Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kamaru knocked on the door to the other Sennin’s office. Although it wasn’t really his place to be overly concerned it might be in his rights to be overly paranoid. If it turned out to be a waste of time she would probably not mind it wasn’t her time that was wasted, granted if it turned out to be something more… Well she’d probably be thankful someone did the initial legwork to look at things and take it from here. For now he’d see if she had a few moments to discuss things. Clearing his throat he started to talk but found a lose for words or rather what to call her.

”Lig..err pink.. no Pink Li.. Sennin of the Guardians, it’s Namamoto you go a second?” he finally asked. In a way he was glad he wasn’t initially seen.

Sennin of the Guardians? Kamaru thought questioning himself. He hadn’t bothered to learn the woman’s name so he wondered what he was officially supposed to call her. Guardian of Lightning? Lightning? Miss Lightning? Ms. Lightning? Kamaru hadn’t gotten use to the whole official thing yet either, he hoped his roughness and informal nature at times didn’t get him popped in the mouth. He’d find out eventually once he stuck his head in he figured.

She wasn't often found in these offices, but when she was it was quiet, and few rarely stopped in. Most of her job consisted of behind the scenes work anyway, so she'd grown used to working as an individual and micromanaging the work of others, training them and making sure they all did their part to keep things in the village running smoothly. She sat in her chair, leaning back with her legs crossed on the desk, a stern expression on her face. Thoughts raced through her mind on matters that were beginning to concern her. Lots of news and rumors going around the village she wasn't sure which was more important to look into, and she couldn't spread the forces too thin chasing nothing. She was dressed in her everyday clothes, ones that sort of meant she wasn't on official hours, despite consistently being on the job. Suddenly a knock was heard as her door, followed by some muffled stuttering. She stood, and made her way to the door, opening it. Her expression still hadn't changed much though she nodded Kamaru a greeting. "Wasn't expecting company, but I have time. Come in." She held the door for Kamaru, and if he entered, she would lightly shut it behind her.

Making her way back over to her desk, she moved some papers, placing them back in the few filing cabinets she had. Seems the room still wasn't very personalized, and contained only the necessary furniture of an office. The desk, at least, was free of clutter now, which made the use of conversing easier and less distracting. "Seems you've settled in well since last we met. What brings you by?" She crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair. She was more in a relaxed position than one that was on edge. Maybe the chair was just comfy. She waited for him to speak, curious as to what this was about. Most likely it was seeking advice of some sort, perhaps input, but one could never be entirely sure.

Kamaru blinked at the woman when she came to the door and opened in, normally his downtime when not at work was spent… well not at work. That was probably a difference Kamaru learned about himself versus the native Sennin, his possible lack of dedication possibly to the job. Coming in a glance around showed things hadn’t changed much, function office even after hours still working possibly.

She cleared some things off her desk and made a bit of small talk but for the most part cut to the chase of why he was there.

With a shrug he answered a bit to the small talk cryptically, ”Time makes all things move on I guess.” he explained unbutton his jacket and taking a seat in the chairs on the opposite side of the desk.

Leaning forward as he propped his elbows on his thighs he got to the main point his hands threading together, the pads of his index fingers tapping each other.

”The call from the Gates about the influx of refugees recently…” Kamaru stated, ”Was it code for someone should look into it? It seemed odd to mention but given the time frame to notice and say there’s a lot of people coming through do we know how many exactly and the interval between entrances? It does skew as a bit odd until it’s looked into from my point of view. Not to bring up events that lead to the current Leaf City but paranoia makes me see similarities even if they’re not there.” Kamaru explained looking seriously wondering if it was general concern or something that need immediately looked at or if he was just seeing things not there from past hardships being projected.

”I figure this would be something in your jurisdiction but does Iwa look at sudden influxes of people and do risk analysis for threats? Singular people or a few at a time might not be something to look into unless they aggregate into a large amount of people with some kind of lateral group of objectives or something. If no one’s looking into the records for this kind of thing currently would you mind if I look into it? If it’s nothing, it’s nothing but if it’s something you’ll probably want to know no?” Kamaru asked staring at the woman in front of him.

She was probably more versed in the security of Stone but given Kamaru’s background and topped with the Fire Daimyo’s detachment of ‘peacekeepers’ and their actions during a civil riot it would seem like an easy way to possibly do something in the Village of Iwa if the influx was indeed abnormal. It might just be he didn’t know what other branches ‘did’ and how but if she explained it was fine he’d leave it be. He didn’t mind doing a bit of leg work now and again.

