Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The majority of the event went off without a hitch. The Council had chosen its agent well, after all. It generally fell to the Main Branch to cover matters of civilian assistance and issues of importance, and given Muji's rank, it made sense that he would be asked to protect a high-profile event. Apparently, some royalty had gotten married, and the reeception would take place in Sunagakure. Naturally, it would require no small measure of protection. Where simple armed guards and watchers would suffice for a common party or social gathering, this sort of thing tended to draw more...unpleasant party crashers.

From place to place, the Rikudo Sennin known as Onamuji made his way around the reception. At times, he walked inside with the guests, dressed in formal robes more befitting a traditional wedding rather than the loose sage's garb he would generally wear during standard operations. It helped that he was a low-profile individual, as he wouldn't be easily recognized as a shinobi of Sunagakure. Unless any invader happened to be a chakra sensor or have some sort of chakra sight, they wouldn't be able to tell he was anything more than a guest at the party.

The auburn-haired shinobi let his amethyst eyes scan the party constantly, watching not only the surface images sent to his brain from his eyes, but the chakra signatures his Rinnegan allowed him to monitor. Surprisingly enough, most of the party went off without a hitch. Introductions were made, everyone opened the alcohol, ate food, talked, danced, the couple thanked those attending for their gifts...pretty basic stuff. Suddenly, however, the lights went out. A few gasps of surprise and a hush fell over the gathering. Where other eyes went blind, Muji's lit up. Even without a light source, chakra signatures were bright enough for him to see.

Quickly, though without any panic, the sage scanned the room for anything out of place. For the most part, everyone was relatively frozen in place, afraid to move in the dark. A few guests shuffled, but there was no real sudden movements being made...

...until there was.

Registering in his vision as mere flickers at first, Onamuji quickly deduced that they were gate crashers rushing to sack the party. Three of them, with larger chakra signatures than your common Genin. Someone was pulling out the guns in order to loot the royal reception. With no more than a sigh, the sagely ninja emerged from the building in a flash to intercept them. He couldn't let them get in, after all...there would be too much room for collateral damage, and gods help him if the royal hosts were injured or killed. It would look badly on his record, and...he was somewhat of a perfectionist.

Merging with the shadows, Muji waited for the would-be bandits to come within range before unleashing the Ring of Fire jutsu. A rush of intense flames shot up in a ring around them, effectively halting the three in their tracks and lighting up the area enough for him to see them clearly. There were two men - one large, one not-quite-so-large - and a rather attractive woman with...immense assets. Assets or not, Muji was no drooling teenager, nor was he a fool to be distracted.

One man managed to get his arm burnt fairly badly by the flames before halting and leaping away. The other man and the woman managed to stop in time.

"You're underdressed for the party," Muji quipped, giving a cold stare as his jet black Chakra Disruption Blade emerged from beneath his sleeve.

Without a response, the larger man rushed forward in a rage. After about six paces, he lost his head with one fell swipe of Muji's blade. The rest of his body managed a few more steps before dropping with a disturbingly loud thud. The remaining two chose to be a little more tact in their approach and kept their distance. With a subtle nod to the his female counterpart, the remaining man performed some handseals and thrust his hands to the earth. The woman, on the other hand, rushed to flank Muji, throwing a handful of shuriken. Just as Muji moved to dodge them, earthen hands reached up from the ground below and grasped his legs to hold him in place. Only a quick twist and duck kept him from being slashed by the barrage of shuriken.

The woman, not wasting any time, continued her assault. Her unneccessarily shapely frame moving through the flame-lit space at full speed toward the bound sage. Though he feigned to struggle against the earthen jutsu that held him in place, it was merely a front to mask the one-handed seal he was completing away from view. By the time she got close enough to see the ball of light forming in his hand, it was too late. The sound of a thousand chirping birds cut the air as her body impacted against the lightning blade of Onamuji's Chidori jutsu. The current ravaged her, and she dropped to the ground, dead.

With two down, his amethyst eyes turned with intent toward the sole remaining attacker. Lifting his arms and releasing the binding jutsu, the jutsu-user attempted to channel a water jutsu, forcing the tunnel of water toward the auburn-haired sage, he put all he had into the technique. Muji, not wasting any time, performed handseals of his own. A dragon-shaped jet of flame rushed forth, colliding with the water. Soon, his flames proved too much for even the weaker man's water jutsu to quench. It rushed through the tunnel of water, colliding with a burst against the man's body and knocking him back into the ring of fire that surrounded the makeshift field of battle. For a time, he lay there - dead and aflame. Muji, in his mercy, let loose a water jutsu to douse the flames and spare the man a sudden funeral pyre.

"Onamuji, reporting," he called into his headset, "Three targets eliminated. Requesting body retrieval and cleanup. I'll situate the civilians and maintain the perimeter."

And with that, he moved back to the building, grasping an electrical transformer with lightning chakra balled in his hand. The lights and electricity returned with a whoosh, and a sense of relief washed over the small crowd.

"Everything's alright. It was just a sudden malfunction," he lied, bearing a pleasant smile, "Please, don't let a little electrical issue ruin the night. Let the festivities continue. This is a fateful day, and one your families should enjoy."

Though unsure at first, everyone gradually got back to their merriment. Once contact was made by the relief squad with the deceased targets, Muji wished the bride and groom a fond, yet simple, farewell and the best of luck. His job was complete, and the evening had come to an end. He would leave the party, and watch over the couple from afar to ensure nothing else was lying in wait until the two were back within the safety of their own lodgings.
