Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Post 1: Acceptance

As a mercenary Shigeko has come to accept that most of the work she will be doing from now on will consist of odd jobs, not much action and adventure. She had to take work wherever she could find it, even though she felt less of herself. She went from being a high ranking shinobi to a simple body guard most of the time. This time seemed no different, she was first tasked to obtain a certain jewel from thieves. Nobody told her what this jewel was or why it was important, only that it was a family heirloom of sorts. What it was didn't matter to her, she knew her job and would get the money regardless, it was of no importance to her.

First, however, she needed to find these thieves, which wasn't too hard. Lowlifes such as these had a tendency to... brag. She simply had to follow the rumors, while not always the right path had a hidden layer of truth behind each. She was able to track the thieves to an old abandoned village on the far side of Moon Island. This village was tiny, and used to be a trading post before being raided by bandits. Those bandits soon left and it just became an area for thieves to hide out and exchange stolen goods.

Finding them was easy, infiltrating without being caught would be the hard part. She wrapped her head in a cloth, though it wasn't really necessary, it wasn't like she was well known or anything. She did, however, hide her chakra mark from Kirigakure, some people might know about it and may not even know the fate of the village. Disguised and ready she made her way to the abandoned village.

Post 2: Search

This village was the perfect place for thieves to hide out, desolate, empty, and seemingly under the control of no one. She had expected to find a place bustling with activity, like a market place for thieves, but that would be far too easy. No, any trading that was taking place was happening in secret, quiet areas, which made sense, this was a city of thieves and there is no rule on who you can an cannot steal from.

She knew she was being watched, walking around in broad daylight didn't do much for her disguise, but she certainly attracted attention. Most of these thieves had no shinobi training, they could pickpocket and run, but hiding was by no means their strong point. She could see arms, legs, partial parts of their heads where they stuck out to see her.

Tired of playing games she pulled out one of her throwing knives and struck the wood someone was hiding behind. He immediately retreated by Shigeko was already on his tail. Dropping down on him she took him to the ground, taking another knife and stabbing in next to his head. "I'm looking for someone, goes by the name of...." She had forgotten the name. "Jack and Jill?"

"Ja'kill?! I a-ain't knowin' n-nothin'" The man stuttered. He couldn't have been a thief, he seemed to be unable to face any danger. Lackey? Possibly. It was clear he was lying, its possible this "Ja'kill" person was famous among thieves but even then, if he truly knew nothing, he wouldn't be so scared.

"Well thats a shame...." Shigeko stated with a deadly tone in her voice. She dragged her knife on the ground next to the man's face, the sound of metal cutting earth making the man shudder even more. "See, i don't have much time, and someone like you might be too much of a liability to keep... alive" His eyes widened as she finished her sentence.

"Uh uh uh y-you just missed him actually, h-he should be on a boat leaving toward Garu Island, y-yeah." She smiled, why anyone would keep such a wimp as a lackey was beyond her, but it was good for her. She got off the man and let him get up before he ran.

Taking the knife she had she threw it, striking the man in the back of then neck, killing him.

Post 3: Alliance
Shigeko knew where the man was heading, there are few islands around so obtaining that information was easy, however she needed a way to get there. She made her way down toward what appeared to be a pier, must be where boats used to come for overseas merchants. In the distance she could see a ship, relatively large, making its way toward a collection of islands. With the few boats around and no reason for people to use this port she figured that is the boat with the jewel. She needed a boat herself and looked toward the pier to find a feuding trio.

She approached them, and found that was was only two members feuding, the small white haired girl and the big muscled brute. While Shigeko didn't quite make out the argument she did catch some important words, such as "Jewel" and "Island". She approached the group, wary of having their argument interrupted. While the two were away at arguing the third, a blonde in glasses with a terrible scowl, noticed her approach. "Can we help you?" His tone was threatening, while he seemed the most calm he also seemed to be more passive aggressive than anything.

