Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Akazukin is a rather interesting individual possessing an extremely rare doujutsu called the Tokeigan or clock eye. As much as she is aware, she is the only human to possess such a strange doujutsu. The Tokeigan only changes one of a person’s eye and is always visible. Its appearance as one could guess by the name is a clock within an eye. What is really unusual about its appearance is the fact that it is a functioning clock, which tells the correct time. The eye gives the user the ability to look into the future and temporally step into it. However the distance into future is relatively short compared to science fiction novels. Akazukin can see and travel through time on a scale of a couple of minutes. Some would find her restricted vision and travel makes the power mute, but one can do interesting things by seeing events a minute ahead of time.

Like all skills practice is the key to mastering the technique. Akazukin finds a casino would make a perfect place to train. If see wanted to she could completely clean house, but she rather not get black listed. Though she does not exactly hide her abilities, she never plays big money. She stays under the radar by making minimum bets and leaving with only a small profit. She has heard of quite the interesting casino called the Devils Lair and from the sounds of the owner it could be risky but what was life without a little risk?

She walks up to the front desk and places a bag of yen on the counter. “I heard this place has a bath house. I would like someone to give my Totoro a bath.” She was of coarse referring to her wolf standing beside her. She heard this was a place of sin and desire so she doesn’t see any reason for her request to be denied. Though the bath was only the start of her perversions. As for the contents of the bag; it was a suitable some. There are times that nobles would make such minor missions for shinobi to perform. In the bag was 2500 yen which is the normal prize for a simple D-rank mission such as this. Akazukin then places a card on the counter next to the bag of money. On the card was a strange symbol that suggest that a clone jutsu was sealed with in it. “Rip this card, if he presents you trouble. Also tear the card if no one agrees to wash him. If the card remains unused and Tororo is happy with his bath, I will provide a small bonus.”

Hirotomi smiled at the young girl who approached the desk. The request was nothing out of the unusual as they had a great variety in their patrons. With a slight bow of her head she would speak. "I'm sure Totoro will enjoy the bath Miss. I'll ensure the attendants are informed of the conditions you've set." her voice was warm & friendly as she spoke to the girl. She took special note of the girls eye knowing her Lord would be most eager to meet the child first hand. Pressing a button from behind the counter she would continue to speak. "Could please hand over all of your weaponry I'll ensure it is secured until your departure. Taking any further inside is strictly Forbidden by management. Refusal will unfortunately result in you being refused entrance." she would say with that same warm smile upon her face.

It was after all not an odd request when one considered the measures taken by security. Let alone due to the nature of the establishments patrons if the rumors were true. Talk of all manner of beings had been sighted within it's walls, the owner had made it known this place was to be neutral grounds. Those who broke the rules of the house were punished swiftly & made into examples. Apparently a Kitsune who'd established quite a reputation for himself. After a few moments two women would walk into the foyer each giving both Akazukin & Totoro deep bows. If the weapons had been handed over one would motion for Totoro to follow her after she had retrieved the card. While the other would lead Akazukin further into the Casino. It was an elaborate multi-leveled establishment. Each level devoted to different games & some even having entertainment stages.

Un-uniformed security moved through the crowds & most of the staff had training in shinobi arts. There wasn't a single space in the building that wasn't covered by the security feeds that were constantly monitored. In the center of the games room was a large golden statue of a Kitsune, it's resemblance identical to that of Akkuma. There was a constant symphony of cheers, buzz of gaming machines & the heavenly sounds of the performers on stage. This place was truly alive with life. It's patrons ranged from the poor to nobles, that wasn't even including the various unearthly & supernatural beings that walked among them. Everyone seemed to pay no mind to the different beings that surrounded them. In fact it was perhaps one of the reasons why so many people flocked to the establishment. After all there were few other places one could actively see these supernatural beings interacting with mortals.

