Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Looking over the name of today’s victim-

Scratch that.

Looking over the name of today’s participant, the young girl grew a smirk. Akira, ay? It was uncanny, really, how many times the boy was assigned to her. Was she becoming a sensei of sorts to him? Nonetheless, if she was responsible for shaping his young shinobihood, she’d make sure her lessons would provide him optimal usefulness in real life scenarios. But what defined reality, anyway? Being an illusionist, Suika constantly defied the odds of what was tangible and what wasn’t. Akira had his first dose of this lesson, but today he was to face another. This time, however, the purpose of her tutor would be different. And since it was Akira and friends, the kunoichi decided to have a little fun with it.

When assigned his dojo-annex within the obstacle course area, Akira would enter a room that was nothing short of dark and menacing. The obstacle course, from its lighting to décor, looked like a movie set from some old-fashioned horror film. Thanks to the ever-evolving technology within Cloud, Suika was able to emulate a stormy and spooky night within the obstacle room. Suddenly, Akira would hear a wolf howl! Terrifying, right? Bats screeched and flew from the dead, branchy wood of naked trees as the booming of thunder erupted. On a nearby tree was posted a note written in blood.

“Face your fears.”

Suika did go all out, it appeared, and tried to set the mood for a fright. After all, being a shinobi was a terrifying thing at times – how would Akira and his team fare against the girl’s scary tricks? Not before long, Akira’s fear, visible to his friends, would manifest in front of his eyes. Whatever it was, it was not friendly. It would then attempt to attack the boy! What will Akira do?

Another lesson with Suika it seemed as Akira rustled through a backpack, wondering if he had packed everything necessary for class. Though realistically, he had no idea what the class was about and thus could only be scarcely prepared for whatever was next.

To the dojo within the obstacle course was his targeted area. He wore a paper bag over his head, with two little hole for his golden eyes to see through. Why did he wear the paper mask? Only Akira could possibly know, if there was such a thing as a reason for the young shinobi to do so. Perhaps his greatest strength was not his intelligence and adaptability, but the rather unpredictable and sometimes maddening nature of the boy that at many times lacked common sense.

Upon arriving to the Room, Kuro who also donned a paper mask, and Aoi who apparently joined the boy in wearing a mask entered the room. They scattered about instantly and quite skillfully. Could it be a trap? They knew better then to underestimate Suika.

[i[Nin Nin…Nin Nin…[/i] was a rather strange sound the boy made, apparently he was emulating a ninja…though he was a ninja in training…or was he a ninja playing a movie ninja? The idea itself could give one a headache and would likely confuse anyone who witnessed the rather strange display before them.

A wolf howl! Akira was not scared, instead he grew excited! Could it be one of his fellow Beastmen!? Could it be a wild beast? Fascinating struck the boy, not terror. Perhaps animals weren’t the best thing to scare the boy. Bats?! Another animal…Akira would seem to be more interested in speaking with them rather than be deathly afraid of them. And then there was thunder and a note in blood, albeit it would be scarier if being a nomad he wasn’t always subjected to storms and the boy licking the blood off the tree wondering if it was real blood or tomato sauce. A strange child indeed.

However, it seemed whatever the spell or technique was began manifesting his own fear, a secret terror that lurked within Akira. Unbeknownst to all but the Inugami, as Akira himself was an illusion before him. Dark, cold, menacing in appearance. Was he afraid of himself? It looked just like him, however his hands would be covered in blood, his back showing a strange cursed marking of the Inugami Clan, one that Akira had never shown anyone, one that was secret to himself and his kind. A solitary look in his eyes, not one of hate, one of loneliness.

What did the image mean? Was Akira afraid of himself or was there something darker and more menacing and this illusion just scratched the surface. The real Akira could hardly breath, clutching his chest, gasping, his eyes full of both hate and fear. Kuro seemed to sense his partners distress, appearing before him, rubbing his body against Akira and barking at the boy. Akira however was unresponsive. As the Evil Akira attacked, Kuro headbutted the Real Akira into the ground to prevent any serious wound on the boy.

What did the illusion mean? What else did Suika have planned?

Suika observed in stealth from a distance. Since her illusion was just that, she was not able to discern exactly what Akira was observing, but she knew that, whatever it was, Akira was spooked. The look on his face wasn’t one she saw from him before. This meant her exercise was working. Back in her Academy days, Shieo, her aloof dumb-headed sensei, assigned to her a similar exercise. It was an instrumental part of her experience as a student that, she felt, aided exponentially in her growth. Hopefully, it’d do the same for Akira. As a shinobi, it was important¬ to face your fears, as shinobihood itself was full of dreadful situations that one had to overcome or risk certain death. Suika would ensure Akira had a firm tolerance toward fear; it could potentially save him one day.

As the boy faced his evil doppleganger, the fake Akira smirked malevolently as he revealed his Inugami claws. From the tips of nails dripped crimson drops of blood… whose blood was that? It wasn’t long until the false Akira showed the boy his relentless ferocity. Swiping at him, he was aiming to kill. This was an A-rank genjutsu after all.

The being then attempted a full on feral assault against the blue-haired Inugami. His attacks were strong, but Akira wouldn’t find too much trouble deflecting or avoiding his moves. However, more than the power he wielded, was the potential mental challenge this image brought. It not only attacked, but it had the capability of reaching into the depths of Akira’s mind and truly bringing his nightmare to life.

“Worthless. Not enough blood.” Spat the evil version of the boy as he prepared for further attack. Appearing more animalistic than last time, the being grew visibly stronger, and would continue doing so the more Akira fed into his fear. What would Akira and his friends do?
