Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Mission Title: DotA
Rank: S+
Mission Mod: Souji
Participants: Inu Endo / Akechi
Objective(s): Journey to the fabled Tsuchikage kinjutsu lair and subdue any ancient guardians stationed there.

Standing at the entrance of the cave, Endo wore the typical garb of a shinobi about to go on a covert mission. His ebony skin tone seemed to meld well with accompanying green cloak that matched his odd eye color. Situations like this afforded him no chance to hide the fact of his half Arcadian lineage. To his delight though, he wasn't exactly going before a crowd of people to speak but he was in fact about to go on a mission to a place that could quite literally be considered a hellish hole in the ground. He'd read the ancient manuscripts backwards and forwards and what he sought seemed to only be barely mentioned in something like a hindsight, almost as if information was rather purposefully missing. This had prompted much inquiry on his part but not even the oldest librarians could help him in his quest for information on this hidden cache of power seemingly erased from history by Tsuchikage long ago. Checking his gear one more time, he had everything in its place. All he waited on now was for his traveling companion and a favorable wind with which to take in his last breath before exploring the relatively unknown.

”I guess this is good enough.” Akechi said to himself, switching to a more traditional Uchihan outfit. Clearly he was hiding his identity. He actually wanted to be identified as traveling with the Iwain Kage, proof that he was a guest of said person. If Endo chose to betray him, it’d also allow him to easily smite the Kage as some type of corrupt official. Subterfuge was a skill that a ninja should always keep in his arsenal because no one could ever predict the day that shit hit the fan. That was just Akechi’s way of life. Offer one hand but arm the other…

And make sure there was no secret about it…

”Ah! Endo-san. Fancy meeting you here,” Akechi spoke, making his presence known as he stepped out of some nearby shadows. A simple high-collared, open chest shirt with an Uchihan symbol emblazoned on the back of it and a pair of black Uchiha robes covered by a purplish belt sash being all that signaled his “job” as a shinobi. ”Nothing like Arcadia, eh? So… it’s just us two?” He asked quizzically, grinning as he offered the man a slight bow before turning toward the entrance to the tunnel.

”It’s very quaint.” It really wasn’t. He honestly didn’t feel like venturing into a hallowed out hole in the ground but he didn’t really have a choice. It his job…

That simple.

The excavation seemed to be going well though with everything around them just as the waters woudl drip from the ceiling. The rocks under their boots would crumble effortlessly as their weight seemed to shift unwillingly against the brittle shards of the stones beneath them. The two strong warriors seemed to be lookig for something... What was it though? What was the arc of their journey? This would grant them some time to get acquainted with one another. There was alot to get on the table and with the ideals of the Arcadia... and the depths of the origins of Iwa all coming together. The history seemed long lost and it would be soon found....

What was that sound though? Like wind chimes... but there was no wind within these caves. There was nothing. The air was stale and aside from the sounds of the dripping there was literally nothing that could come of this sound.... and a small crushing sounds of bones... vastly different from the sounds of the stones crumbling under their feet.

Twas the beginning....

Shrugging a bit, Endo smirked. "It would seem so." With that comment summing up both of the ones made by Akechi, Endo would motion forward and begin to walk. It wasn't as though he was at a terribly rushed paced but the quicker they got into this place, then the quicker they'd get out of it. With as much as Akechi showed off the Uchiha clan trademark, Endo wondered if it ever occurred to the man that there were those in the world who'd hunt women and children down for just a single eye, much less an organized pair such as what Akechi sported. Producing a chakra enhanced hand torch from one of his many pockets, he touched the tip with but a finger and it instantly glowed far brighter than any normal torch. Though it wouldn't light the entire expanse, it would allow them to see somewhere in the range of around ten or so meters in front of them. Wishing to keep from going insane from the eerie sounds around him, Endo began his own small talk. "While it's not typical for Arcadians to overly care about the categorizing of what most call bloodline abilities as far as family traits go, I've found that no matter how you classify them, the Sharingan still inspires the stuff of fearful legends." It didn't help either than Endo himself sported an off color variant either but perhaps he could learn a bit more about Akechi should his life soon depend on the man.

OOC: *Figured that it would be easier to keep Souji sane by OOCing my actions.*
Lit a chakra enhanced torch, allowing Akechi and I to see ten meters around. Continued further into the cave going forward.

