Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Asuka stood at the top of a tree overlooking the Santaru estate, she had been doing this for a bit now, learning the patterns on people coming and leaving. She wasn't exactly 100% sure this would work but it would be one hell of a "heist". She placed on her mask and smiled, this was it.

giphy.gif

Firstly Asuka looked for the main estate, which usually was the biggest one. Where her sister lived. Asuka teleported to the Santaru clan entrance, the roof of it to be precise, and scanned around her sourroundings. Allright, no guards in sight. With that she jumped down, running across the open plans to the main house, unfortunately she couldn't teleport inside the sate since she's never seen it from the inside and without knowing who was behind it, it was a risk teleporting inside.

With a sigh she kept going, dodging from one tree to another, avoiding the guards that were walking around, thankfully she had gotten quite good at using stealth as her friend. She took a small break once she got to hearing distance from the estate. She didn't hear anything so she deemed it safe to go in. Looking down at her belt she had one simple storage scroll in there. A storage scroll that had different color bombs, or rather.... glitter bombs. She had come up with the idea thanks to her Little Sister Kotori who stated "Instead of going KABOOM! Why not it just sends sparkles everywhere!" She had found the idea quite amusing and decided to build them. In reality it wasn't that hard, it just needed a lot of glitter and enough firepower to fire them everywhere. She had tested it beforehand and they were harmless.... just left a big mess.

With a giggle Asuka took into the estate, looking around the halls for anything that would be set off an alarm. She unscrolled the storage and sent Chakra to it. Almost instantly there was a puff of smoke and then it started. To make this part faster Asuka simply teleported around, placing Glitter Bombs in strategic places where it would leave more of a mess.

She had left a timer on the glitter bombs which would give her enough time to escape before they went off she didn't want to get covered in glitter did she. So, she had placed the bombs down so the radius of one hit the other. Thankfully she had brought enough, just when she was about done Asuka did the smart thing and went to the kitchen, stealing a couple of cookies before she left out the back door and sprinted towards the nearest three. And she was able to hear the small explosions going on, even better. The mountains of color that went up in the air and settled on the ground. This would be quite a mess to clean up.

Nibachi strode around the clan grounds doing his rounds jerking a guard awake who seemed to be asleep. The head of the estate was away and as such, it fell on him to ensure the security of the clan was paramount. Ensuring the guard would not sway from his duties, the man turned to proceed inside the clan residence, his eye catching something sinsiter. A figure? One second, it seemed to be there and then the next second, nothing! His awareness aroused, he beckoned to the guards behind him and broke out in a jog towards the main residence, his spear in hand as he burst inside."What in the name of Kirin are these contraptions?!"He said his pupils catching sight of the mysterious glitter bombs. Poking one with a spear, it seemed to offer no reaction but he was not satisifed yet. They were not here when he had conducted his rounds just a hour ago. Beckoning to the guards behind him, Nibachi strode forward scanning the halls when his eyes fell on the entryway to the kitchen. The figure of a person could be seen. He grinned, a devlish smile as he approached, his footsteps light swiftly turning into the kitchen area, his eyes falling on the masked intruder.

"What, pray tell, are you up to on this fine night, stranger?"Nibachi said as he and two of the clan guards unsheathed their blades approaching this intruder. The butler pointed his spear at the man, his vein popping in and out. Before he could utter an word, several light explosions rattled the estate and instantly, the hallways are alight with color."If you had anything to do with this,
I promise you, judgment will not be light. Hold this savage here."
Nibachi went to inspect the corridors and took in the scene, the rage building up inside him."GET THAT RASCAL OUT HERE NOW! I WANT THE MEANING OF THIS."He said furiously slamming a hand into the wall. He had heard of similar incidents occuring at other clan compounds but never dreamed one would target this small estate. He knew not who was behind them but he was about to find out."Right,
Should I take that mask off or will you be a nice person and do it?"
Nibachi said, a hand reaching out to grab the mask.

Asuka clinched her teeth once she heard the voice of the guy, god damn it... she wasn't fast enough. She could have gone it from a different direction but it was too late now. With a sigh she lowered her head, but it seemed her sister wasn't around. Just her relative. But it did hit her a bit the wrong way when he called her a savage, that was kind of uncalled for.

"Oh stupid little Santaru." Asuka giggled looking up at the man. "Criminal sure, savage is taking it a bit too far old man."

