Name: Ha Kuren
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Physical Description: Kuren is a short girl with a plain face, green eyes, and long blonde hair styled in two ponytails. She wears glass: mostly for reading purposes as she is far sighted. Like most female shinobi she prefers to pants over a dress as it provides better movability. Her attire seems a little usual for a student at the academy. She wears a brown jacket over a leotard, hiking boot, gloves and a helmet that looks like it belongs to a miner. Her 'weapons' she carries are also a little strange as she carries a pick axe and a shovel.
Mental Description: Kuren is a good-natured, joyful, and energetic child. She has a quick and inquisitive mind, gathering and properly organizing all the information available on subjects that interest her. She is not much of a fighter as of yet, but more of a scholar. She joined the academy more out of a thirst for knowledge than anything. She is a she proclaim archeologist. She has a strong desire to learn the history of this place she now calls home and these techniques that has been passed down for generations.
History: Kuren was born within Crater City, The City of Thieves. This was home to people who perform less than honorable acts and Kuren was no exception to that. Under the shroud of night she would go out shovel at hand to the graveyard. Digging up graves was an exhausting task, but she often found it rewarding. Some of these graves have been here for hundreds of years and each body she uncovers tells a story. She often calls herself an archeologist and claims her acts were in the pursuit of knowledge.
It is not uncommon for a person to be buried with something precious to them, as if they desired to take it with them to the afterlife. One day she found quite a treasure trove. Surprisingly this old coffin she dug out was void of any corpse. Instead it was filled with leather bound books whose contents were in some old language. Kuren found this fascinating and was eager to learn what was written in these tombs and why were they hidden in such away.
Kuren spent the next several days in the public library deciphering the text from an old dialect Fuego to the common tongue. She discover they were books on shinobi art: how to mold chakra, how to cast illusions, how to manipulate the elements and similar topics. Looking through historical text she believes she found the reason for one to hide these books. According to her research it appears the shinobi arts were forbidden and only became acceptable in the past 500 years. It was quite possible that these books were contraband.
Kuren was able to teach herself some of the basics with these books but she wanted to learn more and for that she must travel to the village of konoha. She sold some of her treasure and booked passage to the hidden village. Once there she would join the academy.

She discover they were books on shinobi arts: how to mold chakra, how to cast illusions, how to manipulate the elements and similar topics. Kuren was able to teach herself some of the basics with these books.
One of the first things she did was test her affinity with the chakra induction paper test. Closing her eyes she begins a chakra molding exercise. She pictures her chakra as a small flame within her body. It shines within and flickers with every heartbeat. Concentrating on her breathing, she takes slow deep breaths. She begins to visualize the air mixing with the fire and fanning the flame. She would watch as it ever so gradually gets bigger, hotter and brighter. The light, the light would be almost tangible as it flowed through her body like little streams. She would picture the stream flowing down herr arm and soaking into the paper. Opening up her eyes she sees it combust. Kuren did not even need to consult her research to know this meant that she had an affinity to fire. Some might call it foolish, but she then decides to focus her ninjutsu training solely with that element.
------
The scrolls she found told her exercises that would help her improve her natural affinity. The first routine sounded fairly simple. It told her to repeatedly ignite a candle without the use of any hand seals. Kuren soon found out it was not as easy as it sounded. The candle was not nearly as acceptable to chakra as the induction paper. She spent several hours pinching the wick before it finally lighted. During the next few days she would continue doing this until she could ignite the candle consistently.
For the next exercise she would try to create a flame within the palm of her hand and maintain it. Kuren would go to the graveyard at night and do just this. However fire is tricky: too small and it would flicker out and too large would threaten to burn her. She had burns on her hands after the first night. The next night the flame was like that of a match. Easy to contain, but went out with a single breeze. Night after night she learns how to control larger amount of flame.
Soon she was holding a ball of fire as big as an apple and was able to maintain it throughout the night, but that was only the first step to the exercise. She proven herself that she was able to create and maintain large amount of flame. Now she must be able to manipulate it. It was at this time she was now living in Kanoha. She would sit on one of the faces and concentrate on her breathing. She would fan the flame within as well as the flame outside.
Every night she would slowly increase the heat of her ball of flame. Slowly over the course of a month it would transition from orange to red and finally to blue. Within time she was able to change the size and heat of a single flame within a few moments.
