Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Yomi tied a basket attached to a rope around Besito's neck and sent him off to deliver the basket's contents to Kaori. He was a little big to be a messenger wolf, but, she worked with what she had. Upon finding Kaori, Besito will deliver the note that's in the basket to her. Yomi's first official directive as Sennin for her favorite Kaori.

The Message Read:

Tenkawa Kaori,

“Daisy” has created a lethal poison out of…well I’m not sure. It’s proving very difficult to treat and we think that we have come up with a solution, however the antidote needs very specific items in order to synthesize. With all my new-found responsibilities, I cannot search for these things on my own. Please procure the following items for me:

1. A live Shimmer Fish.
2. A jaw of a Fire Mane Mount. (Teeth intact)
3. The heart of an adult Hoarfrost Wolf.

The Shimmer Fish can be located deep within the Forest of Death. They congregate at the Stream of Life, a funny name for something located within the Forest of Death. They are easy enough to catch and plentiful, yet no one has managed to bring one back alive recently. Like any fish, you simply must bait it to catch it. Because of the strange happenings when people have sought out the fish, you must be careful. A handy map is enclosed to help you get to where you need to go.

The Fire Mane Mount, these timid creatures are thought to be hunted to extinction. It has been said that the black market in Crater City is booming and where there is a black market there is bound to be a Fire Mane Mount jaw about. Used for its exquisite and potent medicinal properties, the black market now controls its price. Use whatever tools you have acquired through training and bring one back by any means necessary. As a lead, seek out my contact named “Juelz” found in a dive called “No Mans’s Land”.

The Hoarfrost Wolf. Called so due to the color of their fur and not where they are generally found. I think it’s related to Besito, but, seeing as I got Besito in a different country, I’m not so sure. Besito is larger, perhaps they are cousins. I need a heart from an adult. They roam around the Valley of the End at night. They are always in packs and are dangerous due to their high intelligence level. Be extremely careful.

OOC 1:
First mission (B RANK) is capturing a live Shimmer Fish. Being that is found in the Forest of Death, the Forest won’t make it easy for you to get there even with the map. It depends on how the Forest feels about you.

1. Based on the map, pick a route to take you to where you want to fish.
2. You will start from point 1 on the map
3. You can only fish from points 11, 14 and 19
4. When choosing a route, you must stop at, at least 2 points.
4a. For example: If you were going from point 1 to point 17, you would say: Going from Point 1 to 17, stopping at Points 4 & 5.
5. Each obstacle must be cleared before moving on to the next point. An obstacle being at a point is determined by rolls.
6. Please note OOC what you are bringing with you to help complete your task. Remember you’re going fishing in the Forest of Death. Items for fishing do not take up slots.
7. Catching a fish is determined by rolls. You get 3 chances to catch a fish at each site. You then will be allowed to go to an alternate fishing spot, but, remember to tell me the route. Obstacle rules still apply.
8. If you caught a fish on the first route you chose, you will leave on that same route.
9. If you did not come across an obstacle at a point going, you will be rolled again to determine if an obstacle has appeared to keep you from leaving.
9a. If you passed an obstacle going, you will not face one leaving.
10. If you had to fish at an alternate site, and caught one, you must tell me the new route home. Obstacle and Traveling rules will still apply.
11. Remember to have fun, meet the WC, and Pray to RNGesus.

OOC 2: Map

OOC 3:
Map is not a council provided map and should not be taken as a legitimate representation of the Forest. It's strictly for this mission's purposes only.

"Lady Kaori!" one of the Shrine Knights, who now works for Kaori, said as he walked into Kaori's room said, before bowing his head to her. This caught Kaori's attention as she was reading a manga upon her bed. Lowering the book, Kaori turned to look towards the man with an impatient look on her face and a raised brow. Once Kaori's attention was grabbed, the man continued. "There is a large, uh, wolf at the gate. What would you like us to do with it?" the man asked causing Kaori to place a bookmark on where she was reading and placed it upon the night-stand next to her bed. She kicked herself out of the bed and brushed some of her hair off of her shoulders and away from her eyes. "Let it in. I'll be out there shortly," she said as the man nodded and left the room, closing the door behind him. Clearing her throat, she stretched her arms above her head for a moment with a light yawn.