Asuka simply smiled as she was taken to the hallway, but her face changed once the man reached to take out her mask. With a quick movement she grabbed his arm before it could reach her. "Nice person is a very vague way to describe little ol' me." She giggled a bit harder, "My masks stays with me." She pushed his arm away and dodged the blades of the guards. She didn't want to fight them, one thing was doing a prank. Another entirely beating someone up. With a giggle she sprinted through the house and out the door. "Catch me if you caaaaannnn!" She yelled out while sprinting through the grounds.

Nibachi's lip curled in a smirk as Asuka wrenched free from his grasp and took off throughout the estate. Hadning his spear to the guard, he spoke calmly."Order the gates be shut and the clan head be summoned at once. I have a fair idea I know who this is."Judging from the voice, it was a female. He had heard it before...at the gates. It had to be. Strolling after the sprinting Uchiha, he watched as she got further and further away from him. Grinning, he placed both his hands on the ground and instantly the surface began shaking."Lightning Style...Thunderdome!"A giant sphere of lightning erupted from the dirt surronding the estate with the abilty to fry anyone who dared touch or come in contact with it. Snapping his fingers, his spear was returned to him and began to walk towards the accursed intruder shaking his head."This dome is made of pure chakra based lightning.
Any attempt to pass through it will result in electorcution. You are going to be held here until Soku-sama arrives. We will see what she has to say about all this. Until then, do us a favor and stop hiding your face behind that mask, little one."

He was mad already. Now, he was just ticked off she had tried to run. "This could have been so much easier. You made it this way."Slinging his spear on his back, he crossed hus arms glaring down at the girl. As the most senior clansmen and Sokus personal second in command of the clan, he was charged with the security of the estate and had failed in that task."How did you get in here anyways? This estate may be small but we have no shortage of guards. I can not believe you snuck past them unkess you're some type of ANBU which I highly doubt."He said snorting. The Captain would not be pleased when she arrived. He had seen her anger before and it was not a pretty sight. He clouds over them began to darken and occasional flashes of thunder began to appear. She was near and from the looks of things, not happy. He glanced up at the thunderclouds."Well, I think we are about to find out what happens to self-entitled brats like yourself, arent we, child?"

Asuka kept running, a smile on her face. For the first time in a while she was having fun, but unfortunatley it was cut short as soon as a wall of lightning almost hit her in the face. "Hey!"She complained turning around to face the man with a pouty face. "You could have hit me with that!" But her pouty face dissapeared, she sighed taking off the mask. "Wasn't that good of a disguise anyway." She said letting her hair fly free, taking of the robes she carried to reveal the Kimono. "Oh? Big sis is coming!" More giggles followed as she layed down in the soft grass.

"Easier? It's no fun if I just give in. Besides...." She laughed "You should've seen your face when you called me a rascal."

Asuka raised one hand without looking at Nibachi. "Never underestimate your opponent Butler!" She stated with pride. "I simply walked into the estate. I am quite skillful at finding flaws with security. Yours is simple, you spend too much time trying to stop thiefs from coming in that you left your main gate wiiidddeeee open!" She giggled once more before lowering her hand.

She did shiver a bit once the thunder clouds started to roll in... oh she wasn't happy. "Self-entitled?" Asuka laughed, cleaning a tear out of her eye. This guy was ridicoulous. "I'm an idiot dude, through and through.

Nibachi began to say something when a shadow fell over both of them. A figure was approaching and instantly Nibachi fell silent stepping back as the guards snapped to attention. A hand shot out seizing Asuka's shoulder gripping it in a strong palm. The voice was thick with anger and harshness as it spoke."Get walking. Don't even think about the gates, I promise you will not make it anywhere near those, child. You know why...because USUALLY PEOPLE AREN'T THIS STUPID. I HAVE HALF A MIND TO ELECTROCUTE YOU WHERE YOU STAND."She began escorting the girl in front of her nodding to the guardsmen and Nibachi who quickly disappeared from view. They entered the main residence and she pointed to a open area where there lay a straw mat."Go stand over there and wait. I'll be back in a second. If you attempt to run, I promise you all that beautiful hair will be no more."She disappeared into a nearby room and strode back in holding two sharpened swords, one, which she tossed to the Uchiha caring not if she caught it or not."Right, fight me. No fancy ninjutsu or genjutsu, just some old fashioned sword fighting. I think it is time I stopped being this nice person. I'll show you discipline the way Nibachi used to when he trained me. Try not to die."It was more of a intimidation factor, she wouldnt actually hurt the girl but it was time to open her eyes to reality. These things had to stop. They may be fun but in dire times like these, it was not needed. Frost could launch a attack at any time and if they chose to now, here she was dealing with trivial matters that could be avoided. It took away from time and resources and she intended to end this here and now.

