Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Hakuren was an interesting boy with two mothers. Hakuren sometimes refer to the one as father considering the fact that he was physically male. Every family had some strange quirks; his maybe stranger than others. The last name Hakuren holds is one that his father held before joining the clan. There are some that have some negative feeling towards the clan and children do tend to mirror the parents; sometimes in violent ways. They thought giving him and his twin sister the family name Nanachi would be best. It was Hakuren’s father that scheduled a meeting between Akkuma and Hakuren.

Hakuren was named after his mother’s best friend Taisen Hakuren. He was a little different from your usual student. He was your classic bookworm and always has a book with him. Tucked under his arm was a black book with words of silver. Leabhar na Geasa was written on the cover, which translated to Book of Spells. It was his mother’s book. In the book were lists of small incantations written in a runic language; three words or less. His mother writes these spells in a certain way on paper talismans and use them as trap. In essence the book was all about Fūinjutsu (Sealing Techniques) and Hakuren wants to now more. Akazukin, his mother, informs him that Akkuma know of some techniques she does not such as summoning. Hakuren is also aware that Akkuma knows techniques that places the seal directly on a person and gives them powers.

Hakuren enters into the Torano dojo an hour before the scheduled time. When it came to the academy Hakuren was the first to enter the classroom for a class. Hakuren likes to be early unlike his sister that often comes in late. His sister expressed interest in seeing Akkuma as well but she did not come along with him. Perhaps she will come by later.

Upon entrance Hakuren would find himself greeted by a robed member of Akkuma's guard. "Hakuren. Lord Akkuma is in one of the smaller dojo rooms. Please follow me & I'll lead you to him." with that being said the man would escort Hakuren deeper into the clans portion of the dojo. It would be a few minutes of silence from the individual. For he had simply been shown a photo & told to escort the youth named Hakuren to his Lord. Such a simple act displeased the guard. But it was commanded by his Lord & he would obey every order his Lord commanded for that was the price all those who delved into the deepest folds of the demons life paid. Eventually when the demon called one would have no choice in answering. Well as the demon said '...one always has another choice. But few have the conviction to choose death.' it was a statement that had stayed with the guard.

For they all bore his demonic Fūinjutsu created by the Sage himself. One that bound an individual to their compact. For either party to breach the contract resulted in severe consequences. After all there was always a price when bargaining with a demon. When they finally arrived at the room the guard would open it. Inside they would find Akkuma he was standing beside a coffin. Sliding the lid closed as Hakuren stepped into the room. He'd glance over & give the guard a nod who closed the door behind him with a shudder. His Lord had become even more...well he couldn't explain it. There was something that'd been off about the man ever since he'd returned that day.

Akkuma would turn to look upon the child before returning to finishing off the last of his entries into his tome. "How the time seems to pass so quickly nowadays." he'd say offhandedly before closing the book. Turning to face the child he would begin to speak once more. "Your parents have informed me that you desire to undergo some private Instruction from me. You do understand that what your parents ask comes with a cost. Considering they chose not to give you the clan name." he would say in a matter of fact tone. After all it was known that once apart of the clan one surrendered their former names. Choosing not to had caused quite the stir among the clan & many wondered what the Demon would do in regards to the matter.

"I shall offer you two manners in which you may pay me. The first is by forsaking the family name given to you by your parents & accepting ours. If that is something you do not wish to do then I must insist on your being indebted to me. At some point in your future I will ask of you a single undeniable request." Those emerald eyes would gaze out at the young shinobi prospective. It seemed Akkuma was not intent on loosing the bloodline from his households name so quickly. His parents were knew to the clan it was why he had been patient. But the demon was not known for his charity.

Hakuren would have to wonder what would be Akkuma’s reaction to his age. The reason for this wonder has to do with the nature of Akazukin’s abilities. Akazukin's soul was quite influenced by a kitsune's demonic energies so much that it physically changed her in some was. This was the source of her temperal strider abilities, but it also had some other effects on her that she was not aware of. When Hakuren and his twin sister were born, it really took the mid-wife by surprise. She did not not give birth to the human form he sees now,but a pair of fox cubs. Foxes age much quicker than humans. The twins would have the bodies of a six year old in one year. It took some time but Akazukin was able to find a spell and place it seal on them to make them human.

