History: Bankai was experimented on as a child. His memories are all just flashes of his former life while he is asleep. He did not know his name or knew he even had one until he met his adopted father on the road one faithful day who gave him a name. His name as he was once called ES-1 by his superiors simply meaning "Experiment Subject One" being the first of his kind was before meeting his adopted father. His home was a laboratory, a place where love and compassion were non existent. He remembered the things they told him about what a soldier is supposed to be like, nothing more than a slave that had no authority to question superiors and must obey their commands on a whim. Even though he was taught to kill persons under orders, his conscience knew what he was doing was wrong until he was ordered to kill a small child. A child that even his cold hearted nature knew did not deserve to die. Upon refusal of such an order, his superiors ordered his ex communication and subsequent execution. Bankai escaped from this badly wounded in his escape attempt and it was at this point he met his adoptive father who tried his best in inculcate certain traits that most people would be familiar with such as kindness, compassion, loyalty and to do things not out of compulsion but out of free will. Bankai enjoys the sand and its rich color even though seemingly devoid of life, can move and bend in the wind just as he is.
