Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

For months, Hissori had been in a funk, for almost for years. Days upon weeks of binge drinking at a time follow by weeks of just laying around the dirty dusty old apartment reading up on the newest research and development of doctors. It had gotten so bad that one night a mother had told her child to stay away from the “drunk homeless man begging” when Hissori was just relaxing on the street corner sitting on a chair enjoying the warm air. This had been the final straw.

Hissori was a former kage damnit! He had worked so hard his entire life to get to the position he had been, bedded hundreds of people, saved thousands of lives, had enough money to last multiple life times, and lead millions in the stone village. Now though the old man had just become a homeless urchin in sanugakure? The man could not stand for it.

When Hissori had woke up today, Hissori would shower, and find his best outfit to go out to get his hair cut, Buru groomed, and look for a new apartment in a place more fitting for a man of his stature. Hissori had picked out what he felt was a good outfit. Hissori had dressed himself with a fresh silk light blue button-down shirt and tan khaki dress pants. The shirt had the top two buttons revealed the smooth chest of the male. The tan khaki’s itself seemed to well-tailored to Hisori’s long slender legs, and he had a rather nice black belt around his slim waist. Over the top of all of this was a snow-white male fashioned kimono. This was accompanied by a rather large design of waves going from the waist up and around the man’s left shoulder before surrounding the kanji for the inuzuka clan in bright red. The Kimono was fastened together but another woven belt this time, however, the buckle was Hissori’s olden beaten and slashed Kirigakure shinobi emblem. Running a comb through the man’s wild greying strawberry blonde hair, Hissori would set out.

The bearded man would walk casually up from his old apartment in the middle-class area of sanugakure all the way down to the desert crown. Hissori wouldn’t find the eyes giving him quizzical giving the rough looking man in the expensive dress followed by a large wolfdog with dirty and dull white fur. Hissori even realized that a group of what he could gather was private shinobi were following him close by waiting to throw him out. Hissori didn’t care though.

Hissori first stop was to drop his companion off at an expensive groomer. Petting Buru one last time the Inuzuka would pay the yen needed to get Buru needed and go about his way. He’d go to pick up a new pair of golden wired frame bifocal lenses, and then head over towards the salon. He had schedule the appointment weeks ago, and the hairstylist knew that Hissori was very much overdue for this cut and styling. Hours later, the man would be tipping the twenty something girl thanking for saving the man’s hair.

Hissori had chopped off almost three fourths of the hair that had come down to the base of his neck. Instead, the fifty-year-old man had a very nice looking well-groomed low fade haircut. Slightly spiked and pushed to off to the left side of his forehead. The stylish had also wasted no expense at shaving off the ratty looking beard that Hissori had grown out over the past months. Now, the smooth and weather face was easily visible to the world. The biggest change was that the hair that Hissori had was no longer a mixture of strawberry blonde and grey foliciles, instead the salon had dyed the man’s hair giving the man a rather brick red hair color, the mixture of the strawberry blonde hair and also the grey that came with Hissori’s advanced age. Hissori would give a bit of a sigh as he stepped out a rather fancy looking salon. “Thank you miss!” the old shinobi said as he smiled before looking and spotting the large now professionally groomed Buru returned to the snow-white pelt Hissori had been accustomed to seeing.

“Oh Buru don’t you look good and what is that around your neck?” Hissori said with a chuckle as he rubbed the big dog behind the ears causing the big dog to close his icy blue eyes happily. Around Buru’s neck was a black bowtie with many brightly red, green, blue, and yellow poka-dots. Giving off another happy sigh, the adult would slide one hand into the kimono pulling out an antique ivory cut opium pipe packed with tobacco and light it before putting the long neck of the pipe to his lips and took a long draw.

“Come on Buru, we have an appointment in two hours with the realtor. Let’s go find some place to eat.” The man said as he took moment to reflect on all the changes he had made, looking out over the busy aristocrats shopping and moving about on the underground streets of the Crystal District.

OC: The usual, I wont do anything without consent to your character. This is being used as an event-style NPC at the moment.

IC:

Someone was peacocking.

The hot desert community of Sunagakure was muted by the subterranean aspect this portion of the village boasted. It was true that many of the residents down here in the Crystal District wished to rise above the dirt and stone, it was natural for humankind to desire a view of the boundless heavens. Humans were indeed an adaptable race, it was what allowed them to grow so numerous and to infest the heavens and the bowels, the fields and the tundras. But still, humanity had a narrow range of comfort and want, a temperate climate, sunny days, grassy hills, a shady tree and perhaps a nearby river or sea. The desert lacked almost all of these things but humanity's stubbornness seemed to outweigh their comfort. The wealthiest among mankind, as defined as the possession of the greatest amount of embossed ore, often demanded the greatest of human comfort. It was for this reason that it was amazing that the Crystal District still existed, in fact it thrived. Perhaps some preferred the manufactured environment that was found underground. Perhaps it was fear of the storm even all these years later. Perhaps it was simply habit, this was where they carved out a life and this was where they would stay. It was hard to understand human attachment, despite their brief existence they were at times foolishly sentimental.

Shiori was here of course in brazen defiance of fate. She had proven herself a perpetual thorn in Sunagakure's side by the pure virtue of existing. She had earned their ire yet fortune was ever on her side. It was likely that they would slay her again, but she always came back and when she did this hellish cycle would continue. She was a displaced being, something that had lived for too long. Who would have thought that an immortal could live too long? She was among the last, humanity had won the war centuries ago and her kind were hunted to the brink of extinction. She did not even know that they could die, not truly in any case. She hated humanity for what she saw as a trespass.

What was she doing here in the Crystal District?

Having lunch.

Often she preferred to dine in the stretch of land between Sunagakre and Soons Haven, the mostly empty yet worn trade trail that is frequented by merchants and travelers alike. The meals there were sadly gamey, many lacked flavor. A life lived can be bland. A life unlived can be bereft of potential. Meaning their consumption, a waste much like their existence. Still, there were easy meals to be had even here in this nest of hornets.

That one there -- the middle aged peacock that was recently bathed. He would be approached by a woman out of Hissori's league, tall more curvy than thin with a form-fitting dress and a confident smile. This form was no mistake, there were certain things in a woman that appealed to men. She had a pair of those assets and the stereotypes would go from there -- the thick blonde tresses and the blue eyes. She was already quite tall for a woman standing at six feet, but the stiletto heels she wore added another almost four. She would look Hissori up and down, making no effort to hide her appraisal as she approached him. Her hand would attempt to clap on his shoulder, her long manicured fingers curling slightly over the edge of his shoulder. Successful of not she would lean forward and attempt to whisper in his ear, "Darling, you must come and meet me for lunch." She would have an almost spicy scent that would be hard to place, it was certainly not a 'bad' scent but it would be a scent that the Inuzuka had likely not noticed before. It was an oil, a perfume of some sort but not one of the perfumes that was sold here by the vendors or worn by the women of this community. That would be because human women do not smell this way, they do not choose this scent. It was an oil that could be found in some of the temples in Sunagakure, there are some that had deified Ancients such as Suna. This oil came from one such house, it was at one time her favorite. In fact it still was.

"You are quite beautiful, I am certain that you know that," she would continue, her hand if it was on his shoulder now moving towards the side of his cleanly shaven face. "Come..."

Coming out of the salon, the former Tsuchikage finally looked like he belonged in the Crystal District. With a more of a feudal, island style than most of the people on the artificial street. He would give smiles to both men and women as they walked by. Hissori had to admit while physically he looked like he belonged, mentally he was lost. which way to go, which way to go… Hissori would think as his deep emerald eyes perused the nearby street vendors. As the man scanned the streets, he noticed a blonde woman coming towards him. Adjusting his kimono, the adult would look at the women.

“Why hello there.” Hissori would say in a polite way, though the island accent was still strong for a man who at this point had lived nearly twenty years outside of Kirigakure. Glancing at the women again, the adult would check her out. He had lived here nearly five years at this point, and this seemed out of character for the village he knew. Some random cute lady walking up to Hissori, even with his knew look this seemed like a bit of a trap.

Taking a pull from the opium pipe, the former Tsuchikage blew tobacco smoke up into the air and towards the ceiling. She seemed to be checking him out as well, trying to size him up. Ii knew that she had to know who the man and his dog companion was by how she came up to him. Adjusting his new haircut, and plugging the top of the opium pipe to kill the embers and stow the pipe in his kimono the islander spoke.

“Isn’t that brazen?” Hissori said laying on the rather thick island accent. “I don’t know even know your name, but you are asking me out for dinner.” Hissori said keying in on the rather bold nature of the female. It also didn’t help that women was laying on the flirtation on quick for the man who had not bedded a women in some time. Glancing down at Buru, communicating with the dog silently he would fall in toe behind her.

Moving up and slinging his arm around the women, the smell of a rather fancy cologne would waft around him. “What is then your name sweetheart?” He said keeping the accent up deciding to play this game that she wanted to play for now. “Do you have any places you like around here? I just came in from a trip on the sea, never been up here before.” He said grinning. “I will pay for it all of course.” The former mist villager said letting Buru walk on the other side of the women.

