Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It was a Monday, the worst day ever created since like…. Ever. Maru really didn't feel up for the whole teaching thing today so he decided to simply set up a tutoring session with some girl Maikeru sent to him since… well he wasn't going to give up any of his weakness to someone he's planning on fighting soon. So again Maru acted as a substitute teacher for whoever this mystery girl was. Maru would rather be doing other jobs, like doing his daily research or something. Luckily for him he came prepared with the newest addition to the Foxy Nine-Tails magazine he's really been into lately with the hope that the mystery girl doesn't come expecting him to actually teach her something. Maru honestly wasn't hard to find, he always hangs around the Ancient Forest or the Hot Springs which in this case he was in a clearing deep within the Ancient Forest. Maru was laying on a pile of dead leaves on his stomach, nine white large bushy tails wagged as the masked rogue looked at his magazine. A thin line of drool slid down the side of the masked rogues mouth with his ears perked up in excitement.

After discovering that his natural spirit animal was the fox, Maru decided to embrace the wild side after training with a Nine Tailed spirit animal since on his mother's side he had a famous fox youkai as his Great Great Great Great Great Great Great Great grandmother who was rumored to be one of the most evilest demons who still to this very day causes trouble for humanity. Unfortunately the Spirit Animal that trained him in the way of the fox got a bit… too close to him so he had to throw the little guy off the mountain. However after unlocking how to actually use the power of the fox he kinda never really knew how to turn off the fox ears and tails since it required him to take some natural energy and now that the little guy died he was stuck as a fox until he can change his zodiac blessing. Not really that bad, besides demon fox is pretty fun! Goodbye ugly looking horns!

Maru forgetting all about the student who should be coming to meet him in a moment, he used his thumb to rub the page where the pretty gamer girl fox female's tail was. “Hehehe gamer fox should stop by the spine and give me some extra hearts.” the rogue giggled to himself as he turned the page of his magazine, the next page needless to say nearly made the rogues eyes pop out of his head and he literally had to sit up in a crouching position as his chuckling began to get more goofy sounding. Appearily the gamer fox didn't keep her special pictures hidden since the whole magazine was all about her, now completely forgetting about the whole tutoring gig he gave his full attention to the Gamer Nine Tailed woman within his glorious magazine. Monday's were usually bad but… he thinks getting to stare at his fox girl for hours on end wasn't really bad for a Monday. This was totally worth the money he spent for it!

Go figure. You finally rise up in the ranks, make it all the way to Godslayer, and what do they want you to do? Get a tutor. This was age-ism! Being one of the youngest Godslayers while also being one of the newest Kaibutsu Hunter recruits had certainly turned some heads, which was only underscored by Maikeru's simultaneous rank up. Though he was older, he was a medic by trade. Murmurs often quieted as she passed by in the mission office, and only the boldest and least socially aware broached the subject with her. But, to appease the upper echelons, Reicheru had agreed to the tutor with fellow Godslayer Yamamoto Yamaru.

It wasn't long before the kunoichi found the clearing the older shinobi was waiting in. After the library, the Ancient Forest was the place she'd become most familiar with in Kumo's walls. Looking at the man, who was thoroughly engrossed in his magazine, a familiar sensation engulfed her. Still, the longer she looked at him the further convinced she became it was just from potentially passing by him in the Kaibutsu Hunter offices. No, they'd certainly never been on a mission together, nor did she know him outside of their work. Shrugging off the sensation, chalking it up to her Mark reacting to his fox ears, Rei approached Yamaru.

Placing a finger at the top of the magazine and pulling down slightly to meet the man's eyes, she was surprised to find instead a mask covering his face. Not quite an ANBU mask, but similar. Tilting her head slightly and smiling at the oddity, she introduced herself. "You must be Yamamoto-san. I'm Nanjirou Rei - pleasure to meet you. Now, I can see that you're about as excited for this as I am. How about we get on with it so we can say we did what we were supposed to, and we can both get back to… more important things?"