“You would disarm a poor girl like me?” She says in an astonished manor, but it was clear that she was clear that she was joking. Akazukin takes the musket strapped to her back and the flint pistol strapped to her left ankle and holds them in her hand for a moment. “Before I hand Funshin and Jishin over to you I require to do something first. Do not be alarmed for I am not the suicidal type.” The girls would likely wonder what she means by that last statement, but they would find out soon enough.
shoot11.png
Soon out of thin air a large clock would appear behind her or at least what looks similar to a clock. It was round, had visible gears that turned and had large roman numerals going around the outer edge. However it was missing something rather important; the clocks face hand no hands Standing in the center of the clock facing them she hold her musket straight up into the air and her flint to her left making an L shape. With her guns pointed in such a way they looked like hands to a clock, hence their names. The time she was showing was three O’clock. What happens next would likely concern them despite her warning as she holds the pistol point blank to her head. With a pull of the trigger the gun fires with a bang, but it was not a bullet that can out of a gun but a surge of chakra. Her red eye glows as she enter the Enlightened State #3: The Empress. In this state she herself becomes a weapon which varies on type depending which time she showed.

The clock would then vanish and she would hand the guns to the woman across the desk. She looks straight into the ladies eyes with an angry glare. “If these guns end up missing, I will personally kill you and eat you for dinner.” She then turns to the one that was to escort Totoro to the baths. “That goes the same to you should any harm come to my precious pet.” Threats killing someone was not unusual in a shinobi village and she was sure they understood why she did so.

She would then follow the girl to the casino. Once there she would see the golden fox standing proud in the center and quickly she would look away from it. The statue brought bad memories of times before she came to this desert lands. It was a fox that she met in the forest long ago that ate her soul and a priest kill it to save her. It was her soul tainted by the foxes corruption and attained some of its powers. It is because of this she has the ability to manipulate time. “What is with the statue?” she asks herself aloud in a hushed tone. Then suddenly a server came up to her offering her some drink, “Oh, I’m sorry I cannot partake.”

Hirotomi giggled at the girls words "I'd never be so impolite as to assume you're a defenseless girl." her words were said with experience. She knew better then to judge ones capabilities by the way they appeared. After all she was a member of the Miroku Clan & as such had seen more than most shinobi. A warm & friendly smile was upon her face showing that she too was able to joke. At the girls words the attendant would bow her head briefly a sign that she acknowledged the request. She would not react in any way to the abnormal scene that just took place before her instead only saying "Thank you for complying...that's quite a gift you have Miss?" she'd ask the girl. After all names were such a common thing, but so few actually realized the power that came with knowing ones names. As she accepted the firearms from the young kunoichi. It was however the young girls next words that made her giggle.

"Understood, but do know failure to comply with any orders given by staff could be...disastrous." her words were no threat but a warning just like the one that had been issued by the young kunoichi. The other attendants would merely giggle at the display from the girl as they bowed. If she knew just who their Lord was perhaps she'd have understood why they felt no fear. With that she was shown into the Casino while Totoro was guided towards the Bath House. The young kunoichi's refusal of the drink attendant chuckle. "I'm sorry I was just going to say that statue is of Lord Akkuma. He's the owner of this establishment." with those words & a warm grin the woman would go off to tend to other patrons. Thus leaving the girl to her own devices, although that didn't mean she was alone. No one was truly alone in this Casino for no matter where one went there was always someone watching.

Totoro would find the bath house beyond his wildest expectations. Inside where all manner of beings, servers moved along asking for the orders of their patrons. The attendants seemed to vary almost as much as the patrons, all manner of being was present. A blonde young attendant walked over to the kunoichi's companion with a warm smile. She was of the Inuzuka heritage, although her own skills seemed to be restricted purely to communication. "You must be Totoro I'm Kira, I'm glad to meet you. Is there anything you'd like to eat or drink before we begin you treatment?" she'd ask in that charming voice of hers with a warm & welcoming grin. She always enjoyed meeting new beings! It was why she was so happy when her Lord had asked her if she'd wish to be an interpreter for their patrons.

