Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The Diamond Ocean was a place that despite all it's beauty, few seemed to traverse the terrain within the area. Perhaps it was the superstition around it, or maybe the danger that the diamond maelstrom had posed and people feared entering it even after it's dispersal, but many citizens and tourists of wind tended to take other paths. However, that did not mean that the Diamond Ocean was empty by any means. It was filled with thieves and ruffians, hired mercenaries, and those that always seemed to have their hands in the human trafficking ring especially. In short, those that came through this area were bad news and always were involved in violent or illegal acts.

Despite everything though, Kasen found herself standing on a mountain range, overlooking the expanse of the Diamond Ocean. The glistening sands were not the only things in this area that was regarded with beauty and awe. The Luminous Mountains that seemed to give off a glow of a multitude of colors depending on the time of day and the way the sun or moon hit it made them visible from vast distances. At the moment, the sun was just beginning to rise in the horizon. Most of the sands were still covered in darkness, and only a sliver of warm yellow sunrays were hitting the sands. Kasen looked at the sky above the mountains and noticed the night sky just barely starting to fade, and a faded purple light seemed to weave through and above the mountain peaks. She found herself here because the man that she had just recently arrested at one of the checkpoints seemed to indicate that he acquired the young girl that was with him within Suna. She had ventured out alone to the Golden Sanctuary under a cloaked visage in order to find out any information regarding how Raza may have come about requiring the girl. The trail ran cold though when she found out that Raza seemed to have traded her from someone else that had taken her from another area of Wind Country but the person themselves was outsourced from another village. Not being well equipped to track that individual, Kasen departed before her cover was blown.

She took the mountain path, despite it being rumored to be dangerous and a true pathway didn't exactly exist, which made the mountain difficult to traverse, but it was much safer than being a target that was easy to spot in the middle of the Ocean expanse in broad daylight. Thus, that was how she had ended up where she was now. She had been walking for most of the night, and at least at this point it seemed like it was a fairly safe place to stop for a small break. She was wearing much more traditional mission gear now that her entire body was not hidden by the cloak. She still wore the black tank that had the two pink straps that crossed in an 'X' pattern over her chest with a shark shaped silver pendent in the center, but had decided to exchange the shorts to an odd half pants half short combo. The side that looked like shorts had a leg wrap around it that had some utility bags adorned to it filled with some quick access small weapons and medical supplies. She wore dark black shoes that would sustain the durability of the harsh sands and the long distances she had been walking. Overtop of that, Kasen's lightweight aqua blue cloak could still be seen, hanging open, and a white utility belt lay across her hip. The only odd thing that someone might raise an eyebrow at was the long sleeved jacket that Kasen wore. Surely in a place like the desert, nobody in their right mind would be caught dead in long sleeves. But the blue-gray material was actually quite breathable and comfortable to Kasen, and it protected her both from the desert night cold and the harsh winds. Finally, she wore a small pack on her back, which held some rations, water, and some more general equipment that should help her with most scenarios.

The water court hybrid dropped her pack down next to a large rock and sighed. She had really been hoping to find something in order to help not just that girl, but potential others. Pulling herself up onto the rock, Kasen allowed herself a moment to take a seat and enjoy the view. She hadn't encountered anyone else out here aside from those that had been in the Golden Sanctuary. It was nice, but it felt lonely. Perhaps she should have invited someone else along. Kasen's eyes widened when that idea passed through her head. She should be in range now that someone should be able to get her call if she used a headset. She reached down and dug through her pack until she found it and quickly popped it onto her ear. Perhaps Riyota would come out here just to spend some time with her and this trip wasn't all for not. She smiled at the thought. It was still strange that she had a boyfriend. It had only been for a couple months, and they had worked together on a handful of missions (as professionals, of course), but it had been going well and Kasen found herself incredibly happy even if the two of them still tended to be quite awkward about the whole thing. Kasen dialed into a private network she had setup for people that were close to her and hoped that he would get her message. "This is Shinku Kasen; I'm sending over coordinates for my location, I am in the Luminous Mountain range. If you would care to join me for a date, I wouldn't be opposed. *winky face*"<i></i> She giggled as she ended her call. Now she would just wait to see if there was any response. Kasen lightly swung her feet back and forth as she waited. The sun still wasn't quite over the horizon yet, so it still indicated it was very early in the morning. While she waited, she would reach down and grab her canteen of water and take a sip before placing it back. "I hope he comes."<i></i> Me too.