Upon entering the dojo a robed figure guides him to a place where he would meet the legendary Akkuma. He was led to a small room which Akkuma stood. What really caught his attention was the coffin he was standing next to. Hakuren could only imagine why it was there and nothing he imagine was a good thing. Despite how hot the climate might be in this desert lands, a chill runs down his spine. Hakuren laughs at Akkuma’s comment of time flying figuring in was a joke about only two years have past since he was born and yet he was ten. “While it may be true that I was given my father’s last name due to negative feeling towards the clan, Mother is also a traditionalist.” The Inugami clan from which Akazukin hails from, has many traditions that some people may find odd.

“Tradition dictates that I am to be given my father’s former family name until I reach the age of choice. At the age of ten a child must choose whether to accept the clan’s name or not. I am physically at the age of choice and thus I come to you now.” Kneeling in front of Akkuma, who would basically serve as the elder, would make his proclamation. “As is my right of birth, I humbly take the clan name of Miroku”

[ooc: I doubt you or anyone by that matter aged ten years since meeting Akazukin, so I thought of something. This little explanation might also help if I ever decide to undo my reboot while maintaining the character.]

[Edit: Thought of a better quick aging reason.]

Akkuma nodded at the child's words for he knew what the child's parents were like. The Demon was well acquainted with the members of his clan. But as of recent he had been distant, almost as if he was barely apart of this realm anymore. Truthfully much had changed about the being, his looks & even many traits he exhibited. Although this was not uncommon there were whispers that their demonic Lord had changed many forms throughout his time as head of the clan. Each time losing & gaining new gifts. Who knew what talents the demon possessed now. Those unearthly vividly green eyes lingered upon the youth as he knelt before Akkuma & declared he would take the Miroku name. Upon those words the demons lips would form a thin smile. Taking a step towards the child he would chuckle. "You choose to willingly walk the cursed path? Burdened by duty to the clan? Bound by my will & the will of the Council? Sworn to Archive all shinobi knowledge & preserve the shinobi way of life against all threats?" he would ask the child before him these questions before he gave the boy the mark of their people & would put him on the first steps to becoming a full fledged Miroku member.

"Our people have many foes & allies. There may be times when you will be asked to sacrifice. The clans objectives will sometimes conflict with those that your heart desires. We do not have the pleasure of being able to ignore the hard choices. I created this clan for three single purposes. The first to catalog & archive all shinobi knowledge. The second to protect the shinobi way of life from all threats. The last yet most important...to create a clan that spans all countries, organizations & statuses. You must be aware of this before swearing to take our name." he would say calmly to the child. For even his own children had begun to forget their duties & were overdue for a reminder. He would not let this new generation become the downfall of his clan. He'd not worked this hard & far to allow them to fall.

Should Hakuren accept clan name with all the duties it held, knowing the expectations that the Head had of him. Then & only then would he receive the first of his two gifts from the Miroku Lord. The first would be a Cursed gift from Akkuma. A seal of great power given with a single touch from the demon, where it would form would depend on the child's nature. He no longer possessed the same prowess for sealing that he once did & the process would be painful for the child. But with practice & training he'd come to harness the seal effectively. For each seal contained apart of Akkuma within it, they consisted from his demonic enzymes. They were truly Cursed gifts to his kin. A way of him trying to protect his kin in dire times even without being there. Should Hakuren accept & allow all these a wide grin would spread across the demons face. "Rise Hakuren of the Miroku. Stand proud now for you are a full member of this clan." he would say with a booming voice followed by an unnerving & slightly maniacal laugh.

