikai Swarms] expended for Aburame Techniques cannot be recalled with the Recall special action unless otherwise stated.
  • Chakra Bite drains 1% of the target's maximum CP and the [Kikai Swarm] regains HP equal to the same amount (this may exceed its maximum HP)

Pheromone Release - Bloodline Style
While a Kikai can naturally be controlled by an Aburame through their own chakra, they are still insects and as such their nature allows the Aburame to trigger natural instincts that exist amongst all insects. An Aburame is able to produce a variety of pheromones to induce their Kikai into an extremely heightened state.

Rank 1/2/3: The user enters into this style selecting a Focused/Scatter/Aggression Pheromone to release.
  • Focused Pheromone - Attacks made with [Kikai Swarms] are made with +2 Accuracy.
  • Scatter Pheromone - Attacks made with [Kikai Swarms] that initially miss may attempt to target a new target at +0 Accuracy or the same target again at -3 Accuracy.
  • Aggression Pheromone - Attacks made with [Kikai Swarms] deal twice the Basic Strike damage.

Cost: 0.5 AP and 120 CP/rnd.

Notes:
  • The user may switch Pheromones for 0.5 AP and 120 CP.
  • Pheromones affect any offensive techniques made with the [Kikai Swarms].
  • Pheromones last for 30 seconds or until a new Pheromone is activated.
  • Counts either as Chakra or Physical Style. Must be declared upon entering.

Kikai Clone - Non-Elemental Ninjutsu
Controlling a cloud of insects, the Aburame can release a large amount of Kikai and shape it to their exact size. Due to this unique composition of chakra and living creatures, this technique creates the most deceiving clone possible without Genjutsu.

Rank 1/2/3: Converts an existing [Kikai Swarms] into a [Kikai Clone] of the user, retaining its current HP and gaining secondaries equal to -9/-8/-7 of the user's and AP equal to 1/4 of the user’s. The [Kikai Clone] can perform up to E/D-Rank Non-Elemental Ninjutsu the user knows at Master Rank and Bloodline Techniques at Rank 1. Rank 3 allows this Technique to be affected by Pheromone Release. When under the effect of Pheromone Release the [Kikai Clone] gains the following effects:
  • Focused Pheromone - The user gains +2 Stealth vs Awareness tests.
  • Scatter Pheromone - The user creates 2 [Kikai Clones], this uses a single [Kikai Swarm] and the HP is split evenly between the 2 [Kikai Clone].
  • Aggression Pheromone - The [Kikai Clone] may no longer use Ninjutsu Techniques and gains a copy of the user’s currently equipped weapon, excluding augments, allowing use of E/D-Rank Taijutsu Techniques of the matching sub-type.

Cost: 1.5 AP and 240 CP, 120 CP/rnd.

Notes:
  • Switching Pheromones while there is an active [Kikai Clone] will immediately switch the effects to the new one.
  • [Kikai Clones] count as a [Kikai Swarm] and all rules and limits related to [Kikai Swarm] still apply.
  • [Kikai Clones] may use the Recall special action to end the Kikai Clone Technique.

Kikai Dome - Non-Elemental Ninjutsu
The Aburame can release a flood of insects to encapsulate themselves or their prey, either for protection or for isolation. A trapped opponent has drastically reduced vision as the countless insects slowly rob them of their precious Chakra.

Rank 1/2/3: May attempt to trap a single target (including self or ally) at +1/+2/+3 accuracy with an active [Kikai Swarm]. On a successful hit, this creates an [Kikai Dome] with HP equal to 1350/1690/2025. The Kikai Dome has the following properties:
  • All Offensive Techniques directed at or used by a target within the [Kikai Dome] become a Blind Shot, and on a miss the damage is dealt to the [Kikai Dome] instead. Any excess damage will attempt to hit the original target at -3 accuracy.
  • Every 10 seconds, the user can choose to make a Ninjutsu Check vs the trapped target, and on success the [Kikai Dome] deals CP Damage equal to half the [Kikai Dome]’s remaining HP and restoring the Kikai Dome’s HP for an equal amount.
  • Rank 3 allows this Technique to be affected by Pheromone Release, with the following appropriate effect:
    • Focused Pheromone - +2 to the ninjutsu check vs the trapped target.
    • Scatter Pheromone - May target 2 targets
    • Aggression Pheromone - May be used for basic strikes that do not count as blind shots against a trapped target.