Riyota held up three fingers...then two...then one. The Genin nodded as they pressed their palm to the doorway and closed their eyes. Within a moment, the door was thrust inwards and Riyota's squad flooded the building. "Everyone down on the ground! Just lie down and no-one will get a smack. Congrats everyone, you have become famous enough to be arrested by Suna's finest." He waltzed through, monitoring his squadron and making sure everything was running smoothly. He didn't expect any problems. Usually, these sorts of operations involved non-shinobi targets. Even the fresh Genin he had been given were able to handle things.

After the dust settled in Sand, the underground was almost entirely in ruins. Leaving openings for scum to turn it into an even larger hive of villainy and illicit activities than it had been before. The Police were in overdrive to combat the growing criminal organisations. Drug peddlers, Mafias, the occasional murderer or two. Riyota had been non-stop on the job. It didn't help that a lot of the higher-ups were distributing most of their available Shinobi to combat the issues created in the wake of the Chaos event so the Jonin was left with very few resources at his disposal and only the new recruits to work with.

"All clear sir!" A bright-eyed, fresh-faced Genin approached him and saluted, wearing a triumphant grin on their face. He looked down at them with a bemused expression. "Are you completely sure? You've triple-checked the whole place?" He asked, like a parent checking their child had brushed their teeth properly. The Genin nodded but uncertainty started to form across their face. Riyota knelt down and leaned in close. "Close your eyes and focus for a second..." He instructed, and his subordinate obeyed and as they both focused together there was definitely the sound of very, very muffled breathing. Riyota placed a finger to his lips silently and slowly crept towards an inconspicuous looking wall. A few short steps and CRACK his hand went through the plaster, gripping around the neck of a slimy, weasily looking man whom he promptly slammed against the wooden floor. "Human trafficking, eventually you learn that they're good at hiding people, and that includes themselves." He explained whilst the man attempted to wriggle free under his iron grip. "Crap oh crap! Raza's gonna kill me..." Riyota cast a glance at the man, his cyclopean stare causing the man to freeze up in fear. "Kid, I'm placing you in charge of the interrogation," Riyota spoke to the Genin, exiting the building with them, criminal in hand.

His squadron began binding and escorting all the suspects back to the precinct. The Jonin himself took a minute to sit and catch his breath. That's when he heard a slight crackling and static in his bag. He reached in and pulled out his headset, pressing one of the receivers to his ear. The voice on the other end was one with which he was intimately familiar, and a smile crept across his face. His moments with Kasen had grown slightly rarer since the event, they had been split up on separate missions since her medical skills were required outside of Suna. They had to steal quiet moments whenever they could and it seemed like that was one of those times. He listened to the message and checked his headset with a furrowed brow. "She knows this is an open channel right?" He shook his head and got to his feet. "Hey Kid..." He gestured to the same Genin. "I'm off to do some scouting, you're in charge until I get back." The Genin gulped and nodded, panic becoming evident on their face as he walked off. It was a lot of responsibility, but Riyota saw it as a learning experience.

He felt no need to change, his work gear was the same as his casual outfit as he claimed all his necessary body armour was internal. He quickly made his way to the specified co-ordinates to see his love, covering his head with his hood to stave off some of the setting sun's heat. The mountains were indeed a breathtaking sight to behold, but there was a sight he was more eager to see.

Her blue hair blew elegantly in the wind as he approached, sneaking up right behind her and planting a kiss on her cheek. "I hope the invitation was meant for me, I mean you did invite everyone on the open channel so maybe you were planning a picnic instead?" He said jokingly. Opening his arms for a hug. "Oh and...Hi Same." He greeted the shark spirit with a wink.

It would appear fortune was not on these star-crossed lover's side. All the while a lone figure would be watching from a distance, waiting patiently for his target to come along. Pulling out an outdated photograph he would make note of the crimson red hair. While she looked similar there were some major differences. It was no wonder it had taken him this long to track her down. Had he now acquired that bit of information from some unfortunate souls he would have had no idea that she had undergone some sort of transformation. Her hair now blue and her general frame matured, she was quite different than the photo. It was better than his original piece of information he had to go on though. He put the photo back inside his pocket next to that ''other" piece of information.