"Follow me & I shall introduce you to one of the allies our clan has..." he would say with a chuckle & in a low hush as he leaned towards the boy to say those words. With that he moved to exit the room only turning back to briefly look at the child as if to say 'You coming?' expression on his face. Before moving down the hallway with an excited energy to his steps. He wondered how curious the child would be & if he had any questions. After all the demon was known to be open with his clan the full fledged members often got to voice their opinions on serious matters before the Council or Akkuma made their decision on such a matters.

[Edited; to state Curse Seal given to Hakuren should he accept the clan name knowing the duties & expectations of the clan. Also sorry on the delay feel super bad. >>']

Hakuren has heard much about Akkuma and his many powers and forms. Akkuma is a being of legend spoken in story and song. Some would say it would be an honor just to stand in front of someone so great and powerful. Hakuren knew of some of the practices of the Miroku clan and the seals of power he bestows. His mother has spoken to him about curse seals and how painful they sound. Still he wishes to learn more about them and perhaps even alter or create them. Curse seals was a type of Fūinjutsu that Hakuren eagerly wish to learn. It was a sealing art that allows one to bestow powers onto another. Hakuren was curious if his mothers Fūinjutsu could be used in combination with a curse seal. His mother’s arts allows one to seal jutsu, while a curse seal grants power to the user.

Akkuma asks him many questions and Hakuren replies with elegant answers. Akkuma smiled at how Hakuren answered the call of the clan, let see if Akkuma will smile again. “The path of the shinobi is always shrouded in shadow. We are creatures of darkness and there are many that would consider us cursed for that reason. Tradition runs deep in my family and thus I am more than use to being bound by duty for one’s family. A shinobi’s will is often not his own; we are tools for the most part and I see no conflict in being your weapon.” Akkuma’s next words was a sweet as honey and quite alluring to Hakuren. How could he say no to something he desires most. “I may be young, but I do consider myself a scholar of sorts. Known or forgotten, common or forbidden, I wish to know everything of the shinobi arts.”

When Akuuma mentioned being asked to make sacrifices, Hakuren pulls out a vial and opens it. “Everyone has enemies and everyone must make sacrifices to get anywhere in life.” He takes a deep breath as he inhales the contents of the vial. The bottle contained stardust: this substance causes feelings of elation that dull the mind and causes the victim to forget any pain and suffering they may be struggling with. “As long as archiving shinobi knowledge is one of the key goals of the clan I shall serve you faithfully.” Hakuren prides himself in his pursuit of knowledge and if his goals coincides with the clans, all the better.

Pleased with his answers, Akkuma would then bestows upon Hakuren the first of his two gifts: A seal of great power. Greater power than even Akkuma might not believe. With a single digit from Akkuma’s hand, the clan leader touches Hakuren’s forehead. Akkuma allows some of his essence to flow into Hakuren and from it a seal would form somewhere on the body. Normally the the process would be painful, but as Hakuren is under the effects of the stardust he felt nothing. As the seal appears on Hakuren’s chest, he starts to feel a little light headed. “I think I might have use to much stardust.” He grabs his chest for a sudden pain struck him. Seems not even stardust was enough to dull this agony

Eventually his entire body felt like senbon being stabbed into his body. His clothes would seem to grow as he reduces in size. He then changes from a standing up right to collapsing on the ground in the fetal position. The sound of bones snapping out of their sockets and going back in place again emanated from his body. He was going through a transformation and it was a painful one. His facial structure changes into something more vulpine; it elongates into a muzzle. His teeth become as sharp as razors and canine more pronounced. His nose become a black, rubber-like, tissue at the end of the muzzle and above the lip, with a pair of nostrils leading to the nasal cavity which lie above the hard palate of the mouth. His tongue stretches to become long enough to lick her nose. The pain he was in cases his ear to fold down flat against his head. The whites of his eyes turn black and the iris of her eyes become brown. His nails turn into claws and her finger shrink in size. Skin forms between her fingers as pads form in her palm. Same with her feet but one of her digits disappears completely. Her forepaws also seem to be slightly bigger than her hind paws. Shortly after her fur starts to grow like wildfire. The color of his fur was creamy brown color and a dab of white tips his tail. After the transformation he continues to lay there and rest. His body still hurts from the change.

