Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

There were more than a few things that Sabaku needed to take care of since his recent arrival back in Stone, but time was not of the essence and he could afford a quick pit stop. They say that the battles of legendary foes echo through time and if you listen closely enough, you can almost sense the past battle itself. Sabaku had caught wind of his own Superior, Amaya, going toe to toe with a foreigner from cloud. If he recalled correctly, he to was a superior among the people of cloud. What he wouldn't give to witness such a spectacle. Alas all he could do was visit the blood and sweat stained grounds that were the coliseum in which that great battle was fought.

Sabaku slowly walked out into the grounds, centered within the confines of the building. Rows of seats line the inner walls of this magnicificant monument. He could only guess as to how loud it could be with a full house. Taking a deep breath and admiring the surroundings, Sabaku couldn't help but appreciate this place for what it was. A place for those of friendship or even rivalries, to test their meddle against one another. It was all in good sport and usually nobody was seriously injured. Kneeling down for a moment, he took the dirt into his hands and rubbed his fingers with it. He could almost sense the power resonating from this place, the echoes of power in time. Great amounts of chakra condensed into a singular location, seeming to have a lasting effect on the area. Sabaku would linger a moment and see what became of this day.

It had been some time since she was last summoned onto the Citadel grounds, the nerves building up within her body as she walked the dark corridors leading to the fighting area. Flashes of light that shone between the stone pillars illuminated her features, the usually unseen inscriptions scarred into her skin being momentarily displayed. Their view would not last, as bandages were being self applied up her neck and around her face, with the exception of her eyes. Tightening their hold, she glanced towards her palms, adjusting the forearm guards traditionally worn by ANBU all the while a single mantra flowed from her lips.

"Only through pain can you be appeased. Only through pain can you be appeased. Only through pain can you be appeased"

She stopped near the opening to the grounds, her gaze showing no emotions behind their stare as her eyes remained unblinking. Her body, halfway cloaked in the shadows would face Sabaku direction and despite the distance between them he would be capable of feeling that familiar look from her staring eyes. For him it would be a realization that she, who had gave him access to the village was also a member of the villages shadow corps. This could potentially shed some light on some of his internal questions surrounding the nature of their first encounter.

A white, porcelain mask with half painted dark green and the other section white was pressed to her face, her eyes widening as it was fitted. She'd disappear, reappearing in a squatting position yards away from her opponent, squatting. With her head down, her breathing was completely controlled while an inaudible whisper flowed with her lip's movement.

"Jashin accept the pain that will be dealt"

Looking up, her eyes locked on to Sabaku and became unwavering in their focus. All the while both her palms resided behind her back, dug into individual pouches along her backside. There was no need to entertain unnecessary conversation when the purpose of the exercise was already clear. This was a training fight against those in the Corps, a no hold's bar testament to their growing ability to do what was required within the village.

There was no room for emotional attachments, especially by those who were the living shadows of the village. Maybe guardians did not understand this but for a trained agent as she wad, it was everything.

Walking into the sparring grounds, Megami was slightly clad that it seemed Sabaku wasn't very hard for her to track. She had the Goddess to thank for that. She hadn't been back in the village for very long, she'd probably left Cloud about a week after Sabaku did, so at most all she had done was visit her old home in Arcadia to take a shower and pick up a change of clothes. Her various uniforms and armors weren't always the most practical for wearing around the village when she wasn't on duty, and certainly not if she didn't want to be recognized by each and every last person under the sun. She walked into small, slightly lit arena, dressed in a blouse, a leather hooded jacket, paired with black trousers and boots. A pair of sunglasses rested comfortably on her face, hands in her pocket. Taking account of her surroundings, she noticed Sabaku rubbing some dirt on his palms, and another person making adjustments to their gear. They wore a white mask known of ANBU to wear, how interesting. Obviously given that this was a place to spar, it was clear these two were going to have a little show of strength and skill. She didn't aim to get involved, was simply here to involved. Should one of them look toward her, she'd give a small salute with her index and middle finger and head up into the little stands.

