Ninpocho Chronicles

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

A couple days that monster hunting adventure with Nozomi, the masked rogue had gotten word that there had been women to come up missing whenever they went into a certain area in the heartlands. While it wasn't really strange for people to get lost or be attacked by animals there had been rumors of a large monkey fleeing the area. Figuring that some monkey wouldn't be a match for him and his sweet Kensei Spirit Maru went by himself to exterminate the monster alone despite warnings that this creature was a one of the baddies that needed a team of hero's to kill it. When one of the elders told him this the rogue laughed.

“Look I'll take care of your little monkey problem just make sure you got my money when I get back.” the arrogant rogue spun his musket, the old witch of a woman couldn't exactly stop him from going on his own rather than going with a team. But he seemed like a rookie who just haven't killed a beast like this before. “Are you sure that you would be alright out there” said the elder. “Sarugami’s are deadly in combat not to mention they are much, much more intelligent than your everyday monkey.” The rogue again brushed it off, reassured the old lady that he would be fine, then began to head down the path where the monster had gone a according to the witness accounts. The rogue walked slowly on the path to see if he would be able to find at least a sign of where the beast may had gone. On the ground he noticed a sandal laying on the ground by a tree and he went to go pick it up. If the sandal belonged to a kidnapee of the yokai then it shouldn't be hard tracking down the creature to find where the woman was or at least know what happened to her.

He coat the lost sandal in his chakra so it would give off a golden glow, then began to float to track down it's missing wearer. Maru ran after the floating item, his cape flowing behind him while he ran. The sandal lead the way deeper into the wilderness until it suddenly dropped as if it already found it's missing wearer. He looked around and what he saw made his heart sink to his stomach. A monkey, almost as tall as him was hunched over the victim wearing monks robes which was most likely stolen from another victim it may had already eaten. A sickening crunch echoed through the woodland coming from the monster who seemingly hadn't noticed the rogue. The girl hand her arm ripped off from the shoulder, the monster was eating the girl's missing arm and Maru, seemingly wasn't ready for this kind of gruesomeness yet, had thrown up upon seeing the Yokai eating the poor girl it took for a sacrifice.

As he heaved up his lunch, the Sarugami snapped it's head up then bellowed a thunderous laugh that made the rogue sick to his stomach. ”AHHHHHH- HA-HA-HA-HA-HA.” mocked the Sarugami to his hunter, already knowing why the masked man was here. ”They sent a buffoon who can't get past a little gore?” it taunted, standing up to show it's full height. It lifted up the arm then took a bite out of it as if it was the leg of a chicken leg, possibly just to make Maru uncomfortable since he was here to end the creature.

The monkey galloped towards the rogue who was still sick, already deciding Maru's move for him. Once it got close enough to the rouge it used the disembodied arm as a weapon then swung it at Maru's face! A switch was flipping inside of the rogue, pushing his illness to the side to leaned back to dodge the arm which passed by his face then he landed a hard punch into the monsters thoat, one mind you he was quite proud of. That punch would've kept a normal person on the ground for at least a minute, but this monster dropping the limb held it's throat taking a couple steps back then quickly recovered. Maru then drew his weapon, the beast was on him already then it landed a punch to Maru's solar plexus that felt like he was hit with a hammer!

Maru quickly recovering from the blow began firing at the yokai with his signature weapon, the thunderous booms of the rogues musket made the yokai's ears ring and it ran from where Maru was aiming to circle around him as the masked man fired shot after shot with each shot missing. The monkey kicked itself into a tree to hide from rogue, the rustling in the leaves and he could see the robes of the monkey but when he fired at where he heard the noises from he ended up missing. The Yokai doing a front flip out of the trees in behind the hunter then landed a kick to the rogues shoulder when Maru tried to turn to take a shot at the creature causing his shoulder to pop out of place. Pain shot through Maru's right arm, and the Yokai did a spinning back kick into his stomach sending the hunter skirting backwards into a nearby tree with a hard thud!

”Never send a low class shinobi after a god.” the monkey growled then began to slowly make it's way to where Maru was, looking to finish this fight and probably get a better meal. The rogue popped his shoulder back into place, seeing his weapon was behind the Yokai he decided to try something different… Maru began to snap a look into the monsters eyes then tried to ensnare the beast into genjustu, hammering into the Yokai's mind with a his Genjustu the Yokai didn't even realize what was happening to it until it was beginning to get slower, and slower and slower… then finally it stopped as though it was turned to stone. The Petrification genjutsu that the target's body to harden like stone. This illusion, however, does not grant a person armor but freezes them in stone. While petrified, they are capable of still thinking and seeing their surroundings, they just can't move or do anything other than that. Maru laughed at the Yokai as it struggled to break the illusion but it was no use. “Heh! Now you're stuck like that.” Maru reached his hand out for his musket with his good hand, spinning it but wincing in pain from his sensitive arm he had to pop back into place.

