Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

A messenger knocked on Tensai’s door. He had been instructed to deliver a file folder to the young shinobi. Inside said folder he’d find information on the mission he had just been assigned to. Apparently there had been incidents around town, fires getting started, and food getting stolen. Tensai would have to bring the suspect in for questioning. After delivering the file folder to Tensai, the messenger dashed off to see to his other deliveries.
File folder contents said:
Yamakazi_zpsa7116a6c.jpg
Name: Yamakazi Tetsuya.
Village: Kumogakure.
Status: Wanted alive.

Last Seen: Suburbs of Kumogakure.
Charges: Theft, vandalism, arson.
Description of charges: Known to have stolen food and pickpocket. Often lighting things on fire, and writing vulgarities on walls. Has lit a warehouse and nearby buildings on fire, causing harm to property.

Meanwhile…

A spiky-haired youth was in the middle of writing obscenities on a wall in the suburbs of Kumogakure. He cackled at his profane work and stood back to admire it. ”Fuck! This is the best I’ve written yet!” he shouted and then ran off to write something new, on another wall, on a nearby building, completely ignoring every single person whining about what he was doing.

Things had been strange ever since everyone vanished a couple of days ago. Silence was usually something he treasured, but as of late it was becoming maddening. It was hard to become motivated, and he was starting to sleep in more. Without his mother and siblings making the usual morning sounds around the place, getting up felt like a pointless endeavor. There was no delicious smell of breakfast to help motivate him either, and most of all, he missed his family.

While laying there, eyes closed and trying to fall into the realm of sleep once more, he heard a knock at the door. For a while, he didn't move due to wondering whether or not he was imagining it. Once the knock came again, he wondered if it was his family. Had they returned from wherever they'd gone, and only forgotten their key? It was an absolutely hopeless and unrealistic thought, but anything was better than nothing. Having been already quite dressed, wearing jeans and a simple white shirt, he'd roll out of bed to the door.

He was greeted by a messenger, and the hope that grew within his heart shrunk and shivered. "Nobody." He thought to himself, all the while barely listening to the person before him. He picked up on the important things though, and accepted the file graciously. He was surprised though, an actual mission had been requested of him and he hadn't even obtained his forehead protector. For a quick moment, he wondered how Shashu would react to the news. It was something apparently small-time, but it was a thousand times more than someone who hadn't participated in exams could have expected. "Yamakazi Tetsuya..." The name settled in his brain for a moment as he stood there barefoot, holding the files.
---
He had suited up and was already moving through the suburbs. He hadn't bothered changing into anything else, only putting on a pair of black boots and strapping his belt pouch around his waist. He'd seem so plain, for a Shinobi at least. Instead of making a big entrance, he moved through the normal crowds steadily avoided conversation with anyone. His eyes were busy seeking a target, one with red hair and emerald eyes. After some time, he could hear commotion around the corner and sped up his step to see what it was all about Hitting the corner, Tensai saw the spiky-haired target vandalizing a nearby building. People were complaining and talking about it, but no one seemed to be doing anything.

Taking his time, he'd move closer and closer as the young man continued his spectacle for all to see. Once he was close enough, Tensai would flow through zodiac signs quickly and quietly. There would be no grand display of elemental force, for his energy had been put to use in a more subtler way. If things went well, the target should start to feel drowsy. There was a number of things Tensai could have done, but with Tetsuya enthralled in the vandalism it was unlikely he'd notice some short kid that would blend in with the rest. Following up his attempt at making his target more easy to approach, was another Genjutsu aimed at causing Tetsuya's nerves to react as if shocked. Now, to see how his hidden actions would turn out.

Tatsuya yawned all of a sudden, then shook his head to shake it off. Then, out of nowhere he felt as if he got shocked. ”Argh! Fuck! What the hell was that?!” he yelled as he spun around and saw the onlookers. ”Was it one of you morons?” he demanded to know from the onlookers as he began coating his arms in a fire jutsu, essentially using it as flame gauntlets. If Tensai wanted to stop this guy, he’d have to act quickly before there were casualties and collateral damage, because Tatsuya had no intention of stopping at burning down houses or objects. If he had to, he’d begin burning people to get the information he wanted. In this case, who the fuck shocked him.

He picked out an easy target from the crowd, a little kid that looked to be no more than 13 years of age. As he charged at Tensai, he yelled out ”Well, if none of you fuckers want to tell me, I’ll just have to beat it out of each and every one of you until you actually TALK!” At the same time, be swung his fist against Tensai, aiming for his head, as that was the easiest target due to their difference in height.

The sudden reaction was more or less what Tensai expected, but it seemed like Tetsuya was becoming increasingly violent. Flames burst onto and around the arms of the troublemaker, who sought to take his aggression out on the crowd. By this time, Tensai's hands had already fallen limp at his sides, and he truly would seem like easy pickings. Tetsuya headed right for Tensai, and swung his blazing fist at the small white head of hair. Chakra still invisibly churned out from his body to maintain the lethargic effect, which from Tetsuya's earlier yawn apparently worked.