“You may refer to me as Akazukin.” She tells the woman at the front desk. She felt no need to speak her whole name especially in a place such as this. She recalls the many of the odd traditions her family had that were heavily influenced by superstition. She had two names in fact; a given name and a true name. Giving out one’s true name is considered a proposal for marriage and thus she doubt she will ever anyone her true name.
###
Totoro was more than a little surprised to find a person that could speak to him in a tongue he could understand so clearly. It has been quite some time since he spoke with a human that could understand him. “Finally, a human I can hold a conversation with.” Despite being a daughter to an Inuzuka clan, Akazukin inherited none of the bloodline abilities. Totoro was not in the same boat. He was bread to be an Inuzuka companion and if he was given to one with the abilities he would make quite the loyal companion. “I apologize, but I cannot partake. Like my master, I am bound by tradition. I can only eat what I or my master have killed ourselves. She is bound by the same tradition.” Totoro has cheated on this tradition many times, but the risk of Akazukin finding out was too high. “Being that you can talk to me I assume you are Inuzuka. What is your canine companion like?” Totoro was now thinking about what happens after the bath. Totoro hopes it was female and available.

Akazukin exchanges some of her money for some chips and walks to the roulette wheel. As Akazukin divines the final state of the ball by peering into the future, the hands of the clock within her eye spins sporadically. They spun around in different directions before finally returning back to the correct time. Akazukin then places a chip on black which was an outside bid and thus she would not gain too much from winning. Like most training sessions she starts with a safe bet and gradually get more risky. However there was no real risk when you know the outcome. Next she bets odd and she wins. She bets the ball will land in the first dozen and she wins. Each time she does an outside bet getting not much in return. The next spin however she does not bet at all and decides to leave the roulette wheel altogether. The ball lands on 0. Before each spin of the wheel, the hands of the clock within her eye went wild.

As she goes to a different gambling table would place the chips she won on a serving tray of a staff member; the same one that told her about the statue she believes. Akauzkin only kept the chips she started out with. “My compliments to the owner of the establishment.” After finding out the owner was a fox she decides to play it safe and not keep any of her winnings. Surely this Lord Akkuma cannot get to mad if she constantly gives the money back.

Hirotomi smiled a name for the curious being that had stepped through their threshold. As Akazukin walked away & her companion Totoro was escorted away. Those in the security room would be constantly updating the Fox. Who sat up in his office starring at various monitors surveying those within his domain. His headset would buzz to life with a brief description of the kunoichi within his premises. Along with a description of her canine companion. His ears would twitch slightly as he restrained himself from going to immediately investigate. For now he would simply sit & see what they did. Switching through his camera feeds following the actions of the two newcomers.

Kira smiled warmly & gave a giggle at the canines words. As it spoke her eyes scanned the room "I understand Mr Totoro...please follow me." turning on the spot she would turn & begin walking to the back wall of the bathhouse. Counting her steps quietly to herself as she walked along the wall. She would reach what she hoped was the right door for fear of embarrassing herself. Pressing her hand against the wall a light seal would begin to glow as the stone slid away to reveal a hidden elevator. "Please follow me." she'd say to him. There would be something different about the girl not just the way she carried herself but that look within her eyes. There was an animalistic hunger deep within the depths of her gaze. This close to one another in the elevator he would be able to notice the Heterochromia that was a sign of her condition. She possessed one crimson eye & another hazel one.

"I have no companion. None would accept me..." as they descended the scents of the bathhouse would fade & Totoro would be able to smell the subtle demonic scent that drifted from the girl. "It's okay though I don't mind I have plenty of friends though." she would say giving a warm smile although her eyes betrayed the instinctual sadness her kind felt when they lived solitary lives. Kira wondered what prey the canine would choose to hunt. Whatever he chose they had plenty of options for the being to choose from. Soon enough he would see this place was not what it seemed to be.

Akazukin it would seem had gotten the upper hand of most of the staff present in the room. But not all beings were as ignorant as such subtle shifts as mortals. Many of the patrons who were capable of sensing such shifts began discussing it wondering would be so foolish. Little did they know the girl was not quite that bold & had been returning her winnings. At first the staff member was confused as to why the girl was returning her winnings. But when her headset crackled to life she would freeze as his voice came through her ear piece. "Inform Miss Akazukin she can keep it. Compliments from the house for her forwardness..." she was wondering what he meant but knew he would want his message passed on. "Miss Akazukin, I've been informed you can keep your winnings." little did she know it was because Akkuma appreciated the revelation that he'd forgotten to put measures in place to ensure such actions couldn't take place.