Cursed Seals have long been seen as a dark practice due to their destruction of their host's body, but power-at-any-cost comes appealing to many. Occasionally, there are those who's bodies have an unnatural affinity to the Curse Seal, and rather than break down under a Seal's power merge with it in a form of symbiosis that mutates their own body. The seal that Akkuma created contained apart of Akkuma within it, they consisted from his demonic enzymes. This demonic enzymes reacted very well with the demonic energies he inherited from his mother. It would seem he was turned into a full fledged kitsune.

An emerald flame engulfs Hakuren and grows to the size of Akkuma himself. After the fire dies, Hakuren stood before him once again in human form. His looked different than he was before; his blue eyes and hair were now an earthy brown. “That was quite the ordeal. I hope this meeting is going to be less painful.” Hakuren slowly shuffles to follow Akkuma.

Much to Akkuma's surprise the answer he would receive from the child showed a wisdom & understanding of their ways that many much older then himself still failed to grasp. 'I didn't expect such an eloquent response from the boy...perhaps he will prove himself valuable.' he thought to himself for Akkuma had a great need for talented shinobi among his kin. Even more pleasing was the fact the youth considered himself a scholar & if he were a true seeker of knowledge he'd know sometimes we must do unspeakable things to learn what we must. Hakuren removed a vial speaking yet more words of affirmation, it seemed that he'd not been a fool for adding this bloodline to his clan. With the youths preparations made Akkuma would chuckle as he placed the seal upon the youth after his efforts to dull the pain had been futile.

The youth uttered a comment about using too much Stardust, the demon assumed that was the substance he'd ingested. Then the demonic enzymes began to bind themselves to the youths chakra system & body. Suddenly Hakuren began going through an unexpected shift. Now it was not the first time that Akkuma had seen drastic reactions to the addition of his demonic enzymes. In quite a few of his recipients he'd noticed interesting side effects or conditions developing due to the addition of his enzymes. Even noting remarkable physical transformations but this...this was unique in his observations. Briefly his gaze would flicker from his hand to the boy, wondering if it had been residual Kitsune energy within him or something that had lain dormant within the youth. With everything said & done that needed to be he was even more excited to show the youth Jinkotsu. Chuckling at his response to the transformation & seal placement.

"Hahaha aren't you a curiosity? I can't wait to see what your future holds. But before that...if you're going to take on the duties of this clan I can't have you doing so without the means to defend yourself. Our objective as a clan is of the greatest importance..many lose sight of our true purpose but at least I've given them the tools to survive." the Demon would say offhandedly. It seemed he was not concerned with those who had faltered in their pursuits of the clan duties. After all he was known for overlooking transgressions of clan members or making allowances for members if need be. Although he was a demon & his position along with his goals required him to be ruthless. He tried not to lose sight of the goal he had for the clan. While he wanted them to follow the clan ways he wanted this clan to be a true family. No matter their disagreements & misgivings with one another.

They would arrive at a tunnel which led down to the catacombs as they walked down into the darkness Akkuma would conjure a small flame in his hand to light their way. "There is far too little space above for my friend to be summoned...I have a compact you see. With a being I'm sure you'll find quite fascinating." as the reached the bottom of the tunnel they would enter a massive cave. About a hundred foot in height & longer then a football field. Akkuma bit his thumb & quickly performed a series of handseals. Before long a massive skeletal demon was summoned before them. Towering at a massive 60ft in height & gazing down at the two individual before it. "Hakuren...allow me to introduce you to Jinkotsu." with those words the being would lean down to further inspect the small child before it. "A child? What makes you think this one is worthy?" Jinkotsu would ask the demon, who would in turn chuckle devilishly. "He's not like the others...I think you'll find him quite interesting." with those words Akkuma's emerald gaze would shift to Hakuren.