The seats, or benches really, weren't all that comfortably. It was quite clear that this place could use an upgrade. Still, the pink haired guardian leaned back, resting her elbows on the seats behind her. Megami watched the two below her, observing mannerisms before the real event happened. Sabaku seemed to be his usually self, confident yet, she almost wanted to say she noticed a bit of hesitation? Megami couldn't say she'd really ever seen too much of Sabaku in action. So this would be something to log away in the back of her brain. The other person, someone she wasn't familiar with in any capacity, and therefore had no information on, seemed very concise, calculating even. There was precision in their movements. Megami could tell this would at least be a worthy adversary for Sabaku. She couldn't help but look forward to this spar. A guardian sparring with an ANBU. Let's see how the teachings compare.

Although, for being a mere spectator, Megami had to admit sitting in the sidelines and making notes would potentially get kind of bland. So, she'd brought a small pouch of snacks and drinks in there. Maybe she'd get lucky and there would be someone else here to keep her company. Either way, she's sure she'll end up making calls from the sidelines, or cheering where necessary. That's what the 'crowds' were meant to do. Now it was just a matter of waiting for things to get started. She loved a good fight.

The Cake is a Lie? (Sabaku VS Keshi)

Not too far from where Sabaku admired the quality of the assembly ground’s arena-like sparring ground, a disturbance shifts the pebbles and sand. A steel hatch was unearthed, and lifted back for what must have been the first time in what seemed like an eternity. The metal creaked an unbearing squeal, and the overwhelming scent of motor oil and fuel ushered out a rising plume of industrial steam. “Pheeeeeeeew” the sound of a familiar adolescent could be heard faintly from within the howling gusts of steam. The noxious gas encored a few seconds longer, before petering out and reveal the lad responsible for it. Jomei appeared in rare form, setting the hatch back down and clamping it shut with a turning handle. “Pardon me, pardon me” Jomei said with apologetic tone. “Nothing to cause alarm, here. Just a subsystem check… All systems are green-lit in Chamber 36-Wu.” Nearly blinded by his thick welding goggles, the quirky lad observed Sabaku intently, examining him like he would a stranger. Something did feel strange, there, but in a familiar way. However, the strangeness he felt wasn’t coming from the dim image of Sabaku kneeling there.

“Is that you, Basaku?” Jomei asked needlessly as he came to realize the guardian for himself. He then pushed the pitch-black googles up to his forehead, and took a few paces towards his friend. With every movement he made, there was a new note to make of his appearance, which was less like a ninja, and more like a mechanic today. He left his uniform at home in favor of gray coveralls. The zipper was down to his rib-cage, and the entire suit was baggy and damp from his exploits below ground. The sleeves were sloppily rolled and off-balance. He still wore his standard flack jacket on top, and it was stained with spots of oil and soot. Draped over his waist was an ebony rubber apron. His boots were muddy and worn, and rather than an arsenal of weapons, he wore an actual a pouch fit with mechanic’s tools. Alas, not all of the ninja were inspired by the thrill of battle, today.

With his soot-covered cheeks flushed red by the exfoliating steam, Jomei seemed both exhausted and cheerful in the face of his friend of sorts, and took note of his activities, seemingly wasting the day away there. “Really, I have never seen someone stare so hard at a lump of carbon before” he admitted as he watched the soil pinched between Sabaku’s fingers wither to dust. ”If I would have known you were that easy to entertain, I would have brought one of those cat-toys with the pole and strings out here.” Instead, Jomei brought a bottle of water, and he paused to sip a few generous gulps. “Ah. Seriously though, you look like someone just nabbed your last granite cake or something.” Jomei was perceptive, and as he made a little humor, his sight wandered, seeking out the negative vibe that triggered a warning sensation within him before. He laid sight upon another familiar face watching from the battlements, but Light wasn’t one to rustle his jimmies, either. The proverbial light-bulb flicked on in his head, and he came to recognize the ritual of combat at hand. “Oh wait... Somebody’s about to get served, aren’t they?” The only question remaining now, was “who's your opponent?” The stranger wasn’t exactly hidden, and somewhat mirrored Sabaku’s ready pose from afar. There was a feminine form, who uncurled from her knelt position and revealed herself as the one chosen, or seeking, to face Jomei’s colleague. Her form was worn and bandage, and her face was covered with a smooth ivory mask. “Of course” Jomei spotted her and realized with a huff. Not a day could pass without the Anbu causing racket somewhere, or so they say.