When he spoke to her the other two stopped their bickering and turned to her as well. Their angry faces made Shigeko feel unwelcome, but she needed a boat and they had one. One thing she noticed is that these three didn't quite look like normal thieves, the girl was prim and proper, the brute looked like he belonged in the military, and the blonde looked like a doctor's student. "I was wondering if you get me to wherever that boat is going." She nodded toward the large ship that was beginning to disappear in the distance.

They looked at her like she was stupid. She already knew the upcoming question as to why. "They have something that belongs to me, I simply want it back." The white hair girl scoffed at Shigeko and began to walk away. "There will be yen involved once its returned." She attempted to goad the trio.

"Not interested." The brute began to walk away. It was clear they were after said jewel as well, but they weren't thieves. Treasure hunters maybe?

"Whatever reason you have for obtaining the jewel can be dealt with once we have it." While this obtained the white haired girl's attention, she was still scowling at her. "We get to them, we get the jewel and my item, and we leave, simple."

"What makes you think we need your help?" The girl finally spoke up.

"If you didn't, you'd already be on their tail, would you not?" They realized she was right, but they didn't trust her either way.

"Come along, but don't get in our way." The blonde responded, though the other two gave him angry looks. She was lying to them, of course, the moment she could get the jewel she'll be far away from these people.

Post 4: Garu Island
It was impossible to catch up to the boat they were chasing, they could only watch and follow from a far, keeping their eyes on it so they don't lose its trail. Unless the people on the ship watched their backside it would be impossible to spot the substantially smaller shit, hopefully. During this time Shigeko took the opportunity to learn what their goals were.

"And what exactly does that matter to you?" Met with immediate rejection from the white haired girl. Shigeko could tell she was the brat of the group, the two of them were likely not to get along.

"Please excuse Noa, she's a bit crabby. I'm Shin, and that guy over there... we just call him Red." The blonde responded, giving a smile that Shigeko could tell was fake and laced with malice and ill-content. Strangely enough, while Noa was a plan brat, she mistrusted this man the most. Why he was so willing to give information was beyond her, she expected he knew of her intentions and planned to kill her when he got the chance.

"I'm sure you could steal a jewel of equal value some other place." Shigeko questioned, she knew she needed to avoid questions about the jewel, lest they become suspicious, but with all the runaround she was beginning to wonder what was so special about the jewel.

"Its not a simple jewel," Red spoke up, he seemed to be the quite yet quickly angered type, "this 'jewel' is actually a key to treasure on the island they're going to, and we're not thieves." After that Shigeko was unable to get any more answers out of them. The rest of the trip was quiet and uneventful.

They slowly approached the island they saw the other ship dock on, they docked further down hidden by trees to avoid being seen, but it is quite possible they were seen anyway. They exited out of the ship and snuck around, taking in the scenery. Garu island wasn't the largest island around but it certainly seemed that way. The entire place as a ruin, a ruin within a mountain that barely let any light in, but what little light was let through the cracks was bright enough to illuminate the entire place. They didn't specifically know where the people went, they had to follow the sounds of footsteps and voices.

Post 5: Garu Island
The group followed the sounds of footsteps and voices as quietly as possible, they knew if they made enough noises that the group they're following would be able to hear them. They weren't sure when they should strike, while Shigeko only wanted the jewel back all this complication has piqued her own interest behind this "treasure." They followed closely behind until they came out to a vast open area within the cave. It didn't really look like a cave at this point. There were rivers down below, grass and trees growing, however they were hued a sort of turquoise rather than green. Everything was out in the open now, and their target could be seen, along with 10 of his lackeys.

fjGQn2O.png
"Open the seal." He commanded in a monotone tone, handing one of his lackeys the jewel, the key. This lackey began to run toward the large tree in the middle.

