Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Yuudai Kaito quietly let him self into the office, setting a bag down at the desk. Pulling it open to reveal a man's head an a strange leather roll of tools, his voice wavered with embarrassed pride of youth as he announced himself "Student Yuudai Kaito, collecting the reward on Tanaka Kouki sir!"

As the old man sorted authorising the records the familiar over-excitement seemed to flow back into the young boy and finally, once the payment was handed over and the next in the queue had moved up, he ran outside. Everyone in the room could hear his shout of celebration. "YOSH!"

Ken entered the tower, fresh from a good night's sleep. He had spent all of the previous day, dusk 'till dawn, working to remove ticks from a wealthy family's manor. Now he was here to collect his reward. Ken smiled cheerily at the old man working on the desk. "Hello Mister... uh..." Ken struggled to place the man's name. In the few times he had been here it seemed he had never thought to ask. "Um, what is your name?" Regardless of the man's answer, Ken would turn in the completed mission and exit the building, giving the old man a friendly wave as he left.

Zashi sauntered into the camp carrying a black bag behind him: human shaped, human sized, and as he unzipped it, what a surprise. There was a woman in it, quite lovely save for the grotesque bullethole that went deep into her forehead. "Sayuri. Or uh, I guess some people call her the Black Widow. Whatever the case, she is quite dead." Zashi set down a stack of folders, this time with an autopsy report in addition to the usual bureaucratic mumbo jumbo he loved so much. Most of the papers were pink - I mean, pink for girls, blue for boys, right? That was usually the case. "Thanks again for your work, sir. Have a good one."

Zashi gave a small, but respectful, bow. Common courtesy is underrated. He left the office, but then took a few steps back to look at Sayuri's face. Something was... wrong. "Sorry, just thought I left something here..." And with one last wave, the boy left. Strange day.

Heads... Heads... and more heads. Oh and a dead body. The old man frowned, the deep lines on his face seemed more pronounced. That did not have to bring so much uh, deadness into this room. It was small, hot and stuffy. These remains would stink by the end of the day. He shoved the yen in the general direction of these blood-thirsty young men and wondered if there were going to be enough graves when they got through with the BINGO Book. Was it even possible to empty the book? He was not entirely sure, but at this rate he would soon find out. He kept his greeting and departures to a quick, curt hello and goodbye with the occasional muttered thank you. That is to all except the likely youngest and least bloodied shinobi hopeful to enter through his doors that day. He gave him one additional statement, a name. "Sunaku Tama"

Short and to the point. Monies given and BINGO entries being updated.

Kyo entered the tent, scanning his surroundings automatically and cataloging the interior. He approached the old man sitting by the desk, and nodded in greeting while keeping his face neutral. Though neutral for Kyo, probably looked like irritated to others. "Student Takenaka Kyo, completed the mission to supply Project Rebirth." He didn't waste his breath on unnecessary words, only saying the bare minimum to report in. The day had worn him out, and he didn't have the energy to even pretend to be polite so after that sentence he just stared at the old man.

As the day came to a close a familiar young boy wearing nothing but a white fundoshi stomped up to the desk.
"Yuudai Kaito, Academy Student reporting that.." His loud, confident voice trailed off suddenly. He blinked twice, slowly, then looked down at himself. Flushing bright red he threw his hands in front of himself so fast he nearly knocked himself over ad dashed out of the room. A few seconds passed and then he stuck his head back round the door and choked out "I, er, got rid of the ticks sir. Very sorry, didn't mean to.." He broke off and retreated at top speed with whatever dignity he had left.

Zashi stepped into the office, files under his arm and ashes dusting his sandals. He looked a bit more winded than usual; obviously, he had finished a mission recently. He approached the desk and placed a pile of papers on it.

"Mission completed. Kojima Shiba is dead. The autopsy report enclosed should be evidence of his departure from the world of the living." Zashi snapped his fingers, pointing at the man. "Uh, Ai is fine too, by the way. He didn't even get a shot at her." Zashi gave the man a thumbs up. In reality, AI was a little less than fine. Shiba hadn't harmed her, of course, but seeing a man have his head burned off couldn't be a pleasant sight. She understood, though, the gruesomeness that often comes with being a shinobi. He didn't have to explain that to her. The less scum off the streets, the better. The means were inconsequential when the end came into view.

"A lot of folks turning in missions nowadays, huh? Y'know, you oughtta ask for more pay. Take it easy, sir." Zashi gave a quick bow and exited the room, already planning his next mission. Chasing down those twins could be fun, he'd probably pursue that if nobody else wanted to. Of course, this next mission would have to wait. That last little scuffle got him into the mindset he needed. He had heard of a shortcut to power, recently, and he wondered how hard it would be to delve into.

The first young man was in and out. It was a clean interaction that involved the passage of yen from one hand to another.

The second was not so fortunate.