”Not the way I expected to spend my weekend,” Akechi mused, briefly pausing to inspect the muck on his boots from the cave floor. Two men fumbling around in a deep dark cave wasn’t anyone’s idea of romantic, and what type of weekend would it be without some sort of romance. A job is a job though, and there were two other days for that type of thing. A shinobi never sleeps, I guess? At least not for long…

”Great. Racism at its finest.” He commented sharply, grinning as the words casually slipped from his lips. It truly didn’t matter where he turned; Sunagakure, Konoha, Kumogakure and now even Iwagakure, the racism or at least illogical, prejudicial fear of Uchiha because of their powerful eyes. As far as shinobi went, Uchiha were the gold standard, and people far and wide seemed to try their hardest to simply emulate a fraction of their power through various means. It was the same fear that caused the destruction of Akechi’s people… a people that he plastered across his back and transformed himself into a living personification of his family’s name so that the world may never forget it. Fear and prejudice led his people astray. Fear and prejudice led people to destroy the foundations that Akechi was born and raised from. Though he hid it behind a faux grin, the man truly did have enough of people commenting on his “fearful” eyes. It brought forth the question…

”Legends are just that. How many atrocities have to be committed in favor of these legends before my people actually give you something to fear?” Just how many would it take before full on rebellion by the Uchiha, who hadn’t been wiped out, was at hand? ”After all, if you keep referring to Uchiha as monsters; SURPRISE, they become just that… I will become just that.” Akechi spoke, his voice carrying weight instead of volume, stopping in his tracks as he uttered the last statement. It was the first time that he had actually said it aloud. Sure, it was always a thought but having entire villages ostracize you as some type of monster, tended to elicit that type of response.

If they wanted a monster… They’d get a monster…

If Endo (edit: hahahaha) turned to face Akechi, he’d be met with blackened eyes, accented with a red star surrounding dilated pupils. Emotion had triggered the Eternal eyes of the Sharingan… the very power that he seemed so afraid of…

”Hopefully, we get some action inside of this cave. I’d love to give you front row tickets to the power that you seem so wary of.”

Their banter mattered not... for it was time for them to hear the swoons of a siren woman... well what could be thought was a woman sitting upon a ledge with her back facing the duo. Endo would be able to see that her chakra was full of malice and ill content... though a glimmer of light was within her. It was as if her life force was being suppressed by the darkness itself. Akechi would be able to as well. Their was something they both would feel though... a large amount of energy flowing below her. It was going to be something amazing to know, but the energy was not good nor evil... it was cloaking something within and behind, though what could it be?

The Siren would continue singing her song~ and with that Endo and Akechi would feel... inclined to accompany her. What happened next was on them, if they truly wanted to know what that energy source was it was just a few steps away... but if they got close the woman would slither up from the ledge and face them before they could look over the ledge. Stopping them with a mere palm of her hand.

And turn Endo did, just in time to briefly lock eyes with Akechi before he was somehow able to turn away though it wasn't of his own will. Somehow they'd managed to stumble upon some sort of lost songstress. It was eerie in that she seemed to speak to his soul, though it was interesting in how she managed to procure for herself a place here of all places. His lips moving before the words were formed, he uttered something about the monster in all of them before he more concretely stammered. "I don't remember reading about this . . ." The irony of stumbling upon this sort of dark beauty was a mystery true but as enamored as Endo was, he still couldn't ignore the feeling that his gut was giving him, something wasn't as it seemed but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Before he knew it, the tell-tale signs of the cursed seals were curling up his figure, bringing his own chakra to the visible spectrum in a faint green hue. Still yet, he was drawn forward partially against his will and partially due to blind curiosity.

Ideal speak seemed to come to a standstill as the duo stood in front of a woman of mysterious origin. Though she did not seem to be devoid of hostility at the moment, Akechi could feel the energy that flowed beneath her. However, he wasn’t able to tell if the energy was a product of the woman or the product of whatever laid dormant below. His eyes picked up the malice and ill content of her chakra, her slender figure filling Akechi with emotions more synonymous with caution than allure. Clearly, she did not match the energy below her; leading Akechi to view her as more of a bodyguard than the actual holy grail. In other words… she was an obstacle…

One that he didn’t feel like dealing with at the moment…

He listened as the woman sung her song, he even felt compelled to sing along with the woman. However, Akechi remained focused on the task at hand. The eyes of the Eternal glared forward as the young Uchiha moved toward the energy source, his hands reaching toward the hilt of his blade as the woman stopped him in his tracks. ”Do you speak the common tongue?” He asked, a sly grin pasted across his face as he glared into the woman’s eyes. ”If you do, I’d love to know what you seem to be protecting down here.”

Akechi wouldn’t make any more moves for the time being. He simply wanted to test the woman. How cautious was she? How primitive? How dangerous? He’d find out soon…

And he’d adjust accordingly.

[OOC: Sorry for the wait. Been extremely busy and sick. Got a handle on it now so I should be ok.]

[OOC: O_O, yeah, was busy with my parents and Fiance' this past weekend. We can provide failed mission rewards methinks. I'll take the hit for it. If anything though, can we get an ambiguous ending to it as if there was a fight and we ended up having to abandon the mission for a later date? Cave in perhaps?]

[Nvm. I'll just request failed mission rewards but I'll RP like our fighting with the "spirit woman" caused a cave in.]
