Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Katsu sliced up the tree in front of him with his swordplay, never repeating a combo like some sort of complex combat equation. Katsu often snuck out of the village to fight in the mountains nearby, a strange little plateau which had air which seemed purer, in some sense. He always felt he could go for hours longer compared to other training sessions.

However, as the Sun was setting on the mountain and Katsu had realized he’d lost track of time and would have to camp out, he noticed a pair- no, multiple pairs of eyes in the shadow of the forest, now visible within the twilight. Human eyes don’t glow like that… beasts, then? Katsu pretended not to notice for now, picking his blade back up as if to continue practice, but without any more movement he charged his blade with earth chakra, strengthening it and providing it with more weight and destructive impact. Charging at his target tree, he performed a jump-spin and struck the sword horizontally downward, the earth chakra pulverizing the wood and allowing him to cut right through it, albeit roughly.

With the tree cut through, Katsu acted fast. It began to slide off the trunk, which he jumped up on and began to ran up the tree as it began to tip and fall. Before it crashed into the ground, Katsu launched himself from the top onto another tree, using his sheath to catch a branch. Jumping from there to the next branch, Katsu began his escape into the center of the forest.

Normally, of course, one would attempt to run from the forest, hoping to get away or at least find an open area. Thing is, given that he was on a mountain, even if he reached the edge of the forest, he’d have to bet the beasts wouldn’t be more agile on the side of the mountain, or that he’d at least be less crippled than the beasts to be able to run while avoiding the fall. Instead, it would be better at the moment to run into the forest and look for a chance to lose them, or at least get the jump on them.

Katsu was no great sensor type, so he couldn’t know how many were chasing, but by narrowing the optimal paths to chase him with, he could focus his limited tracking skills to a small area behind him, able to make out two pursuing beasts. How were they following him? Unfortunately, it was going to be impossible to be sure, since they were gaining on him quickly. If not, he could’ve done a few experiments to determine it and hopefully slip by them eventually. These… were no ordinary beasts. He wasn’t the fastest in the village or anything, but these guys were way too quickly, he had no idea how they were accelerating at that speed.

Welp, this was it. Putting his left foot in front of his right, Katsu tripped and fell out of the tree, his sheath flying away. The beasts, Katsu worked out, would take a moment to examine the situation and surround him. If they weren’t so cautious, they’d have jumped him immediately in the clearing he was training in. In this instant of caution, he would confirm their positions and numbers and then ambush them, turning the tables with a decisive blow.

With their approach, they did as Katsu would suspect, slowing for just a moment as they split to each side, surrounding him once more. Katsu’s sword was stabbed into the soil, hidden from view by his body. Channelling earth chakra through it once more, the ground around them turned soft and wet and loose, their feet sinking in as it became mud. Pushing up from this new floor, Katsu drew forth his blade from the earth and performed a full circle slash, an attempt to slice both his adversaries in a single attack. He was fairly certain he wouldn’t hit anything too lethal since he was kind of swinging blind in this darkness, and he was maximizing speed and surprise over power so there was no weight behind his attack.
