Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The Caretaker led Asagao away from the Throne of Bone to a densely packed underground forest. The roots networked beneath the black soil actually gave of a faint blue fluorescent light, In other areas it was green, gold, or even red, a brilliant seemingly electric bio-luminescent forest. After the initial light of the roots though time seemed to pass all too quickly until they reached parts of the forest that were much much older than anything Asagao had ever sensed and though life flourished it did not give off much light. It was warm and cozy oddly so as they made their way towards the deep Elderwoods that made up the Caretaker's home. Asagao would have stumbled and fallen had the young massive sunan tora not provided him a firm hand-hold upon his neck fur which was easy to hold on to allowing him to follow as he helped guide him. Asagao could taste the moisture in the air even if he was having problems seeing. He could feel his environment in other ways, and then suddenly all movement stopped and the Caretaker placed his right hand upon a gigantic nearly petrified and the pitch black of the forest became a soft, sunny gold as the Tora sat before him looking up at him. Not all of the forest was illuminated, just the general area for about forty feet. Here amidst the fading blue black grass and white bio luminescent roots sat the Tora that appreciated Asagao's scent

The Caretaker finally spoke his voice strong and oddly gruff like a man whom had smoked too much throughout life.

"This one likes you but is spoken for by another, he is just a year old so he can still choose another partner to share his life with, should you best the warrior whom earned his name first then you may learn his name and have the chance to share your heart. Make your peace now for only one of you will leave this forest whole."

A warrior in all black leapt down from the tree his hair was so black it looked like oil rested against his neck. His skin could not be seen but his eyes could and they were feral, they matched the eyes of the tiger perfectly. His hands were claws, and as he hunched down low Asagao felt as if he were truly facing a tiger. Dressed in all black armor, with a black mask, and absolutely no fear in his heart the warrior prepared to best Asagao so that he may have the perfect union with his chosen beast companion.

Moving further into the Elderwoods, the last bit of light that had been guiding their path slowly disappeared behind them, leaving nothing but total blackness out in front; the sinister shadows played tricks with his eyes, hiding the path, leaving him stumbling in the dark, tripping over his own two feet. Reaching out, he would feel the soft nuzzle of fur against his hand, as the tiger redirected him, navigating him in the right direction. Running his fingers across the wild animal's back, he would have to use the tiger as a compass if he wanted to follow the Caretaker to where they were going, otherwise he would just end up lost in the forest forever, trying to feel his way around like a blind man, until he injured himself attempting to locate the way out. Let's hope it would not come to that.

Moving gingerly, he would take cautious, careful steps, placing one foot after the other. Even with the tiger leading the way, he still felt unsteady, despite having total trust in the beast's ability to see where they were going. There were movements off to the side, all around them. The bushes crashed beside them, shaking with a violent flurry. Other animal's were tracking and following them, examining the new intruder with a curious fascination. Smacking his lips, the humidity was thick and creating a misty atmosphere. This forest seemed to have more in common with something tropical, than with any woodland forest, but it was still to dark to see what the area truly looked like.

Coming to a sudden halt, his body would bump into the tiger as he continued to walk, unaware they had reached their destination. When the Caretaker finally illuminated the area, Asagao would duck his head and stray away from looking directly into the light until his eyes were fully adjusted. Looking around, he would notice another tiger, this one much younger, sitting calmly a few feet in front of him. As their eyes met, Asagao's heart would once again beat frantically, as if it were trying to tell him something. Listening carefully to what the Caretaker was saying, he wouldn't look over or even acknowledge the man's words, but he heard them and was now preparing for what came next.

As the man fell from the tree, Asagao gave little time for him to react, for he was already in attack mode. Launching a plethora of poison kunai he would make the first move: a true mark of the assassin, strike first and without warning, catching your target off guard and unaware. Moving quickly he would stay fast on his feet, the adrenaline pumping furiously through his veins. It had been decided the moment he had locked eyes with the tiger, this would be his companion, this was their destiny! Summoning up a gust of wind, he would unleash a mammoth tornado [Tatsumaki: Mastered] in the direction of his opponent hoping to catch the feral man with the windy vortex and end the fight so he could claim his prize.

