Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Nobu allowed himself to wander the streets he sighed for a few minutes as he knew full well that today he was empty on the schedule and that wasn't something that sat well with him, he had been given the opportunity to at least try and use this time to learn something, that woman that he had met inside of the forest with the snake, that would be his goal. He would use this time to get himself stronger, and right now he would do that using the woman to assist in what he needed to know. Looking towards the kid sleeping he kicked him slightly to wake him up.

"If you fancy learning and actually getting stronger follow me then, I have a plan, and this way we can both get knowledge from it as well as getting the skills that we will need later in life"

With that he grabbed his jacket and walked off, making sure the kid followed him as he headed towards the posh district of Leaf. Looking for directions that he needed to head in he made his way towards the Uchiha Clan house apparently this was where she lived, looking around he noticed the posh side of life, and just how much money must have been wasted on this lavish lifestyle. Quelling the annoyance that was inside of him as he looked to the two men that guarded the gates and figured the words he would have to speak.

"I am here to see Haku Yuki, she said if I ever needed anything then drop by and she would help, so right now I ask her to train me and my friend here. We both have time off from the academy and right now I want to learn everything to get stronger."

Waiting patiently for a reply he wondered if they would even manage to get past the gates, as he glanced back to the kid he winked slightly and let a smirk come across his lips as he knew that they both understood each other.

These days and nights, cold and broken but now he had a wakizashi to rain with and he had figured out some things with it. Though, he'd stayed up training into the late hours of the morning but it wasn't something that he would often do in the past just something that he'd figured he want to do especially with the flyer that he'd found in the street... something that he wanted to do or look into. He'd ask Nobu when he woke up the next day but with that, he would not have the time of the want to wake the boy in the midst of his sleep... so Za would fall asleep awaiting the morning so he could talk to Nobu...

Some hours later, Nobu would nudge Za awake with a boot to the side, "HUH WHAT!?", looking over to Nobu, Za would listen and roll his shoulders before getting up to his feet and moving his hair out of his face. He would only give a nod before putting on his cleaner clothes and rolling his used clothes up and packing them behind the boxing tent he'd been using to sleep in.

"...Sure Nobu, I'm coming.", nodding once more he'd push his hands into his pockets but, not before strapping the blade to his backside parallel with his belt on his trousers. Moving around, he found that they were making their way to the clan housing district. However, he'd never been through here, and something rang in his head about what the Headmaster had said in the class a few days prior. He'd bow before the guards before Nobu would speak out for him, and Za would only give a smirk and a thumbs up.

"Right." With that he would wait. This would be interesting, to say the least, but Za was still wary of the circumstances. He still trusted Nobu a little to lead the way, and if the boy said he had a plan he would definitely have a plan...

Yuki was relaxing in the garden on the grounds of the Uchiha Mansion, it was a nice day, cold and clear, snow was falling gently from the pale white sky. laying softly on the ground. It had been a long time since she had five minutes to herself and she was planning to make the most of it, she sat watching the snowflakes fall and melt on the small pond, the clicking of the bamboo fountain echoed on the air, the sound calming the female as she watched the koa swim around in the waters below unaware of the chaos that was just about to erupt at the gates of her home.

Tano was a tall man, imposing in stature and kind in nature, Kito, on the other hand, was gnarled, old, and bad-tempered, and a terrible conversationalist, the men had been standing guard in silence since their last disagreement and Tano had made a silent pact with himself to never swap his shift again, several hours had passed since then and things had been relatively uninteresting.

"I am here to see Haku Yuki, she said if I ever needed anything then drop by and she would help, so right now I ask her to train me and my friend here. We both have time off from the academy and right now I want to learn everything to get stronger." Tano was surprised that someone was talking until he looked down seeing a skinny, scruffy oranged head boy and his companion that stood in front of him.

"Go away kid," Kito barked at them.

"Hey, Kito, be nice, I am sure that if the Mistress hadn't have invited them they would just walk right up to the front door would they?" Kito mumbled something under his breath before folding his arms like a scolded child. "Go right in guys"

Stretching the Haku walked through the foyer of her home, the main door was opened as the staff was busy moving the newly delivered items through to the storeroom, she glanced out into the courtyard seeing a familiar face. Is that Snake Boy? She squinted a little towards Nobu and the other boy she hadn't met before, she turned on her heels walking towards the two boys.

