Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The edge of the Wind Country was a place that wasn’t often visited unless you lived in Sora. Despite the horrid climate of the desert beyond, the very edge of the country was surrounded by a vast sea. The air that blew off of it was always cold, making etching out a life near the beach worth every second. Though, that wasn’t the reason the two souls were out here.
A tall woman with a head of thick bushy air was practicing martial arts on the beach sands. Her entire body was made of thick muscle and with each kick or punch the air would shake. It was less due to her natural strength though, but the demonic energy her body was made from.
Her name was Owari, and she was the demonic soul of a man named Michino Toraono. In the years gone by she had come a long away from being the voice and presence that tormented the boy into insanity. Their odd relationship was not at a point that the young mortal warrior would allowed his demon half to take over his body so that she could get in training in their realm. He generally only did this because he knew how much his peaceful soul relied on the demon during military missions. Apparently, the air and gravity were lighter than it was in the Youkai realm, leaving her needing to know her limits before Michino could allow her to possess his body inside of the village. The kami knew that the last thing the Toraono clan needed was more heat regarding a demon-woman accidentally tearing apart the village while trying to do something as basic as walking. The holes in the dunes and beach around her went as far as to show exactly how long she had been out here learning to use the body she was being granted.

Of course, anyone walking along, wouldn’t even be able to tell she was demonic outside her menacing aura. While possessing the body of a human she had to take on certain characteristics rather she liked it or not, but absolutely refused to change her gender. It was bad enough, she had argued with Michino, that she couldn’t bring out her actual body without draining his deep reserves of chakra. Forcing her soul to align with his natural gender was more than she was willing to do, and so they came to an agreement. He needed her power, she wanted his freedom.
While they switched places, his body went through a quick change, using a mix of techniques he already knew from military spy training and demonic energy. The result was his body lost about ten inches in height and his chest became heavier, though Michino himself, tucked away in his own subconscious, never felt the effects of the change. Owari took all that awkward pain on her own, though she almost seemed to enjoy the transformation.

Three more punches rocked the air as the demoness continued to follow the mental lessons the original body owner gave. It had only taken the entire morning, from sun-rise to late afternoon, but she had already mastered the principals of Tora-no-Ken, one of the Toraono’s core martial arts. Her left leg raised up a fast knee, causing a rush of air to fly up almost high enough to part a cloud. Sweat was dripping from the mortal form and she stared down at her muscular arm in amazement.
Demons did not get tired. Oh sure, they could be hurt and even killed, but for stamina they lacked nothing. The feeling of the mortal shell having worked from day to near night in training was unfamiliar; and exciting.
Can I try now?” she spoke to the empty beach. The voice in her head, the original owner of the body, didn’t speak so much as it gave a mental nod. A wickedly excited grin, followed by a squeal of joy, and the demon scrambled up the dunes on the beach until she was at the top of the near tallest and facing a house in the distance. She turned about thirty degrees towards the ocean, and slowly began to crouch as a samurai would when preparing a fast draw technique. Her left hand reached down and grabbed at the empty space, causing the air to begin to swirl around her. The sands whipped up into a small cyclone as the red sheath materialized from the Death Realm followed by the guard and then finally the pommel. A simplistic katana sheathed in red formed next to her left hip as if it had always hung there. The right hand carefully gripped the handle causing the cyclone to explode outwards. All the wind on the beach seemed to simply stop. Her left thumb ran over the sheath until it touched the guard.
Owari breathed in deep, and then released it so that no air was in her lungs. In a sudden motion, nearly impossible to see beyond dojutsu, she drew the red colored blade and struck it out towards the ocean. After a single second of delay the wind that had previously stopped suddenly came crashing down against the water in a vacuum. The sudden force caused the sea to split right down to the ocean floor and drew up a twenty foot tall wave. With weapon still drawn she leaped from the dune, landed in the soft sand and began to rush down to the house the wave was moving towards rather quickly. She slid to a stop just right before the home and jumped towards the sea, causing a burst of force to create a small crater where she leaped towards the small tsunami. Taking the weapon in both hands she raised it above her afro and then with all her demonic might, sliced down. The wave split into two halves, crashing down loudly against either side of the seemingly empty house before withdrawing back with the tide.