QUEEN OF BATTLE
ab4a5dd1-b2c2-489b-8681-0edd4a79950f_zpsprm2adiq.png

It would seem that the future leaders of Iwagakure had set their sights on testing one another which was great considering monthly evaluations were cutting close to overdue. How Amaya came to know of such a fated meeting was up in the air. Perhaps she could smell a good battle brewing, perhaps she kept close tabs on Lightening which led her here, or perhaps it was fate. The how was not important in comparison to the why. She needed to be there. She would need to know the skills and capabilities of her members and what better way was there to truely grasp their individual skill and potential. Amaya found a seat next to a well dressed pink haired friend. Surely she did not know Amaya would be there as this was completely impromptu. Amaya would run her fingers through her dark curls and ruffle them a bit. Her emerald green eyes challenging the integrity of their skills but in a good way that expressed her curiosity. Her smile was faint in nature as usual her face revealed no clues as to what she was thinking or feeling but there she sat poised. Amaya would lean back with her arms folded and with one leg crossing the other. "Welcome back, I trust your travels were of delight? What's going on here, it looks interesting..."

Sabaku felt the presence of one not so unfamiliar. A figured partially cloaked in shadows near the entrance made itself known. The presence was draped in the visage of white, the bandages serving a purpose to cover something unknown. He could almost literally feel her unblinking gaze piercing his armor.... It was the same girl from the gates... Was she following him? It was after these pondering thoughts that he noticed it. The ivory like mask gave way to all inquiries he might have harbored until then. The mask, the tense attitude and stance, it all told a story, except the story was cold, cryptic and undecipherable... such is the way of the shadow corps, the ANBU. But what did the ANBU want with Sabaku? Why would they assign this veiled individual to tail him... His thoughts were cast aside as she spoke.

"Jashin accept the pain that will be dealt"

Sabaku would arise from the ground, dropping the blood stained dirt that was just recently being admired by the young guardian. Dusting his hands clean of the rich soil, he would take a slight step to directly face this mysterious enigma. He knew not of this Jashin, and was taken aback by the mention of pain. Clearly this anbu meant to do him some harm, even relish in it and offer it up in sacrifice to some possible pain loving creep... This anbu, and her Jashin friend, seemed a bit on the darker side. And Sabaku was just the opposition needed to confront that darkness. He took a vow long ago and would uphold it through any danger, friend or foe.

And the Goddess shall rectify that pain, friend...

Their respective gazes were locked in a staring contest that would seem to last forever, despite it being only moments before the serious matter was interjected by a familiar face. Jomei appeared in all his... greasy glory. Sabaku had been so focused on the white masked assailant, he scarcely took the time to notice his comrade in arms... so many arms... These were not the normal clothes of a ninja, instead he looks like a mechanic of sorts, I suppose SOMEBODY has to grease the wheels of this metaphorical wagon. Misplacing his original name was something of a regular occurrence around here... either his name was hard to pronounce of Sabaku was easily forgettable. First Back, then Celery, and now even Jomei mocks him.

As graceful as she was in battle and mind, so to did she stroll so casually into the arena. Sabaku took a small length of time to notice his mentor, Light, enter the stands. I suppose this was the day she got to see whether or not she taught him well, or rather if he gave the training thought and applied it in practice. Sabaku was very unsure how she found him or even knew he would be here, he gave a quick wink before turning what attention he could spare to his friend, Jomei.

I'm glad to see you still haven't lost your sense of humor old friend, but as you can see... this "carbon" is not the carbon you want to be standing on right about now. The only thing that is to be served here is glory, and I shall have my fill of it...

Sabaku would wait for Jomei to remove himself of the area, lest be caught in the potential crossfire. Sabaku would need the entirety of his wits about him for what was to come... This was indeed going to be a battle of strength, will and determination. Who will come out victorious and prove their teachings the better. The Guardian vs the Anbu, Light vs Dark, Sabaku vs... whoever this girl was...

