Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

History:
Eighteen years ago, a boy would be born. Jenosaido Kagai would be his name and he was among the first generation to be born within their new subterranean home. He was born to a pair of Medical Shinobi named Jenosaido Keiko and Jenosaido Musashi, and was their pride and joy. Ideas of him growing up and taking up the mantle of Medical Shinobi for the next generation filling his parents heads with each passing year. He was a strapping young lad, born with crimson red hair and eyes that seemed to resemble smoldering ashes after a large bon fire, a nice mixture of golden yellow with trace amounts of burned orange taking up the perimeter of his pupil.

The boy would grow, being force fed the ideals of the Jenosaido since before he could even walk, being told his own destiny even before he knew what the word meant..."You are going to be a great medic some day!" They would say..."Have you thought about what branch he's going to go in?" They would ask the parents, more or less planning out his entire life before his very eyes. When he reached the age of 5, he and his parents would be blessed with another child, a girl, and they named her Midori. Her features were the same as her brothers, crimson colored hair and eyes that seemed to smolder.

When it came time for Kagai to finally join the academy, he did so with much weight upon his young shoulders. Thoughts of making his parents proud, making his clan proud, becoming a great medical shinobi, all of this was running through the young man's head as he spent most of his time studying and practicing his techniques. He was allowed no rest, not even at home because his parents kept riddling him with teachings of their own.

Years of this would go by until graduation day finally came. Kagai was 13 years old, and given his forehead protector, allowing him to claim the title of Genin. He was finally a full-fledged Shinobi, albeit very low upon the totem pole of rank, but a Shinobi none the less. An overwhelming sense of pride overcame him as he tied it to his forehead, posing for pictures with his friends within the academy for them to put in the yearbook and what not.

His parents were overjoyed that their first-born had finally graduated and could finally go off and fulfill the destiny that they had laid out for him, and were in the process of doing the same to young Midori, whom was 8 at the time and was getting ready to join the academy herself soon. He looked at her young, smiling face. Did she understand what their parents had done to him and were preparing to do to her? Ever since joining the academy and being able to get away from his parents for a few hours a day, his thoughts had fallen into ideas like that. They may have been his parents, but who were they to tell him how his life was going to go? How could they know he was going to be a medic just because everyone in their family seemed to enjoy the profession?..."Fuck that.." He thought to himself. These ideas seemed to grow and grow within his young, pubescent mind as a few more months went by after graduation, a sort of calm before the storm as he would soon be told to join one of the shinobi branches. When it came time, his parents and sister went down with him to cement this moment forever in their memory when Kagai started down his road to Medical Shinobi.

Cameras were in hand as he walked out, and they flashed like crazy as he strolled out with the oddest smile upon his face..."So, which branch did you choose, son?!" His father would exclaim..."Research and Development, right?! Going to work in your old man's field!" He said, pride just pouring out from his voice..."Oh please. He is a combat medic, just like me!" His mother would say playfully toward her husband..."Just look at him! He was built to be out in the field!" She would add. Kagai merely shook his head to both of them, and looked up with blank eyes as he muttered the acronym..."ANBU."

There was surprise in their eyes at first before they began laughing, thinking he was joking. The look upon Kagai's face, which had become serious now, changed their demeanor entirely. It seemed to anger them, and they began yelling at Kagai, then yelling at themselves and each other, wondering where they had gone wrong in raising a kid that had been predestined to become a Medical Shinobi. Kagai was quiet from then on, didn't talk to either of his parents, even though they showed no wanting to speak to him either. Only person who he still felt cared about him now was Midori, whom didn't seem to care either way. Growing up he had kind of resented her, seeing as she stole some of his thunder from being the parents favorite, but as he got older and reached his new state of mind and awareness, he had grown to appreciate her and love her, willing to do whatever was needed to protect her.

It wasn't long before Kagai moved out of his parents home. With having a job now as both ANBU and Shinobi, he was making enough money to find his own place and finally go about his own route in life without his parents interfering with it, and years would go by without him speaking to either of them, except for Midori. His demeanor slowly began to change while living in solitude, left to his own devices and thoughts as they festered in his brain late at night while trying to get a few hours sleep before returning to duty. He was 18 now, going by the name "Torch" as his ANBU alias. He had kept his red hair cut short, and had also picked up the habit of smoking, figuring it would further piss off his parents when he came by to visit Midori. He had the ANBU insignia tattooed upon his left arm, and had grown to be a fit, and toned young man with a rather prodigious affinity towards Fire.