The giggling and drooling proceeded until he saw a finger that seemingly came out of nowhere plant itself on top of his magazine. ’Nani?’ the rogue thought, looking up from his magazine he saw that it was… he couldn't exactly put his finger on where he saw her before but he did know she was one of those people who got messed up in the B.A.D incident where that big ass dinosaur came out of nowhere trying to blow them all up. That's who she was! She was the beautiful brown haired bitch who got stabbed by Maikeru, still it was kinda weird how close she was and how she was trying to look into his eyes but because of the lins on his mask she wasn't really able to see his eyes much less most of his face. When she greeted him, the rogues disappointed look for the girl actually coming to him for tutoring turned into a happy go lucky smile and he greeted back. "Well hello there, you must have been the beautiful brown haired bitch I saw in that big ass dinosaur innocent. Pleasure to meet you too.” Maru shot up after his introduced, standing up he dusted off his tails because they hand leaves and sticks stuck inside of the fur. "I see you were trying to gaze into my eyes so we can have a intimate moment, sorry darling but I keep a mask on 24/7. Maybe next time."

Tucking his magazine underneath his armpit, he scratched the back of his head wondering what should he teach the girl so he could get her out of here already. The rogue looked around for a moment then his eyes passed over some black mushrooms then a light bulb went up in his head. He found something that would at least shoo the girl away on a wild goose chase so he could go back to looking at his fox girl…. Then Maru's eyes widen as a idea came up into his head, a mischievous smile beginning to spread across his face and his animal ears curled up like horns when his wicked smile was completed. "Glad you came, because I am going to teach you how to weaken your opponent without using genjustu.” the rogue said, clapping his hands the man's face turned back to normal then happily cheered. “Alright let's talk genjustu! Genjustu although lacking in damage is meant to weaken your opponent, a lot of people don't like genjustu because it's not exactly raw power. These kind of people who focus more on how much damage you can do in battle are known as chimps or monkeys.” the rogue explained.

“Basically people who when you take away their ‘Bananas’ they flip out and give up fighting. Genjustu allows you to do that, make them forget a ninjustu, confuse them, trick them into attacking another guy, basically if you already know how they fight you can weaken their strengths.” After explaining his view on genjustu now it was time to fill her in on there being another way besides genjustu to weaken someone. "But there are times when you don't use genjustu, perhaps your opponent gots some immunity, maybe they are playing defense, or maybe you just don't like genjustu well have no fear because poisons exist! I always pack some Serpent's Blood to help paralyze my enemy or Lullaby Powder so let's come up with ways to weaken your opponent.” After the overview of what they would be learning about is out of the way, Maru thought for a moment he wondered if the girl had any poison on her if not well he could just send her off to find some. The forest had snakes and funguses so she could go find some and then he'll be able to go back to his magazine for a little while. "So like what poisons you have on you brown hair?

"Beautiful brown haired bi…" Rei murmured under her breath as she scratched the back of her head. She wasn't sure whether she should be insulted or flattered. Her confusion only intensified as Yamaru stood and insinuated she'd been trying to initiate an intimate moment with the stranger. Raising her eyebrows, a small smile crept on her lips. She wasn't quite sure yet if she was going to be irritated or amused by this fellow, but at least it wouldn't be the boring Monday afternoon she'd anticipated.

Reicheru nodded as Yamaru quickly jumped into what he'd be instructing her on, a glimmer of interest actually shining in her eyes when he mentioned some sort of alternative to Genjutsu. Those illusionary arts had always been this kunoichi's greatest weakness, and though the monster mark on her chest had given her some insight and amplified her mind-game abilities, the truth was that she was still far behind those who had trained in it since birth, like an Uchiha for example. Finally, after the spiel on what is was they weren't going to be studying today, Yamaru pointed to poison as the alternative. The thought had never really crossed her mind before, but as the odd man explained the similarities between the two it all made good sense to her. Perhaps there was more to this eccentric kitsune fellow than meets the eye. She supposed they don't hand out titles like 'Godslayer' for nothing, after all.

