Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Asuka nodded at Rayne who sighed heavily. It seemed as though she was going to be the messenger this time. Rayne knew where Asuka was headed, and now she simply had to wait. It was the weekend, one of the few times Students could sleep in. Not this time though. With a sigh Rayne looked at the clock at the window, 30 minutes left. Meh, Asuka could wait a bit. Rayne got up from one of the chairs and headed for the kitchen pouring herself a drink. It was 8 p.m somewhere.

Taking that drink slowly she kept wondering what Asuka was doing "Keeping her promise?" "Being a good teacher? A good sister?" The Kotori situation had hit her hard but to take it so far, the brat was still just a child after all but she followed Asuka's lead. She does do stupid things most of the time, but, aside from popular believe, Asuka isn't an idiot. Having said that Rayne walked towards Akane's room, Asuka had asked her to be gentle...

Rayne being Rayne... wasn't. Rayne opened the door slightly and kicked it forward, causing it to slam against the wall. The noise alone should've woken anyone, especially a Shinobi. Rayne waited for Akane to wake up fully then spoke. "Brat, get cleaned up and dressed. Asuka wants to see you."

Lately Akane had been pushing herself more and more to improve -- quite an achievement how much she already pushed herself and was encouraged by Asuka. Despite her promises, she had been developing her Sharingan with and without supervision and had been spending almost any free moment she had trying to master the chakra training scroll. All of this on top of her classes which she was doing rather well in. Admittedly she was still fairly weak in terms of taijutsu but there was hardly room to add that into her schedule just yet. Her genjutsu, on the other hand, had been developing at such a rate that she constantly ate through training materials, slowly adding every technique and attack on the senses to her arsenal. She'd even gotten the hang of casting it from her Sharingan. A fact that she'd avoided bragging about thus far if only because of the implications and how unhappy Asuka would be with her if she figured out how she'd been practicing.

Despite her convictions though she was still a very, very tired child. That massive well of stamina had to burn out eventually so of course she broke her rigorous training to sleep in. She was snug as could be under her covers, her hair let down and falling like a bright red cascade as she nuzzled her cheek against her pillows and hugged her little ninja dog plushie tight. Nothing could ruin this.

Oh, wait. Rayne the master ruiner existed. Akane was jolted awake by the sudden crash of the door and with her well trained reflexes counter attacked what her mind thought was an ambush. Said 'counter attack' came in the form of her tossing her poor lil' plushie Yokoito-kun in Rayne's direction. It bounced off the doorframe a good foot to the right of its mark as Akane blinked the sleep out of her eyes and squinted as the familiar face standing in her doorway.

"Rayne, you jerk. It's the weekend. Go buy a schedule planner, you know this is my day off."

She flopped back onto her bed and rolled over, using a spare pillow to hug in place of Yokoito-kun as she tried to get comfortable again.

Rayne sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. This girl was just like Asuka, stubborn, childish, generally a nuisance to everyone around her. But Asuka did ask her this one favor, besides she was going to have fun once the thing started. But the question was how would she get her to wake up fully? Strocking her chin she smiled and went to the kitchen.

A few minutes later Rayne returned with a bucket, a bucket full of ice cold water and without thinking twice dumped it all on top of Akane. Rayne used to do this to Asuka, similar personaities deserved similar treatments. Having said that, she knew what was coming next. Whether Akane would attack or simply yell Rayne would be ready for it. Once the brat was done with her tantrum Rayne would look directly at her eyes. "There are no day offs for a Shinobi." Asuka had told her not to but it seemed as though it would be the only choice. "The Main Branch Sennin has requested me to escort you to Kitsune Park. Do you think I would've come all the way here if it wasn't because I was ordered too?"

Akane took the lack of persistence and the sound of footfalls that she'd won with her explanation. Of course Rayne should know better than to bug her on the day she had off. She quickly nestled back under her covers and fell into a happy, warm sleep. Until a cruel, ice cold cascade came down on top of her head, throwing her into a few moments of shock as she flailed and screamed at the top of her lungs in surprise. She fell out of bed in the chaos, getting onto her feet quickly and hugging herself as she shuddered from the cold while glaring daggers at Rayne.

"Y-Y-You... stupid... mean... jerk!"

She dropped the blanket still draped around her and rushed her sister's doppelganger, pounding her little fists on her chest in an ineffectual tantrum. Apparently her anger was more intense than the cold and there was no denying she was awake now. Of course even with training she couldn't think to hurt someone like Rayne even if she was so rude and seemingly uncaring. Akane was convinced that she cared, cared enough to work with Asuka and live with them both. She just had a unique... and stupid... way of showing it. Once the anger burnt out of her she stood there pouting, arms crossed over her chest as she listened to the weapon's formal wording. So this was serious, going so far as to refer to Asuka by her title. She let out a big sigh, still scowling as she shivered on the spot.