"Could it be... Besito?" she asked before getting dressed in her white dress, bringing the Gloves of Divine Dragon Flame with her out to the gate. She walked out of the house to see a large wolf and gave it a big smile and a cheerful wave. "Oh! Besito! It's good to see you again!" she said before one of her Shrine Knights approached her with a question. "You actually know this beast, Lady Kaori?" Kaori simply turned and gave a stone-cold gaze at the man for a moment. "Yes, I do. While I was running away from you Shrine Knights, a woman by the name of Yomi and her wolf took me in for safe-keeping. This being the wolf," she said before the Shrine Knight nods with a clearing of his throat. This man was one of the three in the search party those many years back and the embarrassment just took him over for a moment.

Kaori approached Besito and noticed a basket around his neck. She tilted her head, looking at the basket inquisitively before reaching up to pet the creature first and then reaching her hand into the basket to pull out a note. She quickly opened the note to read the contents of it. After reading the note, it was a fetch quest and an audible groan could be heard from Kaori as she read that it was a poison that 'Daisy' made. "Probably a poison from those damn black flowers of hers," she quickly said before turning her attention towards the Shrine Knight that was attending to her. "I have a job to take so I leave the Shrine to Coffee-Sensei until I return," she said before giving off a big yawn. The Shrine Knight saluted Kaori and took off to go tell Coffee-Sensei.

She opened up the note that was given to her to tell her of the ingredients that they needed for the antidote and the first item would be in the Forest of Death; to catch a live Shimmer Fish. While she has no idea what a Shimmer Fish looked like, she could probably take a wild guess due to the name. It's almost like Yellow Fins or Blue Gills. Some of the fish were named after their visible properties, so she more than expected that the scales of the fish would shimmer and gleam in the light. Since she wasn't given any equipment, she'll have to make the equipment herself. She took off to the shed where she used to sleep and started to quickly make a net out of thin rope, similar to the size of paracord and created a net with relatively small holes in the net. After creating the net, she also decided to bring along some fishing line and created a rudimentary hook out of a few strands of metal. While the single strand wasn't strong enough on it's own, she took several of the strands and spun them together to improve the rigidity and tinsel strength.

The fact that she needed this thing alive was the annoying part. So in order to bring this thing alive, she needed something to carry it in. She looked around the storage and found nothing only to walk inside of the main house and found nothing. She walked outside of the house and put her hands upon her hips and thought for a moment. A thought occurred to her and she gathered all of the rope nets and fishing line and lugged it with her. She went out into the town and bought a plastic cooler. Yup, it was the best way to hold the fish. While she was at it, she also bought a few bottles of water. After buying the cooler, she used the cooler as a container to carry all of her stuff to include the fishing line and the net that she quickly improvised. Now that she had everything she needed, it was time to go to the Forest of Death!

Upon reaching the mouth to the Forest of Death, Kaori set the cooler full of stuff down and pulled out the handy-dandy map that was given to her. This showed possible fishing spots at the "Stream of Life". Strange name given the moniker of this place. There were a few good fishing spots but one location stood out to her the most.
There was a ring and she could use this as a means to trap fish and even actively fly fish one one. She nodded and picked up the cooler of stuff and started to make her way towards the circular stream where she could easily fish twice for the price of once.

Kaori entered the Forest of Death. For something so drearily named, she would note the feeling of many lively eyes that were upon her as she made her way to the Stream of Life. So far, the Forest only watched her, perhaps wanting to learn her intentions before deciding if it would cast her out with her proverbial tail between her legs.