Just before the flaming fist would make contact, there was a cloud of smoke that swallowed the weak-looking boy whole. Tetsuya's fist would hit nothing but smoke, while standing behind him was Tensai. As he ran through his zodiac seals, his mind raced. This young man he was dealing with had a serious problem, with no regard for anyone else. It was one thing to vandalize inanimate objects, but it was a whole new thing to threaten a crowd of people. Halfway through he would inhale quickly an silently before blowing out a powerful mist that shot out like a bullet. After using a few techniques, his energy was hot and the need to flip through pointless seals was temporarily gone.

The ground beneath Tetsuya would begin to slip and slide, churning about slowly in an attempt to ruin the boy's footing. In a similar fashion to the way in which Tetsuya had attempted to assault him, Tensai would step forward and swing a mean hook across the air. The action would cause the earth near Tetsuya to rise like a fist with every intention of hitting hard enough to break a bone if possible. There were too many people around to let it all drag out much further, but for now he'd run out of time to react. Still, his mind was already planning the next several steps.

[The lack of hand seals is something I RP from time to time, absolutely no bearing on the actual battle system as I'm sure you know.]

Tetsuya was surprised at Tensai’s sudden dissapearance and spun around, only to be hit by a bullet of mist and thrown backwards into a wall. The wall stopped him from falling, and he began running towards Tensai, completely ignoring the loose ground as he was used to such things. However Tensai swung out to try and hit Tetsuya and that just wouldn’t do. Tetsuya was used to street combat, and as such easily dodged the swing, as well as the earth. He swung out to hit Tensai with his flaming hands, and managed to hit him in the chest and even push him back quite a bit.

He grinned ”You’re not bad, kid. But I’m better! Fuck!” he shouted at Tensai, as he lunged at the kid, fully intent on punching him into a bloody burnt pulp on the ground. He could, however, feel that his fire jutsu was nearing its end and that it’d have to be re-cast to be as effective as before. First I’ll get that little brat. Then I’ll get the people in the crowd… Then, I’ll burn this entire town down! Fuck yes, a brilliant plan! was the trail of thought that went on inside his twisted mind.

Unexpectedly, the pyromaniac evaded Tensai's combination with unprecedented nimbleness. Before he knew it a flaming fist slammed into his chest, the burning knuckles scorching his shirt. He didn't attempt to resist the punch, letting himself be pushed back even more so than he would have any way. By moving with the momentum of the punch, the impact force would decrease accordingly. Slightly kicking himself into the air as he stumbled from the blow, he'd land in a crouched position with one hand to the earth. His chest ached somewhat, and by the feel of gentle breeze against his skin he'd know some of his shirt had been scorched.

On pure instinct, he returned Tetsuya's grin, a sign that he was enjoying it to some degree. The shouting would receive no verbal response, only a subtle scoff. His opponent's swing was wild and hurried, although quick. Opting to remain on the defensive, Tensai slid one foot backwards as he leaned out of the punch's path. In such close proximity, he'd attempt to sneak an elbow into Tetsuya's ribs while he'd spun away. Instead of stopping, he'd roll into a sprint and suddenly split into three. All of them would suddenly spin, tossing out small crystalline spheres at Tetsuya from three different directions. Of course, only one of them was real.

As the sphere would make impact, Tensai and his clones would continue to spin from the momentum of the toss. In their wild spin, two blue flashing spheres were flung from each simultaneously (Of course, only two of the six were real and fully charged.). They'd hurt, but the concussive force shouldn't be enough to do any permanent damage. The clones would continue circling Tetsuya, changing directions and crossing paths with one another in a sporadic manner contrary the calm expression on their faces.

Tatsuya got hit in the ribs and that took him by surprise. He stopped his moving around and tried to relocate Tensai, but then all of a sudden, the damn kid split into three. Tetsuya bubbled with rage and threw a fireball at one of them, but it missed completely. Then, the Tensais began spinning and they threw three spheres at him, the two fakes one hit, but he dodged the real one. However, the next six spheres all hit, the first real one in the chest, the other in the head. It was enough to knock Tatsuya out cold, yet due to his street brawler attitude he stayed standing, only slumped over for a few minutes, before finally sinking onto his knees and toppling over on the street. Mission accomplished.

[Mission complete. Deliver his sorry ass at the prison, or at the anbu for them to handle the rest.]

Deciding not to fight his opponent in a straightforward manner proved effective. The three copies came to a slow stop, leaving a small cloud of dust in his wake while they all raised their left hands to cover their faces. As Tetsuya shut down, Tensai's clones would fade away from existence and leave him standing in front of his opponent. Eventually, the troublemaker fell over and it was all over. Not wasting much time, Tensai walked over, and reached into his belt pouch. He'd tie up the arms and legs, before blindfolding him with a piece of cloth torn from the hem of Tensai's shirt. With a little effort, he'd hoist the body over his shoulders and start walking away. The folder he'd been given earlier had all the information he needed, including where to drop the target off. Sooner or later he'd reach the Sileo Tempestas, and hand him off to the Anbu. He'd wait around for the necessary procedures and protocols, and then he'd return to his empty little home...
