Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Grandeur Phantom
WQxpBtv.png

Not many know of the things that lurks within them, silently watching the outside world, while judging and planning their next move. Each and every person has one, a shadow, an aspect of the personality that is kept suppressed by one's consciousness to protect one's self from the primitive and primal instinct within. Those proficient in the art of Genjutsu may discover a method to delve deep within the recesses of their own mind to confront this (often negative) aspect of themselves in a bid for greater power...But in doing so, risk succumbing to their shadow's attempt at wresting control over them. Those who overcome this trial of the self are presented with the full power over one's own mind and perhaps even others. These individuals are known as the Grandeur Phantoms, wielding their newfound power in such a way to cause intense psychological damage to those who underestimate their otherwise normal appearance.

Kinjutsu TableInformation
Prerequisites: Kinjutsu Application, 3 Ability Slots, B Rank. 7 Genjutsu Mastered.

Effect: Your Genjutsu become more seamless and harder to avoid or even remove. You gain the following:
  • You gain +1 Genjutsu DC. This bonus can exceed caps.
  • In addition, when a target attempts to remove your Genjutsu through Cancel Jutsu or similar effects, a Genjutsu Check is made against you instead, with you gaining bonuses to your roll depending on the rank of the Genjutsu.
    • E and D Rank Genjutsus grants you +3 to your check.
    • C and B Rank Genjutsus grants you +2 to your check.
    • A Rank Genjutsus grants you +1 to your check.

Denied Mind - Shadow - Kinjutsu Ability
rLVCdvL.png

While a Grandeur Phantom can easily call out a facet of their personality, one of the many skills acquired by a Grandeur Phantom is their ability to perceive other people's shadows, simply seeing silhouettes of monsters or human-like beings behind them. These shadows takes the shape of one's hidden consciousness, often used by a Grandeur Phantom to take advantage by means of discerning and understanding another's shadow though if needed, a Grandeur Phantom can forcibly pull an individual's shadow into the physical plane, often causing chaos and with relatively dangerous results to both the owner of the shadow and possibly those around them.

Information
Prerequisites: Grandeur Phantom

Effect: At the start of each battle, the user generates a Shadow with HP equal to 50% of the user's maximum CP. The Shadow has the following properties:
  • Is only visible to the user, targets affected by the user's Genjutsu and any other participant who possess the Grandeur Phantom Kinjutsu, otherwise it is nonexistent to any other participants and cannot be targeted, affected nor take damage from any sources.
  • The user may apply any single Genjutsu on the Shadow. This does not deal damage nor does it affect the Shadow.
  • Genjutsu applied to the Shadow will automatically have a copy placed on any participant who can see the shadow. The copy persists only as long as they can see the shadow and the shadow retains the original genjutsu. The copy will not take up a sense slot, cannot be canceled, shattered or removed. If an affected opponent possesses the Grandeur Phantom Kinjutsu, then see notes
  • It takes 50% of any Non-Illusionary Damage and 100% against Illusionary Damage.
  • If a participant's HP is reduced to 0 while they are visible to the Shadow, the Shadow regains HP equal to 40% of that target's maximum CP.

Note(s):
- The user and any other participant who possess the Grandeur Phantom Kinjutsu that has the Revealed Mind - Persona Ability must make a Genjutsu Save check against another Grandeur Phantom's Shadow every 10 seconds to be affected by the Shadow's Genjutsu to which they remain affected by it for 10 seconds. You and any other participant who possess the Grandeur Phantom Kinjutsu has +2 to their checks against this ability.
- If the Shadow dies, it can no longer be bought back until the user starts a new battle.
- If the participant is either in stealth or bound and they take damage from the Shadow's Genjutsu, they are not knocked out of stealth nor unbound.
- The user's Shadow does not have any secondaries and any attacks against it is an automatic hit.
- The user and any other participant who possess the Grandeur Phantom Kinjutsu that has the Reveled Mind - Persona Ability must make a Genjutsu Save check against another Grandeur Phantom's Shadow (using the owner's Genjutsu DC) every 10 seconds to be affected by the Shadow's Genjutsu to which they remain affected by it for 10 seconds. You and any other participant who possess the Grandeur Phantom Kinjutsu has +2 to their checks against this ability.
- A participant cannot be affected by the same Genjutsu, either from the user, an extension of themselves or the Shadow.
- The user pays all costs and maintenance cost on the Genjutsu placed on their Shadow.
- A Shadow will be generated for each Grandeur Phantom present in battle. A Grandeur Phantom may only perform Genjutsu on their own Shadow.

