He had considered Wind Country to be a nasty place to visit because of all the sand but he had not even considered that Cloud Country would have mountains that he would have to climb! Mountains are almost as bad as stairs and stairs are the absolute worst.
Grumbling and muttering to himself as he reached the pass that indicated the end of his journey, the one that contained the gates Lightning, he approached slowly. He had managed to slip in amongst a group of merchants that had come to trade with the hidden village and had traveled with them for the past few weeks offering them protection in exchange for letting him go through the gates with them. He wasn't sure that they would keep quiet long enough for him to get in but at least he had had a warm fire and good company along his journey.
Beneath his cloak Mizuchi squirmed, "It is alright my friend, we are almost there and once we are settled down I will get you a nice mouse to eat... hmmm, or maybe a rabbit." His new friend was large white viper that he had tamed along his journey. It was good to carry company with you wherever you go, and they had managed to form somewhat of a symbiotic bond. "Not long now, stay still." As the line of merchants and villagers to be inspected by the gate guards he kept his hood up and stuck close to his travel companions, hopefully he would just be waved through with them.
