Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

"He's not going to like this," Kanashimi said as he and his twin made their way toward the mews for their family's small flight of messenger hawks. "As a matter of fact, he's going to dislike it rather violently."

Saito shrugged helplessly. "It's not as if we can do anything about it. You know how mother gets."

"True," Kanashimi said with a slight pause. Anyone else might have sighed, but he had enough control not to. "...Are you still planning on abdicating, should anything happen that would otherwise require you to take up leadership?"

He had been hoping Saito would change his mind there--in his opinion, his twin would be better able to handle the unique pressures of running a clan in Moon than their little brother would. The eventuality of either of them having to take up the reins was slim, but existed. That was on top of the fact that Makoto would be subjected to undue scrutiny in the position, which was definitely undesirable given his condition.

Their mother, and Tatsuya's for that matter, thought that he would do fine, especially with diplomatic ties to a proper ninja village as he had. Of course, neither of them knew about the phoenix. Still.

Unfortunately, Saito didn't hesitate. "Yes, I'm sorry. You know why."

He did, as a matter of fact, even though he disliked it now more than ever. And the 'why' oughtn't to be said outside, where people could potentially hear. "Fine. I suppose if it ever comes up, there won't be that many people you'd have to explain it to."

Saito gave him an uncomfortable look, but said nothing. It was true, though; should it ever happen, Makoto would be the only one he'd have to convince of anything. And while it would indeed be basically dumping everything on the youngest--since there were no remaining relatives in either main branch family he could pass it to--that was, technically, his twin's decision.

Apparently he felt it was better for a Jinchuuriki to run the clan than a spy. He might have a point, but it was still annoying.

They reached the mews, a large enclosed and wire-grated area on the forest-side edge of their held territory. It would seem to be a prime target for attack, but there were subtle seals placed here and there around the place that kept most hostility out, and the Shrine didn't really find a flock of birds that usually didn't do all that much to be a good target.

Kanashimi tapped the gate lightly with chakra to unlock it--there was a key, but he hadn't been given one and didn't feel like picking the lock through conventional means--and stepped in, Saito following closely and shutting the mesh door behind them. The hawks, trained to land on a perch when people entered, all fluttered down from their darting around the high enclosure and higher perches to land on the low-level perches set up for them. He didn't even have to whistle.

Which was good, as that always took him a few tries. Musical he was not.

Their mother wanted the letter to get there quickly, but neither of them did. Trading a glance with Saito, Kanashimi went for one of the blue-banded hawks instead of the red-banded ones. It was just as reliable--all of their messenger birds were--but not quite as fast. It would take a few days for the round trip instead of just a couple. It was easily passed off to Makoto hanging onto the letter without replying longer than he did.

And finding a clan member to deliver the letter to was the easiest thing to get one of these birds to do. He stopped at the chosen bird and made a clicking noise, three times. It held out the leg with the band on it obediently, and he tied the letter onto it with a thin, tough cord. When he drew back, the bird hopped onto his outstretched arm. Once he and Saito reached the door, all of the others took off into the air again, going back to whatever they had been doing beforehand.

"Go to Makoto," he said to the bird slowly and clearly. "In Wind Country." They were smart enough to know basic locations, and it would make it easier for the bird to find him if Kanashimi gave it a country.

It preened its wings a bit, then got into a 'ready' position on his arm. He lifted it up and the hawk took off into the air, turning when it reached a height to zoom due west. They watched it until it was a brown speck on the horizon even to Saito's eyes, and then turned to head in.

"I'm not looking forward to the response," he said while they made their way back to the main clan house.

Saito shrugged, making his deep blue cloak swirl around him. "It's out of our hands now."