"You know what, here."Slicing off a piece of her fabric, Soku wrapped it around her eyes essentialy blinding her and preventing her from using her Sharingan to antcipate attacks."I hope you learn a lesson or two in what I am doing here because after I am through with you after this spar, we have some discussing to do and I have a assignment for you. But first, I need to take out my anger and this is the perfect way. The fact that the blindfold is on just makes this more easy. I really dont want to do this but I feel like you need a bit of a wake-up call, something your other superiors have failed to do so."Blindfolded, she began to step forward slowly, her sword held by both hands as her ears listened for the sound for the girl's breathing, the steel of the sword glinting in the sun pouring in from the windows. Nibachi watched from a shadowy corner of the room horrified. So many things could go wrong here. These were actual blades, not training material. He only hoped this would not end up in a hospital trip."I did warn you, foolish, little Uchiha."He muttered under his breath leaning against the wall. His fingers drummed the tip of his spear as he watched the conflict unfold.

Asuka shivered as she felt the shadow falling over her. "Here we go." She stated once before she was janked upward, Soku screaming in her ear, pretty much what everyones been saying to her as of late. With good reason. But anyway, as she followed her into the main house Asuka decided to do a little conversation. "How you been Sis?" She asked, no answer given back to her. "I do hope you like the colors, it's a little bit of interior design..." She sighed and stopped talking, in this kind of event it was better to just... let everything curse through. She did wonder what Soku had in mind.

"Gonna give me a hair-cut?" She asked giggling, it was probably not a good idea to rifle her up but it was kind of fun. But well, she did as she was told and followed her into the Santaru estate. She had to admit, it was quite impressive. A lot of work had been placed into this home, that much had to be seen. But her carefree expression changed when her sister threw the Sword at her feet.... now this changed things. "Try not to die... huh...." Those words did kind of sting, but not enough to show any kind of change.

She thought about it for a bit, with a long sigh Asuka pinched her nose. She picked up the sword and looked at it for a bit, it was indeed sharp. This wasn't a sword used for training, but a weapon of war. Apparently she was going to do this... there was no way around it. She heard the rest of her speech, this wasn't a spar. This was a punishment, something she was going to be forced to do.She lowered her arm, ready for her next move. In a quick movement Asuka moved her hand back upwards, throwing the sword and it landed on Soku's feet. "I'm not fighting you. You're not my enemy." With a pouty face she teleported away.

The room was silent for a bit, about a minute back she came back with a metal canister and two cups. She sat down and placed the second cup in front of her. Grabbed the canister and poured hot liquid into the cup in her hands. Oh, tea... the divine drink. "You want to take out your anger. Punch a pillow. Or punch me, whatever suits you better." She spoke with taking a sip from the tea. "Would appreciate if you didn't insult my superiors, not their fault. I'm just stubborn." The carefree attitude return afterwards, her torso moving slightly side to side happily, apparently she was enjoying the tea. "Sorry Butler! I didn't bring a third cup. But you can have tea if you want. It's sooo good!" She took another sip, closing her eyes with a pleased smile on herself.

Like moths to a flame, so drew the inquisitive nature of the Myakashi to conflict.

A small red glow outlined the pale features of the man as he drew back on the cigarette, his brown robe covering most of his features but his smirk clearly visible. He leant casually on a nearby wall, weary eyes watching as the pair started to argue... siblings by the sounds of it. Normally such affairs would not be any of Migoya's business, but he was conducting research after all. He looked over towards the spear-wielding individual, giving him a slight nod in support. Or not. Either way the fact that Migoya had just 'appeared' as if from the shadows themselves, during the daytime, would be rather unsettling. He was writing in an old flip-style notepad, the cigarette hanging from his mouth as he seemed to be writing down notes.

'The effects of drawn out conflict on mental health'. That was the title of his paper. Crazy academy students, people trying to run... all symptoms of some sort of problem, and like most problems there had to be a cure. He had thought that it might be linked to a form of PTSD. The simple truth was Konoha was sick, and this conflict that was happening at the very same spot that a child was cut down was yet another example. Someone had to record it for prosperity.

He began. 'Research indicates one very clear factor that is effecting the mental stability of individuals in Konoha. A rare deformity that seems to effect the mind and heart of those who 'inherit' it. Most would call it 'Histrionic Personality Disorder'. He paused for a second before adding...

'It is otherwise known as 'Too many Uchiha.'

