Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kunochi with green eyes...
ab4a5dd1-b2c2-489b-8681-0edd4a79950f_zpsprm2adiq.png

It was an early, so early that the sun had yet to wake and the moon had yet to turn in for the new day. Saturday to be exact but just bearly as the critters of the night still sung and danced. Still a morning no less and a morning owed to her new country as part of keep earned. She was to tutor a young Konoha shinobi in which she had no qualms. She in fact loved teaching motivated and or eager youths. Especially since she was allowed the freedom to choose what hours most convenient to her. Likely an inconvenience to the young shinobi scheduled for this little education date but what better way to weed out the undisciplined from those worthy of her time. If it were a slacker to be trained, he'd likely not show in which case her duty would be fulfilled. The emerald eye'd kunochi sat upon a rather large boulder within the school's training grounds in wait for a young shinobi named Uchiha Hoheto. He had recieved his instructions to meet her here the day prior. Short notice but what better way to test and build adaptation and flexibility. Not a cruel joke in her mind, she was just strict in that way. The emerald eye Kunochi, only five feet eight inches tall, resting her arms adorned with traditional black Nin guards on one knee crossed the other, waited patiently. A feint smile rested upon her pale face that was only slightly covered by her thick dark curls that rose and fell as the breeze dictated. The scent of light coconut and turmeric gently simmered the air around her. It was a comforting and sweet fragrance emitting from her person as a result from deep ritual baths and soaking. She dressed in black as to blend natrually with shadows though she remained in plain sight due to the clear dark sky lit by the moon's radiance. It wouldn't be long now before young Uchiha Hoheto arrived or not...

"Almost time, I better get going" said the uchiha who took a quick glance to the clock to his right, sitting in his bed. Prior to the break of dawn, he had been instructed in writing about a training session with one of the leaf's jounin. And with that knowledge came a sense of eagerness which kept him all night with thoughts as to what sort of lesson he'd receive. Looking at the shredded piece of paper with letters in dry ink about the location of his training once more, he hurried off from bed already set for the event to come. "I wonder what kind person I'd meet" His inquisitiveness kicked in again as he gave thoughts to who his trainer would be; he tried to anticipate the events to come even as he made it past the front door quietly. Dressed in a black cloak with its hoodie on, he appeared a figure almost nonexistent to his surroundings, blending perfectly with the shadows save for the moonlit sky which occasionally proved otherwise. To some, the hour would seem inconvenient for a lesson but the uchiha was no stranger to early outing. In fact he had dedicated the early hours of his mornings to the betterment of himself and in light to this he didn't seem perturbed but rather, eager to embrace the opportunity before him to further his goal to be among the leaf's greats.

Along the path leading to the academy, the boy adopted faint steps, drawing little to no attention to himself. It was evident he didn't want to be noticed in that hour as to avoid drawing the eyes at rest in the shadows to his motive; not like he was doing anything wrong anyway, or that he was about to but he felt it necessary to keep a low profile. Taking to the air afterwards, Hoheto appeared as dazzling blurs, blazing from rooftop to rooftop. He moved so fast and so light in a manner which showed the meaning of haste, all in a bid to get the venue on time. The boy was determined to appear disciplined in his first meeting with his tutor whilst keeping to the clock. He in no way entertained the idea of keeping this person waiting any second more than the agreed time regardless of whomever he or she may be. Several minutes into his movement the academy was within his line of sight. He came to rest, opting to move slowly as his eyes scanned the area for an extra presence. The uchiha wasn't sure of whom he was to meet and even though this was meant to be a lesson for his benefit, he played on the cards of caution. His gifted eyes peered through the night, banishing any trace of darkness before him till he happened upon a lady he guessed was his instructor for the night. Compared to his 4 feet 9, she was tall as a giant but with no build. His read on her attire transformed his guess into a fact, though it was short lived as he caught hold of her emerald eyes. "Hello ma'am?" The uchiha announced his presence showing the shredded piece of paper he had with question marks all over his features as he was unsure of what to call her. With the few seconds into their encounter, his eyes were already pleased with what they'd seen. "I bet her attitude is as alluring as her looks" he kept to himself, giving room to the lady to speak.