Once Jomei was out of the equation, Sabaku would cautiously make his way to one side of the area allowing the masked would-be granite cake thief room to take up position. Once she arrived at location, it would be only moments before the battle begun. It seemed that more and more people would begin to make their grand entrance. It seems the great leader of the anbu, the queen of battle if you would, found her way into the midst of this coliseum. It seemed both Sabaku and this female anbu would test their might for the entertainment of their superiors. Today we would know which was the great teacher, the greater path... The Guardians who stood in the light, or the Anbu who stalk from the shadows. Sabaku would whisper words of encouragement to himself, only those with the keenest of perception would make out his words.

I am your will, guide my path to victory...

Sabaku was as ready as he could ever be, in mere moments the battle would begin.

Those who entered were nothing more than shades to her vision, the ANBU's objective having been the sole focus of her gaze. While it seemed to defy human instinct not to acknowledge other presences, her training and upbringing had all but stripped away the natural impulse to divert her gaze from Sabaku. She could feel it, her heartbeat slowing down as her breathing became controlled. The two would make their initial moves in the coming seconds, she saw it in his eyes as he finally readied his body. Raising her form, she leaned forwards slightly to balance her weight along her toes, fully prepared to launch her body...

The clock's hand would finally move...

The Cake is a Lie? (Sabaku VS Keshi)

And so, the momentous occasion was ready to get underway, and Jomei excused himself from the field with haste. But before he turned his back, he had a few choice words of encouragement for Sabaku. “She doesn’t look that scary”, he commented before revealing, and promptly loading his grappling gun with a fresh vial of compressed Co2, and a hard-stone tip. “Whatever you do, don’t embarrass yourself down here, Basaku… There are cameras mounted everywhere, on a constant feed to the central watchtower.” Jomei pointed at a single camera visible from a nearby wall; one of many around the Citadel. He then fired his gun, creating a racket that echoed far and wide. And as the reeling mechanism lifted him away, he added “remember, If you flop in front of the feed... you’re never ever going to live it down, buddy.” Just as quickly as he emerged from below ground, Jomei reached his hook, and flipped himself over the top of the balcony’s inner-edge. Landing squarely, he turned back to face his friend and the unknown competitor, who seemed to resemble a blank-slate fresh out of the black-ops’ reconditioning program. “You got this one dude, show ‘em what you’re made of.” His Cheshire grin widened incrementally to the increase of pressure for the competitors on the sparring ground.

“You better get good, or get wrecked.”

With Jomei's kind words of "encouragement" and his placement within the stands, the fight was on! If what Jomei said was true, it could be possible that a great deal of the anbu could be watching this bout... Seeing as there were no other potential threats on the battlefield, Sabaku could focus entirely on this bandaged anbu. He shuffled his feet and ignored everything else except this girl... Sabaku's training would surely pay off in this match. Releasing the inner workings of the mystical powers that the Goddess had bestowed upon her Warrior of Light, he could feel his body becoming lighter, faster, unpredictable. The energy surged throughout his body, and the visual que of his eyes roared to life, emanating a luminous glow.

In the blink of an eye, Sabaku manged to pull a note from his bag and attach it.... to himself. An age old trick taught by an old friend, hopefully it wouldn't come to needing to blow himself up a little bit though... Sabaku retrieved his weapon from his bag, seemingly at the same time as his opponent. Just as he finished that action, there was a -thwip- as the sound of a speeding projectile shot past him. He could hear it stick into the wall behind him. It seems this girl was in the anbu for a reason, as she was already upon him. Once and then twice, the first hit landing square, the second only grazing him. At first glance the attacks seemed harmless, weak attacks... this anbu had earned the title... having sneaked explosive notes onto her kunai... he should have seen that coming... What's more is this girl surely must have been a child... throwing a water balloon? Perhaps there was more to this silent, non-blinking girl.