A small wooden puppet would clamber on his shoulder, wanting a better view of the fight. Fight, fight, fight! Mikki would intone, though only Migoya would hear the little turd.

Either way, this would be entertaining.

Soku felt the rage building up insider of her. The sheer amount of disrespect, she failed to see even the newcomer appear from the shadows. Nibachi opened his mouth to say something to Migoya but shut it deciding he was not a threat at the moment. He kept one eye on him however, his brow twitching as he gave a curt nod in return jumping as a roar was heard. It was the Santaru, with one hand, she sent the kettle of tea flying watching it shatter into pieces."Soku-sama!""Shut the hell up.""I implore you, she is only misguided. There is no need for such rash action, such is not the way of the clan!""Hold this and shut up.Speak again and I will kill you along with the girl."The spearman fell silent dropping to his knees holding his hands out as a necklace was dropped into his hands. She turned to face the bubble of joy known as Uchiha Asuka."I'm sorry, who are you again and what are you doing in my house? I was under the impression I was talking to my sister."The floorboards under the Captains feet began to crack as her fury built. A cold blast of air filled the room followed by a demonic laughing sound. A ghostly black form appeared next to the ANBU, a Youkai with sharpened talons on its hands and the rest of the spirjt was black and faceless.

"Soku-sammma, your dessire?""If this girl dares to speak again without my permisson or do any other detrimental action, remove her from my sight...permanently.""As you dessire."Soku paced the room watching the Uchiha, the Mangekyo scanning her up and down. Nibachi took one look at the spirit and with necklace in hand sprinted down the hall keen not to be a part of this. "Look at you, so happy. So joyful. You fail to see the side effects of these antics you pull and frankly, I can't blame you, you never really did have a childhood until we met. I have had to come here to deal with your foolish self. What if Frost attacks right now? We wont be prepared? You know why? We are busy here dealing with someone who clearly has no regard for authority. She stopped in front picking up the fallen sword. She had blown the last straw."I am done talking, you will not learn and I am done trying to make you listen"

The female turned away from her speaking as she did, her voice radidating coldness and a sense of harshness to it."You were nothing without me..nothing. Sure, you saved me that one time but other than that, you were a worthless little Academy student."She turned to face the girl, her hands shaking as she gripped the blade at her side."The sheer amount of disrespect you hold. Dont you dare tell me I didnt try to readh out to you after the incident, I cried for days..and this is how I get repayed. The disruption of my own home potentially endangering all within it. It woukdnt be hard for a intrudee to slip in right now but I guess thats what you want."Soku said waving a hand as if gesturing all around."You hold no emotion, no love. You are a robot who blindly follows orders. You think I am pleased with this, that just because its some tiny prank, Ill let it go. I dkdnt just build this estate for the clan. I built it to honor my late mother as well. My father was like you, a emotionless bastard who didnt care for human nature and winded up murdering my mother and leaving me with a scar. But thats alright, I guess becasue a shinobi is not supposed to think or feel, only do as they are told,
right?"
She said, her eyes threatning to burst out with angry tears. She raised a hand and sent it hard across the girls face."The Asuka I knew was much different. You're not Asuka, I dont recgonize you, you are not my sister."She repeated the last words forcefully.

Asuka took a sip once she saw the kettle flying over. With a pouty face she sighed. "That was my favorite kettle...." She giggled at the thought, she would probably need to replace it with a new one, the question was with what? But that wasn't the issue at hand, apparently her sister didn't want to sit down and discuss things.

But her expression turned from joy to confusion, thought she was talking to her sibling? Huh. Her words did sting a bit but she got over it quickly, the smile returning to her face. "Why did you take off your necklace Sis?" She asked scratching the back of her head. A confused smile on her face. But it quickly disappeared. The cup on her hand fell, shattering into pieces. Tears weld up on her eyes, she wanted to say something.... to say one thing but nothing came out. Too stunned, too overwhelmed

She never expected the harsh words that came afterwards, worthless, immature, untrustworthy. Maybe not exactly those words but they could've been said and it wouldn't make a difference. With a sigh her face turned from sadness to expressionless. So this was what it felt like. She didn't flinch once she was struck by Soku. Didn't even lift to rub the burning feeling on her cheek. She slowly stood up and bowed in respect. "I apologize for my rudeness Captain." She said in a respectful, formal manner. "No need for your contract to take me away. I'll clean up my mess and remove myself from the premises. It's clear I'm not welcomed here" With the same robotic expression she turned around and opened the door. With a sigh she turned one last time, removing the necklace from her neck that was given to her so long ago. She let it fall from her hand unto the floor. "I won't be bothering you again. If you can, send the assignment to the offices specifically requesting me. I'll get it done as soon as possible."