"We need to stop him." Red declared and jumped out into the open, before Shigeko or the other two could stop him. While they were angered that he had given their position away, they couldn't hesitate, hesitation meant failure, so they followed. Coming face to face with their target they were, initially, fooled by his failed appearance. The lackeys, however, were child's play. Either he wasn't expecting to be chased or he was confident in his own abilities and the others were canon fodder.

The battle began immediately, almost like a game, Shigeko stood in the far back while Noa and Red took on the enemies from up close. Red was even more of a frontline, he tanked a lot of the damage coming forward while Noa used her blade to strike down the enemies unhindered. Shigeko, being a ranged fighter, either used her throwing blades or her wind ninjutsu. Strangely Shin remained stoic during most of the ordeal.

As previously stated the lackeys were just that, lacking, they were cleared out easily, mostly by Shigeko and her area of effect abilities. They were able to take down all except one, however they were unaware of it. They turn their attention to their leader. Clearly this will be like a mini boss.

Post 6: Ja'Kill
"Well that was pretty lackluster." Noa was taunting Ja'kill, but nobody was laughing. There was an eerie feeling in the air, everybody in the group felt it but Noa was seemingly oblivious. Strangely enough, the group feared this man, his stoic stare throughout them defeating each of his lackeys. As if he were analyzing them.

He was quiet while he reached for his blade before dashing forward, quicker than any of them could realize. He instantly appeared in front of Shin, kneeing the blonde in the stomach, sending him flying away. He had little time to react, and Shigeko wasn't even sure what he could do himself as he never participated in battle.

Shigeko clearly knew Ja'kill's next target was her, he was going for the backline before taking out the tank, however Red, while hot headed and reckless, had leaped into the fray as soon as Ja'kill charged at Shin, however he was too slow to stop the attack on Shin but he was able to protect Shigeko. Taking this opportunity she jumped back to get away from the man. Strangely, the other two didn't seem to be all that concerned for Shin.

It was a stand-off for a second before Noa charged with her blade, an amazing expertise of her blade that Shigeko was somewhat impressed to see. Fighting against one person wasn't really her own expertise, from wind jutsu, so she took to her throwing knives. She jumped around throwing her knives while Ja'kill was preoccupied, however she didn't attack as often as she usually would as she didn't know the fighting patterns of the people she was in her alliance in. Shigeko took notice that the man had yet to draw his blade.

She slowly made her way over to where Shin had been kicked, anticipating him to be heavily damaged, only to find that he had been healing himself the entire time. That makes sense, no real battle instinct, he's clearly in the medical field but clearly not a medical ninja. Strange, but he must have gotten some training somewhere. Either way Shigeko decided that being the person in between Shin and a possible Ja'kill attack would be her job.

Over the course of the battle Shigeko found a sort of unity in their team composition, someone to keep the enemy's attention and tank all the damage, a damage dealer from afar and one up close, and a healer to make sure the tank doesn't die. It was such a perfect combination of strengths and weaknesses. On top of the fact that it was four versus one, it couldn't possibly be hard to fight him. Wrong.

After a while of exchanging blows Ja'kill got fed up and drew his blade, a large black blade with a menacing aura. The swings he made produced enough pressure to knock both Shin and Shigeko on their backsides from far away from them. He began to cleave, damaging Red while Shin was attempting to regain his composure. Shigeko knew she couldn't let this lay and took out certain knives that had ninja wire connected, throwing these knives aiming for the man's arms, but he quickly swiped them away and returned to fighting Red.

While this was happening he was easily deflecting all of Noa's attacks, the only reason Red wasn't dying was due to Shin's constant long ranged healing. Deciding against using her projectiles she decided to turn to her wind ninjutsu, creating a large dragon made out of wind. Shigeko thought it would be somewhat difficult to hit the man but when he didn't move she was confused. Changing her attention to Shin he found him in a strange position, knelt down and doing a hand sign she hasn't seen before. She doesn't know if it was him or not, but that was beside the point. Their combination could win this.