Sabaku had a plan in mind, and begun to form seals. A subtle -poof- of smoke and 4 Sabakus were now present on the field. A clone jutsu was always handy, hopefully this girl wasn't too keen. But she seemed like every definition of it, and surely would pinpoint Sabaku out of the group. A few seconds later, a burst of water came rushing towards him, he barely had time to dodge the strike... He was wet enough as it was, he wasn't due for another bath so soon. Sabaku needed to pump it up a few more notches, seeing as she already hit him twice and nearly twice more. Sabaku reached down deep within himself and pulled out a font of power and released his trademark fighting stance. Supercharging himself with energy, he begun to shape his reality bending powers, releasing it in such a way that seemed to distort the reality around himself. Multiple afterimages created by his energy appeared and faded at random moments nearby around him, giving the illusion that he was in many places at once. If this couldn't confuse the anbu, he wasn't sure what would.

Sabaku formed more seals while his clones prepared a triple attack. Reaching down into the ground, he pulled out a sizable chunk of rock and slammed it directly into the girl. There was a subtle noise that could be heard, possibly a limb being hurt in some fashion. Seems she tried to block it with her hands... Hopefully it was worth the pain. Still she came with all her fury, luckily for him though, she didn't know which Sabaku was the real Sabaku. His clones were quickly being found out though, he would need a new tactic. As his clones performed a trifecta fisting action into Keshi, Sabaku himself side stepped another attack that surely would have hurt.... this girl meant business.

The chakra flow within her body would begin distributing concentrated amounts into the hairs on her head, the metabolic rate of each hair follicle superficially exploding. This caused the dreadlocks to grow at a sped up rate which the chakra also changing the nature of the hair structure itself. Each lock, as it grew seemed to have the strand which composed it begin to spike outwards until her backside was covered in a cloak of spines. Her gaze during this time however never faltered from her target but instead the pupils would dilate and relax, Sabaku's form fully ingrained into her visual memory. She'd watch the change in his body, understanding the nature of the power he had sought to unbind. Regardless of how he may have viewed such a power to her it was nothing more than one of the many cursed inscriptions throughout the shinobi world. There was no difference in thought about him using such a thing as she equally possessed a cursed marking, one which she had no reason to release and allow influence over her.

Sliding both her palms from within the pouches on her waistline, multiple kunai knives rested between her fingertip. Standard shinobi weapon's which she allowed to fall towards the ground after relinquishing her grasp over them. Instead of hitting the each, each individually levitated in front of her form, the gleam of light running along the ninja wire each had been attached to. It was obvious that she was using the wires as conduits of her chakra to keep each kunai suspended in air though the source of the wires itself seemed to become lost under the bandages wound around her hands. There was understanding that he had hesitated after equipping his own weapon and she did not wait to wonder why, independently motioning a hand into her belt pouch. The movement was swift and before anyone knew it a needle had embedded itself in the walling behind Sabaku. A dark purple stream ran down the wall, the contents of the needle obviously a concentrated poison, having missed their mark which was a testament to Sabaku's evasion capabilities. If one were to think about blinking to focus on what happened prior they would have missed a sudden burst of speed from one of the many levitating kunai, as before Sabaku knew it the kunai had embedded itself into the flesh of his upper arm, missing the vital shoulder joint that she was actually targeting. The strike though was not the end as a sudden ignition of an explosive note, which had been wrapped around the handle, caused a sudden explosion. In the timeframe of the initial ignition Sabaku seemed to naturally manage to foresee the second kunai that was fired in the first's shadow. Though he avoided the weapon striking his body, having only a cut along his opposite shoulder, the weapon also would explode as soon as it had made some contact.

She did not take time to savor mild successes, knowing the potency of those tags were not enough to become complacent. While the smoke was still covering his body and drifting away, another item struck his body though this time causing a rush of water to splatter across him. The water was far from ordinary though as it was infused with chakra, effectively marking him. While the smoke finally began settling, she interlocked her fingers and began to weave a combination of handseals. As she completed the handseal sequence, the smoke diffused and revealed that while within her opponent had create clones of himself which completely gave her the inability to target only him. Unable to take the time to analyze which may be which, she could feel the water building in her gut and quickly decided to expelled the kneaded chakra. Behind her mask, a parting of her lips caused water to cascade like a waterfall onto the ground, pooling upon itself while rotating rapidly. The water condensed upon itself and fired outwards towards Sabaku, seemingly attracted to his form despite having been amongst the clones. Unfortunately the attack was evaded and she did not have the luxury of guessing if that had been the real target or not.