OOC:
I didn't note what constitutes an obstruction as far as the rolls are concerned.
Rolling a 1, 2, 3, or 4 is an obstruction
Rolling a 5, or 6 is no obstruction

The sounds of the forest called out to her as she walked through the forest. A strange feeling of being watched loomed over her, causing paranoia to start to get to her;
a similar feeling to when she was on the run from the Shrine Knights. She looked over her shoulder a few times, thinking someone was following her. While the forest, itself, seemed at rest, her mind went a million miles-per-hour expecting something to lash out at her and take her out. Her skin began to crawl at the feeling of being watched, looking all around her for the source of this feeling, however, she came up with nothing. If this feeling got TOO bad, she may have to activate the Ryuugan (the Byakkugan) in order to set her mind at-ease, telling herself that everything she was experience was in her imagination and that it was tormenting her for some reason.

Kaori proceeded cautiously, stepping over downed logs and moving slowly and deliberately. Kaori heard a rustling in the bush near her, causing her to stop for a moment and turn to look at the rustling. She heard rustling once more, happening to her right, causing her to look that way. She heard even more rustling before turning to look towards it. This set of rustling, however, didn't stop like the other sounds before a small bunny rabbit popped out of the bush. Kaori's heartrate jumped up intensely for a sharp moment before taking a deep breath of relief. Kaori smiled at the little bunny and walked over to it, petting it on it's head before it hopped away. After the bunny went off to do it's own thing, Kaori returned to the path she was on before finding herself at a wide open meadow.

Her paranoia and fear of things in the forest started to get the best of her and it was probably for the best that she took a quick break. She found a nice sunny spot in the grass and set all of her stuff down. She placed the map back into the cooler while pulling out one of the bottles of water and took a few sips of it. She took this time to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. She felt the sun upon her skin and the wind blowing the beads of sweat across her flesh, cooling her down. Everything about this place just felt good in comparison to living in the urbanized area known as Konohagakure. After taking a few sips of water, she put the bottle back into the cooler and laid back int he grass, feeling each of the blades tickle her skin.

This was probably one of the easier missions she had to do. She had to just go into the wilderness and get a Shimmer Fish. Sounded easy enough. It sounded a whole hell of a lot easier than infiltrating an apothecary's lab hidden within a base only to kill the apothecary, destroying his work, and making it out alive. Something like this was a cake-walk in comparison, but she can't just under-estimate the swift breeze that was this job as anything could go side-ways at any moment. She had to remain prepared and remain vigilant. After a moment's reprieve, she kicked herself up to a seated position and stood up, dusting off the grass from her body. She bent over to grab the map from the cooler and opened it up to refresh the path. Soon, she would have to go north, cross a bridge to the east, continue east until she arrived at a dead-end, go south until her final checkpoint before she starts fishing. Her ideal situation would be to get in between the eye of the needle and fish there, testing the currents and setting up her net appropriately.

After Kaori put away all of her stuff, she picked up the cooler and continued her way through the forest. She continued up north without incident until she reached a bridge. Thankfully, the bridge was still in good working condition. She stepped onto the bridge and heard a loud creaking noise with just the single footstep. A thought ran through her mind as she groaned and hoped everything remained in-tact and at full integrity. She took another step, hearing yet another long whine from the bridge. She grimaced before taking another step and quickly jumping over the bridge and onto the land on the other side. She stuck the landing and turned towards the bridge,
expecting it to have fallen into pieces into the water. Much to her delight, the bridge still remained in-tact and standing. She tilted her head in slight disbelief before continuing on through the forest.

Kaori turned right directly after the bridge only to find herself at a dead-end. She looked over the dead-end for a moment and shook her head. Nope, that wasn't hte right way. She back-tracked back to where she was and took a turn to the left only to find herself at the bridge. Now she's starting to get a little lost. She paused at the bridge and pulled out the map once again and began to trace her steps. She put the bridge behind her and turned the map to match her relative heading. So she had to go east until a dead end and turn south, which for her would be right. She nodded, put the map away and started to make her way through the forest. The feeling of eyes watching her never left her, but she hid it away in the back of her mind for now so that she could focus on the task at-hand.