With a smirk she sighed. "It was fun. Thank you for everything, goodbye." With that she left the room, closing the door behind her.

That is, the door would have closed if there wasn't something... shadowy causing it to jar for a second.

A wry chuckle could be heard from within the hood of the strange man who happened to just appear in the middle of someone's private estate to watch and smoke.

"Family. Can't live with them, can't kill them indiscriminately without repercussions. What to do, what to do. Sure, you could fight, hit each other, pout and walk away or you could actually communicate with each other. Why does one feel the need to act out? Why does one need to feel superior to the other? Its clear you both care, or you wouldn't act out... Maybe you should talk... or perhaps the vaunted bravery of the Uchiha clan is simply another genjutsu trick of theirs."

Normally Migoya wouldn't get involved in the personal affairs of others, but right now there was a need for solidarity within the village, and petty family squabbles that caused lighting barriers to appear in a village under siege was, well, tiresome.

"After all... family is the most important thing. You learn that when you lose them." . The sadness in his voice was palpable.

She stared at Asuka for a moment, the rage building up inside of her. Her next actions and words struck Soku like a dagger to the chest. She found herself unable to move, for some odd reason. The sound of the door shutting jolted her back to reality as her hands began to shake."D-Dismissed."She said to her Youkai who simply nodded and faded away knowing full well not to argue or lecture the Captain on her actions in her current state. Finally, all that composure came crashing down. She slammed a fist into the wall letting loose a scream."Damn it!" Damn it, damn it , damn IT." She yelled in frustration as the tears began to flow freely down her cheeks. Why did everything had to be so diffcult all of a sudden? She slumped down on the wall feeling the bare spot on her chest where the necklace had been remembering she had given it to Nibachi.[color#000040]"She's right. I am nobody.
What right do I have over her? I'm just a monster...it was all going good...but clearly, I have not learned at all. I'm just as equally worthless.."[/color]She trailed off glancing around the room. All this had been built on bonds...bonds that now seemed to be broken. She lay there, broken, battered and mentally scarred unable to do anything anymore. She was not in control anymore. Fate had turned against her.

Nibachi sensed the outburst and thought it wise not to disturb the distressed kunoichi instead striding towards the mysterious man who happened to make it inside. That made 2 intruers, clearly, he was not doing his job tonight."Can I help you? These are private grounds."The spearman asked rather rudely intreuppting Migoya mid-sentence. As far as he knew, this estate rarely had any visitors and now was not a appropiate time for such."If you have no buisness here, the exit is that way if you were wondering."He said gesturing with his spear. It was a kind way of saying he was not welcome here at the moment. Nibachi was already ticked off as it was and he was trying to save this mans life if Soku decided to go nuts and upend everything."If you did have an appointment, consider it null and void."He said nodding wisely. The probabilty that Soku would kill them both on sight in her emotional state was looking very likely.

Asuka stood in the doorway for a while, she didn't even look at the strange man when he appeared but his words did resonate with him. Soku didn't seem to be in a good state, what should she do? For the longest time her life was a routine, her life revolved around people thinking of her as a nuisance. The pranks she did, how loud and cheerful she was, all a ruse to gain attention. Since, for her, death was but an escape, solitude was the worst punishment she could get and it seemed everything pointed to that.

Hearing Soku's screaming brought memories back to her. Soku was right on one thing, she never had a childhood. Her village destroyed, mother killed. Moved to Konoha afterwards but... being homeless wasn't exactly an upgrade. That is until Soku showed up. Afterwards everything looked up, everything became better, Asuka became happier. But she has been a fool, as soon as things turn sour she runs away, turns her back on the people that have been caring for her for so long. All because she's a nuisance. Well.... she wasn't going to run away this time. With a sigh Asuka gently grabbed the spear man's sleeve. "Hey...." She said not looking at the man "Would you mind keeping everyone away from this room for a bit." She giggled "Gotta get my butt kicked by sis." With that, she turned back and with a deep breath. Dissapearing from sight again, teleported someplace else.

A few minutes later she returned with a metal canister and two plastic cups, looked at the ground and grabbed the necklace she had dropped She saw Soku's current state and shook her head. A few minutes had probably passed once she stopped talking and things didn't look great but well.... what where siblings for. Sitting in front of the distrust captain she poured the liquid into the two cups. "Don't worry!" She said with a big smile on her face, once more placing the necklace around her neck. "No tea. This time coffee and in a metal canister with plastic cups. Wouldn't want stuff to accidently shatter again. It's a pain to find good quality kettles now a days." She giggled nervously, slowly pushing one of the cups to Soku.