Natural instinct took over when she was attacked, watching the earth before her eyes suddenly morph and fire towards her in an extended column. Unable to dodge the move, she instead flattened both palms outwards while her needled hair overlapped her arms, catching the force of the pillar and preventing the jutsu from striking anything vital upon her torso. Though she had the additional protecting of the hardened hair spines, the force was enough that she could feel ripples of pain coming from her hands. The pain itself did nothing to throw her off however as she was all but tolerant to much higher degrees of pain than this. Her clan were known to baptize the members from early children in experiencing and overcoming pain, learning to simply associate it with their lord's will. Ever unblinking and though Sabaku could not tell, beneath her mask the anbu would find an eerie grin forming along her lips. Her lord was going to enjoy the sacrifice.

As the coat if spines retracted, both palms weaved a quick series of handseals before the nature of her chakra expanded around her body from a single exhale. The wind natured chakra of her's causing a translucent casing of wind to circle around her immediate body. This chakra would expand and explode outwards with howling gust towards Sabaku who managed to avoid the highly condensed chakra waves hidden within. Though that could not be said for one of his clones, which was struck a second later by a senbon needle. It was apparent that the handseals performed before were not for the wind chakra but had instead been another jutsu that rode the tail end of the wind blast. The Senbon itself would glow once embedded, causing a purple discoloration to flow against it's form. She knew what she struck was a clone and quickly fired off a trio of small needles attached with bells, managing to strike the clothing of another clone, though missing the other two which embedded into the dirt and ground of the arena floor. Two out of four were known to her, which mean that she had a fifty percent chance of striking her intended target this time. Digging into her belt pouch, the Anbu's planned action was forced into adjusting as the clones, two of which she knew were clones and one suspect moved in tandum. The jutsu of choice was teamed by the trio, being the same as the one before though she was all but forced to utilize the same method as prior to advert harm to her immediate body. Reactively using her hardened hair as extra armor over her arms and hands, she intercepted the tandem spires of earth which shot up from the ground. Narrowing her gaze behind her mask, she heard the audible snapping while the force pushed her back from the impact source. She knew they were broken, she knew fully well the feeling of having bones broken and fractured which sent a sensation of euphoria from the overwhelming pain.

Almost giving way to the kind of individual Sabaku was dealing with, she still reached outwards and grabbed hold of one of the many lingering kunai around her. Her pupils suddenly widening at the sensation felt by her body as the broken capitate and ulna bones were still utilized. Without missing a beat she fired another kunai towards the real Sabaku, though known to her at the time, who seemed to dodge at the last possible tick of time. Landing on the ground, her form would squat as she controlled her breathing, a trail of sweat running down the edge of her forehead beneath the mask. Between the pain flowing through her body and equally the euphoria of it, she showed no physical sign of being hindered by the broken bones in her palms. Instead it was almost as if her body language was welcoming it.

The bandages along her arms relaxed their tightness, hanging loosely from her ebony skin. Marked visibly upon each forearm was a sealing formula, which activated. Numerous puffs of smoke would be seen, kunai knives firing outwards from the seals only to suddenly halt their trajectories and hover in the air. This time around she would see just how agile he was capable of being.

