Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

There was no way around it... At one moment there was a person gliding through the air with wings, the next moment the guy was flailing down as the wind had stopped and his muscles weren't still adapted to the real flight mechanic. Which resulted in the male going down, in a speed that wasn't preferred at all. "No-nono!" Just in the nick of a time, a blue dragon showed up and caught the red-haired before they were going to the ground, it seemed to have happened from the hokage rock slowly towards the districts, almost to the white one. So the people could be near.

There at a small square, the redhaired was sitting at the ground, his wings folded backwards as he was listening what seemed like a child. "Alrihgt... got it... Try to flap it to stay more afloat... but how do you feel the flap..?" Nao questioned and would eventually look up as he noticed unfamiliar chakra signatures near him. His eyes scanned around until he looked into a direction. "Hello, may I help you?"

The Kumogakure Sennin stepped out of a street corner convenience store and adjusted her shades as the bright afternoon sun beamed down. In her left hand was a bag with some rice balls and in her right a case of local beer. After talking to the shop owner for a minute he was able to narrow down for her a six-pack of amber bottles that held a mighty larger made of wheat, barley, and oranges. The wrap on the bottle called it “Konoha Sundown”, with a relaxed looking sun character wearing shades and lounging on a chair. Rei was excited to try out new beers since she came to Konoha as she was something of a heavy drinker. The Leaf shinobi's sake was already leagues beyond what Kumo produced back home, but then wine wasn't her specialty. Beer on the other hand...

A “woosh” sound from a larger winged creature caught her attention as the woman rummaged around in her pocket to count yen. Her shaded eyes looked up with a hand over her tinted glasses to look towards the sound, the bag of snacks sliding up her arm as she did so. Bird watching wasn’t exactly a huge care of hers, but the sound of flight pointed to a rare, large bird and that sounded interesting to look at; could lead to a study later. Instead she saw what appeared to be a person trying to fly around the mountain where the village had etched their leaders into the side of…and with them, a dragon. Blue, it appeared.

Well now, that is curious,” the Sennin mumbled to herself as she began to walk forward. Then she simply vanished, like popping out of reality. In truth she had simply coated her body in chakra that manipulated the air to hide the scientist’s very existence. It was like the Camo jutsu ANBU used to keep themselves hidden down but on an advanced level only Rei could be capable of with her ability to warp reality itself.. It was still chakra, though, and highly attuned shinobi with a good sensory ability would still notice something wondering around…but there was no tell-tell shimmers of a chakra cloak. Just air.

With that famous shinobi speed the Sennin darted across the Leaf Village up to the Hokage Rock until she landed behind Nova. A young man espousing lizard like wings speaking with another creature that was recently familiar. Dragons and Dragon-kin. The Raikage had undergone a recent transformation herself through a dip in boiling hot dragon blood, and Rei wondered what had been this one’s cause for transformation? This era was turning out to be more and more interesting than the past six put together.

Oh-ho, not bad,” Rei claimed when the Leaf Sennin recognized fellow game as she dropped her advanced invisibility, “You know I can literally count on one hand the number of people I know who can still sense me when I’m trying not to be. Two, by the way. You make three.” She went to offer a hand to be shaken before stopping, putting a black glove on heavily laden with shinobi seals, and then returning the hand back up,

Ryuu Rei, Sennin of the Kumogakure Military’s Main Corps - on a diplomatic trip and vacation. Nice spot you have here, mind if I intrude? I brought beer,” she raised up the bottles and clinked them with a impish smile at Nova. The woman had come a long way from the shy, quiet scientist who preferred to be sequestered in her house or lab.

After her transformative experience in the mountains, Kitsune had developed a profound affinity for the skies. Whenever she wasn't cruising in her Maibatsu Kaminari Cabriolet, she preferred the boundless freedom of soaring above. The wind rushing past, tangling her vibrant crimson hair, provided a sensation that was unparalleled. The city of Konoha, with its bustling streets and towering structures, looked entirely different from above, like a living mosaic of activity and life.

On this particular day, as Kitsune reveled in her aerial escapades, an unexpected sight caught her attention. Another figure, seemingly out of control, was plummeting towards the ground at a terrifying speed. Before panic could fully set in, a magnificent blue dragon swooped in, catching the falling individual with grace and precision. The scene was both breathtaking and alarming.

Kitsune's instincts kicked in, and she immediately veered in the direction of the incident. As she approached, she recognized a familiar figure already on the scene. Rei, her trusted second-in-command and dear friend, was already engaging with the rescued individual. Rei always had an uncanny knack for being at the right place at the right time. Executing a controlled descent, Kitsune landed a safe distance from Rei, ensuring her powerful wings didn't kick up a gust that could disrupt the scene. Once grounded, she smoothly retracted her wings, knowing they could be cumbersome in close quarters.