The dead-end had 2 potential paths now. There was an animal trail to the left and a bigger trail to the right. She took a moment to try to remember which direction she had to take. Without too much thought, she took the path to the right before finding herself at yet another open meadow. Time for another break!

Unfortunately for Kaori, the forest would not let her get to where she needed to go unperturbed. A thick mist permeated through the trees which impeded her vision and any internal GPS she had went wonky. As a result Kaori ended up getting turned around and is currently back at Point 1. It seems as though the Forest reset and as quickly as the mist appeared, it dissipated. Those eyes are still upon Kaori.

Unfortunately you are back at Point 1. Pick a new route. It can be the same route as before, but, because you are still trying to get to the fishing spot, you are still able to hit obstacles at points 10 & 22. It is only when you are leaving that you will not hit an obstacle at Point 10.

Kaori made her way into the meadow only for a quick fog to obscure her vision. She narrowed her eyes slightly and walked directly into the mist, activating her Ryuugan (Byakkugan) to try to see through the mist. Her vision, however, turned to static, seeing her vision being hindered more than it was helping. Due to her Ryuugan being of no-help here, she deactivated it only for the fog to clear away. Something about where she was standing seemed familiar. She turned around to see the entrance of the Forest of Death behind her. She paused for a moment and blinked, looking back between the area ahead of her and the opening of the forest and then back to the path ahead of her. A loud curse word was heard echoing throughout the forest as she threw a bit of a tantrum. She had enough problems navigating through places, in general, that the forest playing tricks on her just ticked her off.

~Calm down, Kaori. The letter did tell you that people weren't capable of finding the Shimmering Fish and this could be the reason why.~ calmly said the voice emanating from her gloves; the voice of Mina. Kaori grit her teeth and grumbled, even with the reassuring words of Mina, who resided within her weapon said. She gripped her hands into a tight fist. "I guess that path is blocked. I should find another way," she said before pulling out the map and plotting another point. The best place for her to go had been blocked so she needed to find another way to go. She plotting out points that she needed to go. It was quite a long trek, but it wasn't one that she couldn't handle. It was mid-day by now so the heat of the sun was directly over-head, beating down on her as she traversed through the forest.

The first leg of the trip was a short one, going almost in a direct line from where she stood to the next location. She passed by several groupings of trees, looking up at the trees. Any fear she had for anyone watching now turned into annoyance towards anyone that might be watching. She didn't like wasting time and what just happened was wasting her time. Her walking speed also increased as opposed to her first journey that brought her back to the beginning. It sucked that there were so many choke points and that she couldn't just carve her way through the thick brush, but she came ill prepared to cut through thick bush. Due to the unpreparedness, she was forced to stick to the main roads.

She found her first resting spot in a small opening, taking a quick moment to stop and re-hydrate as now the wind was beginning to dissipate and the sun was becoming more and more oppressive. She eyeballed the tree-tops for a moment, trying to see if she could find anyone in the trees watching her. Oh, if she found someone within the trees and figure out they were messing with her, she would most definitely tell them off. She drank the rest of the bottle and crushed it in her hand before replacing it back into the cooler. Hopefully, this stay didn't come with any consequences.

Starting over and choosing another route, Kaori headed to point 16. One of the pairs of eyes that were upon Kaori decided to make themselves known. The bear was quite interested in Kaori's holster. It confiscated it before she managed to gather her "bearings". It is looking very cute as it plays with her sacred weapon, but, as with anything in the Forest of Death, it is deadly. As the bear is a resident of the Forest, it won't do for Kaori to simply kill it. The Forest would expel her for sure. She must figure out a way to coax the weapon holster from the bear in order to proceed.

Pass this obstacle in order to proceed to the next point! After your write up the die will be cast to determine if you have been successful. Roll a 1-3 and you have retrieved the item from the bear. Like fishing, you get 3 chances to get your weapon back.