QUEEN OF BATTLE
ab4a5dd1-b2c2-489b-8681-0edd4a79950f_zpsprm2adiq.png

Amaya remained silent as things kicked off. She'd watch the two combatants closely as they displayed their individual style of valor. This battle was quite something and had only been about ten seconds. Amaya was especially impressed by the speed of their drsw, execution of abilities, and hand seals. They were truely in a league of their own but with a trained eye, one could tell the settle difference between then. The emerald green eyes of the Queen of Battle remained stern, fixed on the two. While they fought in the moment, Amaya precieved the battle in near real time, their movements relating to a system in her mind in which input data is processed within milliseconds so that it is available virtually immediately as feedback and thus the out come of this battle was already known to her. Amaya would cross one leg over the other and fold her arms. Her face revealed nothing but a faint smile. Ever so calculating, she would watch in anticipation to the next action just to see if she was right. Sometimes, a true fighter can surprise you, evolve in the moment and transcend expectations. Perhaps their was such a soul here today. Amaya raised an eyebrow to the water balloon that puddled the field and chuckled when the anbu used the water as a high pressured offensive jutsu. Impressive and quite ingenious really but the timing was a bit poor in her opinon. However, she commended the well placed strategy. "She fights like a young woman, nothing held back. Admirable... but mistaken..." The Guardian was quick on his feet and had plenty of opportunities to capsize the battle early but instead seemed more focused on setting himself up for a better position. This was a good strategy as he was clearly gaining insight into his opponent and her abilities. He used his defense well and he even managed to cause his opponent some real discomfort with one of Amaya's favorite jutsu's.
"Look at them go, reminds me of the good old days when I was young like that. I'm excited to see what they do next."

The turn out for a simple spar was actually something that Megami found surprising. The boy from the mines, Jomei had crawled out of a tunnel or something and appeared to be in work clothes. He was watching it and making banter with the competitiors. Amaya had shown up as well and taken a seat next to her. She gave the woman a smirk as she sat down next to her, having been asked about her travels to cloud. "Ah, all in due time. We'll discuss it. I'm a little tired of the cold though."</B><i></i> Not too long after that, Sabaku and the as of this moment nameless ANBU opponent were starting. In the blink of an eye a flurry of preparatory actions went off. If half had not been simply drawing and preparing to take action, it may have been hard to follow, but soon after a number of other offensive actions went off as well. It was quick to say the least. Megami decided that as his mentor, she would focus more of her attention on Sabaku and his actions and reactions, while making a note to watch the competitor for observational purposes to see how Sabaku handled himself. Getting blown up twice with explosive notes was definitely something you would take note of. Definitely. She thought back to the time they were actually hunting explosive notes on the rooftop back when they first met. How ironic. But at least the opponent was thinking on their feet. Every little bit of damage counts. A good fighter was always someone that you should take note of, even in the event you are facing them or against someone you want to win.

Sabaku seemed to be hit with a couple basic strikes, and a water balloon. Nothing too serious at least for the time being. She couldn't help but smirk a little when Sabaku summoned clones. <B>"Quick thinking." The opponent was equally as resourceful, trying a multitude of attacks against Sabaku that would surely do more harm than good if they were to hit him. Knowing Sabaku was of the Seikon bloodline, she could only admire his quick speed and tenacity in combat. All at once, she watched as all the Sabaku's attacked together. Megami grinned and clapped. "Keep it up, Sabaku!" The pride was written all over the woman's face. Although, it was simply the beginning of combat, she shouldn't be so thrilled already. Still, the adrenaline of combat when people's lives are not at risk is few and far between.

Not moments later, Amaya made a comment next to her. She took note of her actions, and cleared her throat, composing herself. The tide of battle could easily go in either of the two competitor's favor. Sabaku hadn't brought anything vastly substantial to the show but it was obvious he was quick on his feet and at least taking the time to prepare for whatever he was going to do. Something she herself preferred to do. "It's certainly exciting. I remember sparring with the other trainee's back in the academy. Broke my arm once, even. They show a lot of promise. I'm curious to see how the ANBU approaches the next set of actions. If anything, they're very resourceful, even if Sabaku is rather quick on his feet." It was good to admire both. Megami then reached into her bag and pulled out a bottle of water. She took one out to offer to Amaya should she want it, then as a second thought offered one to Jomei as well, snacks if they wanted any, though most were just random candy bars and chips. Given that some spars could go all day, you could never be too prepared. Turning her attention to Jomei, she asked a question she'd been meaning to ask since he showed up. "What were you doing anyway, I didn't know we even had a tunnel system reaching this far." Such a curious shinobi, that one.

Re: I was told there'd be cake [Requesting Keshi]

Time... There never seemed to be enough of it. This is what Sabaku needed and he sought to buy himself a small helping of it. Sabaku sunk into the soil covered arena floor, disappearing from sight. His clones would keep this young Anbu girl busy while he performed the actions he needed to prepare himself for his next strategy. It was quiet down there, surrounded by the cold damp soil. Fore the moment, it seemed his foe was unaware of his location. Forming a few signs, the air around him begun to siphon towards him like a vacuum. Step one complete. Next he focused a portion of his chakra to the air around his fists, creating a mini weather anomaly around them. Given the correct placement, surely it would adversely affect his target. His steps were complete, and his plan ready.