OC: Describe to me this 'accent' because I am getting this Jamaican accent stuck in my head and this thread is hilarious because of it.

IC:
Her manicured hand had reached his shoulder. She was absolutely thrumming on the inside, but her excitement was not betrayed in her grip. It was how she tested them, at least how she did since the incident. It had been years since that encounter that nearly drained her of life. She had no idea what he was, only that he was dangerous and that she could not allow that to happen again.

“Isn’t that brazen?”

He commented and she smiled. Indeed it was, but fortune has always favored the bold. It was how she found reliable, nutritious meals.

. “I don’t know even know your name, but you are asking me out for dinner.”

"I suppose the answer is 'no' then," she replied with a hint of sarcasm. Of course the answer was going to be 'yes.' She was used to getting whatever she wanted and at the moment it was him. Even when someone's sixth sense went off, they had two choices - listen to that little voice in the back of their head that says 'bitch be crazy' or... ignore that voice and make the same mistake they had made every time before that resulted in yet another ex. Those mistakes did not prove to be as fatal as the ones men made with her, many expecting a 'stalker' or an obsessive date and willing to take that risk hoping that the sex was good enough to make it worth the while. He was going to be sorely disappointed in both regards in her case.

She would lead the way, she already had a plan of course. The city was her hunting ground, she had moved above stealing away men and women that nobody would ever risk. The winos and degenerates had a taste to them, their souls bland, their potential tasted like salted earth. The rich were not quickly missed either she had learned, and to an extent much more hygienic even if there were some eccentricities she would have to deal with on occasion. Living in such a fine place they had lied to themselves enough that they believed that they were secure. They would disappear one day, destination unknown but with no sign of break-in or violence there was little to suspect. An overdose? An impromptu get-away? There was always an excuse and people liked to perpetuate the lie that they were safe so they were wiling to believe it.

He would sling his arm over her shoulder. With the raise of his arm she would take in his scent. It was as if he had found a satchel of herbs or tree bark and a pile of leather and rubbed himself all over. The scent was overpowering even for her non-Inuzuka nose. Why did humans douse themselves in smells. She took in shallow breaths to prevent feeling woozy. It really did not help.

“What is then your name sweetheart?

"Suna," she replied as she tried her best to hold back a cough and nearly failed. Did he rub a pinetree in his armpits? "But sweetheart works just fine," she somehow managed to choke out. She would turn her head to the side slightly away and attempt to take in a deeper breath.

“Do you have any places you like around here? I just came in from a trip on the sea, never been up here before.”

The former Tsuchikage lied. She would not know this or particularly care, her only concern would have been the fact that he was purposefully misleading her in regards to his unfamiliarity. Her hand would worm its way behind him as if she was trying to get closer to him, which she was but she was more curious if he had anything dangerous or useful on his person. So her hand might have brushed 'innocently' past his backside before resting on his far hip. If she noticed anything, she would have to consider measures to separate her intended victim from whatever means of defense or assistance he might have. "I have an idea," she claimed as she led him down an alleyway.

“I will pay for it all of course.”

"How generous," she replied as she made another turn down another alley. There might have been a few alarms going off in the former Kage's head -- where was she taking him? Was she being paid to do this? What restaurants were down this way. They were not headed towards the 'bad side of town' but they were headed for a more residential area it would seem. "Let me take you to one of my favorites," she claimed as they made their way into a more trafficked street. The buildings were rather far apart and despite being underground and in a rather arid region, these household had manicured lawns and fountains. The structures themselves needless and huge, the residents truly went out of their way to emulate the surface of a more temperate region here. There were a few shops, nothing outstanding. She was attracted to a little restaurant -- The Marionette. The irony of the fact that there were some creatures she had encountered recently that would be enamored by this place. They were, in a way inspiration for this trap.

The Marionette was a small cafe with a large picture window and a great green and red striped awning. The building seemed a bit old, out of place in such a wealthy region but in relatively good repair. Perhaps it was the 'charm' of such a place that kept this establishment afloat. Inside music would be playing, it was some sort of jaunty tune played on string instruments that Shiori did not recognize or particularly care for. It was just there for atmosphere one could say. Behind a wooden pedestal stood a middle aged man with an ashen complexion and sunken features. His hair was dark with salt and pepper walls. He appeared to be sorting through a stack of menus, two of which Shiori would pluck from the top of his stack without a word. "The wine here is to die for," she insisted as she ushered Hissori to a table, well a booth in the back. The tables seemed fairly simple, pedestal tables with simple round surfaces and cream colored linens. The flowers were dried arrangements in the center of the table and places were set at each table, most of them already filled. There were about a dozen others here, all of them quietly spooning soup from their bowls or bringing a glass of wine to their lips. Everyone was dressed rather traditionally, the men and women both. It felt as if they had went back in time several decades.

She would drop the menus she had collected onto the table and attempt to pull Hissori into the booth. "Sit-sit!" She would insist, the loudest voice in the establishment by far despite the fact that it was not much more than a loud whisper. "Have a glass," she was referring to the pair of empty glasses on the table and the bottle of corked wine. "I absolutely love the stuff."

OC: If you are a nerdy enough of a person you will know exactly what i am up to. If not... well... I will enjoy it then. =D

Green eyes would just glance down at the long elegant fingers that were playing with the hem of his kimono. He would not move or show really any signs of being afraid of a pretty lady touching him. Though his sensitive nose would take in her scent and committed it to memory. Something about this woman set off all sorts of alarms in the former Tsuchikage’s mind.

“I never said that.” The man said with a thick island accent that if you were from another world could swear was Jamaican. The man would smile a bit as he put an arm around her to pull her closer. The man was always one to trust his instincts, but Hissori was deciding for now to play the game that she wanted to play. If he was being tailed, he wanted to know by who. Was it Akkuma, sending some girl to try to seduce him? Probably not, Akkuma knew what he liked, and this girl was not it. Most likely, in Hissori’s mind it was the village itself sending a shinobi under cover to try to keep up with him, and to figure out what he was doing here. News had spread already of him retiring from Iwagakure years ago, and Hissori had been left alone as he nearly drank himself to death, maybe now though that he was putting his life back together, the man was starting to become a target again.

With a bit of a whistle Hissori would start to walk. He could tell by the icy blue eyes staring daggers at him. Hissori knew that Buru was not liking this game of cat and mouse he was playing. Probably when Hissori would get alone with the dog, he’d be told that he was spending to much time with Kinji, because this was defiantly something out of the spirits playbook.

“Suna, interesting you are named after the village you are staying in.” Hissori admitted, a tone slipping through his voice that he was rather skeptical of that being her real name. He would keep his eyes straight ahead as they walked. He could tell she was subtly patting down the wolfman for weapons. He didn’t have anything on him outside of a wallet and the pipe which she had seen him smoking, but like any inuzuka, Hissori’s weapons were his cloths, and his dog.

“Oh?” He said not pausing a bit as they turned the corner. He almost expected that he was about to jumped by some low rate thugs. Hissori was ready to dislodge himself from the women’s grasp if anything would go wrong, but it did not. Soon the pair was staring up at the Marionette sign as he seemed to just shrug it off. This was defiantly a set up in some way shape and form, but Hissori had so little information that he could not tell what he was getting himself in.

“Table for Two.” Hissori said the accent fading a bit to a bit more professional as Hissori moved to follow this old looking man. He would then be taken aback by Shiori forwardness taking two menus and starting towards a seat. Going and letting the women sit down first at the booth, a hand going to linger on her back feeling her muscle as the older gentlemen seemed to play the polite role of a father or older brother taking this woman out for some lunch to catch up. As he was pulled into the booth, the man would just get settled. Picking up the menu, the adult would start to read it over before peaking at the bottle.

“I am trying not to drink much anymore.” Hissori admitted truthfully with a kind smile. “Besides, this early in the afternoon, if I had a glass I will be laid up in my bed before the sun sets.” He joked though for some reason, the man guessed that something she was about to make him injest was drugged. Looking over the menu he hummed. “They seem to have some good steaks.” He mused to himself as he seemed focused on his meal for the day.

She patted him down a bit better than she absolutely had to. He had nothing useful or interesting on his person. She was not particularly interested with the human flesh beneath, fit men in a shinobi village were as commonplace as shuriken. She could hear his apprehension, his anticipation. It was his pounding heart, too subtle for most to hear -- much like the Izukuza's powerful sense of scent she could hear everything. The fibers of his clothes as they rub against his skin. The chruning of his gastric contents, the click of his veins. It was like a crowd shouting for her, these moments of relative silence.

He made a comment about her name. "Pretty sure they named the place after me," she commented. It sounded more egotistical than true, how ironic.

“Oh?”

"How pedestrian do you take me for?" She commented as his heart changed as they turned down an alleyway. It was anticlimactic of course, nothing happened to him. nothing would happen to him until they reached the small cafe. There was a clue regarding her intention if he paid attention to the sign: The Marionette. A small cafe with a large picture window and a great green and red striped awning. The building seemed a bit old, out of place in such a wealthy region but in relatively good repair. In a place like the Crystal District a place like this would be as common as muck. Inside, a jaunty tune played on string instruments played on a five-minute loop.

