Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

She peeked over a small crop of rocks that stood tall against the backdrop of sand. Pushing out of the dunes around it, the rocks was the only formation like it in the general area and proved to be a useful spot to survey her surroundings. With a palm holding a salute over her brow, she'd squint her eyes tightly looking for a particular landmark. There was a lamented grunt from her lips because she was out here to do a task that would have been really simple had it been not for one thing. She was born into the first generation of her clan having moved into the village and putting their nomadic ways behind in adoption of forming a shinobi clan. Whereas for those born before her generation would have been able to navigate the vast sand expanse with little to no issues off memory alone. While she understood the importance of her task the fact that she was still a kid not yet in even pre-teen years that made it seem so annoying. The worst part of it all was that there was a window to get to where she needed to be, because once the winds picked up again it would be nigh impossible to complete the task. "This sucks so bad...all because the clan wants to start a ceremony. I mean COME ON....isn't it enough we passed the exams sheeeeesh." Though the creation of a tradition wasn't unusual to clans, tribes, or any general family group she had simply not yet grasped that notion and saw this all as more of a burden on her when she could be off doing something of her own interest. Typical child...
Turning her head and squinting her eyes, she began to make out just what she had been hoping to find. In the distance there was the flapping of wings which was only in her sight window for a second or two before disappearing. It had however been enough time to recognize the wings as those of the common sunagakurian crow. From what was told of her by both family and the lessons in the academy where ever one was present then that meant it's roost was nearby. Given that this region was known to be void of cliffs, this only meant that the crow was roosting in shrubs which hadn't been taken over by the dunes. It was here that Chikyu was to go, finding these desert pockets of green looking for Knocksroot. "Just my luck there was a shortage I guess." She spoke referring to the fact that they needed to replenish the stock of dried knocksroot which the clan used in one of their ceremonial dishes. Given how hard it is to find the plant, several of her fellow friends and also first generation born who had passed the exams had also been sent out. It was there goal to find and gather as much as possible within the day. Even though it wasn't noon yet she had still yet managed to find any and this sign at least put a smirk on her lips. Maybe things were turning around.

She'd straighten her stance and take a deep breath, raising both palms over her head. Bringing both hands down suddenly on top of the rock, she'd twist her palms and suddenly an audible rumble could be heard. Sand that had built up around the rock formation was blown outwards while the mass of earth itself began to sink beneath the dune. Pushing both palms into a fist, her teeth tightened and gritted before punching forwards and sinking the rock beneath the sand for good.
"Whew...! Okay now to just head that way". All ten toes dug themselves into the sand as her steps started her in the direction of the crow to the northeast. With both palms interlocked behind her head she whistled while carelessly skating down the dune which she had climbed, a feat that was quite easy when you were a child of the earth. Each grain of sand beneath her feet felt like a heartbeat to her body as if they were connected. This was the "Gift of Stone" that Goremu children are told about at a young age to explain this feeling. Though as she came to rest at the bottom of the dune, something felt immediately off. She could feel unusual movements nearby, unable to really identify what it was only that it was moving towards her. Glancing towards the the direction of the feeling, her eyes glanced to the adjacent dune top and both pupils would sink it suddenly.....

A rather large Duskboar was returning her gaze, though it's eyes were far than friendly...

The uneasiness she felt at the moment was unlike anything that she could immediately think of, as even some of the lessons in the academy could not measure up. Maybe it was a mixture of having self confidence washed away or it was the fact she was facing a stark reality with no answer besides the slight trembling in her joints. After all, she was alone and despite being a shinobi had only become one in title and rank just a few short days prior. This meant that she wasn't particularly skilled or had the experience to shake off sudden fear or doubt, let alone stare bravely in the eyes of a menacing Dustboar whom held the high ground. The sudden realization that she was in fact in a pit being overlooked by the creature settled in as her eyes sunk deeper, remembering suddenly a lesson she wished she paid more attention to. Seeking higher ground was the recommendation when faced by a territorial Dustboar...

The situation was two parts dangerous in her case with one part blessing, though the later would be stipulated as such if she could manage to escape the situation unscathed. As she stood there in shock and awe, staring at the creature as it seemed to have gauged the favorable situation it was in. It's tusk dug into the sand, with sudden movements of it's head throwing streams of the grains into the air while digging in with it's hooves. Was it preparing to charge? Although her body had been overcome with fear a stronger instinct to run was far stronger and was able to cause the trembling to cease long enough for her feet to backpedal slowly from where she stood. I've got to get out of here..where this is one there are others. Her thoughts were spot on according to what everyone knew about the creatures, finding one just solitary was rarer than pink steak considering they traveled in groups. The last place she wanted to be would be here facing down seven, eight...maybe even nine of these things. But the question remained as she took slow steps back, how to escape?

She faced several decision obstacles, each processing in her head with each backpedal. While she was somewhat capable as a shinobi in that she could at least fight and had some jutsu, the problem was two fold. On one hand hunting and killing Dustboars was something restricted and only shinobi who were well established truly had this ability, a category that she fell in only due to rank. The second was that her skills didn't match up to the situation she was in as even if she wanted to fight the creature, she didn't have the power to fell it. But there was an option that would allow her a moment to escape. Her palm would unfasten the pouch along her waistline slowly, a movement that the Dustboar saw and perceived quickly as it's form started charging down into the depression she was standing in. The speed the animal was capable of even though it was moving on sand was impressive, the anatomy of the animal showing why it was so at home in the vast desert expanse. A small but smoothed over pebble was brought from within the pouch as she started back stepping faster, dropping the pebble to the ground. It was lucky she was very good on her feet as the shifting sand under her weight didn't trip her up, both palms slamming together as a seal etched into the pebble would glow causing a sudden eruption of sand to shoot up around it.

The pebble was a special weapon used by the Goremu, a piece of stone etched with the clans seal which allowed it to become to core of a golem. A special guardian with various purposes but this one was obvious as the sand condensed quickly around the stone forming a mass just about a foot more taller than she was. It's created arms would cross as the unaffected Dustboar rushed into it headlong while it's form was still coming together. At about the same time, she had used the timing to turn and make a rush up the other side of the dune, using the seconds created as an escape window. By the time the creature had tore through the imperfect Golem, she had managed to propel herself over the top edge of the sand...her eyes not met with a sight of freedom but of the last thing she needed to see..

With the Dustboar beneath renewing it's charge forwards, at the top she was met with the gazes of two others who were waiting nearby.....something she would of felt through the earth had her attention not been thrown off. At this point she would have to come up with something fast...or hope a miracle of intervention took place.
