Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Watashi stared absentmindedly out in the direction that he knew the gate was. Even though he couldn't actually see the darned thing, it was more about the symbolism of it, y'know? It just didn't have the same impact if he stayed at home for these sorts of thoughts! Directing his attention to where the gate allegedly was again, Watashi continued to click the little pen that he held - one of the few that he had stolen from the Raikage's office only weeks prior - thinking about the news that he had received not too long ago.

A new Raikage. It was typical of those higher ups in the village to be doing stuff like this. No vote for the common person, no attention paid to the ordinary child. In truth, the actual person that held the Raikage position didn’t really matter all that much to Watashi. It wasn’t like the young kid was ever actually going to meet the Raikage, have a real dialogue with them; hell, Watashi wasn’t even entirely convinced that the Raikage actually existed!

A bunch of oldies could have all just gotten together and made the whole thing up! Like some sort of boogieman hiding under your bed that everyone likes. Some sort of fake god figure so that no one would actually have to take responsibility for anything. The gate’s off limits, People would say. Raikage’s orders that no one gets in or out without a passport. It was a completely stupid rule after all, and only really served to keep the other kids in Cloud isolated and closed off from the outside village. Imagine the horror of the students meeting people from other villages!

And with the convenient words of “The Raikage’s orders”, no one ever has to actually take responsibility for the stupid rule! The gate guards are just doing what they’re told, the asshole that slapped him around was just ‘following orders’ and everyone’s free from moral wrongdoing except for the Raikage. Of course, it’s unpatriotic to go against the Raikage too, so the Raikage is free from all blame too if he even exists! In the end, only the guys at the bottom of the pyramid and the students suffer.

Maybe I should have went to go get those tacos after all.” Watashi mused to himself, facing that outside world that was closed off to him. The words always had a strange way of bouncing around the place when he faced outwards from the gate. Maybe that was why he liked sitting here so much – things that were spoken stayed around for a bit before slowly fading away. Stuff that you said while sitting here was special.

Watashi listened to the words bounce around a bit longer before reaching up to the headset he had on and plucking it off. Putting it on the ground in front of him, the lad thought back to his meeting with the missing nin at this very spot. The world will call you, that Migoya had told him. And you will answer. "I wonder when it's going to call." Watashi asked himself. "And what'll that call be?" What makes you stay?