When Yamaru asked what poisons she had on her at the moment, Rei paused and pursed her lips. She hadn't made a habit of carrying around toxins on her person, but she held up a finger with a smile as she remembered her most recent encounter with Saitou Oguri. The Hyuuga Kaibutsu Hunter had a secondary specialty in traps and poisons, and had given her one sample that he said he thought would 'compliment her fighting style'. "Uhh, I have this one. What had he called it? Plexi… Plexitsm? No… Plexistim?" Retrieving the vial from her pouch, she twirled it between her fingers before looking back to Yamaru. "It's an odd name, but he made it sound very simple, just a basic lingering damaging potion - is that right?" Though a voracious reader, Rei had recently developed a bad habit of reading deeply into things that interested her rather than more broadly about things she ought to know more about. Looks like she might learn something here today after all.

While Brown Hair went to search for some kind of poison, the rogue took a moment finding it quite odd that she simply smiled at him for calling her a beautiful brown haired bitch. Now usually when calling a girl the bitch word they go ballistic, rewarding him with either throwing ninja stars at him or chewing his head off with insults. But by the way she smiled when she called he the brown haired bitch this lead Maru to believe that she was definitely a masochist, that explains the whole stabbing thing in the B.A.D incident. Maybe being stabbed was like her version of a deep kiss or something. She would be great for Maikeru since he's a super Sadist/Masochist, probably he'll have him throw that girlfriend he has for this beautiful masochist since he likes giving women the belt. Nonetheless, she found what she was looking for which slightly made him a bit sad since he couldn't send her on a wild goose chase to go look for ingredients while he looked at his magazine but like a preppy shinobi she came prepared.

"Oh.. you brought Plexistim with you. Perfect!” He clapped his hands, appearily she had some basic knowledge of what it was so he'd figure that he'll explain how it works then maybe provide a demonstration of how does it actually work. "That's correct it is a damaging lingering poison. It comes from some plant I don't know about chemicals when introduced to somethings body then every time someone tries to use their chakra their body reacts violently causing damage to them.” the rogue quickly leaned in to take the vial of poison from her hands, flicking off the lid with his claw like thumbnail. "Since we don't know for sure how it actually does the damage guess we can test it out the way my old medical teacher showed me how. Make sure ya take notes.” Maru tilted his head back then opened his mouth open wide, revealing a row of canine looking teeth as the rogue stuck his tongue out then began to pour the vial of poison in his mouth and down his throat! His tails wagging while he emptied the vial then threw the now empty glass off somewhere then he held his hands dangling in front of him as he waited for somethings to happen.“Bitter..” he commented… then froze… and then drool leaked from the side of his mouth…. Then.

Thwack!!

Maru was down, collapsed face first into the ground with his tails going limp and his ears flattening against his head the rogue didn't seem to move for a while now. His back didn't seem rising and falling to show that he was still breathing which might've raise some concern for a lot of people in this kind of situation… well a lot of concern but after a moment he looked up at the brown hair and simply ask. “Did I get you?” He wanted to know if his prank was successful, Maru was by no means immune to the poison at all if he casted a justu now he would end up feeling like he was burning due to how his chakra would react to the poison. But it was would be worth it for the laughs, plus he haven't drank that poison yet since his all-time favorite was Dreams Wrath and Twilight Venom since they taste a bit better. It was unfortunate that Plexistim was not good to drink straight up. Getting off of his stomach, he looked around noticing he dropped his magazine when he did his whole acting like he was instantly dead, and he reached his hand over to get his magazine.

Interesting; so the poison interacted with the target's chakra system to trigger the damaging effects. Rei nodded and took note; she'd come across more than enough opponents who used up their chakra like it was nothing in hopes of a quick and easy win. If she could turn those big attacks against her into an advantage… seems Oguri was right, she thought she would rather like this poison.