"I'll never understand how you keep beating me to places when on foot, Rei," Kitsune remarked with a playful tone, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "It's amazing, that's what it is." Then, turning her attention to the red-haired individual, who seemed to be the center of the commotion, she introduced herself with her characteristic blend of authority and warmth. "Oh! Hi. Shinrya Kitsune, Raikage, and medical specialist." She extended her hand, a gesture of both greeting and an offer of assistance. Whether the stranger accepted it or not, Kitsune's intentions were clear: she was there to help.

"So what happened?" she inquired, her gaze filled with genuine concern. "I saw you zoom past, and get caught by a dragon. Everything alright?" Her voice held a note of professional curiosity. After all, as a doctor, Kitsune was always ready to lend her expertise, especially in unexpected situations like this.

“Oh-ho, not bad, you know I can literally count on one hand the number of people I know who can still sense me when I’m trying not to be. Two, by the way. You make three.” At those words... Nao started to pat the back of his head and chuckled a bit awkwardly. "Ehheh... Yea... I tend to be a bit more on edge these days because of many many changes and attacks." Looking over the person in front of him, he noticed she was not from around here.
A hand was offered as a greeting which Nao would accept without any problem or troubles. “Ryuu Rei, Sennin of the Kumogakure Military’s Main Corps - on a diplomatic trip and vacation. Nice spot you have here, Do you mind if I intrude? I brought beer,” A polite smile would get from Nao as he would return the favor. "Sazuki Nao, Sennin of the Medical field of Konoha." He would then take the beer offer, curious how this body would act or react to alcohol. "Thank you."
"I'll never understand how you keep beating me to places when on foot, Rei,"

It.. was fair to say that the male was taken a bit off guard at a time like this and as he looked he saw another red-haired female. He took a glance at his own red hairs and kinda wondered stuff. But before he could or would make assumptions she started to answer. "Oh! Hi. Shinrya Kitsune, Raikage, and medical specialist." Again Nao took the hand and looked her in the eyes. "Sazuki Nao, sennin of Konaha in the medical fields. " He would shake it before letting go and then explain to them both what had transpired.

"It is kinda an odd story... A few days ago I woke up in agony and the next moment... I looked entirely different," He started to explain how he used to look, with the long hairs which were silver in color his eye colors that were almost the same blue grey hue. After that he explained how his transmission went and how his husband actually managed to calm him down... That later he met his little contract that seemed to be attached to him, but he held no memories of the past. On which the little girl started to pout big.

"So... you see... I am trying to get a grasp of muscles I never have or had. Yes, I used to float with my costum jutsu... but that was just glide nothing else. Not I have muscles I cannot even control... I can go half dragon, full dragon and it just barely makes sense to me. So I have a bit of trouble adjusting. "

Rei smiled geniunly at the meet and pulled out a beer for Nao, taking another and using one to pop off the cap of the other, handing the opened one to the medical professional before using her thumb to open the other. With the grace of a cat, the lithe woman sat down on the statue head and took a long drink; easily emptying half of it in one go. The bottle was pulled away from her lips with a happy sigh as she leaned back on one hand to look over the Leaf Village’s natural rustic beauty. A familiar presence then entered her ‘space’ and a smiled played across the Sennin’s lips without even looking up,

That’s because you’re still not used to it. I bet after we get back home where you can train proper, you’ll be a damn terror with those wings,” Rei commented to Kitsune casually before finishing her first beer and popping a second as Nao and the Raikage introduced themselves to each other. His tale of transformation was interesting to say least.
Hey, better that Kitsune. She decided to fall into some hot springs and ended up getting transformed like some kind of hype comic book character!” the other Sennin proclaimed before laughing at her own joke. She slowly scooted up to let her legs dangle from some old Hokage’s forehead.

You know, I could do without the heat…but your village is truly beautiful. There’s something about the simplicity of it that makes my heart sing praises. Which is rare, as I generally don’t care for a lot outside of Kumogakure - including most of the country we’re based in. Full of demons and monsters in them wilds out there…this feels so much more peaceful in comparison,” she chuckled to herself and leaned her head back to look up at her boss,
No wonder Umashi wanted to come back and stick around. Can’t even blame him now. Beer is half-decent too, I might set this as my go-to vacationing site if things keep going this well.