Special Action - Swarming Kikai Dome: Using [Kikai Swarm]’s Recall Special Action, the user may choose to infuse one additional [Kikai Swarm] into the Kikai Dome instead of the user, adding its current HP to the [Kikai Dome] current HP..

Cost: 2 AP and 450 CP, 225 CP/rnd.

Notes:
  • The [Kikai Swarm] used for Kikai Dome original HP is ignored, any additional HP the [Kikai Swarm] had over the Kikai Dome’s HP is lost.
  • May be maintained for a maximum of 30 seconds.
  • The user can only have 1 active Kikai Dome at a time.
  • Kikai Dome can have a maximum of 1 additional Kikai Swarms infused into it using Swarming Kikai Dome Special action.

Cultivating and learning the secrets of the elusive Kikaichu, the Aburame-Hanshoku become masters of these rare and dangerous insects. Wielding them as if they were an extension of their own body, the Aburame-Hanshoku can unleash a variety of techniques that can quickly overwhelm their foes.

Swarm Master - Passive
Reinforcing their bodies to be able to withstand becoming a host of the most dangerous Kikai species, the Aburame-Hashoku can unleash more adaptive Kikai swarms that can change the outcomes of a battle. Able to continuously produce stronger Kikai with each passing generation these swarms become a true force to be reckoned with as the host ages.

Rank 1/2/3: The user’s [Kikai Swarms] now cost 5%/7%/10% of their Max CP when created and now have a maximum limit of 4/5/6 [Kikai Swarms]. In addition, the Chakra Bite effect now drains 2% of the target's Max CP and when the user uses the [Kikai Swarm]’s Recall Special Action, the user may choose to regain the [Kikai Swarm]’s remaining HP as Temporary HP or normal CP.

Kikai Subspecies - Passive
Basic species of Kikai are first introduced into an Aburame during their birth, but for Aburame-Hashoku additional, more exotic Kikai are also introduced as they mature. An Aburame-Hashoku can eventually utilize a vast variety of Kikai subspecies and cross-breeds, increasing their versatility when the situation deems it.

Effect: The user gains access to Kochu/Kidaichu/Rinkaichu swarms. When the user creates a [Kikai Swarm], they may choose to instead create one of the following Kikai Subspecies:
  • [Kochu Swarm] - Upon creation the user selects an Injury Type Poison in their inventory. A single use of the chosen Injury Type Poison is consumed. For 10 seconds all Techniques used with the [Kochu Swarm] apply the chosen Injury Type Poison.
  • [Kidaichu Swarm] - The first successful Single Target Technique used with the [Kidaichu Swarm] will make an additional Ninjutsu Check against the target. On a hit, the [Kidaichu Swarm] is no longer a valid target, the victim’s CP Costs are increased by 10% for the next 10 seconds and the user can no longer use the [Kidaichu Swarm] for techniques. After the 10 second duration the [Kidaichu Swarm] becomes a normal [Kikai Swarm]. The user's [Kikai Swarm] Recall Special Action cannot be used on a [Kidaichu Swarm].
  • [Rinkaichu Swarm] - A successful Called Shot made with a [Rinkaichu Swarm] will attempt to inflict a second level of Called Shot (rolled separately) with -10% chance.

Notes:
  • Kochu, Kidaichu and Rinkaichu Swarms count as a [Kikai Swarm] and all rules and limits related to [Kikai Swarm] still apply.
  • Kochu, Kidaichu and Rinkaichu Swarms may be used for [Kikai Clones] and retain their variant effects.
  • Kochu, Kidaichu and Rinkaichu Swarms are interchangeable with [Kikai Swarms] for use in Aburame Bloodline Techniques.
  • A participant may only have 1 [Kidaichu Swarm] affecting them at a time.

Kikai Infusion - Non-Elemental Ninjutsu
Kikais are naturally adaptable creatures, Aburame-Hashoku have learned to use this to their advantage. By covering themselves with a protective cloak of Kikai, Aburame-Hashoku can modify their ninjutsu techniques to be enhanced with chakra hungry Kikai.