YOINK! She felt something brushed passed her, feeling something touch her rear, which was where she kept the holster that held her gloves. She jumped a little bit and looked around to see a sneaky little brown bear holding the weapon holster. This bear had Mina in his hands and Kaori wasn't going to let this bear get away with it. Something in her head told her that if she killed this creature, that the forest would just throw her out, causing her to completely fail this mission. It was probably for the best that she found a way to coerce the creepy little bear to give it back. The question that she needed to answer,
however, was how? Of course this couldn't have been a simple stroll in the woods! This had to have some kind of catch to it. Why wouldn't it, right?

It seemed she had to either give the creature a choice. She slowly approached the creature, keeping her eye on the gloves that it was messing around with. She turned her eyes towards the bear and said in, as sweet of a voice as she could muster, "Hey there, cute thing. Please be careful with those gloves, okay? Those are very important to me," she said before placing the cooler down upon the ground and opened it up. She pulled out the paracord net that she created back at the Shrine and held it up for the bear. "Want this cool net I made? It's comfy and if you set it up properly, you can sleep in it. Or, if you are wanting to find some yummy and delicious fish, you can catch more than you need with this net. So how about it? I give you this net in exchange for those gloves that you have on you? Just think of it. Yummy, tasty fish and a nice and comfortable bed in exchange for something you can't really use. You know you want it," she went from a sweet voice to something a bit more sultry, trying to entice the bear and put the image of delicious fish, plenty of them, caught in the net awaiting the bear to catch all of the fish so it could eat.

"I'll even come around every now-and-then and even cook the fish for you. Just think of it. The sizzling of the scales, the warm and delicious taste of the fish in your mouth. Especially the female fish with the yummy eggs. I know that'll get your mouth watering, it sure does get mine watering," she said as her stomach growled. Certainly, she ate breakfast, but she forgot to pack a lunch. If she actually brought a lunch, she would have enticed the bear with a yummy treat. Mental note -- the next time Kaori goes into nature, bring food.

"Or! If you want me to, I'll even catch you some fish and bring it to you here when I get back. And then I'll even cook it for you. How does that sound?" she said as her mouth began to water, licking her lips at the thought of cooked fish. If this bear had any bit of intelligence, she hoped that the bear would take the second option and return the gloves that she holds so very dearly to her. Ugh! This would be so much simpler if she could just kill the bear and move on, but due to how 'alive' this forest seemed to be, killing this bear was probably a bad move. If only Besito was here, he'd be a much bigger help.

The brown bear tilted his cute little head at Kaori as she spoke to it. It wasn't clear how smart he was as he clung to Kaori's holster but instead of handing it over it began to walk off with it.

Kaori's eye twitched as the bear completely ignored what she said and moved on. It seemed that her sultry description of cooked fish didn't excite the bear in the slightest. She stomped over towards the bear and stood right in front of it. She put her foot down and held her hand out in front of the bear. If bartering didn't work, then perhaps a more direct approach should work. She held her hand out towards the bear, as if saying 'gimme' to the bear.
No matter how much the bear moved around, she tried her darnedest to move in front of the bear with her hand open with the palm to the sky. She wasn't going to leave this forest without those gloves and if she ran out of patience, she'll just beat the bear to death. Those gloves were the most important item she could possess and to not have them would be very similar to dying in her opinion.

If this bear's persistence to keep the gloves is what the bear is going to do, annoying the hell out of Kaori, then she's going to use the same exact tactic against this awful bear. She kept her hand out and repeated. "Give me my gloves. They are mine. Give me my gloves. They are not yours," consistently and in the most annoying voice she could muster. She then started to shriek if the bear constantly refused to give her the gloves, causing her voice to grow higher in pitch and higher in volume. She also moved every closer to the bear so the sound of her voice quickly made it's way into the bear's ears. "Those are mine, they are not yours, those aren't yours, because they are mine," she said as she changed up the words she used before making more obnoxious shrieking noises.