Akkuma found interest in Hakuren which makes him glad. Hakuren hopes that Akkuma’s interest would lead to allowing him to learn the shinobi art even as dangerous as they may be. Akkuma say something about giving his members the tools to survive. “Means to defend myself, hmm.” The gears within Hakuren’s mind were turning. Curse seals are a type of Fuinjutsu that bestows power to the person directly, while his mother’s Fuinjutsu seals a jutsu into a talisman. Normally mixing different types of Fuinjutsu is not done for the results can be hard to predict, but he would like to try it sometime. Then as if reading his mind the curse seal begins to grow and creates symbols down his arms. They were not just any symbols, they symbols Hakuren recognize. Hakuren could read what was drawn on his arms, but he could not believe it. As they stood in front of a tunnel, leading to a place of the dead, Hakuren would stop and confront. “Akkuma-sama, do… do you know the Fuinjutsu of my mother?” Akkuma would likely be confused by Hakuren’s question. Hopefully he would be honest and say that he does not.

“Look at this on my arm here.”
Even if Akkuma looks, all he would likely see is a curse seal. It was nothing but lines drawn on Hakuren’s skin; it had no meaning to Akkuma. There was nothing the resembles letters or Kanji for Akkuma to think it different from any other seal and yet Hakuren seems astonished from it. “I can read this.” His mother writes these spells written in a runic language on paper talismans to seal jutsu into them. “It says, chosaint. It means defend. It’s a barrier jutsu.” Looking on his other arm he sees a different incantation. Staring at his other arm he reads, “arm uisce.” This translated to water weapon. “A weapon creation jutsu?” Hakuren is not even sure how that would come out as a curse seal. Hakuren really wishes she could test these seals to see how they work, but now was not the time. “Forgive me sensei for interrupting the lesson, I will look into this on my own time.”

They would arrive at a tunnel which led down to the catacombs. Akkuma would conjure a small flame in his hand to light their way and Hakuren follows suit in his own way. Pulling out a talisman with an Infernal Ember sealed with it, Hakuren would release the jutsu. The talisman bursts into flames but is not consumed by them. Holding the burning paper he follows Akkuma into the darkness. Once they reached the bottom of the tunnel they would enter a massive cave. When Akkuma summons Jinkotsu, Hakuren was caught off guard. The sudden arrival of someone so immense causes Hakuren to jump back. The creature questions the worth of Hakuren and with a brave voice Hakuren replies, “Test me then. Let me prove to you what value I have.” Hakuren want to test this strange curse seal, perhaps this huge demon will give him the opportunity to do just that.

It seemed Hakuren was being quite attentive to what he was saying. Then the youth asked him if he knew anything about Hakuren's mothers Fuinjutsu to which Akkuma would briefly pause in his steps, that piercing gaze shifting to the boy before laughing. "Truthfully I didn't even know your mother was capable of Fuinjutsu. She's done well to ensure such information hasn't reached me earlier. Though no doubt she doesn't want to get stuck doing any sealing.."" he'd say before chuckling & continuing walking. Hakuren spoke again gesturing to his Curse Seals causing Akkuma to stop & take observations. From what he could see there seemed no issues with the seals. But the stated he could read them & each was a different technique. '...curious. This family just keeps getting more & more interesting.' he thought to himself before saying. "It's quite alright Hakuren, I encourage curiosity & discussing the unknown. At least when it's not about my private projects." he'd say with another chuckle.

A few brief moments later...

A blood chilling chittering sound could be heard as the massive skeletal demon leaned forward to observe the boy who was so eager to battle him. It's eyes glowed a purple as demonic energy began to flow from the being like a toxic miasma. "You presume to be of worth to me boy? What can you offer my kind? What makes you worthy of walking with the damned?" Jinkotsu would ask in a deep voice. "Your Lord is an exception of many mortals. The first in my entirety of existence that I've made a compact with..." leaning in closer over the youth so the chittering would be ominously loud. "...why would my kind agree to be bound to you?" Jinkotsu would ask the youth he wanted to determine a great deal of things about the youth & the easiest way to do so was to gauge the responses he gave.