The demoness sheathed the weapon and released the red colored wood causing the weapon to disperse back into air as she fell towards the ice cold water. At the last moment she focused chakra in to swipe away the waves to clear a calm spot on the water before refocusing the chakra back towards he feet. Yet as she landed the waters around shot up from the combined weight of two souls. The sudden rise of water distracted her momentarily, enough for Owari to break the focus on chakra and simply fall into the water. Then, as if on que, the sea’s tide grabbed at her body and dragged her straight under the icy wet without a word.

Today felt like any other day in Wind Country to Kasen. She had woken up in her small beach side house, her brother not here, and the sun having already crept up into the sky. It was hard finding things to do half the time simply because she lived outside any of the city limits. In fact, many would find it strange to just find the house on the beach in the first place, but it was the only place she truly felt at home. She had built the house with Kaen, something that suited both their needs. They weren't material people, they had never really even had anything material to even begin with. They were poor as children before the facility and then after the facility, they were given an allowance by their caretaker until they were of age and made their own money. But the house was at least something they could call theirs and was home to all of the mementos that they had acquired over the years. Kasen had a small workshop in the inner city, but she hadn't visited it since her return and she wasn't even sure if the leasing agreement was still standing. Perhaps Kaen had forgotten to make the payments or perhaps let the lease run out due to his sisters appearance. She really needed to sit down and have a talk with him about something things. She had only seen him the one time since her return, but things had felt off considering that she had been considered a con artist initially.

After some time from the morning past, Kasen found herself lounging on the sofa, a small blanket covering her as the salty brine filled air was carried in the windows by the ocean breeze. She wasn't necessarily cold, but it was more of a comfort thing. She held in her hands a book and idly flipped the pages, basically only skimming. Suddenly a noise caught Kasen's attention. It sounded like a voice, but between the walls of the house and the waves gently ebbing back and forth on the shore it was difficult to make out if that's what it was, let alone discern what was being said if that was the case. Kasen sat up from her lounging position, throwing the blanket off and placing a bookmark in her book before placing it on a nearby end table. The blue haired woman was dressed casually today, just a light blue tank top and some black shorts with flip flops on. She stood and allowed herself a moment to stretch. However, not a moment later, the breeze seemed to stop, and the gentle crashing of the waters did too. It was oddly silent.

A loud gust could be heard outside, almost like a sonic blast. Kasen quickly ran outside to investigate, throwing the wood door to the house wide open as she did so. "What in Mother Suna is going on?"<i></i> However, what Kasen was not prepared for was the giant wave that was headed right for her. She looked over and saw a woman parting the waves out some distance from the shore, so at least the house was safe<i></i>, but not much could be said about Kasen. But Kasen was basically the embodiment of the ocean. She had Poseidon's gift. Kasen braced her arms in front of her in an x-shape, planting her feet on the ground as the water crashed against her. She was encased in an almost shell as the water moved over and around her like a rock. When the water cleared from view, spilling into the now very saturated sands and receding back into the ocean, Kasen flipped the wet hair that had fallen into her face to the side a bit and took a moment to breathe. That had clearly not been something she had expected for today. The young woman looked around for the other woman and did not see her standing where she had once stood. A dread filled Kasen very quickly as she saw a lot of bubbling happening from where she had last seen the woman. "Shit..."<i></i> Kasen took off at a sprint towards the ocean before diving straight in.

Unlike most people, Kasen in a solid form, still barely had to breathe and she was not afraid of ocean life. Kasen looked around her, trying to get sight of another human. Falling down into the darkness below, Kasen caught sight of her and swam down as fast as she could. She reached her fairly effortlessly, and noticed that the woman appeared to be unconscious. Kasen wrapped an arm around the woman tightly and channeled some chakra into her feet. She was able to create a strong jet stream of water, essentially propelling her to the surface as a much quickly rate than her decent. Kasen broke through the surface, essentially launching herself and the woman out of the water, and Kasen rode the waves down towards the beach. As Kasen's feet hit the sand, she stumbled a bit and rolled. The other woman falling next to her. Kasen, on hands and knees, crawled over to her and tried to assess the situation. She was a mednin, but she rarely had to ever save someone from drowning. "Ok, ok, come on...are you ok?"<i></i> Kasen would wait a moment to see if the woman was responsive at all, if she was then she had made it in time which would be fantastic. If not, she would place an ear on the woman's chest to check for breathing and a heartbeat before starting general CPR. Kasen would make sure that this woman would not die today.