She moved around the animal making the same, repetitive, nails-on-chalkboard noises at the bear, even resorted to saying words in her screams, which could potentially be more annoying, breaking the static and constant sound of her screaming with something akin to words being spoken. She isn't naturally this bratty, but if this bear was going to be stubborn as hell about not giving back the gloves, she was going to annoy it, aggravate it, and verbally assault the bear with her tantrums. "How would you feel if I took your honey! How would you feel if I took your cubs! How would you feel if I took your mama bear! REEEEEE," she constantly shouted in a voice that only a pre-teen child could make. It was a surprise that she didn't completely tear her throat raw with all of these terrifying noises.

Her annoying noises went from screaming to now being the sound of a siren, oscillating from highs to lows with the shrillness, moving up to the creature's ears and making these noises while still holding her hand directly out in front of her. She then moved around towards the bear's ear and just let out the loudest scream into his ears, one so long and drawn out that afterwards she had to catch her breath. There was a brief moment of silence as Kaori caught her breath only for the shrill noise to start once again. "Gimme back my gloves!!!"

The bear was knocked over by the deafening screams. His paws were in the air but still clutching the holster. Gathering itself it blinked at Kaori and rubbed its ear with the holster. The bear, as a creature of the Forest, seemed to appreciate the more direct approach and decided it was better to return the girls things. However, because it was a product of its environment, instead of returning the holster to Kaori's outstretched hand, the Bear tossed it behind him before walking off in the opposite direction. With her item returned, Kaori was free to go to her next location.

It took Kaori being annoying as hell to get her weapon back, fantastic! The lack of respect from the creature didn't go unnoticed and Kaori simply flipped her middle finger up to the fleeing bear before running over to retrieve the gloves, placing the holster back upon her rear and putting the gloves on her fist so that wouldn't happen again.
"Sorry about that, Mina," she said in a hoarse, ruined voice. It only took ruining her vocal cords for the time being to get something so precious back to her. Kaori simply heard a sigh coming from Mina before taking a deep breath in, reaching into the cooler to grab another bottle of water since she had finished one bottle already. She put quite a bit of water into her mouth and gargled, trying to clear her throat and make it feel a bit better. Afterward, she drank the water as it would be a waste to spit it out. Certainly, it was a bit gross, but one can't waste water like that, right?

She had to get back on track. She pulled open the map and looked at where she had to go. This was a long leg of her trip. She went south east until she saw a small patch of trees ahead of her. If the map was correct, this was where she was to change directions and head north east. She felt a bit dizzy after all of the yelling and screaming so she tread lightly and took every step deliberately. She clutched all of her belongings tightly so that she wouldn't lose any more of her possessions and she continued forward, taking a yawn before approaching the next checkpoint. It was a small meadow just north west of the bridge that she planned on fishing at. All of the banshee-like screaming took a lot of energy out of her so she decided to take a break before going fishing.

She decided to have a seat in the middle of the meadow and pulled out a bottle of water and take a few sips. While the water did well for revitalizing her fluids, it didn't really do much to help her throat. Yes, the cooler kept the water cold and the cold water felt nice as it passed down her throat, it didn't do much for a more permanent solution. The cool water was topical at best and only lasted as long as the water lasted in her throat. Fantastic. Kaori cleared her throat a few times and did some scales to try to calibrate her voice, but enough damage was done to make her sound like someone who smoked for 40 straight years. If her voice was any deeper, you'd swear Kaori asked for a 'Mike Wazowski'. She tried clearing her throat again and shook her head. Why is she stopping at these places knowing that they are absolute dogshit?

Bad things have a tendency to happen in these nice and serene meadows, so why doesn't she just keep walking through? Because this forest drains a lot out of her.
From paranoia of people watching her, to the forest shoving her back to the beginning to strange and creepy bears stealing her stuff, forcing her to go full siren on them in order to get their weapon back. Kaori's beginning to think that this mission was way too difficult just to get a fish. If these other ingredients, other than the fish, were the exact same way -- Kaori is going to be pissed. At least the silver lining for today is that she didn't have to beat any bear to death. At least that's a plus.

With all the yelling Kaori did, she received her precious weapon back. Unfortunately the Forest was none too pleased with her disturbing its community. A tree branch mysteriously fell from the a tree and struck her causing excessive bleeding across her forehead! Kaori must successfully stop the bleeding in order to proceed to the fishing spot.