“Table for Two.” Hissori announced. The greeter unmoving stared forward, never answering Hissori's statement. Not bothering to lead them to their table, Shiori had already taken the menus and was going to seat herself. The air would smell stale, there would be a faint layer of dust on the table that she chose.

It would be such a cliche to drug his drink. To taint his meat. Things he was likely ready for, things he might even have a prepared antidote for. Poison was not reliable enough, there was no guarantee he would take it. There was no promise it would effect him the the way intended. He made a comment about not drinking. "I am sure that you can make an exception," she replied as she rested her finger over a bottle of red on the menu. She hated wine, tasted like rotten grapes. She hated liquor, it was like gasoline set ablaze running down the back of her throat. But she was pretending to be human and with that came the masquerade. "Besides, it is not like you are going to let your guard down enough to take a bite." Yes, she was calling him on his apprehension. "For all I know, you could have an iron liver and the constitution to match,"</B><i></i> she made a dismissive motion with her left hand.

She was prepared for him to flip the table, start an aggressive encounter or try to flee but she doubted that he would do either. After all, he was a practiced, wordly man and what was she? A possible assassin... gold digging whore... Hard to say, but she did not look like she had enough of an upper hand to feel apprehensive. Or did she?

Several months ago she had encountered a curious sight -- a boy with a love for machines. She had known several this life, Sousuke being notable for his eccentricities and a strange Kohonan enamored by a demon notable for his utilization. Puppets were a fascinating tool, they seemed almost human. They replaced the parts of humans. They improved them and their inadequate, insignificant nature. They were quite lovely. More lovely than these, simple dolls with basic repetitive motions. Over and over again they sip, but the glass does not empty. Over and over again their spoon dips into the clear broth, yet the vessel is endless. "Even in a crowd, we can be completely alone darling," she reassured him, a sardonic smile would eclipse her face as she attempted to place her hand on his. "So, just enjoy the date... tell me a bit about yourself," she cocked her head to the side. "You're a peacock," her eyes would scan over him as if she was appraising something. "And you don't dress like that if you don't want to be noticed. You don't follow a perfect stranger despite misgivings unless your curious." She raised her brow, "because you are not here because I am pretty." She was a damn goddess, but there was no accounting for taste and mechanically a change in bloodflow in men when they find something attractive. A change she did not identify in him. <B>"So now... we are going to play this out because I am curious too.. Tell me about yourself and don't bother lying. I will know the difference."<i></i>

Could she tell? Better than most, just like his nose could tell a lot about her health, her habits, her hormonal balance had she been human, what pets she had, perhaps even what she had for her last meal. The nose knows... just like her sonar sense of sound. What it knows, well there is no perfect system much like there is none for his sense of smell -- just a snapshot and a bit of guessing and logic but it was enough to play mind games.

“That would be a surprising feat for sure.” Hissori snorted out in a bit a sarcastic way as she finished her pat down of the former Kazekage. The Inuzuka would then straighten out his cloths again when they would enter the café and he’d get the table for two.

“I don’t take you for a simpleton at all, quite the Contrary.” The dog-whisperer would say simply as he continued to try to play his own cards close to his chest as he watched her briefly at the corner of his eye before staring at the man, registering his rather unflinching nature. As he walked around, the man would move to glance around the room once before moving to take a seat.

Settling into his seat, the middle age man would give a bit of an indecisive shrug and continue to stare at her. “I probably can if I wanted too.” Hissori would say as he watched her closely as he then gave a bit of a shrug as he took the drink menu from the center of the table, and scanned over it briefly. “Well… If we are drinking, do you think their Mojitos are of good quality here. Its been a while since I have been to the islands, and had a real good one.” Hissori would tell her as he settled it back. He would wonder how interested she’d be in taking the hint to get him one.

As the awkward silence of the pair sitting in the café of puppets as he leaned back in the old leather booth, letting himself get comfortable. Hissori was always willing to play a bit of a game with people and living dangerously seemed to be only way he knew. His eyes were transfixed on a couple to the side of them as he watched them. With a long sigh, the former Kage would just lean back a more before shrugging his shoulders, cracking his neck and then leaning forward, placing his chin in both of his hands.

“They’re almost lifelike you know.” The man deadpanned lowly as he gave a glance back Shiori for a moment before returning his gaze towards the couple across the room. “Truth be told, I’ve always been a bit fansicated by human puppets, it seems like such a dark art, but in reality who would want to live forever?” Hissori said in almost a dreamy tone as he leaned over picking up the lunch menu and starting to read it over just scanning it. “Is that soup any good?” Hissori would ask. “I’d assume that they at least have real food here yeah? Or really, you have gone and set this all up for me it seems, so why don’t you pick what I eat.” He said as he placed the menu down.

Hissori would chuckle deeply as he took out his opium style pipe and went to light it, taking a long inhale before blowing it in the air as if he was in deep thought before he shrugged his shoulders again. “You seem to know a lot about me. Enough to come track me down and bring me here. So why don’t you just tell me what you know, and I’ll fill you in on what you missed Miss?” Hissori would reply in an all to friendly way.

It was nothing more than a facade. These stone walls, a hollow shell. she had sucked the soul out of this place when she killed the proprietors -- an elderly man and his wife. Looking at them one would have thought they were very much in love, but in those last moments she saw the truth. They both wanted only to survive, even if it was at the expense of their life-long partner. They both died so it would never matter. Killing was easy, living was what was truly hard. What replaced them and all of the service staff was a hunk of wood painstakingly carved until it resembled a face, the detail was extraordinary but she could take no credit for the effort. She paid well for these faces and these clothes, goods were almost as easy to buy as people.

The mannequins were a part of the masquerade, this setting nothing more than a rat trap. Hissori was not the first that she had taken here and it was likely that he would not be the last either. It was a reliable way to get a meal, her hunger insatiable. Restaurants were a curious thing, a place where humans gathered often in pairs or small groups to mindlessly consume whatever was placed in front of them. Trusting that nothing they were given was tainted. Trusting that the doors would not lock behind them once they entered the main space. Humans were such trusting herd animals.

“Well… If we are drinking, do you think their Mojitos are of good quality here. Its been a while since I have been to the islands, and had a real good one.”

"What is a moh-he-toe?" The words clumsily came out of her mouth in a jumbled garbled mess. She had no idea if a 'Mojito' was even on the menu, the menu was not something she made. It predated her holding of this café. Was this some sort of cheesy island-themed chain restaurant? She had no damn clue. Suna might have been many things, but well-read was not among them. Reading was for those whose lives were so short that they had to transcribe their learning to paper to disseminate what they knew to future generations. She was well-versed in Runic Terran, in fact better than most current scholars but Runic was a language spoken more than written. In a time of men it is no wonder that the language had all but died out in this modern age. Ancients had little need to write, although Satoru was the enduring exception. "Likely terrible she admitted,"</B><i></i> this time it was no lie. If a mojito was on the menu, whatever terrible concoction that was mixed in the backroom would be stomach churning.

There was an awkward pause between them. Her eyes scanned him, there was a compulsion to strike him down where he sat. She could almost smell the oil burning as the gears in his head turned. He was going to make a fuss.

“They’re almost lifelike you know.”

Her hand clenched and the marionettes fell. All of them did. "They were expensive," she exhaled. Her weight shifted to her right side, he did not need both legs. In fact he did not need either leg.

“Truth be told, I’ve always been a bit fansicated by human puppets, it seems like such a dark art, but in reality who would want to live forever?”<i></i>

But she did not rip into him like an unchained wild animal. Her eyes widened and her jaw slackened. That was what he took away from this? It made her job easier but made her a bit uneasy. Why was he not uneasy? This would have been a good moment for a theological debate but soup was more important.

“Is that soup any good?”

The fuck?

“I’d assume that they at least have real food here yeah? Or really, you have gone and set this all up for me it seems, so why don’t you pick what I eat.”

"You..." her voice trailed off, for a moment she was at a loss for words. "You have a knack for defusing the drama of a kidnapping," she sighed. "But if you are not going to make this difficult for me, then sure."<i></i> She shook her head, a tone of confusion and annoyance as her fingers moved. If food was going to keep him happy, it would be easier and less messy than a dismemberment. In the end she was rather pragmatic. If there was an easier way to meet her objective, she was not going to make things harder for herself than she needed to. <B>"I only need you for your body," she admitted. "So food and alcohol," she clarified as her fingers danced and one of the marionettes would pull itself from the floor and saunter away as if nothing happened.

In the Next Room: The space was not particularly large, too much upkeep and it was covered in a thick blanket of dust. Nobody actually eats here, they just die here. She never touched the alcohol or the food for that matter, but oddly enough the refrigerator was filled with fresh meat. She had no use for either the alcohol or meat or whatever those decayed remnants of vegetables were packed tightly in the back of the ice box. Alcohol simply smelled terrible and tasted worse. Food gave no sustenance and the effort involved in making anything remotely pleasurable was simply not worthwhile to Ancient.