Rank 1/2/3: When the user casts a Ninjutsu Technique, the Technique has a 20%/30%/50% chance to apply Chakra Bite effect. Rank 3 allows the user to be affected by Pheromone Release, with the following appropriate effect:
  • Focused Pheromone - The user gains +2 Accuracy to Ninjutsu Techniques.
  • Scatter Pheromone - The user gains 10% DR.
  • Aggression Pheromone - The user can expend a [Kikai Swarm] to add its remaining HP as Elemental Damage to a single Ninjutsu Technique. This is bonus damage and cannot be buffed in any way.

Cost: 2.5 AP, 1100 CP, 550 CP/rnd.

Notes:
  • This is a Chakra Armor Technique.
  • Use of Aggression Pheromone with a Ninjutsu Technique requires a 10 second cooldown after use.
  • The HP recovery from Chakra Bite will apply directly to the user.
  • The expended [Kikai Swarm] used for Aggression Pheromone does not benefit from the Kikai Swarm Recall special action.Kikai Subspecies may be expended but gain no additional effects.

Incubation Chamber - Non-Elemental Ninjutsu
An Aburame-Hashoku is able to create a stable environment for their Kikai to breed rapidly outside of the hive body. This is primarily used to forcibly cultivate and adapt the contained Kikai into a deadly swarm of highly evolved Kikai.

Rank 1/2/3: Creates an [Incubation Chamber] with 2600/3250/3900 HP and 3 AP. Rank 3 allows the [Incubation Chamber] to be affected by Pheromone Release Technique. The [Incubation Chamber] may make the following actions:
  • For 1 AP the [Incubation Chamber] may trap a single [Kikai Swarm]. The trapped [Kikai Swarm] is no longer a valid target and cannot be used with other Techniques.
  • For 1 AP the [Incubation Chamber] can create 1 copy of the trapped [Kikai Swarm] that has identical HP and Subspecies’ effect.
  • For 3 AP the [Incubation Chamber] can create up to 4 copies of the trapped [Kikai Swarm], destroying the Incubation Chamber and releasing the trapped [Kikai Swarm].

Pheromone Release applies the following appropriate affect:
  • Focused Pheromone - The [Incubation Chamber] may create 1 [Kikai Swarm] copy at 0 AP timing once every 5 seconds.
  • Scatter Pheromone - The [Incubation Chamber] may create one [Kikai Swarm] copy over the user’s [Kikai Swarm] maximum. This swarm dispurses if the Pheromone is changed.
  • Aggression Pheromone - The [Kikai Swarm] copy released from the [Incubation Chamber] may make a free Basic Strike against a target upon release.

Cost: 2.5 AP and 730 CP, 365 CP/rnd

Notes:
  • This is a Creation Technique.
  • Incubation Chamber Technique may only be used with the user's [Kikai Swarm].
  • Trapping the user's [Kikai Swarm] does not require a check.
  • [Kikai Swarms] created by the [Incubation Chamber] cannot be used with Kikai Swarm Recall special action.
  • [Kikai Swarms] created by the [Incubation Chamber] do not count towards the Kikai Swarm limit.
  • Aggression Pheromone’s free Basic Strike does not count against the user’s free Basic Strike limit.
  • If the [Incubation Chamber] is destroyed, the trapped [Kikai Swarm] becomes a valid target again.

Plague of Kikai - Non-Elemental Ninjutsu
By unleashing every single mature Kikai within their body, the Aburame-Hashoku can engulf the battlefield in the blink of an eye. Tiny swarming bodies darken the skies with their unfathomable numbers. Nowhere is safe from this all consuming swarm as Kikai engulf the landscape.

Rank 1/2/3: The user consumes an active [Kikai Swarm] to create a Plague of Kikai terrain effect. Rank 3 allows Plague of Kikai to be affected by Pheromone Release Technique. The Terrain and Visibility modifier is lowered by 1/2/3 steps. Each other participant in battle must succeed a Ninjutsu Check against the user every 10 seconds. On a failed check the target takes basic strike damage at 3, 6 and 9 seconds, that applies Chakra bite and is made with the user’s Ninjutsu Accuracy.