The blades thrown were lost to shadow as his opponent melted into the very lack of light. His movements were like those from beyond the damned as he pushed ever closer to his opponent as flashes of black claws were witnessed by Asagao's vision. The wind blast struck a wall of earth before his opponent burst from the very soil and struck him in the stomach before back-handing him across the neck and shoulder before disappearing into the darkness yet again. He seemed to feel that Asagao was far more dangerous than his helplessness to ninjutsu and taijutsu would make him seem. This man was able to see in the dark, meld with the earth, and wield the shadows, he was the equivalent of an APEX night predator. His tiger began to roar as he sensed that Asagao's defeat was near but the nightwalker could not sense what the young unnamed beast did, he could sense that Asagao was a demonbeast, one whom devoured others for power, if he shared his soul with Asagao then he too would become a demonbeast and be able to ascend his mortality in service to the celestial one Byakko. This tiger wanted to be a true beast among beasts so now he need only await the defeat of the nightstalker to show Asagao's worth.

Hunching over, the forceful blow to his stomach would snatch the very wind from his lungs and leave him cradling his mid-section in pain. Dropping to his knees, the second attack would send him to the ground, his left hand extended barely propping his body up, as he coughed and choked trying to catch his breath. Lifting his head, he would catch a glimpse of his enemy as he vanished into the dark, his body melting away into the black nothingness until he was completely gone from sight. Standing up, Asagao would dust himself off and straighten out his attire, before resuming the battle at hand. Rotating his neck around in circles, he would work out the kinks; a sore numbness now dulled his right shoulder, he would have to pay the man back for that one. Looking around, his keen eyes would scan his surroundings, yet see absolutely nothing. The man has an obvious advantage, that much is clear. This can't have been a coincidence, this has to have been planned. Giving up searching for him with his eyes, sight was not going to help him here, in fact he was becoming too reliant on his ability to see, he was going to have to take a different approach if he wanted to locate him.

Closing his eyes, he would let his newly formed animal instincts take over, his nose immediately picking up his adversary's foul stench, as he rolled around in the darkness like a coward. Launching some poison senbon, he would throw his projectiles with pin point accuracy, just as his childhood instructor had trained him to. "Repetition, repetition, repetition." He would whisper under his breath, as he let out another volley of senbon in the direction of his now moving target, as he attempted to maneuver his way around and dodge the oncoming barrage of lethal needles. Recalling his days as a youth in training, he would envision himself standing in a practice yard, blindfolded, tossing projectile after projectile at targets until his arm was barely hanging in it's socket. This was no different from that - well, other than the fact this target could hit back, but Asagao had already experienced that, and he was not impressed one bit.

As his body was in motion, throwing projectiles to keep his enemy at bay, running on nothing but training and technique. His mind on the other hand was tapping into his inner-self, attempting to free the full power of the demonbeast Byakko that was dwelling inside. As the runic tiger markings that covered his skin began to glow, his eyes would burst open, as his bright tapestry ability unlocked, allowing him to see fully in the dark and cut through the shadows like the sun. "Got you!!" He would growl, his vicious canine teeth clinched as he charged in. Taking the fight to him, Asagao would spring into action, drawing a kunai with his right hand, gripping it so tightly in his palm that his knuckles were turning white. Clawing at his foe with his open left hand, his tiger claw attack would attempt to rip the very skin off his challengers bones, as he went to plunge the piercing sharp kunai into his heart and seize the tiger companion for himself.

The shadow warrior dodged the senbon effortlessly using shadows and earth but what he had not expected was for Asagao to display his true ability. The senbon had forced him to move along a path that Asagao had long practiced and used to make his opponent's movements predictable. Then his powers activated, the blows he had received earlier in the battle had given him enough genetic data just from the flesh on flesh contact. Roaring like only a tiger could Asagao rushed in to bring the fight into the enemies strength. Fear had registered within the nightwalker allowing him to only see the kunai as a threat. With a flicker a clawed hand plowed under his guard puncturing and tearing flesh where the Kunai could not reach as the blood began to flow energy began to flood Asagao's body. A terrible void began to fill as he could literally feel the tiger bonding with his inner beast spirit releasing Byakko's need and empowering the tiger with power and wrath as it took on intellect beyond that of a tiger and slightly higher than that of a normal human.