In the back room there would be bottles lined up in a neat row - some filled with amber fluid. Some clear. Many had large brassy or black colored labels with large words in cursive script written across the face. She could not read it even if it was her eyes rather than her sonar that had granted her vision. The cork would be released from a single random bottle with a loud *pop* and in a large mixing bowl half the bottle's contents would be poured. Tequila ten ounces. Then another bottle, this one was already half empty so the remains would be poured into the bowl. Not that she knew it but it was brandy. The bowl would then be lifted by the mannequin's hands and moved side to side and the contents would slosh about. With the upward twitch of a finger she would gauge the weight of the fluid in the bowl. It was about 14 ounces. She was not certain that would be enough. A third bottle, smaller than the others but full. It had a screw top that she would twist off and then pour the contents into the bowl. It was only 6 ounces but it seemed sufficient. A bowl of liver-toxic fluid, something humans recreationally consumed for whatever reason. It needed color. Fruit perhaps? juice, a bottle of cranberry juice that was long ago forgotten and now fermented making it wine. Close enough.

As for the foot food, the puppet sawed off a limb. At least these remains finally had some sort of use. Then a vat of oil brought to a boil. The oil would bubble violently as the heat was applied and the meat was relinquished. Then greens, the potted daisy plant was good enough. a knife from the index finger cut through the stalks of the underfed plants and they would fall into the wooden hand of the puppet. A meal, kinda. Meat. Green. A mixed drink of indeterminate name.

Presentation was the final consideration. The salad bowl of booze poured into a fancy-looking glass. The small ones would not hold the contents. Well, there was one that would, it was larger than the rest and it even looked fancy. From the heated oil would come some charred meat. A pile of green sticks. A large vase glass of alcohol. Good enough she hypothesized.

Back with Hissori: Shiori's fingers would dance about, controlling the absentee puppet. "There is meat from the last few," she reasoned "and they never live long enough to have a drink." If only she sold this meat she might be able to make a 'honest' living. Yes, she was feeding him human flesh, daisy stalks and pretty much whatever alcohol she could find mixed together. If it was not for the fact that Hissori was an alcoholic, the contents of the vase he would be soon served would likely put him into liver failure.

“You seem to know a lot about me. Enough to come track me down and bring me here. So why don’t you just tell me what you know, and I’ll fill you in on what you missed Miss?”

"I have wanted you for a long time," she admitted. "Being demon-bait is worthwhile," she was of course referring to Akkuma. Their relationship was undefined, but she saw a rise within the demon when Hissori was mentioned. "I thought Akkuma was trying to kill you back in Soons Haven, however... he seems to have an affection for you." He was angry when she brought him up. Demons don't care for anything besides themselves, they were simply incapable. They had the depth of a mud puddle. "I simply need you for your body, well... you voice might be enough," she concluded as she pulled an earbud from her cleavage and she would compress the power button. It was already set to Akkuma's assumed frequency. With a lazy underhanded motion tossed it in front of Hissori. "Call Akkuma, ask him to come. Tell him everything if you want, that it is a trap. That I might hurt you. That I am looking for him." It did not matter how much or how little he shared, she just wanted Akkuma to know that Hissori was with her. That should be enough. The demon thought with his dick, she did not want to even think about their relationship. Gross -- demon sex. "You can call me Suna... Shiori, my name will be grossly irrelevant to you if you survive."

The puppet would meander from the backroom soon thereafter. In one hand a plate of blackened meat and green stalks. In the other hand a vase of pink fluid sloshing over the rim.

TLDR: Headset on, she is trying to call Akkuma.

Akkuma sat back in his chair sitting back on one of his personal bottles from his best brewer when his headset buzzed to life. "Hello? You've reached Miroku Akkuma. What is it you need?" he would ask in a business-like manner. All while staring at the results of the sample of blood he'd received from Ruin. It was unlike any other in his archives & would no doubt prove beneficial to his goals. But he couldn't shake what he saw in the flames nor the mans fascination with 'Rioshi' or as he now knew her Mother Suna. Everyday he spent in this village he found himself more in love with it. Here there seemed to be the last true remnants of shinobi as he knew them to be. There were such dangers that they faced on a daily basis that they truly not only endured but forced themselves to adapt.

Little did he know that today would be the day that he would be able to balance the scales of Fate with a few of his interests if he played his cards right. But for now he was leaning back in his chair awaiting for whoever had called him & so rudely delayed in revealing why they had done so. Not that he really minded the Sage always enjoyed a surprise so he would wait & drink more of his liquor. He'd been busy...re-educating his greatest work yet. Soon Sunagakure would be exposed to another of his masterpieces. It would only be the first of his steps to cement himself & his people into this village eternally. Before long every shinobi would know his name & clan. Then he would perhaps be able to rest but until then the shinobi would continue with his schemes.

Soon his newest gifts would be tested something that the Sage would take great joy in. But whether or not he would be capable of pulling off one of his greatest stunts yet would be determined by the Fates. Although he did have Pandemonium's blessing & so long as he had souls he would be capable of inhuman feats. They would realize the last semblances of his humanity had been given away. The demon now a shell for the energy of chaos itself, sustained by the souls of his victims. A perpetual source of entertainment to his Queen. In return he & his favored could be blessed should they provide adequate entertainment.

"Hello? You've reached Miroku Akkuma. What is it you need?"

"Mmm... you mostly," a female voice would announce from the other end. There was a blanket of static but the voice was distinctly female.

"The Marionette on Cobble Way,"</B><i></i> she announced without context. She wanted him to come running, but he needed a destination.

<B>"You see, I have your lover... brother... former associate... friend," she had no idea what this man was to Akkuma, only that he had significance. The rise she got from him was enough to know that.

"Ii Hissori, former Tsuchikage. Present..." she eyed him over.

"Well, I am not entirely certain of what he is now," she would wave her hand in Hissori's direction not that it could be seen by the demon on the other end.

"A dignitary perhaps," the peacock was showing his feathers this time around.

"Not that such things matter to me. But of course titles and power would be all a demon could recall. Although yo might remember him better as the man you failed to assassinate," by now Akkuma's mental gears were likely turning. Her voice was far from significant but it was unwavering and fearless, however that was far from enough to glean a name or a face.

"We fought over him before, years ago in fact. I always found it odd how you tried to kill the man, yet your passions screamed otherwise," she was utterly calm as she spoke to him. She wondered if he was coming. If he was on the move. She had already told him where to go, The Marionette.

"I forget the name by which you knew me those years ago in that cell when they took my plaything away. You, like all demons look best in chains," she continued to talk while her fingers danced and the marionettes busied themselves.

"And as much as I enjoy my leisure with your... well whatever he is to you and his canine companion, I would rather have a playtime with the demon the Toraono family has protected for so long."

The demon froze at the words as the familiarity of the voice pushed the memories of the past into sudden light. He cleaned his hands before walking down to one of the isolation chambers he stored his failed experiments in. Those too dangerous to let live. If it was really her he would need yet to claim more power for himself. Her words instructions to a destination. An obvious trap why else would she contact him? As he entered the room he stored the poor being at his mercy he moved to a console. Finger hovering over a console as he debated his will clashing with him in a battle of what he should do. Her next words made his heart begin to race as he activated the console & he watched the overdose levels of narcotics flow into the subject. A brief look of bliss washing over his face as he fell into nothingness. The light gone from his eyes now as they looked back out to the world. An end to the suffering it'd undergone while he'd been busy gathering data on the mutation.

Stepping forward he held out a hand as a pale blue orb floated from the mans chest into his grasp. Grasping it he quickly devoured the soul as he listened to the identity of the one she had. A wide thin smile appeared over the demons face as he heard the name. Could it be? Had she tracked him down? It seemed she had not forgotten him. Laughter. Filled with a menacing joy as if all the demons birthdays had come at once. "Rioshi. Neophyte. It would depend on which of our encounters you would wish to reminisce..." he would say in a tone that was almost intimate. Akkuma did so enjoy it when others worked against him. Particularly when it played into his hands so perfectly. "I am surprised though...how you must've resented losing your position among the Anbu. All because they chose a demon over you...for a being like yourself that must sting." he would say in a tone that he knew would be far to intimate for her liking.

"I have a gift for you too. Another being with crimson hair...with dreams of setting the world aflame. Yet he seems to have an odd fascination with you. So eagerly blundering through the village in search of you. Even more willing to bargain himself into my debt to find you..." he chuckled a devilishly monstrous sound. "What was it he said...'She is the origin of my power, through her I can do what must be done.' Quite the devoted being you have...if only he'd known he was walking right into my clutches." with those words he would hang up the headset before quickly moving through & out of his laboratory. It would take him a matter of mere moments to arrive at the scene, while on his way he opened up his channel that linked to Ruin. "The Marionette on Cobble Way. Begin your approach but do not engage until the conflict is resolved." he said in a tone that suggested this was not negotiable. Time would tell if the Anbu would hold up to his end of the bargain.