Reveled Mind - Persona - Kinjutsu Ability
V2R0m0E.png

The core of the Grandeur Phantom's strength comes from overcoming the Shadow in their mind, and empowering it into a Persona. This facet of their psyche can then be manifested as a tangible form of psychic energy near the user. The appearance and abilities of a Persona varies from one Grandeur Phantom to the next, and as the Persona is a manifested form of their psyche, the two operate in perfect unison, verbal communication being unnecessary...But should it be destroyed in battle, the resulting psychological damage the user suffers may injure them for life.

Information
Prerequisites: Grandeur Phantom

Effects: The user unlocks their Persona and you can bestow the capability of casting a Damage Type: a single Taiutsu Damage Type, Base Element, Advance Element, or a single Sense Genjutsu which must be assigned through your respective Dojo. The user may perform up to 3 AP's worth of actions through their Persona each round.

Notes:
- Jutsus used this way deal illusionary damage and do not require handseals/movement.
- Only illusionary damage buffs apply to attacks made by a persona.
- All accuracy buffs for the attack type carry over from the user.

Rampant Ego - B-Rank Genjutsu
rLVCdvL.png

Knowing that a Shadow is such a fragile, yet pure existence, a Grandeur Phantom can stir this being of pent up psyche in an attempt to cause it to go wild and aggressive. The resulting action usually ends up with a dangerous being that will even attempt to kill its owner even if it means its existence will end.

Information
Prerequisites: Grandeur Phantom, B-Rank

Rank 1: The user attempts to aggravate the Shadow and when you do so, cause the Genjutsu affecting the Shadow to spread towards all participants who can see the Shadow at +1 DC. A participant who fails this check has the Genjutsu applied on a random open Sense Slots they have (even if normally it cannot occupy that slot) and take 150% of the Genjutsu's illusionary damage when it is placed on the wrong sense slot or normal damage when placed on the appropriate sense slot.
Master Rank:The user attempts to aggravate the Shadow and when you do so, cause the Genjutsu affecting the Shadow to spread towards all participants who can see the Shadow at +1 DC. A participant who fails this check has the Genjutsu applied on a random open Sense Slots they have (even if normally it cannot occupy that slot) and take twice of the Genjutsu's illusionary damage when it is placed on the wrong sense slot or 150% of the illusionary damage when placed on the appropriate sense slot.

Rank 1 Cost: 2.5 AP and 480 CP
Master Rank Cost: 2.5 AP and 600 CP

Notes:
- May only be used once every 10 seconds.
- After using this Genjutsu, the Genjutsu applied to the Shadow is removed.
- The user not affected by this.

Unreal Reality - B-Rank Genjutsu
dNE97xB.png

A Grandeur Phantom's reality is what they make or for a better word, think of it. Diluting the senses of an individual, they can forcibly imprint their own illusions into the mind of another, manipulating them to accept absurd changes around them. For a Grandeur Phantom, this is simply a way of overpowering someone through their illusions, slowly but surely corrupting their minds with things that were not meant to be there.

Information
Prerequisites: Grandeur Phantom

Rank 1: Attempts to extend the duration of a single Genjutsu currently affecting a target at +1 Genjutsu DC. If successful, the effects of the chosen Genjutsu last for an additional 10 seconds after being removed.
Master Rank: Attempts to extend the duration of a single Genjutsu currently affecting a target at +1 Genjutsu DC. If successful, the effects of the chosen Genjutsu last for an additional 20 seconds after being removed.

Special Action - Prolonged Agony: The user may cast this on a Shadow with +20% Chakra Cost. All participants (other than the user) who can currently see the Shadow will have the duration of all Genjutsus affecting them extended by an additional 5 / 10 seconds.

Special Action - Ticking Mind: For +20% of the Chakra Cost, the user may reflexively use this when casting a Genjutsu. However, only the Genjutsu used with this jutsu may be chosen.