"Snake Boy, you're not dead, I am glad you pulled through," She smiled and then stopped. "How did you know where I lived?" she didn't wait for a reply "Forget it, you here now whatever you want you will have to walk and talk," She gestured them to follow her as she returned to the main hall, "You want tea or food," she lowered her voice "Or a bath?"

Walking with Zatoru, it seemed that the other kid followed him which was something that he was looking to participate in, he knew full well that this would not be an easy task, and asking the woman was like trying to bite the hand that fed you. But he needed to learn and he wouldn't allow himself to get held back, even if he had to drag Zatoru with him from the cutter all the way up to the very top. He would have his answers and his lesson. It seemed that he was told to instantly getaway, it seemed that the second one was more easily confused as the two of them were to let right into the house. Stepping in for a few minutes he looked around trying to take in all of the features around them. He could hardly believe that someone could live in a place like this. Though the voice speaking to him instantly caught his attention.

"Well yeah, the posion went away after a while, the pain lived up to every expectation of it that you can imagine. As for how I found you and where you lived, the easy explanation to that question would be that Snakes Talk between each other, apparently they don't really care for keeping secrets at all."

He followed her as she tried to walk and walk with them, he was almost sprinting trying to keep up with the long elegant strides that she seemed to take. Versus his more messily and hasty steps, but that was always the difference between an adult and a kid. As he looked at her as she offered him the tea or food, it seemed that he completely missed the last part of the conversation about a bath as he glanced back to make sure Zatoru was still following.

"Well you see, I am sure we would both love food right now, but the main reason that we came here is actually we want help learning, more like you teaching us if possible. We still have a lot to learn about being a Shinobi so learning anything right now would be helpful."

As he kept up with her following the turns and twists that she made, he had to make sure that he was focused on learning right now. He wanted to learn more and become stronger it was a simple goal from a simple kid, but the meaning of the education and the reason behind it was something that could be twisted and turned.

"So the question is what can we learn, just anything then we are gone and out of the way, we just want the chance to hear some first-hand experience from someone who has been on the front lines."

The Guards, seemed 'nice' enough. Za felt that he would be soon learning a lot more about Nobu than he would be able the woman they were looking for. Nobu had been a busy lad, and that was apparent. Za wondered if he himself had been slacking off any with this. His training. His worthiness. Maybe this was the day that he would turn the tide, learning with Nobu to press forward and know what was coming next, to better help the whole of what they spent those cold, wet nights. Something was stirring within Za, so much that he went out and tried to collect money so they could have food at night... Maybe they could save enough to fund an apartment, however, the class that they had something stuck with him.

The Headmaster. His query into what they had. And a way to get out of it. "Heh." tucking his hands back in his pockets after they made it through the gate. This was not the place where he wanted to steal anything especially with someone helping them out. Though he felt something that he hadn't before. Pressure. The pressure of this woman, she had a great measure of power within her. So much so that Za felt subtly oppressed by it.

"Hello Miss, I'm Za." he'd speak after she called Nobu a 'snake boy' which caused Za to be worried. Snakes were symbols of betrayal in a way. Such was something he had read in books within the library. Though her notion of a bath both made Zatoru happy... but sad. He wanted a stable life. Something that he could hang his hat on, or... He'd take a better life.

Better with friends like Nobu and Shion. "I'd like a bath after this training... food after that?", Za wasn't about to miss out on a chance to get a good bath in and some upper-class food? Oh yeah, buddy! Za would follow them through the estate. Twists and turns about. He was naturally slower than Nobu but she was definitely a shinobi... her movements were sleek. Not a wasted moment or movement. Nothing clumsy about it...

"Aye. Anything can help."

Yuki rolled her eyes as she listened to Nubo's request, it was true that she had nothing better to do but still she was enjoying doing nothing, at the same time he did make the effort to come all this way she was get least going to entertain his request.