Kunochi with green eyes...
ab4a5dd1-b2c2-489b-8681-0edd4a79950f_zpsprm2adiq.png

And so it was, that a young cloaked boy would appear before the emerald eyed Kunochi. He was punctual and seemed unphased by the late hour assigned to him. Amaya would simply size him up from her earthly mount like a queen sitting upon her throne. He seemed mature and yet unsure of himself as he greeted her with a simple hello while presenting to her a shredded piece of paper. Why was it shredded? No puzzling facial exchange occurred as the Kunochi's feint smile remained. The floor was left open for Amaya to initiate the proper greetings as decorum dictated though Amaya would stay seated above however, a perfessional, with one leg across the other. A feint smile still remained fixed and her smooth pale completion reflecting the moon's glow.

"Right on time, you must be Uchiha Hoheto. Permit me to stand on ceremony, I am Akira Amaya, Leaf Jounin and today I will be your tutor. For the purpose of your training you may call me Amaya Sensei or Sensei for short. Now then, tell me a little about yourself before we begin your stealth tutoring session."

Amaya would continue to sit pristinely. She would wait for Uchiha Hoheto to reply only to interrupt him with a kunai at his feet. It would stab the ground before him in an almost blinding speed. Twirling another kunai in one hand and holding a finger to her lips with the other hand, Amaya would whisper to the boy.

"Shhh... lesson number one of shadows. Exercise and maintain noise discipline at all times. You must be like the shadows, no, you are the shadows. That is what it means to be a shinobi. Now then, let's play a litto game of hide and seek. Here are the rules... You must hide within this courtyard as the ends of the courtyard are the boundaries. Everytime you make a sound I will toss a kunai at your feet. I have a total of three kunai. Once I have tossed all three... You fail. Oh and by the way... you've already wasted one."

This may have seemed a bit tough and or unfair but Amaya intended to give the boy top of the line shinobi training. Inducing stress and reinforcing discipline would only amplify his training results. It simulated the sort of stress you'd feel if you were faced with a mission or advisory in real time. The first thing the boy would notice is that within the boundaries set before him in this little twisted training was that there was virtually no cover for concealment. The courtyard was practically empty besides the bolder Amaya sat upon and though it was dark, the yard was practically lit by the moon's light though some clouds were moving over head.

"Where you hide and how is up to you as long as it's within the courtyard. You also have the option of one hint if you are having trouble but it will cost you one kunai to ask. Now then..."

A sense of accomplishment puffed Hoheto's chest and his thought unreeled. "Pleased to meet you Amaya sensei." The genin replied. "I am Uchi…" He tries to follow but is interrupted mid way by the lightning quick kunai before his feet. Involuntarily, he glances up at the woman forcing an arm in the pouch resting behind, all but set to keep away.

Amaya however remained with naught but a faint smile, her slender finger swirling about the glinting edges of the same dark steel of metal. "Combat training?" Hoheto questions his core with a puzzled look. The emerald eyed kunoichi taken by the boy's misconception to the event past called for his silence. She gestured with her idle hand resting gently on her scarlet lips as she introduced his lesson and its daunting tasks in whispers.

"Interesting and challenging" Hoheto agreed in thought; a game of wits and a lesson on stealth she had presented. Grasping her intent, the uchiha's stiffened look dissolves into a grin, pleased with the jounin's rather unfair approach to things. From the corners where his crimson eyes rested, they swayed, absorbing any detail they could about the terrain. An open lawn with growing grass strewn about, it was before him. He unfurled his interior to an array of thoughts, remaining undisturbed to the balmy morning breeze. "Hiding in plain sight I see." He pondered "If there are no covers or rooms for concealment I guess I'll have to make one" He thought once more, pulling his hand slowly away from his ninja pouch.

Unsure of the genin's capabilities, Amaya offers a hint at the cost of a life as she had called it but Hoheto declined politely with his head. A brief silence ensues then, in the courtyard, occasionally basked with the silver light from the moon. Bidding his time, the uchiha remained without a sound. He replayed the strategy created in his head over and over again, waiting for a dark cloud above the courtyard without appearing tensed. "No need to rush this" he reeled in thought. After a brief wait, he notices a dense cast creeping from behind. "Perfect" Hoheto conceives in thought.

Flicking his wrist, he unleashes a thick cloud of smoke under the besieged sky, obscuring the jounin's line of sight. Proceeding with his next course of action, he retrieves the kunai before him without so much as a sound. His fingers interlocks in a series of handseals as he employs the use of a replica without her notice. Modifying his substance into the very same thing Amaya twirled in her hands, the clone hurls it to the ground in the same manner the throwing knife stayed as before. Perhaps not what she expected but If and when the smoke screen cleared, Amaya would find the uchiha missing nonetheless and his clone nonexistent as well.