"Now let's see." She thought for a few moments. "Outstanding Shinobi record, Anbu captain, excellent older sibling." She gave dramatic hand gestures to prove a point. Taking a sip from her coffee "Just being a captain makes you somebody. And the storm powers you show make you absolutely terrifying."

Asuka giggled "Remember when I almost fought Wukong at that restaurant back then." She smiled "Almost fought that monkey bastard. But, you showed up... scaring me half to death and ruining my chance to kick his butt." She gave a pouty face "Buzzkill."

Seeing no response she tried a different approach, taking another sip from her coffee. "Hey hey." She said with a smile on her face. "I did a tutor recently and told them their limbs would blow up. You should've seen the look on the students faces!" She laughed "Poor kids really thought they were going to die." She made a gesture as if cleaning a tear from her eye. "I'm a mean teacher."

Again.... Soku confirmed it. To be honest she didn't know what to say but try to make her smile in some way. It was up to Soku on what came next.

Well, at least someone spoke to him... The spearman, a guard of sorts, indicated simply that he was not wanted here, nor should he be here. Well dir...

Migoya, his head still hidden by the robe, took a drag on his cigarette and faced forward, his gaze resting on the doorway and not the one he was addressing.

"Well, normally I would not find myself on private property friend, but lightning wall jutsu cast during wartime tends to draw attention. And, well, I AM a Chief Medical Officer and it is my duty to see if there was anything I could help fix."

The hooded figure raised his head slightly, looking back at Soku, who now wept on the floor. "And it seems there are wounds here that needed tending." The smoke around Migoya drifted on the wind, carrying its way to the nose of the spearman. It clearly wasn't tobacco, but seemed to remind the man of pleasant things - the smell of warm bread, of freshly cut grass, of the scent of perfume on a woman's neck...

Asuka had stopped, had taken a few minutes before returning to go to her sister. Under the heavy hood, Migoya gave a small grin. Despite his deserved reputation, his manipulative nature, his murderous rage, his self-pitying pride, he did get joy out of 'fixing' things - especially people. And these two... well, the future held many important things for them. Perhaps. Either way they had shared so much information... useful things, just in case of...

He spoke once more to Nibachi, looking at him this time, his voice soft so the 'siblings', so much like himself and his own brother, could not hear his words.

"It would seem that the wound has been treated, but now it is up to the body to heal that which was torn asunder. My apologies for the intrusion - it seems you have things under control."

The gaze returned to siblings, overhearing something about an ANBU Captain... interesting information indeed. "Blessings to you all," he muttered under his breath as his form seemed to shift and fade into shadow, leaving the lingering scent of lilacs behind.

She was tired. Too tired to scream. yell or let out her rage at the girl who had reappeared. She looked on, the tears dripping down her cheeks as the girl set down the coffee kettle and cup sliding her across one. She took one with a shaking hand taking a sip trying to calm herself as the Uchiha spoke. She simply nodded along looking at Asuka, that happy, smiling face, so joyful, so bright. At the mention of Wukong, she smiled a bit taking in a deep breath trying to calm herself. She was not herself today, she really wasn't, ever since her encounter with the Hidden Frost, Soku felt like a new part of her was awake and not in a good way."Asuka...I...I...I'm sorry."She finally said defeated. She shook her head swearing inwardly at herself. The Captain was really losing it, if this continued, she could end up on the wrong path and the Santaru had been trying to run away from that, from all the chaos, the darkness, the tears yet here she was back at step one. She pulled Asuka into a embrace tightly as if trying to make up for her actions."I just...I am losing it Asuka. I feel like I am not myself anymore. There is a part of me that has abandoned me and I feel like there is just an empty, hollow shell inside. It was this misson I went on and I encountered Frost-nin who tossed me around like I was nothing..if I am unable to protect even my loved ones, what am I, Asuka? I can't even protect you, I am so helpless. I am just so frustrated with myself these days. I rose through the ranks of the branch but for what cost, I can't even defend anyone.."She gripped the girl tightly screaming inwardly.