"Fine, I will teach you both something useful and give you both a meal and you can make use of the hot spring. but after that, you are out, I am not in the market for any more stray children." she continued to walk through the house maintaining a brisk pace The female looked over her shoulder and watched the youths follow behind her Nobu was practically stumbling over his feet so she slowed down her pace a little. She examined the other boy that Nobu had brought to tag along, he had the same expression on his face a Nobu and she was pretty sure he had the same chip on his shoulder as well, escorting them through the house she reached the outer area of the mansion grounds to a small garden that was overlooked by a cherry tree which despite that cold was still in bloom, she walked them past it and towards a small building in the center to grounds.

The Dojo wasn't impressive to look at, it was walled by paper screens with various weapon stands dotted about the parameter, the floor as a lattice of fawn tatami matt. Yuki gestured them inside and lent on one of the four pillars that stood in each corner of the room and ponder what it was she would teach them.

"I think that I am going to teach you about something that you aren't going to learn in the Academy but will be incredibly useful later if you know how to harness the power properly." She let her face form a wolfish smile "Have you heard about Kinjutsu?"

As he followed the twists and turns that they were taking, it was becoming more clear just how big this place was. Though the offer of food and a hot spring was welcomed naturally by Nobu as he imagined it was with Za as well. The two of them needed to take the opportunities that they could as soon as they came up after all. As they reached the outer area of the mansion it seemed almost just as awe-inspiring as the inside of the house. So clean and clear, not a single out of place, though it seemed strange that for this time of year the cherry tree was still in full blossom. That intrigued him.

As he looked around trying to spot anything else he could though it seemed that they were there to be aimed towards the Dojo and nothing else. Walking with Yuki he smirked back towards Za as he walked inside of the building and looking around studying the building his attention snapped quickly back to the Haku as she said those words Kinjutsu.

"From what we have learned so far in the Academy really I am not sure what use we will be when it comes down to crunch time, I can tell you a Shinobi code and that is around about the sum of it all. Most of the other things I have had to learn and scramble to learn from books or overhearing conversations."

He pondered the words of the Lady as he pondered on the best way to reply to her, of course, he had learned a small thing from his encounter with the Medical Sennin. He only heard a few of the words for a few moments, that summed up anything and everything he knew but now seemed the time to pry out new knowledge, and with someone willing to give that information across he was going to take full advantage of that.

"I was speaking with someone called Nao. They mentioned something about Archsage and Dark Sage, I really didn't understand any of it honestly something about a Dark Sage controlling life and death?"

He played the pure venom dripping stupid and innocent card as he stood there with a look like someone had just told him that the world was the size of this village, he just stood waiting to see what reply would come now and what he could take from this little free lesson.

Remembering that things weren't ever for free in these kinds of circumstances, Za found himself troubled for a moment. Wondering what would become of them if they did not give the snake woman what she might've wanted at that time. Though, maybe that had been handled? Maybe this was different compared to the things he'd dealt with in the past. However, the offer of food, a bath in the hot springs, and a lesson? Maybe this was too good to be true, alas, Za would hold his tongue until proven right, no need to be a spoilsport on this sort of thing. That kind of restraint was unbecoming of the young kid.

"Yeah they didn't say much to us in the academy outside of what Nobu just said. Hell, I found this in one of the main parts of the village. But this is something sanctioned for the Students of the village... But it's like we're not trying to prepare for it." frowning at the notion, it was interesting. The situation would seem to hinder his train of thought on what else was needed but Nobu spoke up about what he knew about Kinjutsu. Arch and Dark Sages. Weirdly enough, there was a section of the library that was blocked off without the proper clearances.

"This is my first time hearing about kinjutsu, what is it exactly? Something we're not supposed to know? Something that we're supposed to learn on our own through the trials and tribulations of shinobi life! Huh?", getting a bit miffed that knowledge was being held away from him potentially, Za knew that this was something important... because anything dealing with forbidden anything was something that he could use to increase his station in life. To improve his life, and of those around him.

"...how many types are there?"