Kunochi with green eyes...

The boy had quick reflexes and this was noted in the analysis the kunochi was conducting to herself. The kunai swiftly landing at his feet caused him to reflexively reach for his tools tucked behind him. He was ready to fight Amaya if he needed to and without fear or hesitation. The Leaf village certainly had some capable youth. Amaya could tell by the boy's expression that he understood his instructions clearly and what's more, he already had a plan. Amaya, still with the heavenly and unwavering faint smile became intrigued as the boy released a thick smoke to obscure her vision. Still twirling the second kunai, the Kunochi would raise an eyebrow in response before slowly standing to her feet for a better observation. Her facial expression hadn't change but she was impressed by the boy's cunning and quick thinking. She would remain standing until the smoke began to dissipate and her vision no longer obscured. Needless to say the boy was no longer in sight. "Perhaps he's played this game before," Amaya thought playfully as she stopped twirling her kunai. She'd leap down from her stone throne to investigate the area her student was last seen.

"Goood. You learn quickly love annnnd, you already accomplished lesson number two of shadows, cover and concealment. Cover is defined as a physical obstruction, shelter or barrier that can be used to conceal your location and protect you at the same time. Most ideal in combat. Consealment is defined essentially the same way however it provides no protection. It's the difference between hiding behind a large tree vs a bush. You will want to utilize both to aid you however there will be times when one of the two or even both are lacking. In this case you'll have to create your own... Well done. This environment was specifically chosen because of its lack of both however you've managed to hide in plan sight. Which is lesson number three of shadows... hiding in plan sight. Consider me impressed that your already ahead. Well then, lesson number four of shadows... the strike! Masking your presence isn't just for protection. Stealthing has a variety of uses from espionage, reconnaissance, sabotage, larceny and my personnel favorite... assassinations. These are all forms and types of strike, know this and know it well. Now then... I want you to demenstrate all these principles of shadow in order to land a decisive blow against me. All rules still apply however, make a sound and you'll get a kunai at your feet. Two more kunai at your feet and you've failed. Oh and to make this more fair..."

Amaya would walk over to the giant stone bolder that she once sat upon. Still faintly smiling she'd place a hand upon its surface gently before circling behind it, her hand still caressing it's body. She was eventually out of sight when she formed an array of seals before punching the huge bolder causing it to shatter into many large pieces in a thunderous boom across the field. Dangerous considering any piece could have hit the young boy accidently causing injury however Amaya was confident that wouldn't be the case considering the boy's reflexes. A large piece would undoubtedly land in front of the kunai the boy was concealed in granting him an advantageous opportunity and more cover than before. Amaya would then begin walking around the field twirling the kunai once more.

"Land a decisive blow is all you must do. Be creative and for the love of all things, do not be predictable. Your target, me, is a high level Jounin. Predictable attacks will never work. And to make sure you are motivated and taking this seriously, each failed attempt will grant you a kunai at your feet. Now then, strike when you are ready love."

With that the Kunochi would continue to roam blissfully twirling the kunai in her hand. Her faint smile daring...

Gray hues of silver bathe the courtyard in a chilly embrace as the besieged sky gave room to the light from the moon once more. Upon a large, rounded boulder situated in the middle of the lawn, Amaya stood surveying all. Her radiant and effulgent pupils shimmered brilliantly to and fro the unornamented terrain with an unwavering smile. Luckily, the uchiha's strategy proved far useful than he hoped. Concealed in plain sight, his features appeared a dank piece of metal masked even to the kunoichi's keen, emerald eyes; in a way inconceivable, Amaya had fallen victim to the uchiha's guise—someone far beneath her in craft. She motioned away from her resting place pleased with his trickery, offering pulsating remarks that swelled the heart of the eight year old in a sense of accomplishment. A laudable feat she had commended but still, the crimson eyed shinobi endured in the moist area where he stayed, not to be clouded in thinking nor swayed in judgement for he knew or rather… heard, the daunting part of his lesson was yet at bay.

Progressively, the courtyard grows calm following the kunoichi's last statement which etched a question mark in the mind of the uchiha. "Perhaps, she's aware of my presence but willingly turns a blind eye to it" He ponders. "Then again, could it be she really isn't?" Uncertain, Hoheto questions his core. His ears catches wind on Amaya's gentle steps against grass which in itself alone troubled the morning's peace. Over to the worn boulder she walked—her leather boots doused in dew. To what purpose? Hoheto knew not but he prepared himself nonetheless.