The sheer luck of meeting the medical sennin of Konoha so soon after her formal audience with the Hokage was a delightful surprise for Kitsune. Her eyes twinkling with shared camaraderie, she remarked, "I once wore the title of Medical Sennin too." As Nao delved into her story, Kitsune's mind wandered back to her own tumultuous transformation, a vivid memory of the pool's crimson embrace and the sensation of her very essence being altered.

"It wasn't a choice really," she began, her voice tinged with a mix of amusement and wonder. "The ground just... gave way, and I found myself immersed. But Rei, ever the guardian, was swift to act, pulling me from the now empty pool, and later aiding me in understanding the breadth of my new capabilities." She shot a grateful glance towards Rei, her hand giving a gentle pat on her friend's shoulder.

Turning her gaze back to Nao, she offered, "Navigating new powers can be daunting, but with time, you'll find your footing, I'm sure. My own transformation, while profound, was less visually dramatic. This fiery mane of red hair? It's always been that way. But the added muscle tone, the pointed ears? Those were unforeseen changes from the incident. Not to mention the wings and tail, later on."

Finding a comfortable spot next to Rei, Kitsune's eyes roamed over the sprawling vista of Konoha. "There's an undeniable charm to Konoha, a rustic elegance that's distinct from Kumo's sleek Art Deco designs. It's a different kind of beauty, but equally mesmerizing."

Nao rarely drank anything since his body never could handle alcohol... But now with all the changes, he was curious if his body now could handle it... As he accepted the can he looked towards Rei, and made a toast kind of movement before taking a gulp from it. It did not taste anything different. That was one way for sure. He looked at how she emptied half of it and in his mind, he was in awe that some people could drink like there was no tomorrow without having too much effect... For him, it was often different.

"I know really only of stories about how things should look there... And I do think our geometric maps are now a bit outdated..." He commented before looking to Kitsune. He listened to both of them and started to wonder if there even was a connection to everyone's transformations... He thought for a moment, a bit lost in thought as he then looked back to the others. "Half-decent... yea, this beer kind is about that... The worst one is Kirin in my opinion... Asashi is decent but the best is the Sapporo Yebisu Meister, but if you want a more hoppy flavour Yo-Ho Aooni. He gave the names to the other sennin as he thought it was nice to share something like this in a while.

"I see... So red hair has always been a thing for you. For me, it certainly is something else... Do you also have a full dragon form?" He eventually asked and blurted out to the other as he stood up and walked a step to her. "I have it... I have like human form, half form, and full form kind of thing. Even my fiance cannot really figure it out... We are trying, I mean... Keiji-kun is just the best like that..." he smiled bright and warmly as he started to play with his ring.

"And then to think you visit in the more horrible times... I mean, the weather is slightly decent these times... The ones I like the most are autumn and then winter, then summer. It's odd... But I love to use food coloring on the statues here when it has snowed. It's an innocent prank, but it even makes the children happy. Don't tell Takeshi-sama that I said that please." He then noticed he blurted out basically his biggest secret.

"If you want... You can have a time dinner at our place? It's maybe not the best and there can be children around. It's Clanhouse Sakurako. Just please give me a heads up, if you have allergies do let me know. So I can keep that in check too. We are careful with those things." Nao spoke as he looked to the both of them, his can in the meanwhile almost empty. He did feel it a bit, but not enough to stop directly.

When Nao spoke of the other seasons and beer Rei couldn’t help but want to see them. The seasons in Kumogakure were a site to behold as well, with winter being the most dangerous and beautiful simultaneously. Hearing the other Sennin’s remark about dying the statues colors when the snow dropped sent Rei into an actual fit of laughter. The very thought of one of a military’s highest commander in a field going around pulling pranks to entertain children was highly amusing.
Yeah, your secret is safe with me,” Rei giggled trying to calm down her laughter.

Hearing Keiji’s name ring out was a weird feeling for Rei by this point. A man everyone spoke of highly and yet, she had never seen hide or tail of the person. It was like he was the village’s best kept secret. Of course, unbeknownst to the Kumo Sennin, that was most appropriate for a person holding the title of ANBU, but it was still weird that she now knew more about the man through sheer hearsay than having actually met them. The beer lifted up and drained as the two medical talked about their hair and dragon stuff. Neat to say the least, but then Nao mentioned a proper dinner. Rei was already of a mind to refuse with how tense her last meal had been with an official village leader but then Konoha’s medical leader mentioned children.

I love children,” Rei said with her eyes legitimately becoming wider. Which was a weird thing because not even a few years ago - not even quite decade yet - Rei had been one of those opinion that children tended to get underfoot and were only as valuable as their potential. War, and two physical transformations changed that. From android to human again she had learned to feel once more and grew a maternal instinct for those in her branch basically overnight. With her DNA converted due to the Lycan Virus, she was now more beast than human; making that instinct so much stronger.