Special Action - Sweeping Recall: The user can spend 1 AP reflexively and reduce the remaining time of Plague of Kikai by 10 seconds, to make an attack against any targets that failed their Ninjutsu Check. A target hit by this attack takes CP Damage equal to 5%/10%/15% of their maximum CP. This special action can only be used successfully on a target once per battle.

Pheromone Release applies the following appropriate affect:
  • Focused Pheromone - The user’s Aburame Bloodline Techniques are modded as 0.5 AP timing faster.
  • Scatter Pheromone - All Offensive Techniques made against the user have a +10% auto-miss chance.
  • Aggression Pheromone - The user may make a free Basic Strike with up to 5 active [Kikai Swarms] once every 5 seconds. These attacks do not apply Chakra Bite.

Cost: 3 AP and 2420 CP + 1 Kikai Swarm.

Note:
  • This is a Terrain Technique.
  • The user is not affected by the Terrain and Visibility modifier changes when targeting other participants within the battlefield.
  • Plague of Kikai’s Basic Strike damage cannot be buffed other than Pheromone Release Technique’s affects.
  • Plague of Kikai lasts for 30 seconds and is not a maintained effect.
  • Plague of Kikai counts as one [Kikai Swarm] towards the user’s [Kikai Swarm] maximum.
  • Aggression Pheromone’s free Basic Strike does not count against the user’s free Basic Strike limit.
  • Aggression Pheromone may only be used once per target per 10 seconds.

Sochukon
There is a small and unrecognised branch of the Aburame Bloodline, they are called the Sochukon. On rare occasions, an Aburame's body will eventually become incompatible to host their own Kikai nest, these unfortunates are usually shunned or exiled. Though no longer accepted by the Aburame Clan, there are those Souchukon who go on to forge a new path, embracing their bloodline aberration by taking up specially modified weapons to house their Kikai Swarms and adapting their Aburame Techniques to grant them powers akin to and sometimes exceeding those of their denied heritage.

Hive Weapon - Passive
Due to their inability to contain Kikai within their own body, the Sochukon-Aburame must keep their Kikai housed within weapons. These portable hives allow them to still make use of Kikai, augmenting them through hive weaponry.

Rank 1/2/3: The user's Hive Body Ability now applies the additional CP cost while maintaining any [Augmented Kikai Swarms] , but no longer takes additional damage from Chakra Burn. The user’s Kikai Swarm - Passive now creates [Augmented Kikai Swarms] instead of [Kikai Swarms]. When the user uses an Offensive Taijutsu Technique, they may spend 3% max CP to create 1 [Augmented Kikai Swarm] as part of the attack for no additional AP. [Augmented Kikai Swarms] retains the same Taijutsu subtype as the weapon, and gains the effects of 1/2/3 of the user’s currently equipped weapon’s augments.

Notes:
  • [Augmented Kikai Swarms] count as a [Kikai Swarm] and all rules and limits related to [Kikai Swarm] still apply.
  • [Augmented Kikai Swarms] keep the augments and damage type they were created with even if the user changes weapons

Essence Extraction - Passive
Their in depth knowledge of their own specialized Kikai subspecies has allowed the Sochukon-Aburame to discover a newfound power, allowing their Kikai to draw out Chakra Essences from others, fueling their own strength beyond their normal limits.

Rank 1/2/3: When the user makes a Basic Strike, the user may perform a Called Shot with a single [Augmented Kikai Swarm] against a target. On a successful hit, the [Augmented Kikai Swarm] used for this technique is Recalled and the user gains the [Essence] buff for 10/15/20 seconds corresponding to the same Called Shot Location.
  • Arms or Hands - The user gains +2 Acc/Gen DC (Offensive Buff)
  • Legs or Feet - The user gains +2 Dodge/Gen Save. (Defensive Buff)
  • Head - The user’s techniques are modded at 0.5 AP timing faster (Speed Buff)
  • Neck - The user gains +10% Damage buff. (Offensive buff)
  • Heart - The user gains HP equal to 10% of all damage dealt with [Augmented Kikai Swarms]. (Healing buff)

Notes:
  • The [Augmented Kikai Swarm] is recalled using the [Kikai Swarm] Recall special action automatically on a successful hit.
  • Essence Extraction retains the accuracy penalty from a normal Called Shot.
  • Essence Extraction does not require a Called Shot roll and succeeds on a full hit.
  • Essence Extraction does not apply any Called Shot effect outside of gaining an [Essence].
  • If the user has the Called Shot Ability, and then a normal Called Shot attempt will also occur on a full hit.
  • The user may have a maximum of 2 [Essence] at a time.
  • The user may have a maximum of one of each type of [Essence] buff at a time.

