Sara looked out onto the icy tundra that was once the strong and indomitable shinobi shadow village known as of Kirigakure. A village destroyed practically overnight by a force of unknown means. Perhaps this was a similar showing of what had or will happen to her own village in time. But she would try her best to avoid such. Sara looked over her shoulder at her travel companion and leader for this quest, Jomei, as he grew closer to her. A swift wind blew over the ice, kicking up the snow that built up over it and passed her, sending a chill down her spine as she thought about her village and the current similarity between this one. She grabbed her coat and held it tighter around her body, a look of regret from going on this venture on her face. The cold rushed into her lungs with each word, making it difficult to speak concisely, “Shhhiii, Are yaaou sure this isss Kiriii.. Kiirigaaakure? It Doesn’t ssasseem to be much of a waater worllld.” Though the obviousness of ice being water fell short on the girl as she spoke to the man. It was her first time seeing snow, and if she had anything to do about it, it would be her last given how cold it was.
It must have been around -5 degrees right now, as the sun was starting to set in the distance, basking the once great village in a pink and blue glow. Though the wind was wiping fast, easily dropping the temperature at times to 20 degrees lower. The temperature would be dropping fast soon enough as night was approaching. Swirls of snow, like tornadoes, were being cast all across the ice ahead as the wind roared across it. Some were small, but others appearing the size of neighborhoods in the distance. Ahead where the sun shown, a few small projections could be seen atop of the smooth blue surface, black in color. A village or town of some sort hopefully rested on the death bed of Kirigakure, a survivors or treasure hunters camp perhaps, and it would be there only salvation most likely.
No life could be seen from where they stood, but Sara kept her hopes high, “I think I see some buildings or something up ahead.” She spoke loudly with Jomei nearer to her now, and the wind carrying her voice towards him. They had made this trek with enough supplies to last them a week or so, but the temperatures and harsh nature of Kirigakure had gotten the better of them, having them need to eat more along the way cut the supplies in half. Their tents and sleeping materials not made for the harsh weather that was plaguing this area added to dilemma that they were facing. Their food stocks froze days ago extending the life of it somewhat, but with the lack of materials to burn around, fire was of a harsh supply.
They would have to get to the camp site up ahead, and hope that the locals were friendly in nature. As they continued there trek into the lands of the Water Country, the temperature grew colder and colder as they got closer to the Shadow Village of the land. The epicenter of the barren wasteland ahead of them was Kirigakure, so it was only natural that the weather was only getting worse as they grew closer. Sara looked down at her feet and kicked the pile of snow that was just ahead, and growing on her shoe because of the snow flurries, feeling some of the snow’s water melting in her shoe. “This really, reaalllly, really su..suucks ya knnow.” It had been 6 days since they entered the snow encrusted area, and around the middle of the night on day 3 she had been complaining incessantly. Though the good news was around the beginning of this day she had quieted down quite a bit, except for this moment where hope shinned. “At leest Finnally, the first plac..ce with otters eround.” Her teeth chattered from the shaking of her shivering from the cold. A warning sign for sure, they would need to find shelter quickly.
Her hopes were high, finally finding someplace with people in this country. It was the first sign of actually civilized looking life, only having found broken down partial buildings during their travels, and no people what so ever having been around for some time. Though at the moment, it couldn’t be ascertained that there was any up ahead either, it looked more promising as more structures were around.