Those emerald orbs rested on the building that housed his old traitorous comrade & the being who'd finally decided to give him some practice on the field once more. For it had been many years since he'd enjoyed the thrills of someone trying to summon chaos into his life. Only to find that the being thrived within such situations. Stepping into towards the door & with a wave of his hand a low level wind jutsu would slam the doors ajar. His silhouette in the doorway as those emerald eyes surveyed the scene before him. At his arrival there would be what could only be described as a pressure felt by those around him. Chakra manipulation would become harder to those who weren't naturally resilient to such energies. Walking in his gaze slid to the two beings "Fancy seeing the two of you here." he'd say with a flash of that devilish grin of his as Akkuma strode into the building. While he looked calm his senses were all too alive for he was well aware he'd just walked into a trap. But he was particularly eager to hear what his rival had to say. After all he'd surely left her with some surprising & concerning news, little did he know just how surprising if she'd pieced the two together.

“Are they wooden, human, or fiber glass?” Hissori would ask as the former strawberry blonde man as he glanced over at the women. The questioning had gotten exactly what he wanted. The women let all the puppets stop their movements and the girl seemed incredibly angry by it.

“What did you expect me to be scared and afraid as if I did not know you were being kidnapped?” Hissori replied chuckling softly. “You were very obvious in your attempts to kidnap me.” He said as he looked at the blonde hair women leaning back. “I was just hoping my kidnapper was a woman of your word.” Hissori admitted as listened to why he needed her.

Watching one of the puppets get up from the table and disappear in the back, Hissori would sigh disappointedly. “I thought you’d have at least some in the back cooking real food and making real drinks.” Hissori would say with a bit of a pout. Just from knowing that the puppet was making the drinks and it was an inexperienced puppet user, Hissori knew he was in for ban food. Leaning back into seat, the man would rock just a bit as he waited for whatever was going to come.

“Should have just put out an ad to find me, I would have come out of my apartment.” Hissori said subtly teasing her about the poster she had made up and displayed around bars in the village. “To be honest, I was really more trying to deal with him, than him deal with me. I probably overacted a bit.” Hissori said as he scratched at his chin looking at him blinking some. A faint blush crossed the medics face as he was told he was needed for his body. “If only women would tell me they wanted for my body more often.” Hissori joked in a playful way finishing it off with a wink. Looking down at the headset that was tossed at him. “You know I really haven’t actually talked to Akkuma in years right?” Hissori said as he placed down the headset as his food came.

“Thank you.” He told the puppet as he stared at the food in front of him. A scowl would cross over the human’s face as he poked at the cooked human meat. “Well I guess at these thank you for telling me its human meat.” Hissori said as he poked the meal that was placed in front of him with a fork. Gagging just a bit, the older man looked at Shiori in a bit of shock.

“You know, you are telling me that I am taking the fun out of kidnapping, you are doing the same.” Hissori remarked and he stood up stretching. “You have the alcohol right there. Let me teach you at least how to make a mojito.” Hissori would comment as he started to the back to look for some things.

Hissori inuzaka ears would listen as he disappeared into the kitchen. Of course, the man would be able to hear her as he grinned. “Oh Honey, you defiantly couldn’t touch me if I really wanted it.” Hissori said from the backroom. The medic was starting to search for stuff to make room for either something to eat, or stuff to mix in for drinks. “Oi is that Akkuma?” Hissori called from the kitchen as he pushed part of the body out of the way.

“Can you ask him to bring like Duck breast or something to eat? I’ll make use all food.” The man said in an aloof fashion as he made a bit a barking noise of rejoicing as the male found some mint. “found it.” Hissori said as he started walk back towards the bar. Unware of what Shiori had just said to Akkuma, Hissori would wave Shiori to the bar.

“Come on let me teach you at least how to make one decent mixed drink the next time you try to have a conversation with a human.” Hissori would said as he dropped the bushel of mint on the bar top. Whether Shiori would get up and come over, Hissori would start to make a classic mojito.
Turning his back on the ancient, Hissori would grab the rum from the bar as well as a can of club soda and three skinny glasses. Before turning back around. “First, a Mojito is only made from one alcohol, rum.” He said pouring rum into the all three, making one a bit stronger than the other. “Then we take mint.” He said as he held up the mint leaves and put a decent handful into each glass, before starting to hum.

“Now take some sugar and muddle the mint in the glasses.” Hissori told Shiori as he continued to put on a show. Pounding the leaves in the sugar, and then added in ice to the tanks the man offered Shiori a wide smile.

“Finally, we finish the drinks with club soda.” Hissori said as he popped the three cans of club soda starting to fill up the glasses. Handing Shiori the drink and taking a sip of his own. A much wider smile on his face as Akkuma seemed to cautiously walk into the house

“Hey Akkuma! Did you bring the Duck Breast?” Hissori said as he held up one of the glasses of the demon as he continued to smile. “How have you been its been years?” The man asked a hopeful look on his face as he hoped that the demon had brought him some food.

What does one do during their downtime from Anbu missions, tending to a sibling, looking for trouble or whatever else a Flame Court Hybrid might do? Well we won't get to find out today, as whatever Kaen had been happening to be doing this day and time would be interrupted. But it was not an unwelcome interruption, but one he had been looking forward to for quite some time. Finally Akkuma's end of the bargain would come to fruition and Kaen would once again be reunited with his Goddess of the Sands, The Mother of Suna, Shiori herself. From deep within his pockets a radio would crackle to life as a familiar voice resounded outwards, slightly muffled from layers of clothing. "The Marionette on Cobble Way. Begin your approach but do not engage until the conflict is resolved." There would be no time wasted, no drop of chakra inappropriately used in this moment of transition. Whatever it was that Kaen had been doing was abruptly halted and Kaen was already out the door.

He made no response, there was none needed. Additionally you could never be too careful as to who might be listening in on radio frequencies, no matter how secure Akkuma thought it would be. Should anyone arrive and question his close proximity to whatever situation was about to happen, he could simply say it was official business that he was investigating. As if propelled by forces higher than himself, Kaen rocketed across the Sunan village, a faint trail of steam wisping off of him as he used his chakra to propel himself further and faster. In no time at all he had arrived, landing in an alleyway across the street, Kaen casually walked out and sat at a table just outside a conveniently located restaurant. It sat across the street from the Marionette like a mirror. Picking up a newspaper that just happened to be on the table he sat at, he pretended to read its contents. "Hello sir, can I start you out with a drink?" A sly smile crept from behind the black and white newspaper, Kaen's eyes locked with the waitress's. "Yes, that sounds lovely. How about a nice glass of Aloe." The young lady would nod. "Of course, i'll be right back with that." With a single hand the red headed ancient would summon forth a miniature eye comprised of grains of sand that compressed themselves into an almost crystal like structure. [Crystal Eye] With his other free hand he would focus and activate another useful skill. [Snapshot] Still pretending to read his paper, a single eye was closed as it took in the information that was fed to him through his crystal eye. He would manipulate it to hover across the street to the Marionette and gaze through the window. Inside he could see Akkuma, a strawberry-blonde man and a woman. The woman was blonde, but she was facing away from the window so he could not see her face. Someone of Shiori's caliber and status as Queen of the Ancients was well practiced at suppressing her aura, so Kaen could not tell if it was her or not. For now he would watch, as Akkuma had requested. He did not want to mess up this most fortunate day.

OC: I am awful. T_T Some site stuff pulled me away from anything remotely creative, sorry.

IC:

Hissori was too picky to enjoy her cooking. Pfff~

This would prove to be a strange scene, a casual kidnapping if there was such a thing. There was no force and the implied threat seemed blasé and detached. She seemed content to let him meander about, the Tsuchikage was complacent in his role. In reality they were both over-confident, she did not consider him a threat and the human saw Shiori as better companion than assailant. She gave Akkuma a call, Hissori explained the situation between them as that of a lover's quarrel rather than an attempt on each other's life. It was brow-raising and a bit disgusting. She considered human relationships disgusting on the virtue of the intimate exchanges, how fleshy vectors were used transmit their gooey spark of life. There was no magic, no beauty in their clumsy, grunting displays of affection or lust. Involving a demon seemed to make it all the worse. She wondered which one would be the mother and how the birthing process would transpire between two men. The concept of fornicating for the pleasure of it was not even a consideration for the Ancient.

Why-- Just why.

Hissori interjected n the background something about her not being able to touch him unless he wanted it. She cupped her hand over the mouthpiece and mouthed 'I so could!'