Beneath the darkness of the waves the demoness looked around with nothing short of desperation. Her head moved back and forth in terror as she tried to ignored the feeling of her chest attempting to explode. The twin mentally screamed in terror at the male soul harboring itself helplessly in her mind.

Neither of them knew what to do.

Michino had only the most basic of swimming techniques, and that was just enough to lightly enjoy the caverns beneath the Dojo. Trapped beneath only the gods knew how much water and the oxygen they needed to survive, both souls panicked. The demoness knew nothing of swimming period, and even as her twin desperately tried to explain the necessary functions to move around in water, the feeling of her esophagus clenching, demanding that she breathe, was all too distracting. The duo thrashed and rolled beneath the waves as the undertow dragged them ever deeper. Owari could feel a fire burning through her body, causing her muscles to twitch and contort until finally she could no longer resist the human body’s natural urges. Water rushed into her lungs and a thick heavy black liquid quickly filled her sight and senses.

The two souls trapped inside a mortal body floated there in the water. It was but mere seconds before Kasen was able to find them, but in the shadows of death the two stood before each other. Owari was in her natural form, a small child-like Oni, with ruby flesh and a playful face; except only shame was written on it.
Michino’s soul was easily four-time the size of the ruby-skinned demoness, and took on the shape of a humanoid panther with branching horns that grew from his crown. It seemed to look down in discontent. This was a strange sight to see, if the viewer knew of the Toraono’s past. For most of his childhood the imp’s soul was his tormentor. A terrible power he had been born with that split his Ego and Id after a traumatic event. Eventually he came to terms with the creature, restructured his own Ego, and allowed the demonic soul that had been split from his own to study mankind; so that it too would form an Id. Eventually the two became fully separate entities and had a camaraderie that worked well for his military career; given that Michino was a pacifist. Yet as the fates would have it the two souls eventually split from the same host as Owari fully joined her own kind by signing her soul to the Youkai realm. In that same fateful day though, the Toraono also signed his allegiance with the demons.
A great deal of time had passed between the two, short for one, long for another, and now Michino held the full upper hand. Despite the power she was given, Owari had only the slightest of ideas on how to use the magic she was granted. Her twin, on the other hand, recently spent two years training under a death god. The power of the Prophet was easily enough to crush the small imp that had dared played with his mortal shell’s fragility. Yet, instead, a single digit of the gigantic feline’s paw reached out and pet the side of Owari’s left face. The imp’s face beamed suddenly, confused that her twin be so confident while facing his mortal end, but exuberant at what his gesture showed.
He didn’t blame her.

An explosion of light rocked everything the twin souls knew and suddenly Owari was experiencing the extended limbs of her human form. She still couldn’t sense anything but the inky black that had took her beneath water. Something, it felt like a horse, was stomping on her chest, and while it wasn’t quite painful, yet, it was becoming really annoying. Then suddenly water exploded from her mouth and the afternoon sun was glaring daggers into her eyes. She coughed, choked, and after a second rolled onto her side to retch even more sea water up before taking in a deep breath…and then collapsed.
The demon’s head was swimming, rolling as it did beneath the waves, and her hearing was just barely working. She tried responding to anything the person who, no doubt, just saved her from drowning, but couldn’t even begin to form a sentence. It was about this time that the imp decided she had enough of mortality and said, out loud,
Screw this…

Michino tried to stop her, but before he could even try to activate the seal that normally controlled her, the Youkai slipped out of his body. What was female suddenly became male after the chakra used to half create the current form exploded into the air in the form of a thick steam. All the pain and misery of nearly drowning, along with his sex changing back, suddenly attacked the young male’s senses. Only his training kept him from outright blacking out. He began to hack a little more violently than his twin did. The Toraono tried to get a grip on reality, and began to stand up when he remembered that he didn’t have a left leg, and fell right back over into the beach.

