Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

There was nowhere to go. No one to see. Nothing to do. As far as he was concerned his life had ended years ago. Thirty years ago to be exact. He wasn’t even sure what he was still doing alive other than to watch another day go by. His nightmares of that accident continued to afflict him. His only resolution continued to be to drink it away. Each night the endless cycle would continue. Eventually it earned him the name of the village drunk. Nobody ever cared to stop and ask him why he was the way he was, nor did they try to take him in and get him any help. They just avoided him for the most part, knowing that if you came close enough or sat near him long enough to recognize that you were there that you would get enthralled in his stories of old, back when he was “normal.”

On this particular evening, he was somewhere in the red light district, on a bar stool that looked and felt like every other bar stool he ever sat on. In this place, he was sitting inconspicuously drinking his bitter tasting red wine. His cheeks weren’t flushed yet as the night had just begun for him. Although he knew where he was going with it and where he wanted to go with it. His aim every night when he sat on the bar stool was to end up somewhere else blacked out incapable of remembering the night before.

This particular bartender was new to the bar and didn’t recognize this guy as the “village drunk,” so he was serving him regularly. Outside the bar, it was just turning dusk. The warm orange sunlight reflected off the rooftops of the bars and would eventually give way to the neon lights and dull white light from the street lights. The chatter of merchants and the laughter of children that lived in the residential area that sat along the beginning of the strip before it transformed into bars, brothels, clubs, and blatant gambling houses was swapped out with the whistles and calls of locals and out of towners who were visiting Suna’s sultriest district for a little fun.

Chiyoko felt uncomfortable. This place was grimy and gloomy. Despite the theme of it being an adult entertainment area, it felt like the hive of evil, each door leading to a sin, to drain the soul of its humanity. Chiyoko was clearly too young for this place.

The ten year old accepted an easy mission, just bring the village drunk to the hospital. The mission file did not say much other than that anyway. All she had was a picture to go by and some text about the target. Clearly not a happy man.

As Chiyoko crossed over cigarette butts and spit, she is stoppes by a single man with a sleazy smile. Glaring, she hears him speak about some bed time, before kickimg him hard in the groin and running away with the cloaked hugged around her body. Chiyoko needs to check the Red Scorpion.

Chiyoko wondered how this man became the village drunk. Addiction to alcohol perhaps, or a depression so hard he drinks to wash his feelings. Whatever the reason it was unhealthy, and he needed aid. Chiyoko sighed, thinking about what if her parents were actually drunkards who abandoned her so they could buy more booze. A shiver went up her spine, she hopes it was not the case.

There he was, drinking his heart away. The girl silently stared, no one paid her any heed. They probably knew her purpose here. Chiyoko wonders his story, the past there was never written down. To ease his soul or not, the man bottled his story, and down the bottle to suppress it further. The girl was worried. It could be something so easy to help.

Gin continued to sit there at the bar, allowing his lips to chap as his breathing started to slow. He continued to get more and more relaxed as the time elapsed. He hadn’t even remembered the name of the bar he sat in every night. The Red Scorpion. The large scorpion on the top of the rooftop, emblazoned in red with a much more emphasized tail that swung all the way from end back to its head, ending in a menacing looking sting pretty much captured the entire essence of this place. It wasn’t really pretty and it darn sure wasn’t nice.

Gin still seemed to get by though, mostly because the symbolism in which the bar held for him. He was a scorpio after all, born in the year of the Dog, which made his primal zodiac an octopus. As such he internalized all of his negative feelings rather than let them go outwardly. As far as he remembered, whenever he did speak them to someone, they were quickly forgotten, like an un-catchy tune that only lasted a week on the radio. His heart hurt and nobody could seem to help mend it or his psyche.

He took another sip.

Each one seemed to take him further away from the screams of the ANBU that played over and over in his head. The visions of blood stained pavement, walls, and unattached limbs that were sliced and torn from the unprepared in the wake of the Diamond Maelstrom.

For a moment he felt like there was someone there. Someone worth noting, and as he liked over his shoulder, he didn’t see anything out of the usual. Just people. Some faces he remembered and others he didn’t.