Standing he would walk towards his lift & descend to the level Akazukin was presently on. It took him only a matter of seconds to move through the crowd with an unnatural finesse. Taking a drink from one of the hostesses & appearing before Akazukin. "Neat trick there Miss Akazukin..." he would say with a warm grin upon his face. Those many tails swinging behind his back. There was a mischievous look in his eyes that was a reflection of the Kitsune nature that was becoming his defining trait. "What made you hand the money back?" he would ask wondering why she'd not initially kept the winnings. If she still had not accepted them he would take them & hand them to the girl. "Take them you won them fairly in my books." after all he had many measures in place to stop would be cheats. He enjoyed learning the many ways individuals devised to get an upper hand.

"There was a time when I could replicate such feats as the ones you performed. But I dislike remaining restricted to the same limitations for too long. How did you acquire such gifts?" he'd say after all how would she know that the Fox had not always been in this form. Akkuma wondered if she'd acquired her gifts through genetics or if she'd gained them from the result of some other means. He thoroughly enjoyed learning about such things. One would perhaps think that he was bold for asking such questions around all those present. But in truth everyone seemed to have gone back to their night as if the presence of a Kitsune was nothing unusual. After all why would it compared to some of the beings who gave them patronage the Kitsune was not the unlikeliest of beings.

“Please, just Totoro is fine.” He could never understand why humans use such honorifics. Totoro was curious as to where she was leading him agree to follow. Only enough she take him to a wall for some reason. When the wall opens up he immediately jumps backwards and takes a fighting stance. Seeing how there was no threat he then returns his previously calm demeanor. “You didn’t see anything.” He says as he enters the elevator a little embarrassed from his little scare back there.

When Kira tells him that she had no partner because none would take her, he was puzzled as to the reason why. “I find that hard to believe.” Looking at the girl her most notable outlier from the normal was her mismatched eyes. This did not matter to him in the slightest because he was the same way. His one eye was blue and the other was yellow. He could detect a slight demonic scent emanating from her, but again he felt no bother from it. He was use to such scent for his master was the same way. Now that he thinks about it was the demonic taint that cause Akazukin’s one eye to change, “Your scent reminds me of my master. I guess there are those that would find it disconcerting, but I find it quite comforting.” Totoro rubs up against Kira all friendly like in an attempt to cheer her up. “Speaking of which, I wonder how she is doing right now. The poor thing hasn’t slept in days."

Akazukin does a double take as she was more than a little surprised that the chips she gave back was being returned to her. “Interesting.” This owner, Akkuma, was willing to let her cheating slide? Well she was not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, so she takes back the chips without question. With the owner willing to look past her cheating, she decides to go back to the roulette wheel. This time however she was not going for chump change but big money. Using her special eye she was placing large bet on specific numbers, which yield the maximum return. Patrons probably thought she was mad to do something like this, but as she has showed before she is always willing to return back to the house if need be.

A man then speaks to her and from his appears and how people reacted to him, she would assume this was the owner. “It is a blessing and a curse I assure you.” The abilities which she possesses she is quite grateful for, but the nightmares that come with it was less to be desired. “I returned the money because I viewed the risk as too great.” She feared of what punishment might await her is what the truth of the manner was. “Besides I do this under the name of training. Like a sword a skill can dull if not sharpened.” Then the fox says something that makes her panic. When he said he could replicate such feats she feared that he might be related to the fox she met so long ago. Without hesitation Akazukin then casts her highest level jutsu she possessed. It was an S-rank jutsu called Avatar of the Divine and the title matched its power. Akazukin changes before his eyes and this was no visual illusion. Her hair goes completely white, her skin becomes deathly pale, her one clock eye was now two and her clothes change into a kimono. However the most unnerving thing about her was likely the giant ethereal clock that floated above her.

