Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Senshi’s maroon eyes flittered open as the shuffling sounds of a busy nurse awoke him. Remorsefully, he pulled the scratchy white blanket over his eyes, trying to recall the rapidly fading scattered dreams that had entertained him through the night — vague shapes, whirlwinds of color, and soothing voices were all that came to him. With a sigh of defeat, he pulled the blanket off from his face.

The pallid boy, aged 16, breathed in the sterile air, slowly, so as not to cause himself another coughing fit. He reached for a glass of water that had been left by his bedside sometime before he’d awoken; it helped, a little.

In recent days he’d been feeling well enough to escort himself to the washroom, albeit with some difficulty. Ambling out of bed, gingerly testing his weight on feeble limbs, was a slow process. When at last he could crawl back into his cozy, scratchy, cot — weary and worn from his arduous odyssey, but clean and freshly clothed in a new hospital gown — he felt that he could eat his weight in meat. After finishing half a small pork cutlet, he couldn't even fathom taking another bite.

His strength all but depleted, he propped himself up in bed and reached for a book simply titled "Applications of Chakra," settling in for the better part of the morning. Days here were slow and entertainment was limited. Senshi made do with what he could; conceptually, at least, he was equal among his peers.

The doctors worried about his health. They were afraid he'd never possess the constitution for combat, travel, or even simple activities. Senshi was a shinobi, but should he be? This was the fourth time, in as many years, that the boy had taken residence within their halls. Surely it was a sign?

The boy would not be dissuaded. Day after day, he insisted that he was feeling a bit better. He was convinced that he would one day set foot upon foreign lands, gaze upon sights too alien to imagine, and immerse himself in cultures yet undiscovered. He was a bonafide dreamer.

Today, like many others before it, was moving slowly. He began to hum to himself as he read, the pages turning with ever quickening pace. He wished something exciting would happen.

Akazukin was wandering the halls of the hospital to visit a friend, but she was having trouble finding the room. A nurse told her the room number, but unfortunately she forgot what it was. “Now what room was Haku-chan’s in again?” Taisen Hakuren was a member of the Yamanaka bloodline, but unfortunately she was blind. She was also born with a condition in which she is substantially physically weaker than most people her age. With her frail body, her parents did not enroll her into the academy with her siblings. Her parents with their best judgement deemed the shinobi life too difficult for her with her conditions. To give her to the academy would be like throwing her to the wolves. However using the powers of the Yamanaka to possess both people and animals, she proved to be quite the shinobi. Akazukin admired Hakuren because she had the determination to attain her dreams despite the odds. Akazukin just wished she could do something for her, but despite her powers to heal people by reversing time, she could do nothing for Hakuren since she was born with these defects.

The halls were starting to all look the same to her and she walks up to a room. Looking at the room number she ponders to herself, “Could this be the right room?” In all honesty she did not have a clue, but just randomly roaming the halls hoping to remember was not getting her anywhere, so she opens the door. “Hakuren are you in here?”

Shin was making rounds the Omni Prime Medical Facility this particular day. With a white lab coat and a basic medical tools resting in the pockets the young Yamanaka was looking like an official doctor despite only being only 14 years of age. The clicking of his steps echoed through the halls as he walked with a purpose. From door to door the young boy would grab the folders which rested just outside of the entrance of each room to give a quick read before entering. His job was to check the situation of the patients in this wing before the next shift would begin to help maximize the preventative care so that the conditions would no worsen. A scroll floated over his shoulder made of stark white paper and a deep onyx quill floated neatly beside it. Occasionally taking notes the floating quill would keep a log of the status of each patient so that it could be used for the next shift. The occasional addition of pain medications into the intravenous drips helped the lightening of pain experienced by some of the patients. Shin would take note of which medicine was used, the strength, and the dosing so that there wouldn't be an accidental overdose in case the patient requested more at a later point in the evening.

Grabbing the file on this door Shin would skim through the file briefly to get a brief understanding of what was happening to and for the patient. Fuzukaze Senshi was the patient's name and with a sigh Shin would make his way into the room. Completely unaware that another had just entered it. Walking past the visitor Shin would make his way to the foot of the bed before speaking. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything, my name is Shin of the Chikamatsu Clan and I am the Med-Nin currently assigned to this wing of the Omni Prime."<i></i> Shin took a sigh before placing a single hand on his hip and flipping his other hand in the air in a rather effeminate way. "So it looks like you overdid yourself and that it's taking a tad bit longer to recover than expected. Are you feeling any major discomfort or pains at the moment?"<i></i> As the boy asked his question the quill would perk up like a personal assistant getting eager to take notes on the conversation.