Nibachi nodded to Migoya realizing he was not a simple commoner seeking to loot the estates."I understand and thank you for the concern but you will forgive me for being rash. After all, the enviorment here has declined rapidly."He said gesturing towards where the sisterly duo were talking. Watching Migoya leave, he let a smile creep onto his face."Interesting individual, medical shinobi eh." He turned back towards the main hall walking towards it, his blue cloak flapping in the wind. He stood outside the room not wanting to disturb what was going on inside. He looked at the necklace Soku had handed him and frowned. Knowing her, she was not one to cast aside such a prized possession even if she was in a fit of rage. He gently tapped the door with the tip of his spear."Soku-sama? It is I, Nibachi. I believe I have something of yours which you may wish to have back."The Santaru didn't bother to respond just trying to take in breaths to control herself. Nibachi simply leaned against the wall waiting for a reply."Asuka...I shouldn't have done that...not any of it and for that, I implore your forgivness."

Asuka tilted her head a bit. "Sorry? For what?" Of course she knew what she was talking about but in the end, it was kind of her fault.... 80%... nah 60%. She was a bit surprised at the sudden embrace she was pulled in... well this is certainly better than the slap she was expecting. Well.... the second slap. She simply returned the embrace warmly. Hoping to give her sister the same warmth she was giving her.

"Well.... firstly." Asuka coughed a bit, being the dramatic person that she was to try and get the point across. "You don't protect me? Come on big sis..." She said ruffling the captain's hair "You protect me from myself, and between you and me... they say that Asuka is one dangerous Shinobi." She whispered the last part, trying to make a joke.

"They. Keyword." She simply stated. "You're not God big sis. Being a Shinobi isn't about winning all the battles, it isn't about being the hero." With a sigh she leaned her head on her big sisters shoulder. "It's about knowing when to retreat and learn. Don't be afraid on making mistakes because that will is what is going to get you killed, be afraid on making the same mistake twice because THAT simply makes you an idiot." She sighed, as her eyes watered "Don't do things alone. That hollow shell you feel is simply your own self telling you you're not enough. No one is ever enough, don't fight that feeling. Learn that you will always aspire to be perfect but never achieve it, because perfection is nothing more than an illusion."

"Forgivness?" She asked once more "There's nothing to forgive. I think this is what people call siblings bickering."

"Don't beat yourself over this mission. You came back, you're going to learn, you're going to get stronger." With that she sniffled a few times. Hugging the neck of her sister. "Promise me you won't go to another mission alone. Promise me you'll take me next time. I don't want to loose anyone else.... I don't want to loose you...."

She nodded a bit seeking relief in Asuka's word letting loose a shaky laugh at the girl's attempt at humour. This was why they got along so well despite their conflicts from time to time, both of them understood the simple concept of love, love that they held for each other. It was a bond that had been threatened once and she had been unable to protect it. A personal oath she had sworn that day to preserve that bond by bettering herself and to ensure it did not happen again."Fair enough...I am not God..it's just that I am afraid..one day..I am going to make the fatal mistake, the unforgivable error and that is what haunts me."She said ignoring Nibachi's voice from the other side of the door. She took another sip of the drink to calm herself, she was supposed to be this professional shinobi yet here she was breaking down, she could almost imagine Yukio's blunt voice lecturing her in her head and she smiled at that."You know Asuka...sometimes I envy you...but at the same time, I am happy for you...that we can serve as each other's life coaches despite our differences. I envy you a bit, I guess because of your ability to remain cheerful, laughable even if the circumstances are dire."She said running her hands through the Uchiha's hair."I don't have that capability. You know. if I could go back and reverse time, I would give anything to be able have a personality like your's but at the same time, I am happy, Asuka, I don't really understand it myself."She said shrugging."I am happy because I can shield your eyes, the village's from the cold, spineless, dark methods I have to resort to for the sake of the Will of Fire and for those close to me."She said, her eyes shifting to her blade which lay on the floor."You know..they say the ANBU are composed of people with no morals..cold, dark monsters who lack emotion and it is true. To serve within this unit, you have to throw your morals out the window and shut off your emotions and I think that is taking it's toll on me but I am glad because I can endure it just to keep you safe from those lurking monsters who seek to harm you. You just make sure none of those nasty Frost-nin make it past the gates. I hear your record is unbeatable."She said winking giving Asuka a playful punch.