It was not till after her transformation she notices her misunderstanding and returns back to normal. The patrons around stared likely out of fear. “Sorry, I’ve been a little over stressed lately.” That transformation should at least tell Akkuma that this was no implant for what implant would give her that power. Akazukin gives a deep breath. “That information you inquire is privileged.” Akazukin clear her throught before giving Akkuma an offer. “I am willing to tell you however for a price.” Considering Akkuma owns a casino he could pay any amount of money, but that is not what she would be interested in. “I desire a room with a queen size bed for the entire night. I would like both a man and a woman to accompany me. It goes without say that I am not to be disturbed during my time in there. If you agree to my terms I will tell you all about how I got my powers after services rendered.” If Akkuma does not accept the deal she will agree to pay for such services, but she hopes she could somehow get this for free.

Kira smiled as Totoro told her it was fine to just use his name, giving a small nod & clap of her hands in acknowledgement before proceeding to unlock the wall. When Totoro jumped back in a prepared fighting stance she stifled a giggle. "I don't know what you're talking about." she'd say with a friendly smile before stepping into the elevator. The young girl took comfort in the wolves words giving him a deep bow. "Thank you Totoro..." she would say not used to outsiders being so kind to her. When he told Kira her scent reminded him of his Master she smiled. Maybe she was a demon like her as well! It was a conclusion that brought her much happiness as Totoro rubbed up against her. Causing the girl to blush from the act. She'd always desired her own companion & yet had never had the pleasure of such kinship.

At Totoro's words she would say "I'm sure Lady Akazukin is fine. Lord Akkuma would let no harm befall any of his patrons..." she hesitated for a brief moment before adding. "So long as they don't break the rules...but she's special no doubt my Lord will take an interest in her." it as a matter of fact statement as if Kira knew this to be true. Whether or not her words comforted Totoro she would have to see. Every time she saw her Lord she desired nothing more then to play with his fluffy tails. But she'd never been bold enough to try. Instead her hand moved through Totoro's fur & she tried not to die from the joy.

-Akkuma & Akazukin-

How curious she'd just been given the courtesy of keeping the winnings for her honesty & yet even now he could feel the tremor in time as she made another bet. When she stated her gifts were both a blessing & a curse he chuckled. "I know all too well the curse & blessing of Fate..." he would say with a chuckle her next words caused a thin sinister smile to spread across his lips & for the briefest moment his eyes revealed a bloodlust that would fill battle hardened shinobi with terror. Before that warm & friendly look once more filled those crimson orbs. "A wise move on your part I assure you." he would say matter of fact standing beside her noting her eyes as she continued her efforts. She justified her actions via the argument of training. He agreed any skill could fade with time if not appropriately used & practiced.

It seemed he had triggered something within the kunoichi as her body shifted before his very eyes. If he'd note seen it with his own eyes he wouldn't have believed it. While he was capable of altering someones genetics she was capable of altering her own on command. A feat that still yet escaped his capabilities. What he would do for some of her DNA he envisioned the projects he could complete with such subject material & his eyes were ablaze with delight. Her quick apology made the Kitsune fire that had begun to spark to life at his heels fade from view. "I understand it's quite fine..." he would say with a wide grin. Far too excited to come across a specimen such as her to let himself be offended by such brash actions.

His ears twitched with annoyance as she informed him that was privileged information. Causing him to sigh that was until she began to broker an agreement with the Trickster Fox. Raising a clawed hand to his chin he held it there in thought thinking on her terms. The delight on his face obvious for there was nothing he enjoyed more then making contracts. "...I accept your terms but would like to broker a second deal. I'll allow you to stay in our rooms, company provided for an indefinite period of time. On the condition you gift me with a vial of your blood for my research." the potential costs of such an offer were phenomenal & yet the Fox didn't even blink when he made the offer. As if such an action was a simple task for his resources. Truthfully it was his projects were varied & his investments vast. Whether she accepted or not he was sure he could acquire DNA from the room after she'd departed.

Akkuma Seems to find interest in Akazukin and rightfully so. Akazukin was happy to hear him accept her offer but gives a heavy sigh as he tries to bargain with her. Akazukin walks over to where blackjack was being played and she snatches the dealers face up card. Using the paper card as a knife, she slashes it across the palm of her hand and gives back the card to the dealer. Holding her hand out palm down, the blood drips onto the carpet floors. It was a shallow cut hardly enough to fill a vial for sure, but then something odd happens. Two droplets hit the ground, but the third drop of crimson suddenly stops in midair as if by magic and then it flies back into her hand. All blood spelt was returns back into her and her hand returns to normal as if nothing has ever happen. “Easier said than done.” It was not an outright refusal, but she also not going to accept the deal.