Yuki let her grin grow as she heard the boy limited knowledge of the more forbidden Shinobi arts, it was true there were some that were more wildly accepted as Archsage but then there were the darker ones.
"Yes Nobu, Dark Sage's are masters of death as well as controlling the dead, you are not taught about them in the academy as sone of them are well," She thought about her next choice carefully "Questionable" She stood up straight and walked towards the two youths "To answer your question Za there are fourteen in total although personally, I have only experienced a fraction of them." She took a seat on the rough tatami "You are not told about them so you not tempted by the power that they offer, I personally have been able to master two of them, I have been a follower of a dark god that gave me the power to cheat death and I am currently the bearer of a demon, both of these things are frown upon of course, however, I believe, rather unpopularly, that we should have access to all techniques and arts that are at your disposal"
She stretched out a little getting into a more comfortable seating position. "There is a Kinjutsu for nearly everything that you want, you want to control the dead you have Dark Sage, you want to throw away your mortal body you can become a Human Puppet, there is even a technique that allows you to replace all of your internal organs and live forever by stealing that hearts of others," She paused wondering if she had told the two of them too much, then again the would need to know about these sooner or later and better to know now before they face one and get themselves killed.
"Then there are the ones that are considered less taboo, like Hichimon that lets you fight far beyond a person's normal limits and Archsage that allows you to channel natural energy to become stronger," She looked over at both of them, her face more serious than before. "What is it that you two want?"

It was so much informed to take in at one go, Nobu couldn't control the excitement that he had gathered from what had been given to him. He wanted to know so much more and understand all of it but knew that there were somethings that called to him in that split second. As he listened about the others and all the different abilities it became clear that under the surface of the Academy that they where being taught most of the higher Shinobi in the world had already taken these options and travelled down the dark path that they presented. After all, the knowledge gained about them could only exist if someone else had already managed to obtain that powerfully.

"It seems that the lives that people lead have a dark route to it, Shinobi sacrifice something to obtain power, that much is clear. And with that power comes the trouble that comes with it of other people wanting the same power, a constant struggle to climb to the top of the hill that everyone was in. It must be rough to get to the top only to have someone knock you down to the bottom, was this why Lord Forth retired his position to someone so unworthy?"

He paused forgetting himself but also knowing that times were changing inside of the villages. As he listened to the final question that was asked it almost made a wicked smile across his lips as he knew full well that he had to work for this goal in the future and achieve this task would mean sacrificing something he had already come to fully understand and expect that. The question was simply put what was he willing to sacrifice to that cause. As he listened to the final question that Yuki asked them he paused slightly not wanting to reveal his intentions to what he wanted to use that power to achieve instead he pointed the simple facts out.

" I want to achieve the power of a Dark Sage, to corrupt my Chakra and bend it to my will with ease and to shift things in my favour to get what I want. I need to understand what that means, how to become one. Do you know Sensei?"

Nobu knew that Yuki wasn't like the others. While yes she still had a silver spoon up here she seemed to actually know how the real world worked. She seemed to have the knowledge to help people and assist them when they need it, that was something he would have to remember for the future.

'This was a good idea... I'll have to thank Nobu after this.' Za would think as Yuki would go on to begin talking to them about Kinjutsu, maybe this was something that was fated to happen. Something that he could not shake even if he were to try. However, Za wanted this knowledge. The knowledge that he wasn't going to get in the academy. So combining that knowledge of the known from the academy and the forbidden knowledge of the Snake woman, setting himself on the hardened Tatami mat.

"Fourteen... Hm, and you've mastered two? Jeez, that's why I can feel your chakra pressure." Smirking again he would continue listening to her. She was chomping at him with information. Feeding into his inner spirit begins to surge with the want for more and more information. Though there was something she began to describe that she wanted...

'Live forever stealing the hearts of others?' Looking to Nobu his eyes lit up. He spoke about dark sage, having a bridge between the living and dead that seemed to be something that Nobu would be good at. He seemed to be headstrong on it. However, to take the hearts of his Father and siblings that didn't help him when he could have lost his life... He would take each of their hearts and devour them whole.

"...Whats the one with the hearts all about...?"