Pass this obstacle in order to proceed to the next point! After your write up the die will be cast to determine if you have been successful. Roll a 1-3 and you have successfully stopped the bleeding via the Coagulation Jutsu. Like fishing, you get 3 chances to get your jutsu to work. Please be sure to write out how you did it using the medical jutsu, your aura, difficulty of use, etc.

Status: Kaori - Rank 1 bleeding.

BONK! A tree-branch fell from above where she was sitting and completely clobbered her over the head. This caused Kaori to be completely knocked out for a brief moment, waking up to a spinning world. This forest must really hate her after she threw the tantrum. She had that feeling that something like this would happen as she placed a hand upon the site of where the tree-branch fell and looked at it, seeing nothing but blood on her hands. The bonk to the head was extremely disorienting,
making her digging through her equipment nigh impossible. She slid herself away from the tree branch and took a seat, flat on her rear upon the ground and sat there for a moment to regain her bearings. "Ugh. Sorry, geez," she said to the forest. Not that the forest would actually accept her apology, going to cause more and more pain and anguish within the teenager.

She remembered some of the training that Yomi had given her and with the training, she remembered there was a jutsu that could help stop bleeding. Thankfully, for her,
she had recently learned a way to cause the blood to coagulate and stop bleeding almost entirely. She flipped her hands through a series of handseals and held her left hand upon her head. She felt a warmth upon her head. Thankfully, the bleeding wasn't intense and a quick cast of the jutsu was all she needed. She didn't fully master the jutsu, but it should be more than enough to heal the wound.

She groaned and grabbed the top of her head and shook it. "Man, this forest is relentless."

"~That happens when you act like a loud and obnoxious child, Kaori. I'd have done the same thing too if I was alive."

"Oh, shut up," she said to Mina, whose soul resided within her weapon. A little giggle could be heard from the weapon before Kaori rolled her eyes and stood up. Hopefully, if the wound hand closed, she'd be ready to move on, otherwise she would have to constantly throw more and more jutsu at her head before moving on.

Relentless indeed. The Forest was infused with chakra and whatever energy it was giving off was clearly messing with how Kaori's Coagulation Jutsu was being cast. It did not work and she would have to try again to stop the bleeding. The wind picked up and rustled the leaves, giving off the sound of the trees laughing at Kaori's situation.

As Kaori stood up, she felt more blood rushing down her head. She felt a warm liquid ooze down the side of her face, causing her to move her hand up to meet with the liquid falling down, wiping it away. She looked at her hand and glared at the blood. This certainly didn't bode well for her. He let out a little grumble before Mina began to speak to Kaori. "~Take it slow, Kaori and focus on the handseals. You just produced light and heat last time and it didn't do anything. Try it again and do it nice and slow, okay?~" Mina said as Kaori took a deep breath in, closing her eyes and held her breath for a moment. She exhaled after a brief moment and opened her eyes.

She slowly formed the handseals needed for the Coagulation Jutsu and then placed her hand on top of her head. Again, there was a faint light and a warmth over the wound caused by the tree performing nature's rendition of 'Justice Rains from Above!' She held the hand there and closed her eyes, trying to concentrate on the jutsu.
Once the warm feeling was over, she moved her hand away and wiped the blood off on her white dress. A ninja wearing white isn't a good idea in terms of stealth-reasons, but it's also easy to stain because of the blood. "Mreh.. Work damnit" she said quietly. She concentrated on the jutsu so the least that she could get was a good use of it.

Mina was correct in her (its?) assessment. Patience was key! The blood no longer fell freely from the gash in Kaori's head. The Coagulation Jutsu worked! Kaori had made it through the Forest of Death and its trials in one piece. Now all she had to do was bring the fish back alive...assuming she caught them at her first stop! If not, then more trials awaited her. The time is now 3pm and the sun is shinning. The eyes, however, are still watching Kaori and she could feel them now more than ever.