Moments like these often feel endless. Up and down, up and down, strong pushes over the breast bone, tilt head, breath, more compressions. After several moments, the woman seemed to cough before water spewed forth from her mouth. Kasen leaned back, taking deep breaths herself. She watched as the woman tried to orient herself. Kasen stared into her eyes, trying to examine her pupils as she was coming to in order to check for signs of brain damage, but it appeared like they were dilating correctly given the intense glare she was giving to the sky. "There you go, you're gonna be ok! Just keep coughing, get all the fluid out and move slowly." However, the other woman appeared to have little regard for what Kasen was saying. She had quickly rolled over, a severe coughing fit having overtaken her, and then fell onto the sands once more. Kasen thought she could make out some kind of mumbling, but words were not exactly reaching her ears.

"Ma'am...here, let me help..."Kasen stood, aiming to help the woman up, but suddenly a blast of hot vapor filled the area, accompanied by a stream cloud. As it cleared, Kasen saw no sight of the woman she had been trying to help, but in her place was now a man that was violently coughing worse than the previous one and looking half dead. The water hybrid stood still on the beach, trying to piece what had just happened together. She had heard of people changing their genders before, even full on appearances, but usually it was not something that took place in an instant. "Um...well..." Kasen thought of one other circumstance it could be, but it just seemed rather odd that it would be something along the lines of a gender change and not simple another form. Reminded of the time that Same had taken control of Kasen by a surge of Same's chakra that overhauled her own, Kasen had been transformed into some form of humanoid shark hybrid. Despite the circumstances not being identical, Kasen couldn't help but wonder if this wasn't something similar. However, nothing along those lines had yet been proven to her despite the small curiosity. Perhaps the young man had simply been transformed to look like another, but the mannerisms appeared to be completely different.

Getting her head back to where it needed to be, Kasen hurried to the young man's side just as he tried to stand. Acting quickly, Kasen wrapped her arms around his torso, using her shoulder as a prop under one of his arms to help him stand so he wouldn't collapse onto the sands. "Hey, I got ya, take it easy there." The blue haired woman then started to lightly pat him on the back. "Strong breaths. It's going to burn like hell, but you need to cough out as much water as possible. That's it." She wasn't sure if he was hearing what she was saying over the sounds of his coughing and of the waves still rolling across the sand as they washed in, but she hoped that the instruction she was giving was at least somewhat comforting and helpful. "What um...was she...were you....uh, you guys trying to accomplish all the way out in these waters? Nobody really comes out here unless they have some kind of objective. It's so far from any of the towns." Kasen waited a bit, allowing for the man to catch his breath and garner the strength to stand. She would then start to guide them back towards the inside of her house to recuperate and dry off.

As the world started to tilt sideways, the seven-foot tall man felt a presence push into his side. Michino felt a head of hair hit his ribs, causing him to stumble a little as Kasen set him straight. He placed a heavy hand on her shoulder, surprised at how small it was and yet how strong her entire being seemed. He began to turn his head to get a closer look at the small person who had saved him.
The tall dark demonkin she held up right was a soul that had long ago began to stray from the same roads normal mortals walked. With the power blessed to him from a realm of death, the Toraono could feel and sense others that had began to stray from the path of mortality into loftier realms. What he felt hold him up wasn’t a human female, but the ocean itself. When he turned his head to look, for just a moment, all he could see was the endless depths of power she held, as well as the endless depths that almost ended him only moments ago. A quiver of fear shook his body for a moment as he turned his head back and allowed the powerful elemental to walk the immortal slayer back to her beach home.
The tall man stopped on her porch and sat down on the edge with a heavy flop, his weight no doubt causing the wood beneath to creak with concern. Out here, in the open, he took Kasen’s advice and continued to cough and retch the sea water out of his lungs and stomach into the beach sand at his feet. Michino’s body had become ice cold, made even worse by the sweat of fear and water that clung to his form. Though even as the cold winds of the ocean blew down on his wet form, the man didn’t even so much as shiver. His mind was clouded by a mix of near-death, fear, and the endurance of pain, but the body, however, was on high alert and showed no weakness. His well taught muscles refused to shake and twitch in their usual attempt to heat his body, as most humans would.
The Toraono quite literally didn’t know what to make of Kasen. She was his savior from the Depths, and for that owed her a life debt within just moments of meeting. On the other hand, however, he could sense her wielding power that was normally reserved for the likes of those that had broken their mortal bounds; those he was sworn to kill. The fact that he also must need come to terms with fighting his honed honor, versus his sworn duty, growled deep in the back of his head.
His half brother, the scientist Ryuu Tama, was an immortal. A man that, one day, he too would have to strike down, even though such an act was expressly forbidden in his clan. Now he owed his life to a woman who could very well be one of the beings he was trained to kill - another possible stain to his honor.
To his surprise, Kasen was incredibly hospitable. Even though Michino was the reason she very nearly didn’t have a house, and could very well be some kind of spy, the elemental was taking care of him. Surely she could sense his suspicious hostilities? In spite of that, only words of concern and encouragement were spoken to the demonkin, relaxing at least a few of his paranoid thoughts.