For a moment the morning quiet returns but only just as an auditory sensation far more disturbing soon followed; originating from the middle of the courtyard, the impact of fist to stone registers a loud boom akin to the quaking of thunder, consequently, the large mass of rock which had stayed unyielding prior to Amaya's fist, surprisingly yielded to her might and is reduced to slabs of debris scattered about. The uproar sends a shiver down Hoheto's spine, his pulsating heart rapidly increases in rhythm. "Dangerous!" He exclaims in thought. Not once had his ears been exposed to sounds on this scale. And for a while, his terrified state persisted but alas, he reassured himself with Amaya's next set of words. This, after all was intended to aid him in his fourth and most exacting task: a decisive strike from the shadows in the form assassination.

Reverting to normal, the uchiha's posterior rests on the large piece of rock laid before him. The haze of gray powder from the violent release of energy earlier cloaked his return. He shielded his nostrils with the soft spot between his upper and lower arm, cogitating what action to take. While in his concealment, the maiden's steps gradually grows faint—evident in the increasing distance between the two. "Predictable attacks you say" Hoheto mulls over her instruction. He was certain she knew of his location and expected an attack from her rear as it was only natural he did from her blind spot but the uchiha was in no hurry. "what if I gave you what you're looking for but in a manner you least expected" He thought once more wearing a grin. Proceeding with an array of seals, the uchiha maintains the last one. From the surrounding shadows, the power of the darkness he calls to his side. With the fine powdered particles of dirt still on course to settle, the area around the courtyard darkens with black shadows from which several arcing tendrils of darkness shoots up to impale the jounin. Dangerous as it seemed, Hoheto believed with certainty that she'd seen a far worse or rather, a more potent attack but he desired to witness her defense to his most lethal offense—a measure to the kunoichi's unseen skill. "Now then…" The uchiha conceives in mind, unveiling the crimson hues of his eyes to view her response.

Kunochi with green eyes...
ab4a5dd1-b2c2-489b-8681-0edd4a79950f_zpsprm2adiq.png

The Kunochi's emerald gaze would fall upon the surrounding area as darkness slowly consumed what situates outside the courtyard. The sight was easily comparable to that of a nightmarish genjutsu as the darkness swallowed what was initaitally visible leaving nothing but vague silhouettes of distant trees and man made structures of the surrounding area. What was what could hardly be distinguished. "Interesting," the Kunochi thought, amused by the assassination theatrics. She would not cater to the creeping darkness much as she roamed and survey the grounds. That was until several arcing tendrils of darkness came sprouting out toward her. Amaya still only faintly smiling did absolutely nothing in response. No, without so much as a flinch, she simply watched as several tendrils impaled her into a chunk of stone. Crimson warm liquid began to run down her left arm as she remained pinned to the stone still faintly smiling. The tendril of dark chakra which had impaled her only stabbed into her left shoulder while the others had but grazed her. Perhaps their trajectory was manipulated last minute by the Uchiha after realizing his sensei wasn't dodging the attack or perhaps these tendrils weren't meant to hit a mark but merely distractions. Non the less the boy was likely surprised that his sensei would be so careless or perhaps he'd think that this was some sort of trick... either way, as his tutor, it was her duty to put such rationalizations to rest in order for her student to focus on the lesson being taught. Looking in his direction from where he laid in hiding, Amaya would speak softly but passionately.

"Is that it? All that you possess? When you first showed up for training I could have sworn that I could see it in your eyes... the desire to be great, to be more. I could see myself in you. Perhaps I was wrong. Humans have five vital organs that are essential for survival, the brain, heart, kidneys, liver and lungs and yet you targeted none. Why? Because of hesitation. Hesitation is failure, it's weakness. You hesitate out there and people will die, you will die... do you understand me. If you want to be great, if you power you must take it. You must never hesitate."

With a quick slash, Amaya would disperse the tendril connecting through her shoulder to the stone before continuing in a slow pace toward the stone the boy was hiding behind. The blood still trailing down her arm, dripping into the vegetation beneath her feet with each step. She'd toss the kunai she was holding next to the previous kunai embedded into the dirt. Reaching into her clothing she'd grab the third before twirling it around like the last.

"A shoulder injury is by far a decisive blow but luckily you have another chance to win this little game hmm. This time you'll need to be sure of yourself. A failed assassination becomes an assassination attempt in which now your target is aware. It'll be twice as hard to succeed it again especially if your cover is blown."

