Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

“Since we are so over the class time I will just wrap this up with one more landmark with a bit of history or mythology mixed in, it depends on who you ask which it is.

Momentum Deo. It is the tallest mountain in our country and either the most dangerous to climb or the second of a more mythical peak truly exists. Momentum Deo stands out more for how it doesn’t really make much sense from a scientific standpoint, rather it ignores a few scientific laws for how rapidly the temperature drops the higher you climb it. The legend the shinobi before us passed down to explain this says the god Raiden himself, when he still walked among mortals, pulled the mountain from the ground over three days in a frankly ludicrous demonstration of ninjutsu and altered the weather around the mountain permanently as a challenge for the shinobi after him to overcome. The legends of Raiden actually detail a few such challenges those this is perhaps the most iconic. While the idea of anyone being able to raise a five mile mountain from the ground is frankly impossible by the standards we measure shinobi with today… well the dating of the rock and soul at the base of the mountain compared to that around it would suggest that we can’t really rule out that possibility. The rock also gets younger the farther you go up and for some reason the mountain has shown no signs of erosion as far as we have been examining it.

But more mysterious than how anyone could actually make such a mountain themselves is the change in conditions as you climb. The five mile height itself is rather intimidating though if that were all most shinobi could climb it without too much effort with proper training and even a few hobbyist climbers among those without chakra talent though for them especially the thinning of oxygen as you go up gets terribly rough. If you climb too fast it can do terrible things to your body, kill you even if you don’t take a few days to acclimatize near certain height marks that grow more frequent the higher you climb. Then there is the cold. At its warmest the base of the mountain is about… let’s use fahrenheit since it makes the scale a bit more noticeable… 28 degrees is the record high temperature in the middle of the warm season, and during the warm season it drops about 3.5 degrees every thousand feet you climb. Our warm season is only about 3-4 months of course. During the winter, stormy, and second winter seasons… Well it starts off, let’s say 10 degrees for the record high for a winter season and it drops 5 degrees… consistently… for every thousand feet you climb, which goes back to the unnaturally cold bit.” Osu watched the students process that for a 26000+ tall mountain. "That is before factoring wind chill."

“As far as I know, there are no records of anyone attempting the climb in the season of storms, making it beyond the second mile, and living to tell the tale. But we do have on record that while the first mile or so follows the same 5 degree drop average, for the second mile it starts to drop at an increasing rate. Again this leads us to at least consider the possibility of divine attributes since… well frankly it is nonsensical no matter how you examine it, it simply shouldn’t exist. Even with the explanation of chakra usage, that would have been more than a millennia ago, and based on reports from sensor shinobi there are no traces of chakra maintaining the effect.Terribly frustrating…

Ah but if any of you go sightseeing in the future keep in mind that even in the warm season the first mile of the mountain is an A class winter survival zone, beware of avalanches, the local wildlife, and frostbite and perhaps hire a local to guide you. Any other time of the year it is best to just admire from a distance.”

Osu looked at the class, the clock, and the twins before finally sighing. “We really got off track today, but class is over. I will now be answering questions if you have any but otherwise you are free to go.”

[OOC: Got sick, better now. Forgive the rough post and possible spelling mistakes. I wrote it super quick to get you guys out of this cursed class faster. The question thing is mostly to give Abe there the chance to get one more post in. I will open a class completion thread a bit later after I get some other posts done or honestly you can just link here in your trainings if you get you final posts done and are impatient.]

She couldn’t help it, the taste of freedom was already on her tongue. Instead of lingering around to pose more questions she gathered her things, threw a wide grin into Oushi’s direction and was out of the door with a polite nod toward the teacher.

The mountain was another thing she would have to think of. The legend of it being raised from nothing by one man was one she would have to read up on for sure. In fact, she thought to have vaguely heard about it, but not enough to remember the details of. Perhaps, sometime soon, she could go there with Oushi, Yosuke, Shiori, and perhaps someone else. It would be a fun trip to say the least. A challenging one as well, she was sure of that.

It had made no difference to Oushi how long the class went on for. He had chosen to be here for it after all. In the end though, the class did have to come to an end eventually like most other things. Osu-sensei had little more information to spare though, so the purple haired boy sat quietly and paid attention to what he had to say. Quickly, he made a note in his book about it being either history or mythology, writing a couple of question marks after it.

His gaze was slowly drawn upward from his notebook to Osu, the man’s words hitting him hard. It was beyond him how a man could manage creating a whole mountain, not to mention it being the tallest in the country, by use of ninjutsu. The boy’s mouth was open slightly, trying to process this information. Of course, Raiden wasn’t just a man...he was a god. Even if he practiced his earth justu day and night, he would never be able to alter the earth in a way to make something of its equal. On top of that, the climate was ultimately insane, and unnatural. It was amazing that anyone ever even considered making the trek up there, and someone had to of course, otherwise how would they know such information.

Oushi firmly closed his mouth and gulped, looking back down at his notebook to madly scribble down all the fine details Osu-sensei spoke of, especially all of the cautionary warnings. He wondered if he’d ever find himself tackling the challenge of Momentum Deo. It seemed so out of his reach from where he stood on the power scale. His caramel brown eyes wandered down to his hands, trying to envision himself creating a mountain, let alone a hill with ninjutsu. It certainly wasn’t what he aspired to do with his earth jutsu, but it was still a revealing thought.

Before the boy knew it, the class was officially over and he was disrupted from his train of thought. They were free to go now unless they wished to stay behind and ask a few questions. It was tempting, but the urge to train rose within him and beat out the thirst for new knowledge. Tucking his notebook under his arm, he looked to see Shizuka getting up to leave as well. She was a lot more eager than he to remove herself from the classroom in order to taste freedom, showing the purple haired boy a wide grin before she out the door. Oushi softly sighed to himself, wondering if she had actually paid attention to the lesson. He carefully excused himself with plenty of spare space between him and any remaining girls in the classroom, slipping out of the rows of desks. Just before exiting the room, Oushi turned and bowed to Osu-sensei and then left.

Saki barely stifled a yawn. She did not like classes that were simply lectures. Listening as the teacher kept on talking she began to regret coming. Right now the teacher was talking about some mountain. The only thing that was interesting about it was how cold it was. Dropping 5 degrees for every thousand feet was excessive. She made note to never try to go up it. Climbing had never really interested her and she did not like extreme cold. Sure she could deal with it like anyone else who grew up in Lightning but that didn’t mean she had to like it.

The class itself had been pretty boring but at least she got a few things out of it. Her family taught there own geography as well, mostly where to go in whatever city/area you were in, where the best places are, and the closets safe houses. Useful stuff, at least more useful than what was taught in the lecture. The teacher for this class had been very in detail, much more so than her family.

Saki quickly looked at the clock and winced. The lesson had gone quite a bit over the expected end time. She was not looking forward to going home and having to explain why she had not been home when she said she would be. Looking up as the teacher sighed. It seemed the class had finally ended. She stood as the class was dismissed and bowed politely to the teacher before heading home.
