Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

  • Name: Kurosawa Yuunagi.
    Age: 15 y/o.
    Gender: Trans male.
    Sex: Female.
    Rank: Genin.
General Description: Yuunagi stands five feet, four inches tall (and growing) and weighs in at about one hundred and fifteen pounds. He has the characteristic gangly limbs and slouch of a typical teenager, often seen loitering about on village grounds in a white shirt, navy blue, long sleeved jacket, and slate gray hakama pants with black ninja sandals. Despite his general, uh, gangliness, he does have quite a bit of muscle from his days at the Academy and keeps it in top shape with regular training. He takes extreme care when binding his unfortunately large chest, especially before missions. But he's proud of his long, violet hair, even though it's still ridiculously long tied up, stopping just past his hips. At least it's not trailing behind him as it normally would when it's down...

    --

Yuunagi is a bit of a jokester. He's the sort who tries to lighten up the atmosphere by being silly or riling people up. Among his peers at the Academy, he was often rebuked for being carefree in the face of such brutal training. Though, he doesn't care much for what others think of him. Neither does he care particularly for authority figures in general—he doesn't have a good opinion of them, but he'll follow orders as necessary. His irreverent attitude has definitely gotten him in trouble in the past, which is why he's a lot more subtle with his jabs (or, at least, he tries to be). His curious, observant nature has also led him astray a few times. Now he simply keeps his head down and watches things play out, rarely bothering to intervene.

Others find him a bit unnerving because he does everything with a smile. Even enemies may find him savagely grinning in the heat of battle. Yuunagi finds enjoyment in the small things in life: good food, people watching, stabbing, and so on and so forth. It's only natural that he smiles at things he likes. Though, his class clown act is more of a facade that he employs to purposefully throw others off. He guards his true feelings almost to an obsessive degree—he tolds everyone at an arm's length, allowing them to drift away but never get close. His sense of humor has an underlying dark edge to it, and it becomes prominent when he's under pressure or duress.

When it comes to high-stress, high-risk situations, such as missions gone awry, Yuunagi becomes vicious, cold, and unyielding—a proper shinobi. He still retains his humor, but he's more like to make morbid, dark jokes in the face of danger. If he believes that he's been betrayed or slighted, he reveals a much crueler side of him that's usually hidden away. He's a firm believer of the "eye for an eye" law. If one hurts him or any of the people he cares about, he has free reign to inflict the same hurt onto the offender. Yuunagi takes no pleasure out of hurting or killing others, but he doesn't place importance on the sanctity of life or whatever. In the same vein, he doesn't care much if he gets a few scrapes or bumps (read: incredibly injured) as long as he can still breathe and move.

History: Yuunagi's earliest memories are vague. He remembers traveling with his father, staying in towns for only a few days at a time before they went back out on the road again. At times, he'd ask why they never stayed for long. His father always came up with a different answer each time Yuunagi asked, so the question eventually morphed into that of a storytelling game. One day, they would be visiting an old friend in a remote village. The next, they would camp out in the wilderness, where he'd learn how to hunt and how to be a true ninja like his father.

Though, shadowy figures seemed to trail after them everywhere. Yuunagi never quite realized why they were chased, just that it had something to do with one of his father's jobs or another. It'd be bad luck, a bad employer, a bad job, but never his father's status as a missing nin of all things (not that Yuunagi knew). But his father always stayed a step ahead of them, since he was smart and brave and strong. Nothing could ever beat him! Yuunagi was always safe with his father—until he wasn't.

One could never escape hunter nin for long, anyway.

His father wound up dead after taking a hit meant for Yuunagi, a trap that worked all too well. Yuunagi was taken in by the group of assassins as a result; he was only about seven years old at the time. The hunter nin had no idea what to do with this newly orphaned, young waif that seemed terrified of anyone who wasn't the missing nin. Eventually, they traveled to the Country of Lightning and bargains were made. Yuunagi wound up in the the hands of the CPSS for a hefty sum for his innate potential to control chakra. For all Yuunagi knew, he'd been sent to prison.

The Shinobi Academy of the Cloud Village refined and honed his roughshod skill into something worthwhile. While he trained there, he'd been grouped with several other children. Some were like him—one grew up a boy instead of a girl, another grew up a girl instead of a boy. Yuunagi fell into the latter, as his father called him his little girl or little flower. Yuunagi wasn't either of those, unfortunately, and he never got to tell his father before he died. Still, it was reassuring to have at least one other person who understood what it was like to be a boy living the life of a girl.

Life at the Academy was, to put it bluntly, hellish in spite of his newfound camaraderie. It was constant training almost all day, everyday. He'd never felt this much rigor, even while training with his dearly departed father. But Yuunagi gritted his teeth and endured, because he would not let his father's sacrifice be in vain. All he needed to do was survive, right?

Eventually, he graduated. Several long years of thorough, difficult training later, he was a certified shinobi of the Cloud Village at age thirteen.

Welcome to NC!

Question before I can put this forward: Which village did Yuunagi's father nuke from? Will just need approval from the appropriate council and then we should be good to go!

Sand Council Response:

We would feel more comfortable if more information was provided on the Sand involvement in this app. We’d love to provide any information to help shape the concept a bit further to approve. As it is right now, we are not on board but if more information could be fleshed out (who is this shinobi and why did they go missing would probably be the biggest bits we’d like to know)!

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, and if you’d like to discuss ways to make this flow into Sand’s story (even if it’s just a small scale thing of determining why they went missing) please just private message me!