At that moment Amaya would reach the area she believed her student was hiding. She'd stand just behind the rock out of view, if he was there, and continue to twirl the kunai. Her smile still faint as the sound of the blood dripping from her finger tips grew deafening.

Lush hues of red flashed from the corner, top of the boulder where Hoheto stayed as he knelt on one knee to observe the kunoichi who roamed the unornamented terrain rapidly enclosed by shadows from every corner. Despite the overwhelming darkness, you'd think Amaya would fall prey to its psychological effects. But no, she was unperturbed. Those white teeth of hers remained unfurled even in the eerie moment. Having dwelt in the dark for God knows how long, perhaps she was no stranger to this art the boy reasoned. With that unwavering smile of hers, he could not exactly deduce what thought had taken root in her core and as such, he waited eagerly to find out what logic defying action she would take.

Surprisingly, the jounin satisfies his curiosity but not in the manner he hoped for. For reasons only known to her, she opts to remain exposed against the emerging tendrils aimed at her vital organs. But the uchiha in a last ditch effort spiralled the majority away. Amaya suffers considerable damage still. Fastened onto stone, streaks of sanguine liquid leaks from the kunoichi's left arm. The genin dazed, reverts to his previous position on the ground a bit concerned at what he had seen. There, he would hear her speak.

Amaya's soft tone which had been of praise and admiration hammered on the boy's unwillingness to finish the job. Hesitation the jounin called weakness. In a different scenario she would have been right but could the same be said of now? Amaya was merely a stand in target. The uchiha faltered because, as his morals demanded, she was not to be harmed. But in any case he had failed. The path of a shinobi is never direct; some tasks require a flip in morals to be carried out perfectly and hesitation even in the slightest bit could lead to failure.

From his cover, Hoheto would hear a whistling sound akin to that of a kunai cutting through the air. Into the dirt it went and instantly he knew he had but one life left in this game. Immediately he digs in for inspiration. Amaya's feminine steps he paid little heed to as she drew closer. Her next words disheartening. "Only one thing left to do" Hoheto thought himself. This time his eyes burned away all concern for her. Locking his fingers together in a series of hand signs, he unleashed the most powerful jutsu in his arsenal yet (Absolute void). A technique similar in nature to the first but on a more deadly note. The entirety of the lawn is hijacked by shadows not even the rays of light from the moon could dispel. Amaya, visionless would then feel the cold edge of a throwing knife rub against the nape of neck deep to the bone in a swift strike. "I am sorry sensei" She would hear the boy speak from her rear as showers of blood gushes out from her neck.

Kunochi with green eyes...
ab4a5dd1-b2c2-489b-8681-0edd4a79950f_zpsprm2adiq.png

It was a surprise that someone so young had it in them... the killer instinct. Truth be told the Kunochi with green eyes had underestimated the young shinobi's resolve to do what was necessary, his burning ambition to be great. It started with the skies and all fading to black. No doubt a genjutsu had befallen the emerald eyed Kunochi however she had not flinched. Instead she'd blink slowly, her gaze somewhere off into the distance as she'd been robbed of her sight. On her face, a faint smile was fixed. Even when a sharp blade gashed her throat, ironically her faint smile remained and her gaze still far gone. Like her statued facial expression, her body would collapse like a falling stone and plop upon the grass. Blood would soak the earth below as a puddle grew around the Kunochi's body. She'd lay there lifeless just long enough for the boy to come out to observe. But then she'd rise up from her lifeless position to her knees. With blood stained clothes she wore the same faint smile as before and the wound that should have been on her throat was no existent. The boy was likely confused as to how this was possible but Amaya paid no mind to this. Instead she'd take this as an opportunity to congratulate the young shinobi on a job well done.

"I know why you hesitated. Fear. It's the strongest human emotion bred into us for one purpose, to keep us alive. But it can also kill us if we let it. Today you've proven your knowledge, the art of assassination, stealth, noise discipline and the will of fire. This concludes today's lesson young Uchiha. I sense the makings of greatness in you. If you're ever in need of a sensei, I'll be happy to train you anytime. Just seek me out."

The emerald eyed Kunochi would then fully stand. Her injuries minimum but worth it if it inspired the next generation. The Kunochi would now take her leave but not before leaving her final instructions.

"What a mess this courtyard has become. Make sure to tidy up before you leave."

And with a faint smile she was gone.
