Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

A day or so after being allowed through the village gates of Konoha, the half-breed of Tomoe Country found herself in the Oak District of the village. This was known as a famous commercial district in the village and was homed to an assortment of various shops including two rival shops known as Ramen Ichiraku Ramen Shop and Azumi’s Dango Shop. However, this concept of a commercial district and the various aromas and shops that filled the streets was foreign to the Murakami woman considering her village had essentially the bare minimum and there was no luxuries as they were constantly in war with the other villages within their country for land, resources, and power since there was no true leadership governing the country like a daimyo nor one centralized village/town. While it was foreign though, Tomomi knew that she needed to learn as much as she could since any pieces of information, even as trivial as a district and how it operated, could prove to be valuable when she made her journey back home to help her village grow and prosper internally as they hopefully expanded their land through the country.

In the district, she stayed to the side as the hustle and bustle was simply extraordinary to her as she walked. A few times she would be stopped to question what was on her head as her two horns caused her to stick out like a sore thumb compared to the ordinary citizens of the Hidden Leaf. But, it also did not help that she had been walking around with her armor on since she arrived and had not considered purchasing a change of clothing or using some variation of the basic Transformation Jutsu to have her fit in. Then again, her appearance and how she presented herself did not matter to her all that much as she was on a personal mission for her village. As long as she completed this task and did not cause too much of a commotion or ruckus for the village, it would be a success.

However, it would also be good to talk to the villagers and at least establish some contacts in the village that she could turn to if she would return at a later date for another self-made assignment or simply to enjoy some time off from working. Both options at the current moment would not be happening in the foreseeable future once she did return home though as there was a lot to do once she did. Nevertheless, allies could be most beneficial for her cause as well, but time would tell what would happen

Hoshirei found herself once more walking through the Oak District and just absorbing the flow of people in the village as they rushed about their daily tasks. She heard a couple people whisper about an odd looking lady but shrugged it off. There were plenty of things that civilians found odd, herself among them. She still caught people staring, especially those who remembered her from her youth. Usually with a single look, civilians tended to back off, but sometimes they were just plain stupid. Something felt odd on the air and it reminded her a bit of when she could feel through certain transformations and camouflage techniques yet somehow a bit different.

The reason why became apparent when she heard a ghost say something about someone working themselves into a froth over a horned lady. The words made her frown and she looked around to see if she could find the aforementioned horned lady. Her search did not take long especially since there was certainly only one horned lady wearing armor in the immediate vicinity. Once she saw that the woman was just observing the throngs of people and store fronts with a rather curious look on her face, she looked around the woman to find the other person the ghost mentioned.

This took a little longer, as she was behind the woman and whomever was apparently starting to approach her. Hoshirei quickly moved to intercept the civilian before he could do something stupid, like anger what could quite possibly be a part-demon. Especially in a crowded area, she would rather they not make the scene they wanted. She grabbed the man by his bicep, stopping him in his path. He whirled around and started yelling at Hoshirei who just gave him a flat look before raising an eyebrow and asking, "Are you quite finished?" He glared at her until he finally noticed her hitai-ate on her arm. He sheepishly walked away and she couldn't help but to roll her eyes.

Hoshirei took a moment to look at the other citizens around her to make sure they weren't causing any trouble before making her way over to the almost target of the civilian's ire. Upon arriving closer, she noted the woman matched the description of a person let into the village a few days ago. She had wanted to talk to the foreigner and this gave her a good opportunity to do so. "Hello there. How are you finding our village?" she asked amicably with a soft smile on her face.

As she continued to walk, the half-breed simply kept taking in the sights, smells, and sounds of the district as she tried to piece together information in her mind. It somewhat interested her that one location in a village could be so busy like this district, but still be able to navigate and shop without any real troubles. Of course with more people walking in the district and in the Hidden Leaf Village in general, it felt like the personal touch to everything was not as ideal as Tomomi could remember from home. While her village was smaller in comparison and focused entirely on their military power and defenses, almost every single citizen knew one another by name and knew where to locate them if need be; that would be more difficult in a large-scale village, but it was a difference that she merely took note of mentally as she kept walking.

During her walk, she would hear yelling from a masculine voice behind her and was curious what the commotion was about. However, she did not stop walking as it was not a concern to her as she was a visitor to this village and she did not need to get involved in this village's affairs unless she needed to protect herself. But since her arrival, she had not needed to put her guard up or worry about trouble brewing for her as everyone seemed fairly reasonable and nice to her even if she looked different than them and they had no idea where she came from. She was prepared though to guard herself if need be, but having an escort like the red-headed woman that was supposedly following her around everywhere also helped to ease people's tensions or stresses that they may have experienced when initially seeing her.

After a little while, she would hear a voice addressing her with a smile on her face after Tomomi turned around to see the woman. She was roughly the same height as the woman talking to her was, but this woman had gold-yellowish eyes and black hair. She also wore the emblem for her village on her left arm and she was dressed fairly decently considering some of the individuals that the half-breed had met thus far on her journey from her home country to her past few days in the Hidden Leaf and Fire Country. Her body language gave off that she was not hostile at the moment and she appeared to be relax which was good as the Murakami "Gifted" one did not want to engage in a brawl with someone from this village unless it was agreed upon and others could intervene before someone could get severally harmed; in other words, she wanted any sparring or fighting to be pre-planned.