Sabaku burst forth from the ground atop a wave of dirt, riding it like a surf board on a wave. While not a powerful technique, it sure looked cool. After a time, he would ride the wave into the girl, perhaps causing a little bit of damage on the way. Once he cleared the surface of the earth and revealed himself, he reached into his pouch and pulled out a weapon and attuned his chakra to it, activating a special effect. Sabaku directed the wave towards the girl and landed a direct hit. But instead of flesh, his fist met ice. The girl had thrown up a defensive icy shield to protect herself from the blow. Sabaku continued this tactic a few more times to no avail. Meanwhile his clones had some luck in hitting the agile girl, but only until they were shredded to pieces and dissipated. This wasn't working out the way he had hoped it would... He would need to formulate another strategy.

[MFT Actions are on standby, quick crappy post... almost NO time to RP this week, wrote this up in like 15 minutes... sorry lol]

She reeled her levitating kunai back in, the wiring which they were attached to recoiling as her chakra worked to manipulate the metal alloy. It was one thing to be an attacking type if individual but it was another to be able to anticipate and adjust ones strategy during the battle. In this case given the number difference she had to forgo all out attacking in leu of a more passive aggressive approach in order to thin the herd or so to speak. Crossing her arms she'd prepare again for his attack noting that this time she wouldn't just be defending...

(Short post is short. Forgive me)

Sabaku reached into his bag and pulled out a special device. Pulling the pin, he let loose his plan. A device capable of rendering others of a similar nature inert for a short while. Those explosive notes hurt a bit and Sabaku would prefer to have a break from this girl's surprises. Preparing for a physical assault towards his target, Sabaku concentrated his efforts and his body heat begun to raise. A split second later, flames arose and combined with the wind that was already flowing around him. Fire plus wind... a good combination. To the others spectating, this clever combination would give Sabaku the appearance of being lit a flame, the wind rushing around him continuously feeding into the flames giving them extra fuel to burn with. Sabaku was ready...

Utilizing his inborn prowess, Sabaku stepped through reality and assaulted the girl from every possible direction, his speed so quick that it would appear that multiple copies of him appeared to strike in tandem. Unfortunately it seemed that she was prepared, perhaps even beginning to predict his movements and accounting for his speed... this just wouldn't do. She did however leave a lovely present behind. A number of kunai were now sticking into Sabaku, this would surely leave a mark. Sabaku pried the sharp instruments from his flesh and burst towards the Anbu. One, two hits... faster... four more hits... even faster... Sabaku continued his assault, but not before breaking off his weapon inside the girl for added effect. Any action would result in it embedding further and causing slight damages to the girl.

Sabaku drew another unique weapon from his bag and readied them for action. His previous jutsu was coming to an end and he did a small backflip just before it collided with the girl. Not causing any significant damage by any means, but it served its purpose. Sabaku would prepare himself for another plan of action. Sabaku began to gather energy into his palm, utilizing his natural Seikon powers. The area around his hand, if anyone was paying attention, would begin to distort the reality emanating from the region his hand was. The area would twist and contract as Sabaku's reality bending powers took form. After gathering sufficient energy into his hands, he took it one step further. Pushing his own energy into the mix, he supercharged the reality matter and a bright arc of vivid light sprung forth, forming an energy blade comprised of a combination of his own energy and reality itself.

Just after he formed his blade of light, he felt the presence of his foe coming straight for him. Using his newly formed weapon in combination with his own super speed and nimble reflexes, Sabaku was able to dodge, side step and parry each and every one of his moves. To the viewers in the stand, his efforts would seem effortless, but in reality, or those with a super keen eye for battle would easily notice that it was not just skill involved, but a bit of luck as well. The girl repositioned herself before casting a technique that summoned forth a dark billowing coat of mist that enveloped the arena... Great, not it was cold, raining and now visibility was at an all time low.