Senshi was about to begin a new chapter when, abruptly, the door opened and a foreign voice called in. Who was Hakuren?

More importantly, who was she? The girl, that is, who'd just walked into his room. Senshi didn't recognize her, but then again she didn't seem to recognize where she was, either. Nervous, he folded up his book and held onto it. She looked about his age, maybe older — but, more striking than that, was her left eye. A clock? Senshi thought that was cool, but decided not to say anything.

"Oh! — I'm sorry, but I don't know any one named Hakuren." He didn't know what to do. He'd wished for something exciting, but now that it was here he had frozen up, tragically paralyzed. "Um, uh, is...is there anything I can do to help?" Senshi was trying. His compassion, at least, would hopefully count for something.

Just then a young doctor walked in, two years his younger. It amazed Senshi, and filled him with a twinge of envy, to see such talent. He was glad to have him as his caretaker for the day. Smiling, Senshi replied cheerfully, "Oh, not at all. Thank you, Shin, for your time and care today."

Straight to business, it seemed. Shin gave a brief prognosis, then asked how he was doing. "Just a bit sore from all the movement," he began, noticing the quill springing to life, "and a little drained. I...I think I'm getting stronger, though." His outlook was cheerful, but the data suggested a different story. The boy's muscles were weak and his immune system did nothing to protect him from foreign contamination. Still, the boy insisted he was feeling better.

"Just this morning I made it down the hall, around the corner, and back. Soon, I'll be at the front desk!"

Dreaming of Better Days or Nightmares of the Past

Drats, it seems luck was not on her side today for this was not the room after all, but instead one to a young boy. “Oh sorry wrong room. I swear this place is like a labyrinth.” More than likely no one else thought the hospital as such, but she so rarely comes here. This place was unfamiliar to her and trying to find her friend in the mist of this maze was frustrating. “No I don’t think there is…” Suddenly the door opens and another enters. It was a med-nin and for some reason or another Akazukin feel a darkness disturbed within herself.

From out of the corner of her eye she sees an unusual figure. It was a girl looking as young as herself with long blood red hair and a fox mask. Her eyes seems to glow with an aura that was all too familiar. Then, then she hears the words, ‘It is unusual to see one of your kind so young in this place. Are you lost? I could show you the way out.’ The voice and the words was that of the fox that devoured her soul all so long ago. In a panic she throws a punch and ends up smashing a mirror. It seems as though what see just saw was never there to begin with.

Akazukin felt embarrassed with her outburst. The fox was dead the priest kill it to save her. There was no way it could have been here and yet she was sure she felt its presence. Blood begins to flow out of the hand with broke the mirror. The drips of crimson suddenly stop in midair as if by magic and then it flies back into her hand. All blood spilt was returns from which it came and her hand returns to normal as if nothing has ever happen. Akazukin was not even doing this on a conscious level. Her mind was elsewhere as her body seems to fix itself.

She was panting heavily as she was still a little shaken up from the event. After calming down she places a hand just below her clock eye, “Curse this eye and its ability to see through time. Making me see events best left forgotten.” She was scared of the fox and hated it for the trauma it caused her. However there was more, she was also grateful to the fox for without it she would never have this special power of hers, but that is something she will never admit to not even to herself. Those were feelings she keep deeply buried.

Shin nodded at the patient as he spoke of soreness of the body, which wasn't a surprise for the Mednin. "Well I'm glad to hear that you are striving to improve your healing. Physically therapy is a vital role in cases like your own, which I am sure you are well aware of. There a few things I ne-" The boy's voice would be cut off as the visitor in the room seemed to have a thing against the mirror. Turning his attention to the bleeding girl Shin's eyebrow was raised as he addressed her. "Are you okay?"

He would step closer to her but would stop as the blood would return to the wound. She was a Kunoichi with some surprisingly useful skill. He let out a sigh as she announced that her eye allowed her to see through time and see whats not actually there. Raising a hand the boy rubbed his temple lightly. "I guess that could be a complication for normal day to day life." Turning back to look at the patient the Yamanaka planted his hand on his hip and gestured with an open palm with the other. "So, have you received your medications yet today?"