We…we’re training,” he replied with a scratchy voice, “It’s a very long story. To sum it up in the simplest way I can, I’m a twin, and my twin sister is only a soul, but she can inhabit my body sometimes when I let her. Through a mix of chakra and…demon, things…she can turn my body into a form that is more comfortable to move in.
I was attempting to train her physical prowess. I’m a pacifist, and she can draw out our full power, so generally I used to let her do the fighting but lately…well, lets say the enemies are more than just the grunts we normally tear through. So I was trying to see if I could impart some of my recent studies onto her…which almost turned into the loss of this house. I’m really sorry, by the way.

Michino took in a deep breath and coughed more liquid fire out of his lungs until he was sure the last of the sea water was out. The explanation was short but revealed enough information to garner a little trust, he hoped, as he also admitted to being the person who almost destroyed her home. Laced through his words was enough to give certain people, the ones he tried to avoid, enough to give him reason to walk away or otherwise. Of course, being that she just saved his life, he really hoped it wasn’t otherwise. The demonkin didn’t take well to the thought of fighting the ocean.

As Michino finally took a seat and allowed himself to recover some functionality of his lungs, Kasen would begin gathering some things from various rooms around the house. The house itself was small, which meant that she would still be able to listen to his responses even as she busied herself with finding things. As he mentioned training, she could easily see how that would be plausible. None would expect someone to actually be living out here and if things got out of control, it wouldn't cause any harm to civilians or surrounding buildings. At least, that's what one would expect, right? Kasen made her way over and took a seat opposite of him just as he started to mention his "twin". "A soul using you as a vessel, you say?" Kasen said nothing further, but this new information his her like a ton of bricks. Now who does that remind you of? Kasen understood based on what the man had said that this wasn't quite the circumstance that she found herself in. Same wasn't a demon of any kind, or at least that's what she understood. It was...difficult to determine what Same was and how their connection really held in the first place given how much experimentation had been performed on her in combination with whatever her heritage was that caused all these medically improbably changes within her. However, it sounded awfully similar to her relationship with Same that she felt that perhaps she could be of use. Having withnessed the change, or separation as it were, of the two entites, she could only describe that it looked incredibly painful. She remembered the first time she had been forced to change into the shark hummanoid hybrid due to the overwhelming presence of Same's power flooding her system all at once and it had been both painful and an overwhelming loss of control. Kasen would not wish such a thing onto anyone else.

Sitting silently for a moment, Kasen finally handed over some of the things that she had been gathering while Michino spoke. It was a large white fluffy towel, and a change of clothes. They were some of Kaen's so perhaps they would be too small for him, but the clothes were too big on him anyway. Kasen also set down a warm cup of green tea on the coffee table that sat between them. "Oh, don't worry about the house. Recently, it found itself a victim of a rather destructive fight between my brother and I. It seemed to hold up with only a few holes." Kasen laughed thinking about the fight. Kaen had really thought she was an imposter. I mean, she understood, but like, calm down hot head. Kasen allowed herself to sip some of her own tea before starting to explain a bit herself. "I...oddly....can relate to your situation. I, um, find myself in a bit of similar relationship. When I was young, I was forced to bond with a powerful spirit. She managed to control my body in ways that felt like I was always at war with myself. I eventually got forced into a change that was not mutual and caused a lot of harm. I...still find it hard to live with that." Growing quite, the only thing that seemed to fill the room was a thick awkward tension. Well, at least for her, considering Michino was still probably struggling to breathe.