…buuuut, we should probably wrap up our trip soon. Who knows what’s going on in Kumogakure without everyone at the helm. I mean, the Judges can keep the country itself running just fine, but our shinobi…well, one leader is a bit of a recluse and the other is…also…a recluse; just spicier about it.” Rei cracked herself up at the last bit before finishing the second beer and popping her third,

Huh, guess I should of bought more.

"Well I'm sure we could get some updated maps sent your way" Kitsune said, when Nao mentioned the maps being outdated. "Isn't that right Rei-chan?" she added, looking to her friend for confirmation that new maps could be sent to Leaf. Then, Nao mentioned a few beer brands, and Kitsune looked back and forth between the two. She wasn't a beer drinker herself, so it all went above her head, but that was entirely okay.

When Nao asked if Kitsune had a full dragon form, she simply nodded. Had they been back in Lightning Country, Kitsune would've never said anything about her dragon powers, as that'd be a tightly controlled secret. Couldn't risk any would-be assassins getting the information that Kitsune no longer possessed the Sharingan. Then, when Nao mentioned that his fiance couldn't figure it out either, and then dropped Keiji's name, Kitsune chuckled. "Hah. Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time." she said with a smile.

At Rei's mention of loving children, Kitsune's head whipped over to look at her friend, who - in the past - had never expressed such a sentiment, and that surprised Kitsune. "Wait, since when?" she asked, scratching her head a bit before turning back to Nao "I think that sounds like a great idea though. I'd love to. Would also be fun to say hi to Keiji after all these years." she added with a light chuckle. She hadn't seen the man, whom she'd taught, since Shima Haruka had murdered the then Raikage, Hayata Shin. Kitsune wondered what Keiji would say when he found out that not only did she become Raikage, but also leader of the entirety of Lightning Country.

Hearing that his secret was safe, he was really glad about that. Not only that but also learned the fact she had a huge dragon form. He would get a twinkle in his eyes and already understand it was a secret. "Gotcha!" He would comment and look towards both of them and offer a dinner of sorts. He would nod as got a no, it was understandable and even he was a bit unsure about how long they were going to be here.

Then he got a yes towards the dinner plans and he was feeling good about it. "Just let me know which evening would suit you best and which food types you both aren't allowed to have, think of allergies or lactose things." He would comment and would write down his home address on a piece of paper. Paper that he always carried around, it had a picture faded in the back so it still could be used as a notepad. It clearly was a children's drawing from the Byoin, but he wouldn't bore them with those details.

"Just send an messenger or something in the end morning and I will make sure you all have an amazing meal than." With that he would point Tama towards one of the nearest beer stores in case she did indeed want a lot more beer or try some others. He would bow out of respect to Kitsune and then made his way. "I got to go, the kids should be home."

Rei nodded with a smile. She didn’t have any allergies that she was aware of. In fact the entire trip from a higher altitude climate into a warm, humid one had done little to nothing against the sennin’s senses. She wasn’t exactly sure if that was attributed by the fact of her new fangled DNA structure or if…no. No, it had to be the Lycan Virus. She was born a sickly child with a weak immune system. Her late older brother had been the only one to save her from that fate before falling prey to the clan’s curse; and even then, she still got seasonal allergies. Or, at least, she used too. The sudden distraction in her head caused a slip on that restraint. Chakra slipped out of her palm and ate half the beer bottle, the other half dropping down to shatter against the head of a hokage statue. With a sigh she slid her hand across and made both beverage and glass vanish into ions that escaped into the air.

Looking to over where Nao had pointed, she stood back up with a stretch and popped her neck by tilting it side-to-side,
Well, I don’t know what’s on your agenda but, I’m gonna go have another go at Konoha beer. Text me if you need anything,” and with the end of that sentence she was gone. Her image reappeared again at the bottom of the mountain, back onto the streets with hand in her pockets.

At least she had one thing she was super grateful for in these new powers.

Kitsune would accept the paper from Nao and nod, smiling. But then, before Kitsune could do anything else, Nao would be gone, and then Rei would vanish practically just as fast, mentioning something about having another go at beer, which Kitsune would chuckle at and nod. Well, that was that, then. She was all alone again. Guess it was a good a time as any to resume practicing flying, so she'd let her large white wings form from her back once more, before launching herself high up into the air, and flying off at near supersonic speeds, if only to not cause a sonic boom in the middle of the city, as that'd likely get people talking, which she really didn't want.