His life seemed to just be drifting past him. Days, weeks, even months just seemed to run together for the man as he did his daily duties, visited Midori when he could, and basically just sat at home. He was without purpose or meaning for this life, having disposed of the one his parents had planned for him. It was during this time, while trekking through the desert above ground, he managed to lose his way within the storms. Hours would go by, the day turning to night and the sweltering heat turning into blistering cold. It felt as if he was walking within a blizzard instead of an eternal sand storm and he felt that he would surely die having not brought any provisions with him seeing as he hadn't planned on being up above all that long. It was then he saw it...

It was beyond description. He wasn't a poet, nor was he a scholar of any kind. What appeared before him seemed to, in his mind, be an enormous pillar of golden fire rising up into the sky. The sands seemed to part in wake of this object, and Kagai could not help but follow it, mesmerized by its beauty. It also seemed to be giving off heat, which warmed Kagai's bones and made traveling through this blizzard of sand much easier. Before he knew it, he would arrive back at the entrance to Sunagakure, the golden pillar of flames disappearing into the night within the blink of an eye.

Upon returning home, Kagai began to think about what he had seen. Was it an illusion conjured by his mind, seeing as he was under such stress? No, it couldn't be. He could feel the immense heat pouring off of this object, and he was 100% sure that nobody would off been in the desert at that time to cast a Genjutsu upon him to produce those kind of effects. He had remember hearing people speak of seeing the "face of God", and it being indescribable basically because mortals lack the ability to comprehend just what they are looking at. It wasn't a face that he seen, just a pillar of burning, golden flame...Or perhaps that is what his mind made it to be? He couldn't be sure, but he felt as if he had been touched by God itself. This light had led him back home, back to safety.

As he lay down to sleep, he was struck with a most vivid dream. The golden flame appeared to him again, as bright and majestic as it had been in the darkness of the desert. At first, all Kagai could do was stare as this swirling torrent of golden flames spun in front of him, releasing a nearly deafening roar much like a tornado. This roar slowly but surely seemed to become more audible, almost as if it was speaking to him..."Rise, Kagai.." The voice would say. It was low, and the bass it produced made Kagai's chest vibrate and caused him to fall down onto the ground. The heat being created from this was causing Kagai to sweat profusely, but he could barely feel due to being completely taken in by it..."You have been chosen..You shall be my herald within this impure world." The golden torrent would begin to shrink down to a much smaller size. It was now slightly taller than Kagai was, and it's figure appeared to be Human, having 2 arms, legs and what appeared to be a head, but all was still composed of golden flame. A pair of red eyes would erupt within this apparitions head, and look down onto Kagai as if it was piercing into his very soul..."This world has become filthy. Filled with non-believers that have forgotten their place within the grand design of We. They have forgotten us, or believe themselves to be on par with us. You are to remind them! They are to praise and worship US!" The rage of this being was pure, and his voice boomed all around Kagai. The heat being produced had almost doubled in intensity, causing the hairs upon Kagai's arms and legs to singe off. .."Yes...You will be my prophet..and we will burn this world to ashes....And from those ashes, those whom survive shall remember who they serve. Their tears shall not consume the flames of retribution, but only empower it. I, Lord Kojin, demand it to be so!"

This ethereal being then extended its fiery arm towards Kagai, releasing a stream of golden flame towards him. Before he could attempt to stand and run away, the flames engulfed him, hitting him dead in the chest. The pain was excruciating. He could feel his skin melting away, although it truly wasn't. His body seemed to be absorbing the flames, drawing it inside him. His blood seemed to boil within his veins and his heart felt as if it was roasting alive...."Make them remember...." Were the only words he could hearing echoing within his mind as the sudden pain caused him to awaken from his sleep. He was drenched in sweat, and breathing heavily, gripping his chest with his right hand as he could still feel the intense burning sensation, although there were no visible scars.

After his experience, and the subsequent lucid dream he had, Kagai has then become a preacher to the word of Kojin. While he still considered himself a Shinobi of Sunagakure, he knew his true mission was to spread the word of the Golden Flame, and bring about his own Holocaust in the name of Lord Kojin in time to purify this filthy word in His honor.