As for now, she would look at the woman from top to bottom once before looking her in the eyes with her cold, red eyes as she addressed her with no true emotion in her voice and one that others could call distant like she was not even there: "I am satisfied since being allowed into your village. It has been only a few days though so I have no real thoughts or feelings yet." Yes, that was a typical Tomomi response to anyone which was direct and to the point as there was no need to elaborate or go on a tangent about anything unless the other party required it.

Hoshirei smiled at Tomomi's response. The woman was rather blunt, but that was something she appreciated at times. The crowd around them gave them both a pretty good berth without obviously avoiding them. The kunoichi thought for a moment before speaking again, "You seem to be rather new with a market district. Do you have any questions about it?"

Hoshirei looked around herself, trying to view it as if she was looking at it for the first time. It was probably a good thing she was not agoraphobic as she always seemed to forget just how many people bustled about in the middle of the day. She also made a mental note to see if Maki wanted to try a larger group of people sometime soon.

A smile would be given to the half-breed of Tomoe Country from the stranger in front of her whom had no name given yet. She seemed at least friendly and non-threatening which could allow Tomomi to relax a little bit, but she still was in a foreign land with many things unknown to her. While she had gathered a significant amount of information in only a short amount of time, she still needed more and she knew that one of the best options was to communicate with the citizens of this village to discover and learn more about the Hidden Leaf and Fire Country since any information could prove fruitful in the future. As she was about to say something, the friendly stranger would ask her if she had any questions about this district as she must have left off the impression that it was foreign to her which was not incorrect at all. This development from this stranger did not catch her off guard enough to show any true emotion or impulses however.

But at least someone of the village was taking the initiative to engage a foreigner and trying to at least make them feel welcomed which Tomomi could not say about everyone that she met so far. After a brief pause between them, she would extend her hand to the woman in front of her and begin to speak with that cold, direct voice that everyone that had come into contact with her had learned quickly: "Before I answer your question, let me introduce myself. I am Murakami Tomomi of Tomoe Country.

She would pause momentarily to allow the stranger to introduce herself if she chose to do so. Regardless of shaking her hand or responding to her introduction, Tomomi would continue a few moments later: "Regarding your question, this district is foreign to me as much of your village is. In comparison to my village and country, we are small-scaled compared to any country that has a hidden village in it. We have the bare necessities to live back home and our population is significantly smaller than yours."

Hoshirei's soft smile remained on her face as Tomomi extended her hand as part of her introduction. The Isaki returned the gesture, clasping Tomomi's hand in her firm, solid grasp. "I am Isaki Hoshirei, head of the Isaki clan and head jounin of Konoha. It is a pleasure to meet you, Murakami Tomomi. Do you prefer to go by your family or given name?"

One good thing about growing up Isaki, even away from the clan, is that you learned much about many places and cultures, or at least enough to be sensitive to potential differences from ones' own. Hoshirei listened to Tomomi's description of her home and thought it interesting. She hadn't met many people from places so small. Sometimes her clansmen brought back reports of different villages and remote locales, though that had tapered off a bit after the clan moved to Konoha. Perhaps it was time to begin anew their explorations.

"Many things here must seem either strange, loud, or a combination of the two for you. The hustle and bustle can be a little much sometimes, even for those who have lived here their whole lives. I don't believe I am familiar with Tomoe Country, though it feels like the name is trying to work something out of my memory. Is it very far from Konoha?"

It would only be a few moments before the Konoha kunoichi would shake her hand with a smile and introduce herself as the head of the Isaki Clan and a head jounin on her village. Of course, the half-breed of the foreign country known as Tomoe Country had no information on what a jounin was nor if the Isaki Clan was a group that she needed to respect or watch out for. Regardless, at this current moment, she did not need to worry as there did not seem to be any hostility behind this woman's actions or words, but this could always change. However, she was being quite friendly so Tomomi believed that she could relax a little especially since someone was not going to make a scene in an area heavily populated unless they wanted to likely be arrested or killed on sight.

There would be a brief pause which allowed Tomomi to respond to Hoshirei's initial question of how she wanted to be addressed. It was something so minor, but knowing that someone cared enough to ask was admirable. Looking at the woman with her cold, distant eyes, Tomomi would respond briefly with that same distant tone in her voice: "I do not have a preference to how you address me, but Tomomi would likely be easier to say and remember than my last name. I have been addressed as either in the past so you may choose. How would you like to be addressed, Isaki Hoshirei?"

Before her question could be answered, Hoshirei would ask a follow-up question about the whereabouts of Tomoe Country as the Head Jounin did not have any recollection of it which was not surprising considering it was a rather small country in the middle of nowhere. This was also a question that Tomomi knew would be coming when she mentioned where she was from since most people are simply curious and love to engage in small talk. She would, as always, entertain the question with her simple answer to it in that same tone as always: "Tomoe Country is not close to Konoha nor any well-established village in this world. We are quite a distance from your village and it took me a long time to get here. I am not completely sure where on a map the country would be at."