"You know, up until recently we didn't get along. But, I had made a promise to her that one day I would find a way to give her her own body. While her soul is always tethered to mine, with a lot of practice, I managed to finally do it. Perhaps....perhaps I could teach you, if you think that would help with the training you desire to make that relationship more comfortable for you both?" The blue haired woman hoped she hadn't thrown too much at Michino too fast. She had just met him, but she had never met another who shared such a burden so similar to herself. Burden?!? Excuse me?!? Kasen apologized mentally for her word choice. She had only meant to imply that it had not been something she had expected or even wanted initially, having to work through a lot of toil to cope and become friends with Same until they formed a functional symbiotic relationship. Now, however, she wouldn't trade it for the world.

The haze in his head was starting to drift out, allowing him to listen with a little more clarity. He took the clothes and towel with a nod of thanks and placed the cloth of drying over his head. For the moment he just sat there and listened to Kasen, trying to gather his water-addled wits. The towel provided some warmth to his head and the smells attached had a homey scent to them, allowing his body to unwind just a little. The woman before him, despite the power he sensed, genuinely seemed like a concerned human. When she offered to help him with Owari’s training, and how, all he could do for a moment was stare through the towel in small awe.
He couldn’t remember the last time someone had just kindly offered him something. Though, there was a gap of time he was a way outside the normal chronological flow of their universe, and he tended to forget that. Of the few years spent training under the death god Hyou, only three hours passed in the desert while Owari guarded his unconscious, soulless body. In his time back to the village since then, about a month, he had been working hard on reintegrating himself back into the military. There hadn’t been a lot time to spend with Chiyo despite them living in the same small apartment. His goals continued during the day, her’s at night. Sousuke was busy with his duties, Tama was nowhere to be found, and there wasn’t a lot of his own generation that still enjoyed being around the Toraono due to the prejudice they grew up with. So Kasen offering him help without asking anything in return, truly caught him off guard. The fact that she too had gone through some of the same torment made this meeting a welcome surprise. For the first time he could recall, he was speaking with someone who also once struggled under the weight of power.

I…well, yeah. She has a physical form in her own realm, I just have no idea how to draw it out. If I knew how to do that, I could properly teach her the Tora-no-Ken too…” Michino lowered his head, his guard, and looked at the clothes set before him. The shinobi training told him this was probably a trap. His need for human interaction said, ‘Well, you could probably run further into the desert. Just how far could she pull the ocean up anyways?’
Gathering the clothes before him, the giant of a man walked around the back of the house to change. The first thing he noted, was there was no way the pants were fitting. The pant leg tore the moment he tried to pull it over his gigantic right thigh. The left, he was probably sure he could fit, but the right leg bore his weight and had far more mass. He wasn’t even going to start on why the briefs were uncomfortable. The shirts given to him seemed to be a sleeveless undershirt and button up combo that Michino once wore himself when he was into Underground Boxing. The difference was the mass he had put into his shoulders from learning how to fight with one leg. The undershirt ended up stretching so far over his wide frame it rode up like tank-top, and the other shirt ripped at the shoulders when he tried to pull it closed. With a defeated sigh the giant of a man ripped the sleeves off the over shirt, ripped off the under shirt, and pulled back on his own pants. He gave them a brief drying with some quick fire-jutsu first, which honestly left them more burnt than dried, but at least they didn’t cling to him anymore. Gathering the torn and wet clothing he placed them, awkwardly, before Kasen’s door before ducking back in.
The, uh, pants and such were a no go. The shirts, uh, I ripped. Sorry. I usually have to get my clothes special tailored from a guy in the Bazaar. Good friend of our family,” he said sheepishly as he continued to rub and shake the sea salt out of his insanely long white hair with the towel.

Despite her attempt at being hospitable, it appeared that Kasen still had not quite grasped the fundamentals of "one size", does not in fact, fit all. As Michino returned from "dressing" Kasen immediately took notice of his burnt clothes before following up with the fact that they were the clothes he had had on prior. Now, burnt clothes was something that Kasen had been used to, because before Kaen had some control over his abilities, most of their belongings seemed to end up burnt to ashes. However, Michino didn't appeare to be the type to have such issues as Kaen did. Taking a look at Michino, Kasen realized where the mistake was made. Kaen, whom despite being nearly half a foot taller than her, was still dwarfed by Michino. Perhaps she had failed to distinguish the difference because she had not seen her brother in ages and was remembering some things incorrectly. Kasen blushed out of slight embarrassment for her miscalculation. "I'm sorry, I think I overestimated my brother's height." The room grew quiet briefly. To avoid the awkwardness, Kasen tried to move the topic along.