Kikai Strike - Variable Taijutsu
The Sochukon-Aburame is able to mark an opponent with pheromones to instruct an Augmented Kikai Swarm to attack on its own, whipping them into a frenzy.
Rank 1/2/3: Targets a hostile target at +2 Acc dealing 1500/1875/2250 Physical Damage using a [Augmented Kikai Swarm].

Special Action - Sacrificial Swarm: The user may expend an [Augmented Kikai Swarm] to add its remaining HP as damage to Kikai Strike's Damage.

Cost: 2.25 AP and 740 CP

Notes:
  • This Taijutsu subtype matches the weapon used for it.
  • The additional damage from the Sacrificial Swarm special action cannot be buffed in any way.

Living Armament - Buffing Taijutsu
Unlike regular Kikai, the Sochukon-Aburame have trained their Kikai to evolve into sturdier insects, that they then use to encase themselves as a pseudo-armor, able to transform the swarm into a deadly living weapon at will.

Rank 1/2/3: The user expends an [Augmented Kikai Swarm] to apply the following effects for 10/20/30 seconds.
  • The user may reflexively use Essence Extraction on a random limb when attacked.
  • The user gains +1 [Essence] maximum.
  • The user gains Temporary HP equal to the [Augmented Kikai Swarm]’s remaining HP.
  • The user creates a passively equipped Living Weaponwhen cast:
    • Living Weapon: Follows Weapon Creation Rules with 1/2/3 augments. This weapon is considered an [Augmented Kikai Swarm] for the purpose of all Aburame Bloodline abilities.

Cost: 2.25 AP and 410 CP/rnd, 1 [Augmented Kikai Swarm]

Notes:
  • May be maintained for a maximum of 30 seconds
  • Any effects or techniques that would normally apply to or require a [Kikai Swarm] may now directly be used by or apply to the user. (Eg Chakra Bite, Pheromone Release applying to the user, etc)
  • The Temporary HP gained from the [Augmented Kikai Swarm] is not lost at the end of the round, only once depleted by damage.
  • Ending the Living Armament Technique will remove any [Essence] over the user’s new maximum. The user may choose which [Essence] is lost or it will be determined randomly.
  • Attacks made with the Living Weapon treat the user as the source of the attack for conditionals.
  • While Living Armament is maintained, the Living Weapon does not end if another weapon is equipped.

Breath of the Kikai - Buffing Taijutsu
A Sochukon-Aburame can enter an extreme state of focus that heightens their overall capability and resonates it towards their Kikai, enhancing any Essence they had previously harvested and pushing towards greater benefits.

Rank 1/2/3: The user gains +2 [Essence] maximum. The user may now combine 2 or more [Essences] to make a stronger buff which replaces the original effect. The user may choose to upgrade their Essence Buff upon use of Breath of the Kikai or when a new [Essence] is received.
  • Offensive and Defensive Buff: The user receives +3 Dodge/Gen Save and +3 Accuracy/Gen DC.

Rank 3 allows [I]Plague of Kikai[/I]  to be affected by [I]Pheromone Release[/I] Technique. The [I]Terrain[/I] and [I]Visibility[/I] modifier is lowered by 1/2/3 steps. Each other participant in battle must succeed a Ninjutsu Check against the user every 10 seconds. On a failed check the target takes basic strike damage at 3, 6 and 9 seconds, that applies [I]Chakra bite[/I] and is made with the user’s Ninjutsu Accuracy.

[B]Special Action[/B] - [I]Sweeping Recall:[/I] The user can spend 1 AP reflexively and reduce the remaining time of [I]Plague of Kikai[/I] by 10 seconds, to make an attack against any targets that failed their Ninjutsu Check.