The Caretaker stood and released the Nightwalker from Asagao's absorbing grip as Asagao took on more feral features. With a quick jab from his hands the nightwalker fell at The Caretaker's feet paralyzed and full of fear and sorrow. The Caretaker nodded at Asagao as the forest began to glow flourescently giving light to all the obstacles and earth barriers the nightwalker had used. The other tiger began to cry as it came and lay down next to its fallen companion as Asagao's 'Tayori' came and stood over the nightpride. She grumbled low and Asagao could hear it speak, "IT IS TIME TO FEAST, CONSUME AND GROW STRONGER..." Tayori ripped grasped the throat of the nightpride and strangled the life from it before reaching a heavy paw into its chest, ripping out and devouring the heart in a fluid almost human motion. This caused the nightpride's body to turn into mists which were inhaled and absorbed making Tayori even stronger.

He then looked to Asagao and the Nightwalker... it was time, and the Caretaker was gone without a trace.

Feline Companion - Passive
Perhaps the most distinguishable aspect of the Torazuka clan is the fact that they seem to have an unbreakable bond with a companion that is far more than your average pet. Their companion is is bonded so close to the Torazuka, and the Torazuka to it that the two could be said to be two halves of a whole, or even share a soul. Whichever the case, the Torazuka and their pet are inseparable, and can perfectly understand and communicate with each other even through the most complex words/yowls, to the simplest body gestures..

Rank 1: The user gains a pet! This pet has Hp equal to 30% of the Torazuka's Max Hp. Pet's base damage is 75% of the user's, and has -5 of the User's Secondaries.
Rank 2: The Torazuka's pet becomes stronger, having Hp equal to 40% of the Torazuka's Max Hp. Pet's base damage is 80% of the user's, and has -4 of the User's Secondaries.
Rank 3: The Torazuka's pet becomes perfectly trained, having Hp equal to 50% of the Torazuka's Max Hp. Pet's base damage is 85% of the user's Unarmed Damage, and has -3 of the User's Secondaries.

Notes:
- A player Gains a pet upon gaining this bloodline.
- Pet has Ap equal to half the user's. Minimum of 1 Ap.

---

Loyalty to the Pride - Passive
There is little stronger than the kinship felt between a feline and it's pride, and so too does this apply to the incredibly deep loyalty an Torazuka feel's with their companions. During time's of danger, the Torazuka are prone to experiencing incredible surges of adrenaline that seem to give them super-human capabilities for a short moment, enough to protect harm from befalling their companion.

Rank 1: If their pet takes damage equal to 30% of it's max Hp during a round, the Torazuka gains +1 Secondaries for a full round. If the Torazuka takes damage equal to 30% of their max Hp during a round, the pet gains +1 Secondaries for a full round.
Rank 2: If their pet takes damage equal to 25% of it's max Hp during a round, the Torazuka gains +1.5 Secondaries for a full round. If the Torazuka takes damage equal to 25% of their max Hp during a round, the pet gains +1.5 Secondaries for a full round.
Rank 3: If their pet takes damage equal to 20% of it's max Hp during a round, the Torazuka gains +2 Secondaries for a full round. If the Torazuka takes damage equal to 20% of their max Hp during a round, the pet gains +2 Secondaries for a full round.

Notes:
- This effect does not stack.
- For .5 Ap, The user may switch the target source of this ability, their pet, with an ally in battle with them. The ally does not gain buffs, however if they take the required amount of damage, the Torazuka will gain the bonus.

---

Tiger Visage - Passive
Just as their feline companion seems to be far more than your average pet, seeming to possess human-level intelligence, so too does the Torazuka seem to lean towards a more Animalistic instinct, possessing razor sharp claws in place of frail nails, and sharp feline teeth, as well as a more beast-like personality.

Rank 1: Unarmed Attack's gain +5% Damage.
Rank 2: Unarmed Attack's gain +10% Damage.
Rank 3: Unarmed Attack's gain +15% Damage.

Notes:
- At all ranks, the Torazuka's Unarmed attack's deal Slashing damage with a chance to inflict bleeding penalties.
- The user is able to use Slashing Taijutsu with their Unarmed Weapons.