Over time Shin was able to keep Red up through his healing, however Shigeko could tell he was beginning to run low on chakra. They weren't able to kill the man, however she were able to get him down on one knee before they heard a loud screech. Two actually, one sounded like a cat screeching, the other sounded like someone screaming bloody murder. They all turned their attention toward the large tree, it breaking and shattering before a large, four winged creature emerges.

Post 6: Garuda

"W-what..." Shigeko was awestruck, she couldn't muster a word, she felt like the air was being drawn from her body. This creature towered over them substantially, at least 15 feet tall. She, or it, carried this strange smile on her face, there were no benevolent feelings behind it.

"Garuda, child born from the gathering of demon and god of the sky, you have awoken!" Their attention turned to Ja'kill who, while his voice was still monotone, had a euphoric facial expression. None of them understood what he meant, who was Garuda, where did this beast come from, are they going to survive this encounter, will Shigeko still get paid? "Feast on these sacrifices I have brought you, and you shall lay torment on the world." He waved his arm toward his defeated lackeys, whose purpose was made clear to Shigeko. This also clearly meant that the four of them would be sacrifices as well.

Ja'kill didn't bash an eye when he was picked up, the beast started from his head and ate down his body, her second sacrifice, the first being the lackey that was sent in to unleash her. She began to inhale, though it wasn't a normal intake of breath, it was like a vacuum attempting to suck everyone. The lackeys were easily sucked in, being unconscious, however the four of them had tight grips on anything in their vicinity.

"I'm still hungry." Its shrill voice sounded whiny, almost as if it were a child that was still in its early stages of learning how to speak. It made everything even more disturbing, a creature of this strength with the mentality of a child was not good. "We have to kill it." Shigeko declared. Shin understood perfectly but Noa and Red were both unsure and unwilling. They wanted to run but Shigeko needed to let it be known that if they do anything but fight, death was inevitable.

They were able to get their strengths and weaknesses in order, to avoid friendly fire, and took their positions. There were plenty of large rocks and cave trees around, in case hiding was necessary. Shin and Shigeko took their position behind them while Red took charged at the creature with Noa not far behind.

Once red had the beast's attention Shigeko moved away from the rock she was standing from and into the open, prepping her ninjutsu while Shin waited until it was necessary. Red wasn't useful damage wise, which was fine, he was able to keep its attention while Noa attacked her from behind. The beast began to catch on, however, and began to release an AoE ability around her, which damaged Noa significantly, while fast and good with a sword she was still quite frail. Shin started with his ranged medical jutsu while Shigeko was able to use her own wind ninjutsu from afar.

When Shigeko used -Wind Scar- Garuda's attention turned to her for a moment, releasing her own wind scar in return. Shigeko wasn't expected that and was caught off guard, though the damage wasn't significant, a quick heal from Shin got rid of that damage. Whether this being was using jutsu in the traditional sense or, like Shigeko, was attuned to wind was not quite apparent to the team of four, but that was unimportant.

After pummeling the beast for a bit, and it seemingly only taking a quarter of the damage they had expected to deal she became exceedingly angered. "Enough!" She flew into the air and behind Shin and Shigeko. The area began to rumble with energy as she began to inhale. Taking the clue Shigeko, Shin, and Noa hid behind nearby rocks, however Red, being a knucklehead, charged ahead toward Garuda.

She released a loud screech and a sharp blast of wind blew across the room. Red took the blunt of this damage and was propelled far away, crashing into the wall. Strangely the rocks in the area was able to withstand all the damage. If any of them had taken the attack like Red did they would have been dead for sure, Red was definitely close to death but Shin utilized any and all abilities in his arsenal to get him back to, at least, half efficiency. This only meant they had to kill her faster.

They repeated the same cycle until she she became angry again, flying to the opposite side of the room and began to charge her attack. This time Red caught the cue and hid behind a rock with Shin, while she was charging Shin was able to heal Red a bit more before she released her attack. While the rocks were able to withstand the large attack they were clearly beginning to crumble away. Their time was running out.