Rank 1 Cost: 2.5 AP and 480 CP
Master Rank Cost: 2.5 AP and 600 CP

Notes:
- The user chooses which Genjutsu they are attempting to extend at the time of casting. None of which can be any Genjutsus from the Grandeur Phantom table.
- Does not take up a Sense Slot.
- If Prolonged Agony is removed before the duration ends, all Genjutsus previously affected revert to their normal duration if they have not ended yet.
- Once a Genjutsu affected by Unreal Reality is removed, it no longer deals damage, but will apply any other effects and still take up the target's Sense Slot. Maintenance cost is still paid during this extended time, but the lingering effects can no longer be removed by any means.
- Cannot be used with Binds, Barriers, or Creations.

Tabula Rasa - A-Rank Genjutsu
XH41ZnW.png

A Grandeur Phantom has a hidden ace up their sleeve; a technique which blurs the line between fantasy and reality by manifesting and merging with their Persona, taking on a form that is a mix between both. While this shares their pain with their Persona, it also drastically increasing their processing speed, mental strength and overall capability.

Information
Prerequisites: Grandeur Phantom, A-Rank

Rank 1: You fuse with your Persona, gaining Temporary HP equal to 10% of your maximum CP for 20 seconds. While you have Temporary HP through this jutsu, you only take 90% of all Non-Illusionary Damage and 75% of Illusionary Damage. In addition, you can now perform up to 4 AP worth of actions through your Reveled Mind - Persona ability.
Rank 2: You fuse with your Persona, gaining Temporary HP equal to 15% of your maximum CP for 20 seconds. While you have Temporary HP through this jutsu, you only take 80% of all Non-Illusionary Damage and 50% of Illusionary Damage. In addition, you can now perform up to 5 AP worth of actions through your Reveled Mind - Persona ability.

Rank 1 Cost: 3 AP, 1100 CP and 550 HP every round maintained.
Master Rank Cost: 3 AP, 1375 CP and 690 HP every round maintained.

Notes:
- This is a Chakra Armor.
- When you cast this Genjutsu, choose one of your Sense Slots to take up. As long as this Jutsu is active, no other Genjutsu can be placed on that slot.
- Has a 10 second cooldown once it ends.
- Once you lose all Temporary HP from this Genjutsu before the duration ends, the effect immediately ends.
- Temporary HP is reduced before the user's normal HP, but only when hit by an attack (it does not apply toward any DoT). Temporary HP can bypass your maximum hit points, but cannot stack (a higher amount overwrites the weaker amount). Temporary HP is lost at the end of the round. This temporary hp is not removed automatically so long as this technique is active.

Breakdown - S-Rank Genjutsu
FQ6NeZr.png

If anything, mental exhaustion can be more dangerous than physical exertion, as it can leave one straight out incapable of doing anything and renders them vulnerable against everything. A Grandeur Phantom however can easily speed up this process, lifting the illusions placed upon them at once, causing their senses to go wild and inflict dire mental strains on their victims in an attempt to make them succumb to exhaustion and vulnerability.

Information
Prerequisites: Grandeur Phantom, S-Rank, All other Grandeur Phantom techniques mastered

Master Rank: You attempt to remove all Genjutsus you casted from a target at +2 Genjutsu DC. When you do so, the target takes damage equal to 2205 + all of the undealt Illusionary damage from the removed Genjutsus. If the illusionary damage dealt by this Genjutsu is equal or more than 15% of the target's maximum HP, the target automatically receive the Exhaustion effect for 15 seconds.

Cost: 3.5 AP and 2205 CP

Note(s):
- May only be used once every 20 seconds.
- Each Genjutsu removed this way has a 2205 damage cap (increased by Genjutsu Damage, up to a maximum of 3305 at 50%) that count towards Breakdown's damage, any excess damage is considered damage dealt by the removed genjutsu instead of Breakdown.
- Genjutsus that doesn't have a duration and may be maintained indefinitely will only contribute one round/10 seconds worth of damage. (If a Genjutsu deals 50 Illusionary Damage each round, and will only add +50 Illusionary Damage towards Breakdown).
- Exhaustion temporarily removes all sense slots from the target, allowing them to be inflicted by any number of Genjutsus for the duration (but not the same Genjutsu). Once it ends, 4 Genjutsus of the user's choice remains on the target.