---

Enhanced Smell - Activated Passive
The animalistic traits of the Torazuka do not simply end at their physical appearance, but stems deeper into their senses. Felines have a far more acute sense of smell that can perceive the world around them far more sharply than vision or hearing, and the Torazuka have the ability to increase their sense of smell to such a degree, that they can clearly smell and identify the area through various scents, and even pin point the location of others by smell alone.

Rank 1: User can smell 100 times better than normal humans. Grants +1 Awareness.
Rank 2: User can smell 150 times better than normal humans. Grants +2 Awareness.
Rank 3: User can smell 200 times better than normal humans. Grants +3 Awareness.

Costs:
Rank 1: .5AP, 200 Chakra and 100/round.
Rank 2: .5AP, 360 Chakra and 180/round.
Rank 3: .5AP, 500 Chakra and 250/round.

---

Air Dynamic Marking - Pet Jutsu
Though both the Torazuka and their companion possess a sharpen sense of smell, this creative technique seems to take advantage of their sense by the feline spraying and "Marking" a target with urine, allowing them to track them far more clearly than even by sight. The Urine itself, however, possesses a slightly acidic quality that can sting on contact, but even so it is an amusing to witness a feline perform this technique. How they manage such a feat in the middle of an acrobatic maneuver is unknown to even those with shinobi dexterity, however.

Rank 1: Urinates upon a unfortunate target, dealing 250 Damage.
Rank 2: Urinates upon a unfortunate target, dealing 500 Damage.
Rank 3: Urinates upon a unfortunate target, dealing 750 Damage.

Cost: 1AP (Pet)

Notes:
- Does not stack on the same target, but resets the timer.
- Torazuka and Pet gain +1 acc against the marked target for three rounds.
- An opponent hit by this jutsu can be tracked easier by smell, but the Torazuka must have enhanced Smell Activated to gain the buff.
- May only be used once every other round.

---

Beast Clone - Specialty Clone Jutsu
A technique which allows the user and feline to morph to be more akin to the other, the familiar will becoming larger and more humanoid, while the user gains even more feline features. This technique results in 2 identical 'clones,' although the familiar is still not as strong as the Torazuka, though they both possess a feral appearance.

Rank 1: Pet gains +1 secondaries. The Torazuka Gains +1 Dodge.
Rank 2: Pet gains +1.5 secondaries and +5% Damage. The Torazuka Gains +1.5 Dodge and +5% Unarmed Damage.
Rank 3: Pet gains +2 secondaries and +10% Damage. The Torazuka Gains +2 Dodge and +10% Unarmed Damage.

Cost: 1.5 AP; 500 chakra, 250/round.

Notes:
- This is treated as a fighting style, and does not count for the 'Clone' Jutsu limit.
- The user and their pet both appear as identical feral versions of the user.
- Exhausts at an Average Rate.

Staring at his hand, he would gaze upon it in disbelief, as a thick red substance leaked down his forearm in thin racing lines. His palm was completely covered, smeared with the blood of his fallen opponent. Small bits of the man's flesh were stuck in between his fingernails, he could feel the soft facial tissue on the tip of his thumb as he attempted to unlodge it, cleaning himself of the dead man's skin. He had sworn never to kill again, never to engage in combat which would result in the loss of another's life. He had betrayed his vow, his promise, he had acted without remorse, and had attacked with the intent to kill, all for the sake of a personal prize. It was the demon blood to which was at fault, he could feel it coursing through his veins every minute of every day. It's presence clouded his mind, his thoughts, his judgment. It spoke it him not in words - but in urges. It was whispering to him even now. It had been awoken during the fight and now it thirsted savagely for more violence: this craving horrified Asagao, he was utterly terrified by the uncontrollable viciousness that now lived inside of him.

Looking around for the Caretaker, the odd little man was nowhere to be found, he had apparently vanished into thin air. It would seem only the tiger remained, was this the one that was to be his companion? Approaching with caution, he would watch the beast with wary eyes as he stepped closer, but paused in his tracks when he heard the animal speak. Stunned, he would stand there gawking at the enormous cat, speechless, unable to move, as it consumed the other tiger's heart in one bite. In a puff of smoke, the rest of the dead animal's corpse would evaporate, disappearing into the night air. The animal would then turn and face Asagao, it's majestic eyes meeting his. This was no ordinary tiger, the wisdom for which it's eyes held was like nothing he had ever seen before. His heart would began to race again, as the tiger slowly approached him.