Just as he was going to make his appearance a "complication" entered the fray. Just who was this other guy, could it be the brother, a lover, just a friend? In the end it would matter not, he was more than capable to take them both on. In an instant the unnamed figure would appear before the pair, there was no time for subtleties. "Well well well, I thought I would never catch up to you, Kasen..." He knew her by name, that alone would be unsettling. Not to mention the figure's general appearance. No signs of village alignment, nothing at all really aside from a dark robe and the odd mask. Holding out a hand he would make a gentle request. "If you would be so kind as to come with me, my employer has been looking for you for some time. Your friend here will not be able to join us however. It's for the best really..." There was a very sinister tone to his voice, unnerving at the least. Even his presence might possibly send a chill down your spine, a prominent intent to kill seemed to permeate the air around them. Whatever, whoever this guy was it was bad news, and judging by the sheer force of will he was outputting it could only mean he was quite formidable. What would Kasen and Riyota do in response to all of this?

As time passed with Kasen waiting, she entertained herself by rolling around pebbles that she found on the ground. The view was quite nice from here, but after a while, even it grew boring. The medical ninja started to hum slightly to herself the song of the sea. It was a sea shanty that she heard one of the sailors singing when she had traveled across the waters of Sunagakure on the trip to Tea. It spoke of a mermaid and a prince that joined the land and the sea with their love, despite it being incredibly forbidden, and yet the two managed to find love together in the end. After a few verses had been hummed, she heard the distinct sound of footsteps on rock coming from behind her. Kasen swiveled her body around on the rock and turned to see none other than Riyota coming around the bend of the mountains. Her toothy grin grew wide and she waved at him as his own beaming smile met hers. She stood as he approached her and was happily greeted with a kiss to her cheek. A rosy blush crossed her face for just a moment, still getting used to the affection she had not really been used to. Her brother doted on her all the time, of course, but romantic affection was something she was still growing increasingly used to. Same would still manage to tease her about though and say that those were just gross human feelings. In the shark world, you were upfront about who you wanted, and when you wanted them, and then you procreate. Simple. Same was quite picky in choosing her consort, but once she had done so, she was sure he was the most powerful of her clan aside from herself. Hence why even years after her death he continued to search for her, even pushing past his own bodies limitations.

Having only momentarily distracted herself with her own thoughts, Kasen wrapped herself tightly in Riyota's arms, burying her face into his neck as she did so. He smelled faintly of smoke and sweat, mixed in with his usual scent of sandalwood and musk. Based upon his appearance, it looked like he had just come from a mission. Kasen was pleased that he took the time to take her call. Still, with how little they had seen each other lately, she allowed the hug to last slightly longer than usual. What pulled her away was when he mentioned that the call was to an open channel. Kasen pulled away swiftly, her blue eyes going wide and her mouth gaping just ever so slightly. "WHAT? YOU MEAN EVERYONE COULD HEAR THAT?!?" Kasen looked towards the ground, then back at Riyota, then down, then around her briefly. "Do you think other people heard?" The blue haired woman groaned for a second. Kaen had assured her that this was how she made a comms channel private and secure. He was one of the ANBU and secrecy was their thing. Maybe she had accidentally adjusted the settings or something.

Shuffling the tip of her shoe in the dirt beneath her for just a moment, Kasen shook her head. She wasn't gonna let a small setback like this ruin her good time. As Riyota winked at her, addressing Same, Kasen's eyes could be seen changing to a pitless black ever just so briefly. "Hello, Kasen's consort." Just as quickly as her eyes had changed, they returned to their normal appearance. For some reason, Kasen's gaurd was down more when around her love, which made it so easy for Same to meddle. Kasen looked mildly horrified at what had just happened. However, before she could get another word in, a masked figure appeared before them. The man did not appear to look like one of the ANBU of the village, but perhaps he was someone who worked under Riyota. Not a moment later though, that idea was squashed. "How do you know my name?" Kasen's eyes narrowed at the person, her guard going up immediately. "I'm afraid your employer will be disappointed then. I won't be going anywhere with you." The air around her suddenly felt very heavy as her hands tightened into white knuckled fists and her body began to shake just slightly. She felt unnerved by this man in ways she had not felt in years. Had Raza sent this man? Had someone followed her from the trafficking ring? What if...no, that's not an option. She would not let it be an option.