"Right, so, now that that ordeal is fixed, somewhat, follow me. Can't very well summon indoors. That would be a disaster. Same is a little huge." I prefer to be recognized as large and in charge. Oh her way out of the house, Kasen grabbed a couple energy drinks for the two of them. It was more so just to have in case they needed it, but considering this training had been rigorous on her, sometimes a nice boost helped get things going. Waving Michino through the door behind her, Kasen walked out onto the dried sand of the beaches and continued to walk down the coastline in the opposite direction of Soon's Haven. "We haven't formally introduced ourselves, but I'm Kasen. I'm a mednin of the village, but I usually spend most of my mind out here. The spirit that resides inside me is named Samebizu, but she prefers to go by Same. Who might you be?" Kasen waited to hear Michino's responses. The coastline seemed to stretch on forever, but given the number of times her house nearly got caught in the crossfire of things, it would be more suitable for things to not be around them. "Just a little further. I've found this area to be a good training ground" Kasen pointed to a destination up ahead that seemed to show some wear and tear on the landscaping around it.

There appeared to be a small circle of stones placed upon the ground and there was a small dip in the sand inside the circle. Around the stones were small pools of water. Around the circle, there was evident damage in that there appeared to be huge divots in the sand and several larger rocks nearby that had been split open. Some of the sand also seemed to have a glassy texture to it and shimmered brighter than the surrounding area. "My brother and I come here sometimes, but as of recently it's just been me. I learned to bring forth a body for Same here." Kasen placed the two energy drinks firmly in the sand, allowing for the ocean current to just barely wash onto the containers. Despite living in a warmer climate, the waters would still keep it cooler than just sitting in the sun. Turning to face Michino, Kasen grinned, all of her prominent pointy teeth on display. "Ready to begin?"

There was a small tension in the air. Michino hated awkward moments like this, especially with women, as he had somewhat of a hang-up when it came to the opposite sex. Thankfully, it wasn’t like his brother who’s fear of women was a full mental disorder. His mistrust was built more of a fearful respect due to the strong women in his family, and Chiyo. More the latter, actually, than the former. Living in a relationship with a former femme fatal with a deadly hand brought up more than a few questions about what she did with her free time, but thankfully the worst of that had been over since the event that took his leg. Having just ripped good clothes that had been given to him by Kasen was more than simply embarrassing; it was low-key dishonorable. Thankfully, she seemed skilled in breaking awkward silences,
S-summon? Same? Wha-” and before he knew it, Michino was cautiously following behind the blue-haired female. After formally introducing herself, a familiar aspect of herself and its name, the Toraono could feel his tensions loosening enough to open up,
Toraono Michino, candidate for Clan Head,” he responded, being rather proud of that fact despite being also a little terrified of it, also, Main Branch, though my half-brother, a one Ryuu Tama, works in the Medical. You may, or may not, have heard of him. I find it oddly hit-and-miss with his popularity despite how much he goes on about it.

Before long the two reached their destination. Looking out towards the rocks, pools, and mild destruction, the martial artist recognized the training grounds as Kasen explained them. Looking at the glassy bits of sand he couldn’t help but wonder who her brother was. As Michino turned around to see Kasen’s toothy grin, the large man couldn’t help but feel a cold shock run up his spine. Her intentions continued to seem benign, and it appeared she had brought him out here for training. After doing some head-math, he guessed it had something to do with summoning Owari into their realm. Despite his studies, the swath of information he had from both the Sunan Library and Tama’s Research, he could never quite pin down the Summoning Technique. No doubt it was probably due to his odd connection to the imp and her Youkai buddies. Now someone who had the same kind of bond as he did was attempting to show him how she brought forth the Shark of Sharks into their realm,
Yes, please. Teach me.” If he could get Owari’s body into this realm without needing his own to use a conduit, the possibilities of strengthening their contract would be nigh endless.

Apparently, the Youkai realm did not serve ramen.
