Maru walked along the streets, a bit angry due to him not having enough money to pay for more senbons needles that he wanted. Things pretty much haven't been going right for him at all, he was demoted twice, most of his doll collection had been destroyed, and there hadn't been really much of anything he could do around the village. Oh, and there was the whole bet things he lost to Asuka because someone decided to promote her for beating up a couple of students who were clearly weaker than she was. The whole thing was pretty ridiculous! RIDICULOUS!!!
Suddenly without warning, some guy who was clearly in a hurry caught the puppet master off guard and bumped into him so hard he knocked Maru down, landing on his behind hard. In a rage, he raised his hand up and yelled! "Aye! You knocked me over damnit!” But the man, didn't stop going he kept on heading to wherever he going which was the last straw. Maru pulled out a watch that looked like a strange metallic telescope then turned the watch backwards, everything simply stopped… the man who was running seemingly paused, the people around frozen in time then everything reversed about 30 seconds, Maru was suddenly on his feet the man was running about a few feet away. And Maru readied his fist.

Suddenly without warning, some guy who was clearly in a hurry ran right into the hard wooden fist of Maru. The crowd around him looked scared at the random act of violence, then quickly moved across the street to avoid the wrath of Maru. The man holding his nose, he began to bleed and glared at Maru. “You bastard! I'll sue!” He roared, about to call the Anbu on Maru, but the puppet master didn't care. He hit the man with a 16-hit combo, followed by a fist of sin into an ally and he was out like a light. Maru ran up to the unconscious man, patting him down to check what he could find and he found pretty much some good stuff. His wallet was one thing, his watch, the wedding ring, and a scroll in which he didn't know what was inside but it was his now. So Maru decided that the man probably wouldn't remember him, but he didn't care. He placed the stolen goods in his pockets, wondering how would he make a grand escape when suddenly he heard a voice seemingly come out of nowhere.
“See you have been pretty busy. Aren't we?” It rasped, Maru looking around to see what was going on when suddenly the area gotten pitch black. The way he came from just simply faded away into the darkness. Maru wasn't the least bit interested in playing around with whatever had him trapped, so he prepared a justu to fire.
“You have 10 seconds to come out or I'm gonna rain down despair on your head.” Maru threaten, however in return he heard a laugh. Whatever laughed seemed amused by his remark. Finally.. It crawled down. Whatever it was had six inky spider legs sticking out from her back, all moved down slowly to show a pitch black figure with glowing red eyes and a big white toothy grin spreaded about it's face. "You want the darkness correct? You want to be evil right?” Maru backed up from the deranged shadow woman, then it laughed and clawed closer. "There is a underground gang of bandits, located in the city of thieves. If you want the life of a bad person, you should start there… gain the trust of the head, then when he dies take over the gang and make it into something a bit more demonic… Make them become pawns for the demon.” The woman, crawled closer Maru backed away a bit. "Do not sway from your path. You are born evil, you are created to embody evil… never forget the darkness." with that the woman vanished, but she wasn't gone. This thing had been watching Maru since he was first starting the academy, now it decided to appear to remind him that he was meant to be bad. Maru was to join in on the darkness of the city of thieves instead of fighting against it. Probably, on this new path he would be able to find the darkness he needed to achieve his true potential of being an agent of chaos. He had to admit, he was distracted from this path because of the people he met but now that all has changed. All the bridges had been burnt along with his collection and he needed to look out for one person now. And that was himself….