The monkey screamed, sounding like a enraged animal with words in between. ”Defeated by a mere trick of genjustu?!”” the Yokai screamed. Maru was getting tired of this song and dance, possibly tired from the battle as well. He was going to end this, he aimed the musket at the Yokai, Maru winked at his musket to gather golden chakra to the end of the barrel into a giant orb of chakra, the rogue was glowing a faint golden lighting from his signature weapon while the monkey screamed at him. ”YOU'RE JUST A HUMAN! YOU CAN'T GET RID OF A GOD!

“Just watch me.” He said then he put his finger onto the trigger then squeezed…. “OMNI-FLAAAAAAASH!” Maru fired the beam of golden chakra at Yokai, trapping the monster inside of a golden box of chakra then the rouge began to speak in a voice that wasn't his own. It sounded more like two voices layered over one another, one was the voice of his signature weapon and the other was his voice as they both called upon the power of the Seal Of Mortality that they used within their Omni-Flash.

”KI!”

Maru made a vertical slash with his fingers, the golden chakra set the creature ablaze with the character of the spirit appearing in front of the box.
”BATSU!”

Another slash, the box began to shrink a bit as the character of a cursed appeared on one side of the box, the Yokai screamed with rage and pain as it was beginning to be banished to it's realm.
”KAMI!”

He slashed the Youkai in half, then the final symbol of God appeared. Then the seals formed a triangle then a bright golden lighting appeared as the Yokai was banished and the symbols that Maru made dissolved. Maru panted, that banishment took a good deal of chakra but he was alright for the exception of the his sprained arm. His Kensei Spirit congratulated the rogue on a job well done despite it looking a bit rough however his job wasn't done yet. Upon completion of his task, the rogue dug a whole for the dead woman the Yokai had eaten then buried her and hoped that her ghost was pure enough to go to paradise. After giving the woman a proper burial the rogue strapped his musket on to his back then went back to the small town where the old lady so he could tell the fate of the woman to her so she could tell the victims family about it. He would do it himself but he didn't want to be blamed for not being on time or be accused letting her die. Maru even gave the elder the location of where he buried the girl and placed paper seals around the burial grounds that would protect them from any evil Yokai should there be any still lurking around the forest. He wasn't a monk so he asked some warrior monks to scan the area to make sure no more monsters were around and to seal the path of the gravesite from anything trying to get a easy meal should the family want to visit the woman. The kind elder treated the masked man's shoulder, using her medical ninjustu to heal Maru's shoulder and Maru was able to use it good as new! Next time he goes on one of these monster hunts he'll remember to go all out and learn some medicine ninjustu himself so he could stay out of the hospital. He didn't know why he didn't like the hospital but Maru had always felt like that he just shouldn't go to one.

The elder gave Maru his payment, it was brave for him to go take on the Sarugami on his own not to mention how he seemingly placed the needs of the poor woman's family first. Such acts should be rewarded even if the rogue wasn't all together a good person. “Here, it's everything we have. Thank you for all your help.” She said, one of the monks gave Maru dirty look when he happily accepted the money. Though he was nice, he wasn't a saint so if they were expecting him to feel sorry for them it wasn't going to happen. He didn't just fight and get his butt kicked by a monkey just to leave with nothing, the money was why he even decided to come out to begin with. The rogue slapped one of the monks on the back who seemed to be a member of the monster hunter guide. “Remember make sure you seal the path from anything that isn't human, don't wanna come back here to find the parents gotten eaten. I'm a monster hunter not a monster killing machine.” the monk respectfully bowed. “These charms I made myself, no demon, spirit or Yokai would be getting in…” the monk paused looking at the suitcase of yen that Maru had in his hand. “Say, since you called us you think you can-”

“Hell naw! Ask the girls family.” Maru already knew the scam artist was about to ask him for some money and he wasn't giving nothing. He didn't even give the money back to the girls family so what made the bald headed guy believe he was going to give to the shrine? He turned his back. “Just make sure that the grave is safe and if they can't afford it. Then take the seals down, I'm going to the bank.” The rogue was heading off again.. onto the next adventure of Maru's Bizzare Journey.