Akkuma would chuckle & take a seat on the sandy earth beneath his feet. Taking out a small gourd of his specially brewed sake & his pipe. Packing his herb mixture into the pipe he would ignite the contents with a snap of his finger. There was something about the youth that was eating away at the demon. Almost as if there was something about him that he just couldn't put his fingers on. Deep in thought the Sage was began to wander, he was both here observing & listening. While focusing on the goals ahead of him. There would be many trials ahead of him & the demon would need someone he could depend on in dire times. The youth before him had shown substantial promise. He wondered what the boy might accomplish if given the chance to prove himself. No matter how the events of today proceeded Akkuma was sure that Hakuren's path as a shinobi was going to get vastly more interesting.

With a chuckle to himself he uncorked his sake & took a swig of the brew. The demon was curious as to what response the youth would give. After all he'd proven himself to be exactly what Akkuma's ideal clansman was. Or he was very adept at reading his situations & cunning enough to know how to guide the course of events to his benefit. Though should Hakuren gain the knowledge that would be offered to him should he prove himself worthy then the cursed seals placed upon him will have at least prepared him for some of the pain to come."Before you stands Jinkotsu, the First of the Gashadokuro." if Hakuren knew anything of the occult he would understand more about the being that stood before him. After all the Demon had said it was a potential ally. Demons lived for the darker aspects of life & ones nature. The Chaos in the balance.

Hakuren bows politely, “It is a pleasure to meet you Jinkotsu-sama. My name is Miroku Hakuren.” DId Akkuma say a Gashadokuro? As He has mention before Hakuren considers himself a scholar of sorts. Considering the unique heritage Hakuren possesses, he does have some understanding of demonology. The Gashadokuro are spirits that take the form of giant skeletons and are fifteen times taller than an average person, said to be created from the amassed bones of people who died of starvation. This gave Hakuren an idea of how he may please such a demon. “I presume nothing, but merely ask that you do not consider me worthless due to my age.” He pulls out a storage scroll and from it he somes a pot, sorted vegetables. “However I admit I was a little hasty in my comment. For someone as great and powerful as you I shall grant you an offering.” Using a water jutsu Hakuren fills the pot. Tossing a green onion into the air he quickly pulls out a kunai and shows of his skill with the blade. With both speed and grace he dices the onion before it even hits the water. Hakuren does this multiple times with different vegetables, but this time in greater numbers. “Would you be wanting a bowl Akkuma-sensei? Something to eat should help you metabolize the alcohol better.” He Places a Combustive Seal on the ground with a Infernal Ember jutsu and then sits the pot on top of it. With a snap of his fingers the flame ignite an the soup begins to boil.

As it cooks Hakuren would have one more idea. If his mother’s fuinjutsu could mix with curse seals, then perhaps it can merge with other things as well. Hakuren holds his arm over the boiling pot and the curse seal that had spend to it seems to melt in the steam. The seals energy imbues into the soup. “The previous contract animal asked of me to bestow upon him an offering before allowing me to make a contract with his kind.” Yes this was not Hakuren’s first rodeo, but still it was something he wish to receive from Akkuma for balance sake. Hakuren would like to say that he does not believe them to be so different than the kind of species he is dealing with now. However Hakuren would dare not say that out loud for who knows what a Yokai’s reaction would be if he was compared to his counterpart, the Kami.

When the soup was ready Hakuren would give a bowl to Akkuma if he asked for one, dish out his own bowl and give the rest of the pot to Jinkotsu. The pot would be less than a bowl compared to his size and would likely go straight throught him, but it is his nature to eat. Upon devouring such a meal, those who took part in it would find themself holding a weapon made of water as it was imbune with the water whip jutsu using the Special Action - Water Weapon.

[ooc: Hope you don’t mind this is my way of doing Karmic Blessing. I did not want Hakuren to be your normal Tsuchimikado, so after a while I came up idea. I’m thinking of possibly making him the first cooking-nin of sand. Though I do plan on being more successful than the ones in Naruto]