Akkuma did not even ask for proof. He simply took her word for the fact that she had taken Hissori. In fact, he did not even seem to care. Had she known that the demon would have believed whatever she had said or he would have accepted any reason, she would have sought him out years ago. Not that the passage of these years bothered her, her perception of time was 'wrong' because of her exceptionally long life span. It was as if months passed in the blink of an eye. She felt as if international cooperative examination that Akkuma has spoiled by being a demon had only transpired a few weeks ago but it was in fact about eight years ago. Madness. Of course Akkuma poorly described a boy that might have meant more to her than Hissori meant to Akkuma had he clearly described him. She had no idea who Akkuma was talking about, there was a small detail that the demon did not know about her -- colors mean very little to her (Hashigaki). The world is mostly a shade of grey to her, her ears a keener tool of observation than her eyes she would not know Kaen by visual description. In fact, she knew next to nothing about the boy less his hybrid nature and his youth which would have been squandered in this decade unless her had taken his fill and slowed the process to a near halt. Ancients did not see children in the same way that humans did, their children were actually capable and proficient. There was no need to guide them, to burden oneself with the needs of a child. They were grown the day that they were born, but there was still a sense of community and family within a Court, a safety one felt among their peers.

“Oi is that Akkuma?”</B><i></i>

Her hand back over the mouthpiece she hissed back at him. <B>"I am trying to menace!" After a moments pause, "...and yes it is the ribald demon." Hissori wanted duck breast, after all he was doing lord knows what in the room adjacent. She was not entirely certain what a duck was. She would lift her hand from the microphone long enough to mutter, "the Tsuchikage wants a duck udder." She wondered if that was a northerner version of the Sunan crow, if she was not mistaken duck was some sort of fowl or poultry.

Kaen was of course no peer of hers, Suna had reached beyond her portfolio and stole something precious from Homura. It was something she hardly realized all these centuries, had the Lord she would have done this centuries ago after their kind was eradicated. She might not be able to reforge a Lord, but she could rebuild the courts. It was a notion of utter madness, making an Ancient from the threads they had left in the tribes of men. Some through carnal pleasures and some through cruel manipulations in human biology, Homura might be dead but his diluted legacy lived on. She recognized this in the Kirishii, in first and second generation hybrids. But overtime the humanity washed away the Ancient glory, less the rare infinitesimal thread here and there that was near indescribable. It was Kazuki who had stumbled onto a way cut out that makes a man human. His nature, increasingly like that of a Deep Court Ancient yet this oddity was not documented in his heritage, when or where the Deep Court had injected its legacy into his genealogy was likely remote. Yet he demonstrated traits characteristic of the court. It was uncanny truly, but then she understood why. It was his taste for souls. Ancients did not have genetics, they were pure energy manifested. What makes an Ancient an Ancient could be found in that core essence humans call a soul. The gains for men insignificant, but the gains for his Ancient nature were great. It was likely that not every soul he partook in had a hidden Deep Court legacy, but there were many that did. Time and the spawning of each generation allowed for the dissemination of these fine, rare threads throughout Wind Country and obviously beyond since he was a generational heir of Kohonagakure long before he found his allegedly older roots in Sunagakure. It was the consumption that was causing his humanity to wither and like it did for Kazuki it could also for Kaen she reasoned. That was why she told him to eat.

The demon was coming, that was all that mattered. As for his possession of a ginger pyromancer, she did not know that he was referring to Kaen. She did not even know that was his name. But she did know that Akkuma had it and she wanted it. It was petty but Shiori was a capricious and petty woman, she wanted it because Akkuma had it and apparently from his tone it was something she might want. He already had her at the fact he gleaned some value in someone foolish enough to forge a deal with a demon at whatever crossroads they were at.

Akkuma was coming. That was good enough.

She eyed Hissori, he was fiddling around with the bar expressing victory when he found some green things she did not recognize (mint). He was apparently entertaining himself with mixing a Moe-He-Toe. Whatever it was, he was certainly excited regarding it. At least he was entertained. She approached the excited former village leader with an expression of befuddlement. "You realize that the demon is enroute," she reminded him. Hissori was too involved in his drink mixing, she listened with mild curiosity as he "mudded" the drink -- odd. There was rum, it had a strong scent. "Is that poison?" She inquired, then he added the leaves. "Is that poison?" She asked as he dropped the leaves into the drink. Then the sugar. "Is that poison?" Were any of these components poison? Then there was the club soda, she did not even bother asking by this point as she frowned at the concoction. It was bubbly leaf juice in a strong bitter fluid that might be embalming fluid for all she knew. And Hissori turned up his nose to HER cooking!

She accepted the drink, even if it was likely going to be terrible. After she saw Hissori take a sip, she would as well. It... did not taste as bad as it smelled. She took another sip, well gulp.

With a violent gust of wind, the doors were forced ajar. Then enter Akkuma. since their last meeting he turned into a furry. She would eye him over, dark hair now replaced with... well the author was too lazy to update his avatar so.... something. He was getting Older? Uglier? Longer, narrower features. Emaciated. Time was obviously unkind to the demon and apparently some of his fetishes had caught up with him. "Rough decade?" She took another gulp of the moe-he-toe.

"Fancy seeing the two of you here."

“Hey Akkuma! Did you bring the Duck Breast?”

“How have you been its been years?”

At least someone was glad to see him. Hell, she was glad to see him also. She had waited years for this opportunity. "You got old," she complained as she lifted herself to sit on the bar. "And... I thought you made deals with someone I care about. I have not held any affection towards a human in nearly two decades... Curious."

Note: Unaware of Kaen's presence. Kaen is from another Court [Flame] and she has no IC reason to be looking for someone monitoring the interaction here. In fact, she has too much pride to think it would be relevant for anyone to watch. A crime against a demon is like a crime against vipers when their heads are chopped off. Merely a safety precaution.

There was a brief muffled exchange that confirmed that Hissori was indeed in the presence of the being. But from what he could determine there did not seem to be a great deal of urgency. Not that this meant a great deal it was quite likely that Hissori was too drunk to realize the danger he faced. Although truth be told Akkuma doubted very little that the man was in danger & had the feeling he was the only focus of her activities. How curious she'd been so obsessed with him. But then again he had cost her a place inside the Anbu. A position that would have been undoubtedly valuable to her if she'd been able to keep it. Perhaps he should set that task to Ruin since he was so eager to please his Queen. Silence would be the only response she got for her words for Akkuma's mind was already a maelstrom of thought. With a click of the headset he would speak into it. "Your Queen has requested some duck breast for her hostage. Perhaps you could retrieve them for her. No doubt my business with your Queen will be completed by then. No matter what you choose I'm sure you'll enjoy the show." he said with a chuckle disconnecting his headset after all what kind of devilish savior would he be if he couldn't organize such requests?

*After Entering*

His unearthly green eyes would not shift their gaze from her as he spoke, he'd respond in order. "Hissori. It has & yet I've not heard any word from you in all this time." there was a slight inflection of betrayal in his tone. The memory of the Tsuchikage standing against him was still fresh in the demons mind. "Perhaps I have...the years have given me the time to truly accept what I am." he would calmly say with a smile that was somewhere more chilling then his once monstrous grin. "Human?" he'd repeat the word in an almost questioning tone with a chuckle as he waved his hand & used kinetic energy to bring himself a drink. "Least that's something about you that hasn't changed Hissori...still a craftsman when it comes to your drinks." he'd give a nod of his head although his eyes never left the being that had invested so much time into getting him here.

"Did you really think I'd restrict myself to mortals? That would be a great underestimation on your part...after all I'm a demon dear. I keep all sorts of company...most curious of these are the poor beings who don't seem to truly belong in the realms of man. Too inhuman to feel as one of them but too human to belong with those of their true nature. It seems I'm not the only person in Wind Country to have tried to see just how compatible human genetics can be...either that or perhaps someone does not share your sentiment when it comes to acts of the flesh." he would say calmly his eyes watching her features & reaction as he spoke. Did she understand what his suspicions were? A thin wide smile spreading across his face as those pupils widened with excitement. She would be able to hear his heart pulsing within his body. But most curious of all is that she would feel those souls within him. Yes, not just one soul but multiple. Whatever Akkuma had become he had transcended his former form. The energy of these souls could still be felt they had not been truly destroyed, it was as if they were trapped within the demon. For what purpose Shiori may be able to guess, if she could how would she react knowing the path he now walked. Perhaps most unsettling of all for the Ancient would be that Akkuma supposedly possessed something he thought she would place great value upon.

So close to him there would be no tells of deceit. He would seem to almost be ecstatic as if he expected for her to go through a great deal of shock at his reveal. Standing there he would withdraw a vial of blood from his pocket & toss it lightly to her. He'd run the tests he needed to on this sample. "That's a sample from the being...most curious wouldn't you agree?" the blood within the vial would make the container almost unbearably hot, for such a small amount of within the container there was a surprising amount of weight within it. He would sip at his drink as he allowed what he'd said to sink into the Ancient. Allow her to read his body language, that confidence & excitement in his tone of voice. Everything pointed to his truly believing that he had someone who was important to her, someone she desperately needed. "To think you'd been so close to him in the Anbu & yet had no idea..." he would say with a mocking tone to his voice. Akkuma was gloating & he knew it would only had salt to the wound for the Ancient being. It would seem Akkuma had been very busy "I admit it was even hard for me to accept the possibility of such subjects...yet here we stand." a chuckle of almost crazed laughter would begin to build from him. If she made any move to strike him or hit him he would not move for any actions would only confirm his already growing belief.