Garuda was definitely becoming weaker, and she knew it herself. She began to use her abilities more sporadically, Shigeko wasn't sure how long Shin could keep both Red and Noa healed up. Shigeko realized she could no longer be quite as conservative with her chakra. Before she could act on this epiphany Garuda flew to the center of the room and began giggling creepily. She began to create a tornado within a close proximity of her, realizing what she is doing they hid behind rocks to avoid the massive damage that was incoming. The tornado blew outward, destroying all rocks and causing damage to each of them. While it didn't kill them there was no longer any protection from rocks or trees, they were out in the open and were clearly out of time.

Shigeko looked behind her and saw wind pick up and slowly began moving toward the center of the room, if they didn't kill the beast before the winds reached them then it was clear they would die. Shigeko, while limited, began using her strongest jutsu attempting to kill the beast before they died themselves. Noa went all out, though stabbing the ground and releasing some strange jutsu that began to speed Garuda up. At first Shigeko thought this was terrible until the beast seemed confused and unable to properly control her movements.

Shigeko took notice upon the impending doom and realized their time was up. Using what little chakra she has left from spamming her most powerful jutsu she delved into her knowledge and pulled a jutsu that she believes is unique to her. She has yet to see anyone else imitate it, not until she met this demon however. Collecting vast wind around Garuda she cautioned everyone to back away, while Garuda was confused by her increased speed Shigeko tore the last bit of her health apart.

A hellish screech was heard before... nothing. Silence. All that was left of Garuda were feathers... and the necklace. Seeing the state of everyone a fight was not in question, they wouldn't have enough chakra to fight each other at this point. however Shin was nearly passing out due to overusage of chakra, and both Red and Noa had taken too much close ranged damage. What to do?

Post 7: Epilogue
Shigeko stood up and grabbed the necklace while the others watched, helpless. Shigeko was over her normal ninja days, she no longer felt the need to be completely heartless in any situation. "I'm sorry for lying to you guys but... this is the item that was stolen from my contractor, I can't give it away or I won't get paid." She sighed and put the necklace on. Once it was around her neck she felt an incredible surge of energy flow through her body. It was strange, powerful and invigorating, but reckless and.. evil? It wasn't evil per say but it certainly wasn't a holy artifact. This was supposedly the key to unlocking that beast, but what if it wasn't? What if the cave was basically a giant key to a small object?

While she felt her chakra rising tremendously she also felt a presence surround her. There wasn't anyone but the four of them in the area but she could hear the faintest of whispers in the back of her mind. Red stood up and began slowly advancing on Shigeko, being tanky he wasn't unable to fight but he can't do much to her. As he got close wind began to form around Shigeko's body. She didn't summon the wind, not consciously at least, but it blew the three of them away.

Her skin around the necklace began to burn, the chain broke and disappeared, turning into ambient chakra. The jewel from the necklace itself began to burn into her skin, becoming part of her. She screamed, but it wasn't normal, it was a loud shriek second only to Garuda's, doing so released her own blast of wind knocking the three away. They smashed into the walls quite brutally, killing them upon impact with their weakened bodies.

After the pain had subsided she was able to calm down, she looked down, trying to see the jewel that had embedded itself between her collar bones. She touched the jewel and felt herself through it, almost like it had become a permanent part of her body. She made her way toward the others and checked their pulses. 'Dead... all three of them.' she confirmed in her mind. Being a shinobi she was used to death, but she was beginning to somewhat warm up to them, unfortunately this could have still been the end even if it weren't for the jewel, they were still liabilities.

She left the cave, tracing her steps back before finding the shore. She then realized that she had a large boat at her own disposal. Unfortunately she doesn't know how to use larger ships such as the one Ja'kill used, but there was no time like the present to learn. She will have to lay low for a bit, she won't be able to return the jewel to the original owners and they may start looking for her.

As she made her way toward her new ship she heard a faint giggling, but she wrote that off as paranoia.