"You could have just said it all serious like like that and I would have believed you! You just wanted an excuse to dunk me!"

As she turned away and started to go through her closet she told Rayne, "I'll be ready as soon as possible. I just got to get dressed and shower after somebody dumped ice cold water on me."

Rayne stayed by the door once Akane started throwing her tantrum, letting the small brat uselessly punch at her chest. Waiting for it to be over she simply looked down upon her and still wondered how someone so stupidly immature could ever become an efficient Shinobi. Asuka had her moments but undereneath she was a hardened killer, Akana on the other hand didn't seem to have the guts to do the dirty work but considering Asuka's plans it may show a side of her that no one knew. Rayne simply nodded once Akane moved to get ready.

Once she was Rayne would escort her through the village, not really responding to annything she said but making sure she was following her. They made their way to the outskirts of the village, to Kitsune park. The arena where the student tournament had taken place, where Asuka gained her Genin status. Where so many accomplishments had taken place, but what most people forget is also the failures. Whether this was a success or a failure was up to Akane.

Asuka stood in the middle of the Arena, a very serious expression on her face. In silence Rayne walked forward and Asuka didn't speak a word. Once they were close enough Asuka started speaking. "Akane, yo've shown me your devotion to your training. You've shown me how much you wish to become a ninja. You've shown me promise." Asuka sighed and continued. "But all the training, all the potential means nothing if you're not willing to do what it takes as a Shinobi."

"The shinobi life is a hard one. Shinobi are heartless in battle, they don't hesitate to do what they must to gain victory. Today we're going to test that." With that Asuka streched her hand. "Rayne!" She yyelled. Rayne turned into a black light and shot up to the sky, landing in Asuka's palm and morphed into a scythe. "If you don't beat me, consider your shinobi carreer over. Refuse to fight me and the same result will happen." Asuka looked straight into Akane's eyes with a very serious expression. "I'm your sister but as Sennin I got no need for Shinobi that won't do whatever it takes to come out on top." Asuka breathed once "Come at me with the intention to kill, otherwise you got no chance."

Akane got dressed and showered briskly, feeling rather refreshed when it was all said and done. Sure, that hadn't been the most comfortable wake up call she'd ever gotten but at least she'd gotten enough sleep before it happened. Still it was a pretty unusual stunt. Whatever the reason, there was no way Asuka would be okay with Rayne treating her like this, right? She'd just have to tattle the moment that Rayne wasn't in ear shot. She came out, full of pep and energy as she beamed to the weapon woman. She was dressed as normal, the semi-casual short sleeved shirt and skirt combo that was just functional enough if she had to do anything physical.

"Alright, I'm ready! Let's go see onechan!"

The young lady was a particular jabber mouth as they walked to the edge of the village, not knowing their destination or what this was all about. Rayne stayed quiet the whole way through which gave Akane plenty of time to talk her head off about all the training she'd been doing lately and how well it was going. Training that Rayne was there for a decent amount but it was better than letting the silence linger in the air. Such a moody weapon.

"-- and I've gotten really, really good at using the chakra training scroll. I haven't mastered it yet but my chakra efficiency has gotten so good! At this rate I'm going to have it nailed down in no time! Not to mention I've been burning through all the genjutsu scrolls in the house. I mean, okay, there's a few I still don't quite understand but I've got at least half-ish the collection we have on it done. And I've been doing so much fire jutsu training too! I'm getting so well rounded. I'm probably good enough to graduate already but I want to pass with flying colors like onesan before I bother, ya know? Anyways--"

It wasn't until they were passing through the entryway to the arena did she really think of where they were heading. She looked around before shooting Rayne another stern look. "Hey, you know, most people who try to have a conversation try and talk back. And you could at least have told me why we walked all the way here..."

That's when she took notice of Asuka standing in the center of the arena. Akane's eyes lit up at the sight of her big sister though that light dimmed when she realized how uncharacteristically stern she looked. It was the only thing that stopped her from bounding forward and giving her a big 'good morning' hug as her pace slowed until she was in front of her. There was no time wasted on formalities as she was spoken to in a tone she'd almost never heard from her sibling before. So serious and stern. At first it was compliments despite her tone but after a short silence she dropped it all on her. Means nothing? What did she...?

As Asuka continued, the gears in Akane's head turned and she realized what this was about. She felt herself trembling despite her efforts as her eyes began to grow wide. No, she couldn't be serious. Sure, she was aware that something like this was inevitable but... she hadn't even graduated yet! This was something for a Genin to learn! Her heart skipped a beat as her sister called for her weapon and Rayne sprung into her hand without hesitation. She'd never faced down Asuka and Rayne together, even in practice. And now she was asking her to try and -beat- Asuka?! This had to be a joke, a prank gone too far. Akane had gotten better and better the last few months but Asuka was easily one of the most powerful shinobi in the village, a Kage in her own right. There was no way a mere student could overcome such an opponent.