Demons and Ancients do not mix, they never had for a variety of reasons. There had never been an Ancient-Demon mix-breed and that was not because such a disgusting union has never been made before but rather because their natures were so diametrically opposed that one would devour and ultimately destroy the other. Like a twin that consumes their brother whilst they share the same cramped quarters. There would only be one and this remained true to this day, at least for one with a memory as long as hers. Capricious and quick to enrage, Suna represented order and rules and Akkuma did not. In fact Akkuma represented the opposite of everything the Queen was, he was a body of chaos and gluttony. That was the line that utterly divided them, not their flesh or their ideals but rather the very essence of what they were. Yes, Akkuma did cost her station in the ANBU branch, but it was worthwhile to hurt him. The simple fact of the matter was, she simply wanted to hurt him. He did not have to wrong her, his greatest sin was existing. His venereal disease riddled flesh and his outsider status among the human shinobi people that merely tolerated him was hardly anything worthy of jealousy or ire. If it was not for the Toraono's honored status and the implicit risk of harming him so directly, drawing him to a dark alleyway just to cause him pain would have been just as likely. There was no amount of friendship or common need that could change what he was, but she was pragmatic enough to not run blindly into the storm of calamitous intent without a means of egress.

Enter the demon. Suna crinkled her nose as the sight of him and felt something churn within her where her stomach should be. There was something especially revolting about a demon, it was as if she let a flea-covered stray into her pristine home. Yet she invited him, it was nothing that a hose could not try to wash away. He addressed Hissori and she gave him a sideways glance, they did know each other in some sort of casual context. It was a truth she long knew, she remembered the bubbling enmity she felt from him the moment she brough forth his name. Told him of his rancorous crime. "Funny, how casual you are with the man you tried and failed to assassinate,"</B><i></i> she commented. <B>"Of course," she shrugged. "His charm is disarming," she admitted without looking in his direction. Despite the fact that her gaze was fixed on the demon she was listening to the human's movements -- wondering what it was that he made with such bitter, saccharine fluids. "But it hardly explains your failure in terms of endurance and brawn, less you were to suggest that you... a demon... was weaker than a man," she was searching for a festering wound of his to poke. To draw him out in a moment of reckless rage. She had a few thoughts on what could rile the demon, but that depended on how human the monster was.

She returned his smile with a cold expression of her own. She always did pick lovely forms, there was something disarming about a beautiful woman. Akkuma took a drink, she was disappointed that the bitterness was not toxic to him either as she took another large drink from her glass. It tasted good, even if it the odious scent smelled dreadful. Akkuma complimented Hissori on his drink, this was probably the only detail they would ever agree on. "It is actually quite good," she commented with a nod. When the other humans were gone and dead, she would keep him at least for this drinks. "Can you make more?" She enjoyed the floating feeling the drink left in her head, it almost made her feel giddy.

It seems I'm not the only person in Wind Country to have tried to see just how compatible human genetics can be...either that or perhaps someone does not share your sentiment when it comes to acts of the flesh."

Akkuma claimed and Suna raised an arched brow at him. What in the bloody, fiery pits of wretched depths was he talking about. She had already finished her drink, it was down to alcohol-flavored ice and had another drink made its way into her hand, she would take a long sip from it before she placed it down on a flat surface next to her. "That is disgusting," she commented, a tone of complaint embedded into her words. "Fucking you would be like fucking a cow," the comment came out crass but it barely reflected her disgust with the concept that the demon had found a lover among the inhumans that might have been, but probably was not willing. "What did you find... a blind Kirishii, always hard as stone if I recall the quip," she continued to think. "Or the fang-touched nomads," from a stone to a dog. She was not entirely certain which was worse, fucking a rock or a beast or screwing a demon. Actually, she was certain, the demon was the worst of the choices.

She bared her teeth, "generations removed and without pride... I am not astonished," she confessed as she approached the demon. She stopped suppressing her aura, it started as a low whisper. The voices of the many, chattering and screaming, some singing. There was a hundred-million lives just beneath the porcelain-like surface of the the Ancient in his humanoid shell, hardly a drop of them taken these past few decades but she had eons to collect before this day. She was hardly a saint, despite the wild and unsubstantiated claims in some texts that described her as a benevolent goddess rather than a powerful queen. "Perhaps you found affection in the Unbent, do any of those even exist any longer?" she mused as her ears twitched and the aura she had suppressed grew louder, there was a breeze that seemed to blow off of her as she moved. The corners of her mouth twitched, "or is this just an urbane means of claiming that you and your hand have had plenty of quality time together?" She eyed him over, "After-all, you're not even a pure-breed yourself are you. A mutt what have you..." She found a table near the half-breed, "I suppose it would become your life's work to find a way to make bastards such as yourself more acceptable." She would sit on the table, there were a pair of puppets in either chair pretending to eat from empty bowls of soup. Well, they were before she ceased control over them. "How terrible that must feel, to be half-vermin and half livestock... never belonging fully and truly in either place."

She let out a laugh, "but I assure you... your hand cannot get pregnant and if you could find an inhuman that lacked pride enough to have you," she shrugged[ "or it was not of her own volition," she conceded "you would know that the resultant spawn is either... or... in terms of an Ancient heritage." She waved her hand, "unlike some races that for some undecorous reason can mix, a demon and a superior race," her hand on her chest "will always remain one... OR... the other, never both."

Of course, she missed Akkuma's point entirely in her gloating. Akkuma had one of her toys and he was learning. There were a great number of secrets Suna was unwilling to share, but there were a few secrets she was willing to shed because this was just too funny. She could hear them writhing inside of him, souls. That was what first drew her to Kazuki. She could hear them cry. She could hear them scream. But Kazuki was different, despite the fact that he was still wrong. He was part Ancient, by some remote happenstance in his distant history an Ancient had procreated with one of his ancestors and while generations removed him from that disgusting insult there was a great deal of hidden Ancient genetics within him. Enough for her to wonder how many generations removed that depraved incident transpired. Not that it mattered greatly, Kazuki was easy enough for her to manipulate because he was already on the path to damnation but with time his humanity would rot away and she would be left with the glorious creature that remained. "Don't you feel shame in trying to emulate your superiors?" She was now referencing the souls, as her aura started to recede to a low buzz like a fly trapped in the room and the winds to a faint draft. "Taboo's exist for a reason," she laughed again "but I expect nothing less of your nature than to protest order."

There was a story, well multiple in fact that pervaded Sunagakure's history that warned against consumption. None of them tall tales. The first being the voracious hunger of the Wild Hunt and his subsequent madness and ultimate fall. The second being Barnyx, her madness and her death. How devouring ones own, the diminution of their own kind granted power at a price.

Meanwhile Akkuma had drawn something, a vial. She scoffed as he passed it over to her, but then she felt the heat of the fluid as it burned her hand. Her hands shook and the vial fell from her hand and shattered onto the floor. He did find something that she wanted. "You touched my little boy?" It was as if she was underwater, she heard him speak and she saw his lips move but the words... they refused to form in her head. All she could see was the color red.

Her flesh started to crack, after-all it was only a thin veil of porcelain that concealed her true form. These were these noises, these screams and then there was the wind and the storm. "I will peel the meat from your bones, demon," she announced. "So, I am afraid that this will be an end to our formalities demon." Bits of porcelain would start to fall away, revealing a 'hollow' center. There was nothing there except for sand.

Already well on his way to enjoying the cold, sustaining drink he ordered, Kaen continued to observe the on-goings within the building across the street. Nothing of note or interest was really happening, just some science experience with alcohol and miscellaneous exchanging of words. For a moment Kaen pondered whether it was possible to shape an ear instead of an eye. Only being able to see proved most difficult in his attempts of discerning the situation taking place. Appearing like he was spacing out, the nearby attending waitress broke the silence; "W-was there anything else I can get you sir?" Snapping back from the scene unfolding in his 'other' vision, Kaen directed his attentions to the girl a final time. "I'm quite satisfied, thank you. I would appreciate some solitude, if you please..." Kaen would slide a more than generous 'tip' across the table, hinting to his request of being left alone. The woman would nod and leave him in peace.

Refocusing to the scene across the way, Kaen watched as Akkuma essentially threw him under the metaphorical bus by revealing a vile of his own blood. "What the hell is he thinking... he's going to get us both killed." This demon had balls, that was a fact. That or he literally cared so little about anything and everything including the consequences of his own actions. He would be happy to kill him himself he jeopardized his standing with Mother Suna. What's worse, he gave it to Her. Just what was his angle, what was his goal in all this?