Finally giving up with the knocking, Nibachi wrenched the door open and bowing his head, offered the necklace to the Santaru."Thoguh you might be uhh..missing this?"She took it draping it around her neck smiling down at the kneeling man."Rise, Nibachi, how many times have I told you not to bow? You know I find such things pointless, I don't care if I'm the damned Fire Country Queen or something, do not bow."Nibachi rose scratching his head awkwardly."Habit."He said dryly letting loose a small grin at the two before going to stand behind his clan head, watching the duo thoughtfully."Though, I have to say that glitter bombs were a very creative idea."She remarked to Asuka. Nibachi rolled his eyes muttering."Just think of all the cleanup."He muttered to himself glancing at the hallway and grimacing."In fact, it's so creative I've decided you'll help Nibachi with this next project!"She declared suddenly standing up."I call it Clean-Up."She said snapping her fingers and a passing guard would turn opening a door revealing a assortment of cleaning materials."Then maybe, I'll hand you some cookies from the kitchen."She said chuckling. Her mood had improved, perhaps too much?

Asuka smiled at her sister, it was good seeing her calmed down from breaking down. Thankfully Soku trusted her enough to listen to her words. But it took a dark turn, with a sigh she continued. "Don't think that way." She spoke taking a big gulp from her drink. "Just do the best that you can do, no one can ask you for more. You can't ask yourself for more.... Who knows what will happen in the future, if that haunts you then your fear of screwing up will make you screw up."

Asuka smiled as her hair was ruffled, but she wasn't expecting the words that came after. Envy? Asuka giggled, waiting for her sister to finish. Well this was certainly an interesting turn of events, never would she have expected someone having envy of her. Maybe it was okay? Maybe this time would be different? With a sigh Asuka layed down on the floor. "Sis...." She spoke "This is just a mask, an illusion to void me of what I actually think most of the time. Selfish a bit, but it does its job..... at times." Asuka looked at Soku with a smile on her face. "Besides, apparently it makes people happy. So I'm fine with being miserable as long as everyone else has a good life."

"But my eyes have been opened." She stated "The Shinobi world is ruthless and deadly.... hell... it's rare for a Shinobi to die of natural causes. Something comes to get it sooner or later."

She didn't want to continue any further down the path, the conversation would turn into one hell of a conversation she didn't want to get into. But the last words did tick her of a bit. "It's a prank!" She yelled out in protest. "I'm not supposed to be part of the clean up crew!"

She grinned a bit at Asuka's outburst laughing a bit. She really did miss this sort of thing. Little moments like this. Nibachi turned away to hide a grin as he threw open a door and pulled out various mops and brooms along with a dustpan. This was going to be fun, he thought to himself. The Captain kneeled so she was on eye-level with the girl speaking to her."Think of it this way, Asuka, if you clean up this little mess, I will owe you something, will I not?"She asked smirking a bit. Nibachi nodded wisely adding his own thoughts to the mix."And lets be honest here, its only a prank if you dont get caught, you got caught hence you are honorbound to help me in the renovation of this estate."He said sliding a dustpan across to her. Soku nodded flicking the girls forehead as she turned towards the exit winking at Nibachi. She pushed open the doors and exited the clan grounds headed for the gates. Time to see if there were any new updates. The spear warrior hummed and sang as he swept the glitter particles using the bottom of his spear."Oh, cmon, its not that bad. Besides, she didnt say you HAD to stay. She just suggested you should help me."He said his eyes glinting. Why should Nibachi not have any fun of his own? The storm that had gathered over the clan estate cleared as quickly as it had came giving way to a bright sun with a cloudy overcast.

"Tell you what, if you help me clean up, I'll give you FIVE chocolate chip cookies."He spoke like he would to a young child holding up five and gesturing to the corridor which led to the kitchen. The cook would probably not approve of such rudimentary tactics but he was the head honcho here. Well, Soku was really but she was busy lately so most of the clan duties fell to him."I think we have ourselves a deal."He said answering for Asuka sliding her a broom and pointing to the hallway."You can start on the hallway. I'll finish this room and come to join you."He said grinning.

Asuka gave a small pout. "It isn't supposed to be me though!" She whispered to herself as her sister walked away, this would certainly be quite a tedious task. With a stern look she turned her head to face Nibachi."Honor is a ovverrated concept." She answered him "Besides, I got no honor to begin with!" She felt a slight pinch at her forehead. "Fine... fine..."

Even protesting Asuka grabbed the dustpan, but even though Soku didn't make her do it.... if Nibachi was doing it by himself, she should at least help.... a bit. But what really claimed her on doing this was his offer, man she really was a cheap girl. Making an effort she stood up. "Make that 6." She negotiated, at least to have an even number. Odd numbers looked weird when stacked in a pile. Catching the broom and juggling with it for a bit she headed to the hallway... this was certainly going to be a looong day.