It wasn't until she grabbed her arm to try and stop the shaking did she realize she was quivering like a leaf at all. Her gaze had dropped to the floor as she tried to clear her thoughts. This was impossible. She was better off surrendering before she got hurt, right? The only real options were lose or quit, why not take the safe road? That's what she tried to tell herself. But a thought -- a memory -- lingered in her head. That day in the alley. Two strangers, their faces blurred, beating her down into the ground. It was something she'd avoided thinking of since she started her new life with Asuka. The only thing that mattered about that day was that it gave her the greatest onechan in the world, right?

But she couldn't believe that herself. It was the day that made her want to be a shinobi. Not even that -- the right to be strong. She bit her bottom lip and dug her nails into her palms hard, trying to focus on the shots of pain to snap her out of her anxiety and fear. Asuka had lifted her up thus far but if it was really her intent to become the force that would block her path now...

"Uchiha-sama..." The words felt alien on her tongue as of course she'd never spoken to her so formally before but she spoke with confidence despite this. She dared to look up as she got her shuddering under control, her gaze hard and determined despite the hot tears welling up inside of them. "I can't afford to lose to you here. I'll hold nothing back, even against you."

Asuka had never enjoyed this part of the job but it unfortunately was neccesary. Shinobis weren't meant to hold back when the mission or situation called for it. Asuka didn't show any emotion towards her little sister once she started quivering in fear. Her hand clenched on the weapon, the emosion concerning was simply concern. She was concerned Akane would let her fear win and it would mean the end. She was afraid Akane would let everything go faced with impossible odds.

Thankfully, the opposite happened. Akane looked at Asuka with those serious eyes once she was determined. Even when her role model was beating her down, even on the verge of tears she had the resolve. With a slight smile Asuka activated her sharingan. Her blue eyes being replaced by the crimson red color. "Good. Let's see just how good you've gotten." She took a stance ready to defend or attack anything that came her away. "Prepare yourself."

tumblr_mzpr33U9t21tptsy9o1_500.gif

I will be your moderator for this fight! Send, in a PM, your actions and all your battle information: Stats, class, abilities, jutsu, items, weapons, etc.

When sending this information, I would prefer to have hyperlinked stuff or regular links. This greatly decreases the time it takes for a moderator to mod as it cuts down on searching.

If you feel that I may miss something, please feel free to add in a list of passives or effects that you wish to be given special attention, or just a list of all of your passives works as well, whichever.

Lets have a nice fun fight on this one, remember both of you will be under a 48 Hour time limit since the B-Mod goes up. Right now lets get ready to rumble!

Asuka knew that this would be quite the interesting battle. She would like to see what Akane had in store. See if her efforts were worth it, not really knowing what was in her arsenal Asuka took a couple of steps back and got her weapon ready for action. With that she was going to open up with a few moves of her own, hoping it would be enough to stop any kind of action thrown against her.

Despite steeling her resolve, Akane felt a shudder shoot down her spine as those welcoming blue eyes of her mentor turned to the red and black of their birthright. Asuka was so better developed than her in every way. An Uchiha of her caliber could literally kill with a look. She was quite literally a child compared to her. She could barely see through the bitter tears in her eyes. How could she even match up, much less win?

'I want to make it through this. I have to. I can't go back to who I use to be. Who I would have been without her. I don't know if I can truly win but... but...'

Her eyes stung as she closed them despite the threat in front of her, quickly wiping away the warm tears that'd finally started to flow. Look at her. Scared of the last person she expected to scare her in the whole world. It would be funny if it wasn't so damn sad. A thousand horrible thoughts passed through her head in the moment of darkness. Every worst case scenario, every mistake she could make. Could her determination alone really overcome these odds?

For a moment she repeated what Asuka had just told her. Let's see just how good you've gotten. For a moment she didn't understand why those simple words came to mind. Then she realized that they were the strongest words of motivation she could have offered. All of this - the last few years, their training together, all of Asuka's hope for her - that was what she was fighting for. She might have been willing to do her best against any other opponent but when it was Asuka, there was no choice. Not for fear of death but to prove to them both that it'd been worth it.

When Akane finally wiped the tears away and opened her eyes again, they were changed. On second nature she'd drawn out her Sharingan, the bloody red orbs sporting an extra tomoe each that had never been there before. It was beyond a physical change. She'd put on a brave face a moment before but now she was determined beyond all shadow of a doubt. She wasn't going to consider failure an option, not until it became true. She was going to beat Asuka and ascend her if that's what it took.