It happened so suddenly, it almost took Kaen by surprise. As if in slow motion, he watched the vial fall from her hands onto the floor, shattering to pieces and letting the hot blood spill out. And then he felt it, felt the presence, felt Her... It wasn't even gradual, it was sudden and fierce like a freak sandstorm come to decimate anything standing in its path. There was no mistaking this feeling, the same feeling he felt when they fought so long ago. The pressure was so intense and heavy, the true aura of an Ancient, the power of Mother Suna, the power of the Queen. Whatever was about to happen would be monumental, Kaen's own feelings were stirred to life in response to the overwhelming show of force that Shiori let loose, for the briefest of moments his own fiery aura would flood into existence. He couldn't help it, he was getting to excited just sitting here knowing what might be happening soon. There was nothing better than the thrill of the fight, let alone getting to see Her in action another time. He envied Akkuma in this moment, but that was hardly surprising. Barely able to real his aura back in, his mind still racing at the thought of battle. He wouldn't be able to just sit here much longer...

No You couldn’t Hissori mouthed as he peered from kitchen to see Shiori. This was followed by the ancient hissing words back at him. He would just laugh a bit. “Its pretty hard for a cute thing like you to menace!” Hissori would chime from the back as he gathered his last remaining items before walking back out to the bar to begin to make the drink. He would put all the stuff down and start making the drink. “Of course, why I am mixing him a drink.” Hissori said.

Hissori would just shake his head a bit as he looked at the bottle. “No, Rum.” Hissori said as he put the bottle down grabbing the mint. “No. Mint. Its like a herb.” Hissori told her again as he then added the sugar. When the question about the sugar being poison the man would pause. “I mean, I guess if the person was diabetic, I could defiantly kill someone with enough sugar.” Hissori mused out loud as he started to mix the drink. Shoving the drink into Akkuma’s hand, Hissori would just nod.

“Of course, but you know. I have been living quite a low key life down in the slums.” Hissori would tell Akkuma with a dismissive wave of the hand. “Former Tsuchikage out of the village, retired would fetch quite a large amount of yen if anyone were to really tried to kidnap me. But don’t worry, if anything went to sideways I was always watching. You know how I am, much more of a shadows person when it comes to serious things, I guess I got that from my ANBU parents.” Hissori said in a bit of tongue and cheek way as he took another large sip of his mojito and gave a refreshing sigh. “I hope you like it Akkuma-san! I made it in the old island way!” He would said either oblivious of the tension in the room, or more importantly just ceaselessly ignoring it.

At this point Buru had become thoroughly board. It had seemed that Hissori was sensing little danger here, and while Buru sensed more trouble coming out of his “kidnapper” he guessed it was fine to let his guard a bit. Putting his nose to the ground, Buru would start to sniff and smell all around the shop. Eventually the wolfdog would find his way to one of the puppets, sniffing it for traps. When the ninken decided the puppet was set, he gave a cautious nibble on one of the hands of a puppet. Then with a yank, the dog would pull and tug off the hand and behind to gnaw on it. It was around this time that Hissori would come to the bar, but the dog didn’t even pay it any attention.

What attention that Buru did pay to the group however was the spy that was watching them with some crystal eye. Sitting up the big dog would raise itself onto all fours before going to walk towards the middle of the room right in front of the window. With bone in hand the dog would just display himself for the eye, not that anyone else seemed any the wiser that they were currently being watched.

“I mean that wasn’t Akkuma trying to assassinate me. He isn’t the type of shinobi to try to do things all stealthy like how someone tried to use that Jashin jutsu to destroy my heart. He did though not listen to me, and well… I guess he needed to be reminded of who was in charge in the relationship.” Hissori said with a loud laugh rubbing the back of his head and flashing a wild smile towards Akkuma. Giving a short bow, Hissori would take her glass.

“Of course. Would you want another one Akkuma?” Hissori would tell her as he started to mix another round of drinks for the unlikely trio. Hissori would let the pair monologue just a bit as he listened closely to the two mortal enemies. The truth was that Hissori was finding this incredibly boring. After all, nothing had to do with the safety of a village, or his own life and death. It just seemed like a petty argument which was booringgggg. Mixing the drinks, a bit stronger than the ones before Hissori hoped the alcohol would settle their agressions for a bit.

“Guys. Guys… No need for that.” Hissori said as he handed over the drinks. “I am sure everything can be worked out in an AMBILICAL way.” Hissori would say. But first did you bring my Duck Breast Akkuma, I have this wonderful idea for a salad that you guys will be dying to try.” Hissori said flashing another wide smile.

They both acted almost exactly as he predicted which caused a thin smile to form upon his face. Her words tried to coax him into a rage, Hissori began to speak & as usual he was ignorant to the bigger part of the story. But worse yet was he'd known of the sabotage & still intervened it was something that infuriated him. Yes he'd known full well the doll was sabotaged & yet he still struck. He'd shown his true monstrous self without hesitation. Because he'd had a greater purpose his goal was worth more then the lives of all those who'd been present. But he'd explained himself before but none believed the words of a demon. Not that he could blame them his kin had worked hard to establish their reputation. Just as he had to establish his own. That smug smile would not leave his face as they both acknowledged Hissori's ability to make a drink. He ignored the comment about being weaker then a man for the battle was not that long ago that he forgot the foes he faced.

Hissori had intervened & performed a betrayal against the Demon that would not be forgotten. But Akkuma was not so monstrous that even the betrayal of those close to him could not extinguish the bond he felt with them. As a Demon it was in truth something he expected from all who crossed his path. HIssori attempted to lighten the atmosphere with a joke that got a chuckle from the demon only could he could practically feel Suna retching from where he stood at the thought. When Akkuma made his comment in regard to finding a being more then human this being erupted. Unaware of her own hubris & underestimation of the Demon's resources. Some of the beings she listed he was familiar with & others he knew not of but cataloged in his mind for further investigation. There it was he had gotten underneath that shell of hers. His presence his chaos had began to make it's way through that immaculate porcelain shell. Her energies unleashed with the power & glory that one would expect of a being called an Ancient.

In her gloating she divulged an excess of information to him perhaps she doubted that he would be able to make use of it. After all he doubted she'd lured him here to simply let him leave. She was foolish, while in this cycle he was only a half-breed that was only this incarnation. For he'd been cursed from the Dawn of Man for his transgressions. Something he'd learned only upon meeting Seika. Ever since that day he had taken steps to achieve his former glory. While all he could recollect were brief snippets he had regained enough to know just how far he'd fallen. Meanwhile his recent exploits had left him drained & in poor form he still had little doubt in regard to his ability to hold his own even against a foe such as her. Akkuma began to chuckle at her words. 'Superiors? Betters? Taboos?' from what he understood her people were just as monstrous as his own if not more so. They were just like the celestial beings he despised so much. So self-righteous & full of blind hypocrisy. Then realization dawned upon the being & the last of her facade fell away. The true monster that she was as an Ancient was revealed. Her disguise literally crumbling before his eyes as she became overcome with that blind primal fury.

Before him stood a being that represented the very power of this nation, no a being that literally lived off of it. But he was not blind & awe struck at her majesty. Akkuma saw her for what she was a relic of a bygone era. A being who sustained itself on those weaker then itself. Hissori began to interject & asked they solve matters amicably. Those emerald eyes flashed to the former Tsuchikage & there was a murderous rage that burned within them. "You interfered with matters you had no understanding of last time. If you ever hope to have my forgiveness. You'll make those drinks & stand there looking pretty. After I remind this relic of who it is she's dealing with, I'll let you tell me how you intend on making up for your transgressions over a drink." there was a rage that slowly died down to an almost flirty tone as he spoke to the man before turning to face Shiori.

She claimed it was an end to their formalities that she would flay the flesh from his bones. But while the latter of the statement may be true, he had no intentions of letting something like death hold him back from achieving his goals. Sand. This was what made her, she was less human then him & yet she was worshiped. The horrors she had no doubt committed lost to the ages, with their devotion. A laugh began to erupt from the demon building in volume as he faced her. She had shown him herself it was only fair he do the same. Downing the last of his drink he stretched out his arm placing it onto the counter. "Taboo? Isn't that a bit rich coming from someone like yourself? How prideful & arrogant you still are...that is why you're a dying species. You can't adapt..." he would say continuing to laugh as if it was some grand joke.

"To think you're so arrogant that you think you can kill me?" he cackled again, unseen things moved beneath his flesh but she would hear it. The cord-like demonic tendrils that moved beneath his flesh, like a secondary nervous system that was connected to everything within his body. But it was more then that Akkuma hadn't just changed his body. As she could sense he'd gained the ability to truly harness souls. Where once he could only devour them for their spiritual power he now sustained himself on this plane with them. Using the parts of his demonic enzymes that were strategically placed he had bound himself via unearthly means to this plane. For those who had received his 'gift' were also cursed. It was the grandest of his secrets & something that he believed may come to be revealed should he fail. Despite Suna's impressive & overwhelming strength his sporadic energies made the air less malleable to chakra it's effects.

"Shall we see who is truly superior? Tell you what...you win & you can see that boy of yours again." he'd say with a devilish laugh & goading tone. It seemed the tables had turned & it was Suna who had become reckless with her emotions. Akkuma hoped HIssori would do as he wished while Kaen enjoyed the show. Reaching into his robes Akkuma focused his attention solely on Suna. There was a reckless madness that glared out from those emerald eyes.