Rei tuned back in as Yamaru instructed her to pay attention to how to test how the poison actually worked. Yea, that would be good to kn-- oh Raiden, what was he doing?! The kunoichi's eyes widened as the eccentric fellow downed the poison as if it were a shot of whiskey. Sure, it wasn't deadly, but still-- oh heavens, and now he was on the ground. Rei paused, frozen where she stood, staring at Yamaru's body sprawled out on the ground. "Uhh… you okay there?" The words came slowly, and receiving no response she finally moved to grab a stick off the forest floor. Slowly, she reached the thing out to poke the strange fox man…

“Did I get you?”

Puffing her cheeks out with a sigh of relief, she raised an annoyed eyebrow at her instructor. "Very funny, thanks for that." Yet, bothered as she was, she couldn't help but chuckle slightly. Truly, this man was amusing if nothing else. "Alright, so there's poisons to force people not to rely on their chakra, to put them to sleep, to paralyze. What else can you do? And how do you actually… you know, use them? It's not like I can quite offer up a cup of tea laced with Plexistim in the middle of a fight."

Well now that he had a belly full of poison, brown hair seemingly had more questions for him and it was more about how to actually use poison. Most people aren't as smart as he was to drink the poison from the vial to allow themselves the joy of being harmed from within while using a antidote only when absolutely necessary because a 'safe word’ like that was for wimps! His magazine in hand, the rogue got back to his feet to continue his lessons on using toxins in combat, which he knew of two ways that you could but judging by her being one of those magic sword wielding people perhaps fighting at a range probably wasn't her strong suit. So how do you use a poison when dealing with a more unwilling target, well that answer was pretty simple so the rogue took a moment to think of the best way to answer. "Well that's pretty simple, I assume you use taijustu right? With the name and Nanjirou and all?” Maru rubbed his chin. “Have to ask cause we have a lot of people with a famous clan name and not actually have the bloodline.”

If she was good at slashing, she must be a close range fighter and if she wasn't… well… he's gonna need to actually have another tutoring session or a 100 because if she was going to go after monsters she needed the right style of combat. “One kind of poison that can be used by anyone would be the injury ones, basically you coat your weapon in the stuff by pouring it on there, dipping the tip of your blade in poison, or have it sit inside of a sheath filled with poison if you are a strategist kind of person.” Maru explain, perhaps she needed to see how it's done so he reached for his mask to tuck his thumb underneath the nose then pulled the mask out a bit then used his other hand to pitch something that was underneath his mask then he pulled out his new weapon of choice! A pink and purple whip with a floral design gemstone on the gold and purple handle of the weapon with a sharp looking golden star tip for cutting through flesh with each lash. Maru tucking his whip in his kimono's belt then went underneath his mask to pull out a vial of Serpents Blood then pulled his weapon from his kimono's belt. He popped open the cap, then began to pour the purplish red liquid onto the length of his weapon and upon closer inspection the leather although looked smooth had very small spikes."Remember you gotta at least use a multiple hit technique for the best result, you got literally 10 before this stuff drips off from you constantly swinging it. Once properly coated with a injury poison of your choice… you proceed with beating the hell out of your opponent until they are poisoned.” Maru stated, then showed her his weapon now coated with serpents blood.

“Oh and another thing about inhaled poisons you can't coat your weapon with it unfortunately. You gotta throw it in their face or shoot it in their eyes which seems easy but I don't think it'll be that accurate since fighting from a distance isn't really a talent of the Nanjirou. So I'd recommend always packing injury poisons unless you are good at fighting at a range. Anything else ya wanna know?” the rogue asked, it's obvious which ones were injury poisons and which weren't. If they are liquid and look like it'll stick on a weapon, that's injury. If they are powdery and you have to pinch it to toss at people, it's a inhaled.