“In light of this I will tell you what you wish to know up front.” She had her doubts that he would believe her explanation. Even after seeing her divine form, most find her tell nothing but fantasy. False it may well be but it is what Akazukin believes to be the truth. “May I ask you a question? When a child is born, to whom does it belong to?” It was an unusual question with what seems to be a simple answer. Pretty much everybody would say that the child belongs to the parents. If he gave such an answer she would smile and shake her head. “They belong to the gods.” She could not help but wonder what type of faith this fox had if any. “Have you heard of the holiday Shichi-go-san?” It is a holiday to celebrate the growth and well-being of young children. “A long time ago it was very difficult for children to grow big, many died at the birth or an illness afterwards and not many babies did´t grow even to 3 years old. So people started believing that the little kids were actually not humans but sort of messengers from the gods, and until 7 years old, the gods can take them away from the parents at any moment. When the child reached 7, he or she had more possibility of growing bigger. So the parents took the child to local shrine and received ujiko-fuda which proclaimed children as complete human beings.” Akazukin pauses to let her words sink in or let a bout of laughter pass. Some people find such believes to be nothing but superstition and utter non-sense. “I died before turning seven and despite a traveling priest rescuing my soul, my conversion was already interrupted. I am stuck in this state between forms; nether a god nor a human. This is your cue to insult my beliefs or call me a liar. Everyone else does, which is why I often do not tell it.” If Akkuma does accept her she will hug the fox in a loving embrace.

“I wish to prove myself.”
Whether he accepted her or not wish will ask of this regardless. “You seem to have many under you employment. I require a Yamanaka, unless you are capable to possess a person like them.” She has heard of stories of demons of his kind having such powers. “I will show them just how my powers work and they can report back to you.”

After the Yamanaka would enter her mind, the hands of the clock within her eye spins sporadically. Suddenly she would find herself no longer in the Devil’s Lair anymore. Instead Akazukin was standing on a land mass floating in the air with an ever expansive desert beneath them. Normally Akazukin would appear within the structure but, she wanted to show the Yamanaka just where this place is. It was a breath taking view and so hard to bring visitors. Strange serpentine creature flew through the air and the sun hung in the sky in the same place that it always does when Akazukin comes here. On this floating island was a large structure that easily compares to the Devil’s Lair in size. Blue sand that seem to emanate with chakra flows down from a higher island like a waterfall. This mystical sand seems to empower the structure as the gears on the outside turn with its flow. “Akkuma’s place is impressive, but this is my home. Behold the Sands of Time in the Desert of Eternity.” Akazukin spoke in a very grandiose way in attempts to make it sound better than the place they came. “This is a place outside of normal time.”

Kira was quite enjoying Totoro’s company and he was finding enjoyment in hers as well. As her hands stroke through his thick fur he spoke once more pondering on her words, “Yes she is quite special and I am sure he would find interest in her.” Totoro moves in front of Kira and stands on his hind-legs. He places his front paws on her chest for support and he stares into her eyes. “I’m sure you will find me quite interesting as well.” His one eye changes going completely yellow and revealing an unusual mark. The symbol in his eye was almost like a curse seal and resembles a clock. Soon Kira would find the elevator a little cramped as there were now a Totoro on either side of her and behind her. Totoro was Akazukin’s pet after all. Akazukin’s power was not a doujutsu as many would believe but a divine realm. The Tokeigan is simply the key to the kingdom. Totoro's was not so grand, his was like a spare to the backdoor, but still gave him access to some of his master’s powers. “I am not accustomed to hunting alone.” All four of them spoke at once creating and echo effect. Totoro assumes the elevator was heading down to some sort of underground hunting grounds. “If you allow me, I shall become your pet for this moment in time.” Totoro could tell how lonely Kira was without a canine companion, he could only guess how thrilled to have her dreams come true even just for a little while. “Use your inuzuka powers and bond with me with a link of loyalty and I will serve as your hunting partner.” The Totoros would ask before the extra ones vanish, thus leaving only the one in front of her.