Kaori either had extremely bad luck or these forest people were just absolutely rude, dropping a tree branch on her beautiful face like that! Alas, there are medical ninjutsu for that and she wouldn't have a scar afterward! Speaking of, Kaori flips through a couple handsigns before pressing her hand directly on her face, using Mystical Hand upon her face to make the future scar-tissue non-existent, healing the wound outright. Afterward, she gathered her things and continued on her way to the fishing hole.
Actually, this site was a bridge. She stopped before walking upon the bridge and wondered why she didn't fish on the other bridge before. A shrug of her shoulders was the only answer she had to give before she got herself ready.

She opened up the cooler box that she bought and took out the net, which she cast out and formed to act like a funnel, leading to a tapered point. Any fish, hopefully shimmer fish, that wound up there would find themselves struggling to get out. After setting up the net, she emptied out the rest of the contents in the cooler and dipped it in the water, filling the cooler full of water. She will need this to transport a live Shimmer Fish to Yomi. She then made her way onto the bridge and cast out the line.
She had a small wooden pole that held the string. It was extremely simple in design, requiring her to manually pull the fishing line towards her and up the bridge.
The line was more than long enough to touch the water and even have a bit of weight on it to drag it down into the water. Now all she does is wait.

As if the Dragon in the sky, or whoever it was that the people at Kaori's Shrine prayed too, felt bad for her on this mission, a Shimmer Fish politely entered her net. So long as Kaori got the fish back to the Sennin alive, all the hard work would have been worth it. Luckily, leaving would prove much easier than entering. It seemed that the Forest of Death no longer wished to mess with her. Perhaps it would be nicer to her on her next visit!

Because a fish was caught at the first fishing spot, Kaori can leave the Forest of Death without incident. Write your exit post and I'll submit rewards!

Some time had passed and 2 bottles of water later, Kaori started to look up at the sky and yawn wide. She received a couple bites on her fishing line but only came up with small bait. She'd keep some of the bait, quickly kill it and use it as bait for the net and on her hook. She stayed for a little while, forming tears in her eyes due to the excessive
yawning from the excessive amount of boredom. After a while, she put the fishing rod down and sat at the bank next to the net, just watching it passively fish other fish.
Just when she was about to pack it up and leave, she ended up seeing something 'grossly incandescent' stuck on her net. Kaori's eyes opened wide as she looked into the net to see something shimmering gold. "Holy crap! That's it! That's the fish I needed! Yes!!" she said as she brought the cooler over towards
the water's edge, near the net and reached into the net and quickly grabbed the Shimmer Fish.

It had beautiful, glowing gold scales. It looked as if she was holding a piece of the sun in her hands. Her hands began to slip off of the fish, quickly grabbing the fish again until she brought it over to the cooler and placed it in the water and quickly closed the lid. She took a deep breath and undid the net to let the other fish go. Shame,
that bear could have had SO much fish if he only gave her those gloves when she initially asked. ~Good job, Kaori! You did it!~ Mina said, her voice resonating in Kaori's head and even being slightly audible to those near her. Her voice was feint, but with sensitive enough ears, they could hear her voice.

"Yeah, it only took my voice, about a quart of blood, and probably my sanity to get this fish, but it's finally done. But that's only the first part of three," she said with a groan of annoyance. The poison's antidote was needed. Hopefully the antidote wasn't needed right away or that person was most likely dead.
Oops. She wrapped the net around the cooler so it wouldn't 'accidentally' open on it's own. She opened up the map and decided to back track to where the tree bonked her on the head and where the bear had harassed her. Hopefully, lightning doesn't strike twice in either of those locations. She made her way through the forest, walking by the downed tree branch and even where the bear was before. After a swift journey without any problems, she found herself back to the front of the forest.

Kaori turned to look back towards the forest and narrowed her eyes. "Hey, next time I come here, don't be such buttholes, okay?" she said, as if speaking to those that may have been watching her. She simply waved to them and walked out of the forest. Mission Completed!