Kamaru brought with him a matter that had indeed began to concern her as well. her brow creased as a frown overtook her expression. She pulled out some papers from a drawer in the desk and set them in front of her. The paper was a list of gate patrol schedules for her operatives. These members were required to report every time they handled gate duty. It was part of the job description. She could note though, that many were lacking. "I have noticed, and many claim to be refugees, but yet it's been quite some time since the two villages fell. That in itself is suspicious, and if they've survived this long why seek shelter now. There were two calls over the intercoms recently asking for my assistance. I chose not to step in because I'm not going to babysit someone every time they can't make up their mind on who might be a bad influence on the citizens and the village, when it's part of their job description. But prior to that we've had many. These aren't all entirely documented though, as they should be. I'm concerned that with all of these shinobi, with no ties to our village, entering, we may be seeing an act of terrorism against our people. They'll try to do harm from the inside out. Is that not what occurred to your people?" Megami pulled out a blank sheet of paper and began to write the ideas down that were coming to her, things for later potentially. She took a few moments to scrawl notes. She could see now that there was going to need to be some sort of form that everyone on gate duty would need to fill out in order to maintain the authority and safety of the village. Seemed an opportune time while the Main Branch Sennin was here. "Would you be adverse to a patrol board that documents not only the names of people that come through, but also descriptions of both physical appearance and mental profiling? And the documentation of those who orchestrated the passings. Perhaps something like this" She passed the paper over to Kamaru, which held the contents of what she meant.

She would wait to see if he had anything further to say on it, perhaps change, remove, or add some things himself. Either way it was something that needed to be handled properly and with a matter of discussion this could be handled and instilled rather quickly. However, something else was bugging her. Something about the numbers is what truly concerned her. Sure the documentation should be cleaned up, but that doesn't stop the amount of traffic flow. "What do you think of a set number? The people's safety is my greatest concern, as well as allowing them to have a safe home. To avoid chaos, perhaps we should limit the amount of foreigners within Iwa at any given time. We could have any number of shady characters in our village as we speak." It was simply a suggestion, but one that wasn't necessarily a bad idea. It could even be viewed as logical and common in most other places perhaps, but she was unsure. What she did know is that people seemed to be coming here in bigger numbers and more frequently and that meant more risk to her own people, because people with less affiliation seem to care less about what they do in a place that is not home.

Initially he thought maybe his questions had overstepped some bounds maybe by her expression changes. Oddly enough though she actually agreed.

”That was a concern of mine as well...Granted that was an poorly disguised tactic since the ‘please keepers’ sent were more like sliencers of anyone in their path while in the streets. I’d prefer not having to live and fight though a simliar situation again if it can be avoided with due diligence.” he commented before she asked him a more pointed question.

Kamaru looked over the document, ”Maybe add in where they’re coming from and their reason for requesting entry but it looks fine to me.” he said passing it back.

”Limiting the numbers would also be a process to look into possibly. Might add more work in oversight though. Also looking into how long a guest stayed might be flagged, they might be a squatter or waiting for things to die down before venturing out. As for the shady characters about even the trusted are at times watched...this too is fine I think but it’s probably add more overwatch duties to certain personnel.” Kamaru stated meeting her gaze, he didn’t shy away from what was implied, he didn’t hold it against anyone and understood the stigma.

”Anything else you need from me?” Kamaru asked figuring for the most part they’d settled into what could be done in the future.

Listening to Kamaru speak about his homeland briefly and understood, to some degree, the severity it must feel like to lost your country and your people. She agreed with the sentiment that seeing such befall her own would be a devastating blow, one she could not afford. Megami nodded and as she took the paper, noted the necessary changes, seeing the need for them as well. "If we're in agreement, I'll try to get this enacted immediately. Security has been sloppy for far too long and I fear with this random act we may need to take even further action. Perhaps even a more united front on the governments part. I would advise we meet with the Kage soon to discuss these matters more in depth, and figure out a course of action for our village. Maybe you'd agree." She spoke seriously, not wanting to waste a moment of the time she could be spending it in a way that would better benefit the village. She placed the paper in a stack that was meant to be processed soon. Ones she had been planning to get arranged for a while now, but were just now coming to fruition.

She clasped her hands together once more, her eyes trained on Kamaru. He met her gaze, and she didn't quite follow what he meant exactly, but was getting the gist of it. "Sometimes a heavier burden, makes you work harder to protect others, but it can also break you. I hope we are strong enough. It isn't much of a choice as to whether we can afford to be relaxed anymore, we will have to try harder. I will do my best to aid where I can." Megami nodded and extended her hand to shake Kamaru's. "Thank you for informing me of this situation, and aiding me with these tasks. Hopefully we can work on making a positive change soon." She stood and would escort him to the door if he planned on leaving. Obviously in the event he had more to say she would sit and continue to collaborate with him. It was good to at least remain in some contact with other branches, and almost necessary of the leaders. She had a lot on her mind and definitely needed to see if she could get those papers processed and documents processed.

Kamaru listened to hear thoughts on the matter and talk of a meeting with the Kage to dicuss things in greater detail, ”I wouldn’t call it sloppy persay, the important parts always get covered first that’s the nature of the beast, it’s were we’re not looking which is the easiest to exploit. But I agree although he doesn’t really seem to take pleasure in extensive meetings and paperwork it is something we’ll have to take up with him.”

Kamaru nodded as she walked him to the door, ”And sometimes a heavy burden is just that, it’s something we carry for a time until it’s someone else’s turn. We are as weak or strong as we will be when the time comes. I do agree diligence and a bit of mixing of new and old ways would be best.” he replied taking the hand that shook his, ”It was mostly me wondering about things but they seem to be taken care of quite easily. Let me know if you need anything of me or the Main Branch for assistance. Thank you for your time, good day Miss.” Kamaru add bowing slightly with his hands free he buttoned his jacket again and left the office closing the door behind him as to let her get back to her own thoughts and work.