Yuki watched the two them both surprised and pleased at their interest in the subject, she could tell that the two of them both wanted a great deal of power, that much was clear, and she wasn’t a hypocrite so why shouldn’t share this information with them
“Myself and Takeshi have sacrificed more than you know Nobu, but his reasons for his resignations are his own, I couldn’t speak for him in that regard, and I would learn to watch your tongue, that someone so undeserving is your Hokage, while you can speak freely inside these walls. Those words outside here could get you in into a lot of trouble, just be mindful of that”

Turning to Za she grinned, she reached down into Mizuke’s power not enough to overexert her but enough for them to feel his aura and have a small taste of what power a Kinjutsu could offer. “That is all I know on that one i’m afraid, I believe that they go under a surgical technique called Earth Grudge Fear or something like that, I think Kinjutsu is called Revenant, when it comes to surgical techniques though I am not the person to ask, i guess you could try poking around the hospital though seeing what you could pick up from there Za,” She yawned starching her arms into the air, “But if you two do chose the paths that you seem so interested in you didn’t get any of this information from me ok, I have seen the holding cells in the ANBU Complex and I would not like to be the other sides of those bars,” She laughed a little, when a thought came to her mind. “You and your friend aren’t responsible for the sudden rise of thefts in Oak District are you?”

The conversation was taking such a different turn of events that he had expected. But this information was everything that he needed to learn and point him in the right direction that he needed. A he looked at Za it seemed the boy was willing to do what needed to be done for the future, he had to accept that and store that knowledge that could be useful. Listening about speaking only to those that needed, or would be acceptable to hear it at least. He nodded between the two of them for a few seconds understand to speak only when it was required and not speak publicly about it.

He rubbed his chin for a few seconds, taking this opportunity that he saw, while he had at least the information and another step towards the direction of this Dark Sage point. He knew full well now in what direction to take to get answers for the future and making sure changing the future up. He made a note to make sure that everything he did would have to be hidden away for the future as well as making sure that he did it out of sight of those people that it could affect.

He snapped out of the thought processes on how to get the result he wanted from this little lesson, but he was a huge step forward in terms of the Kinjutsu, he had a name and more importantly, he had the information where to get it from. An understanding was one of the key steps to go forward. Listening to the line of questioning Nobu knew that they had finished learning anything that they could right now and it would be best to move forward without letting that thought linger too much.

"Us? No that isn't us, we are looking for a house though to start to position ourselves in to keep ourselves off of the street that is all we are trying to do."

...It may not have been much but now Za had a path to follow. With Nobu marking that path that they both seemed to walk, Za would always render himself to be the aid of Nobu. It would be an honor to do the things that kept this train going... but they would not be able to do it alone. So as such Za would prepare within himself, knowing that this would be the definitive start to something... riveting. Looking to Nobu as the boy would look back to him Za would only be able to smirk.

'Lets see where this goes shall we?' nodding his head and looking back to Yuki he'd sigh. "Earth... Grudge Fear... Revenant." he'd speak to himself under his own breath but now as she spoke of the ANBU Complex he would perk up alittle. Maybe he would find himself doing things that he would be caught for... and especially with those things happening in the Oak District. Yes, it was time to do something about it... but he would not admit to any wrong doing. Thats how you got caught up, and he'd seen kids on the street get battered for worse...

"I dont know nuffin' about Oak District, we just wanna pave a way for ourselves. No one's looking out for kids on the street.", nodding he would leave it at that for now. No use getting caught up in something that he never meant to be in the first place, but maybe Nobu was onto something with the appeal he was making to Yuki now. The Madame was, in her own right, willing to help them this much... how much else could they get from her? Who knew... but at the very least they would have a warm place to sleep at night if things worked themselves out in their favors...

And you know what they said... Fortune favored... the brave.

Yuki nodded and looked at the pair of them, she wasn't convinced by their reactions but she wasn't about to argue with them, they were street kids and after all, they got to eat sometime.

"You know I am pretty sure the Hyuuga mansion is free, are at least to the owner is out of town and won't be coming back anytime soon, the gate is more then likely sealed but there is a hole in the wall that you can sneak through," She stretched out once again resting on her elbow laying on the mat, "I mean if you are looking for somewhere to stay that is, the place is pretty much the same size as this place so there should be plenty of space for you and your vagrant friends just don't make sure that you are seen," She looked at the both of them. "Oh yes I promised you food, just go find a maid they will point in the direction of the kitchen and baths" She closed her eyes feeling herself getting sleepy. "If you don't mind I am taking a nap," She waved them away as she yawned again.