"Come."

The animal would deliver a simple command as it passed by, continuing on through the forest. Looking around, Asagao would finally come to notice that the trees were giving off a neon glow, which was now providing the source of light that was illuminating their path. He could finally walk freely again, unassisted. Coming out through a clearing, he would part the bushes with both hands, and step out from the underbrush. There was a small body water in front of them, yet little else, providing Asagao with no indication of what they were doing. The tiger would walk over to the small pond on drink from it, taking a few mighty laps with his tongue. Turning it's head, it would stare at Asagao with puzzled eyes, as if surprised by the human's confusion. "Drink." It would call out, before turning back around and doing the same. Reaching the edge of the pond, a small grunt would escape his lips as he knelt down, his body beginning to ache from the fight earlier. Bending over, he would cup his hands together and drink large gulps. The water tasted sweet like sugar, his taste buds sizzled and popped as the liquid slid down his throat, he had never had anything so delicious. Tipping over, he would land back on his butt, his mind reeling from the effects of the water, leaving him in a drunk like state.

"Sit up." The tiger would say as it approached, stopping and sitting in front of him. "This water, as you have tasted, is not normal to our kind. For someone not of the Byakko bloodline, it would taste just like normal spring water, but for you and I...it serves a much greater purpose than merely quenching thirst." The Tiger's voice was a soft growl, it's gentle tone was soothing, causing Asagao to feel drowsy. "Having consumed this water, you will find it much easier to slip into the dreamscape of your mind. It will also nullify the pain your body would feel under normal circumstances." This last statement was cause for concern, but Asagao's mind was already beginning to enter the dreamworld, so the warning of pain sailed by unheard and unacknowledged.

Dreamscape

The world was white, bright, almost blinding to look at, burning the eyes upon first glance. It was plain and empty, like a room with no furniture, completely void of any character. As his vision slowly began to adjust, he would notice a person was sitting across from him, it was a beautiful, angelic, young woman. She had sandy brown hair flowing past her shoulders, and was wearing a white robe decorated with all types of runic symbols. A warm smile graced her lips, she looked at him with loving, caring eyes. Her delicate arms were outstretched in front of her, she was holding something in her hands, offering it to him. Cupped gently in her palms, there was a red glowing ball, hovering just above her fingertips. Looking down at his own, he would see the same red glowing ball cupped in his own hands. Looking up, they would lock eyes, her gentle smile still present, she knew he did not understand.

"It is your heart, Asagao."

Looking down, he would began to sense it, what she was saying was true, he was actually holding his heart in his hands, and she was offering hers out to him. Without thinking, he would outstretch his hands, and present her with his heart, just as she was doing to him. Raising into the air the two hearts would switch hands - he would immediately be able to feel the difference between the two. The new heart was strong, fierce and powerful. It was not bugged down by the likes of fear, or any other weak human emotion. He could feel the pride pulsating in his hands. Pressing the heart to her chest, the red orb would be absorbed into her body, completing one half of the transition. Staring into her warm eyes, he no longer had any fear or doubt in him, he would embrace this, just as he had done with the demon blood. Placing the orb against his chest, he would feel it slowly seep into his body before disappearing completely within.

"And so it is complete." She would say, giving her head a subtle nod. "We are now bound together as one. We are one and the same. If one falls we both do." Cocking her head, she would study him, making sure he fully understood the ramifications of what she just told him.

"I..I understand." He would respond, completely at ease with the situation, due to the tiger heart now beating inside his chest. "What..what is your name?" The question had been on his mind the moment he had laid eyes on her. He had to know the answer now, waiting would not do. Cocking her head, she would smile wide and chuckle at her new companion's impatient behavior.

"You may call me....Tayori."

And with that the world around him would vanish, and he would once again find himself in the physical realm, laying next to the pond with a fiery sensation burning in his chest. Reaching up, he would rub and press down, feeling for the first time, the thundering heartbeat of a tiger, which now replaced his own. Looking over to his left, he would see the magnificent creature curled up next him asleep. Leaning over, he would run his hands across it's back, it's fur soft to the touch, and whisper in it's ear. "Tayori.."

Her eyes would open.