"AH! MY EYES!" The old man cried as he knocked his inkwell onto the floor. He had just gotten en eyeful of one of the students, his only condolence was the fact that his granddaughter was not in the room. she was about his age and he already knew that she was going to be a problem when boys noticed her or rather she noticed them back. This kind of attire was not going to slow down the process. Another job well down, why the boy had to strip to perform the mission was beyond him but at the very least. Was this kid going to need to have a recurrent BINGO Book page for his frequent streaking issue? He hoped not, far too many young men in this city have gotten more than an eyeful as it was from her. He did not need a young man turning the girls into deviants.

"Here, take it!" The old man exclaimed as he wadded up a handful of yen and tossed it at the door. He tried to aim for the boys midsection with an underhanded through. If he boy missed and bent over in that fundoshi, the hall was going to get an eye-full.

Next came the killer kid, that was what the old man called this Genin in his mind. It seemed like every other week the boy had another head to add to the old man's ever-growing collection that was being promptly shipped off to the Omni Prime Medical Center for research or disposal - he really had no idea what they did only that they did it and that was good enough for him. He let out a sigh of relief as it was only papers planted on his desk rather than gruesome remains. The old man pushed his spectacles to the bridge of his nose and skimmed the findings. "Yes, wonderful," he replied as he stacked the papers neatly in front of him and placed a single paperclip in the corner. You are going to be a rich young man and the city will be without villains soon," the older man commented with a hint of seriousness in his voice. The kid was a machine.

The adorable red-headed girl entered the building with her hands bound behind her back, followed closely by her young captor. Ken led the girl up to the desk, waving at the old man as he approached. "How's it going, Tama?" the boy called out cheerfully. "I've got a bountyhead here for you. Ama Yuki: caught in the act of robbery, assault, and impersonating a Sunan shinobi." The bound girl looked at Ken angrily but stayed silent, resigned to her fate. "Uh, be careful with her hands," Ken added, "They make explosives. And I'm pretty sure they bite, too." The boy would hand over the prisoner and accept his payment. Afterwards he make his way out of the building, happy to be rid of the burden.

Ken was back, this time holding a basketfull of freshly picked herbs in one hand and carrying a dead cave crawler over his shoulder with the other. The boy placed the basket on the counter, ignoring the strange looks he got from the random passersby in the building. "Hello again." he stated, nodding politely to the old man at the counter. "This time I've got some medicinal herbs. The medics put a request in." Once the paperwork was in order, the boy would adjust the giant bug on his shoulder and stroll out of the building.

Weeds and pretty tied up girls. It was a good day to be an old man in an office. He paid out the boy's stipend and carried on with his day's paperwork. He nodded to the girl to take a seat while they waited for an ANBU to take her away. It was unfortunate that the charges against her would likely not stick and she would be back at this once again in 'no time.' Maybe next time they would put a kill bounty on her head and be done with it. Just hopefully the boy who caught her would make sure they brought their proof in a water-tight container. He was still getting blood stains out of his carpet over the last delivery of heads.

Yuudai Kaito entered the room, roughly dragging along a prisoner held tight in an arm lock. The prisoner seemed to be a forty year old man with a wound on his back that had been wrapped in an improvised bandage. When it was his turn to be dealt with Kaito pinned the man to the floor in front of the desk.
"Yuudai Kaito with live capture sir. It's deserter Abrume Shiego from the BINGO book!" He grinned in satisfaction, giving a subtle grind of his heel on the man's back. A look of realisation came over him a second later and he shrugged bashfully.
"Err, where'd do prisioner's go? I've not done anything with live capture before..."
He would follow any instructions given as quickly and efficently as possible, collect his money and go outside to celebrate.

[BINGO: A Rank Sunaku Gosu Completed]

[A Rank Weekly Mission - 6000 Yen (Double Word Count)]

It was a long walk back home but Tama didn’t want to risk questions as to why he was carrying a large, human shaped, bag over his shoulder or why his clothes looked like he just got into it with a Sandwyrm but didn’t have a single visible injury or scar. Inside was the mark he was given to capture but he didn’t get to do it alive. He would have really liked to kept him alive so that he could start fishing through that mind for anything he knew about Forbidden Jutsu but...there was only so much you could do with a hole in the chest. Plus with the major amount of injuries Gosu inflicted he had to completely absorb the guy’s soul to heal everything and return the youth he spent activating the Death Mask Breath technique.

As he stepped into the office, warily mind you since in his head him and Sousuke were probably mortal enemies of some sort, he walked up to the desk and slung the bag from off his shoulder and onto the wood,
Brought you some dude jerky,” Tama said as he dragged the zipper down to reveal the mummified face of Sunaku Gosu, “Just have them send the Yen to my house. I’ll need it to go ahead and pay this month’s rent at the apartment since I’m just there on good faith at the moment...

He spun on his heel and nearly sprinted out before the receptionist could ask too many questions. His chest felt heavy being so close to the Kazekage for reasons he couldn’t truly explain.

The old man preferred live ones, they were less messy and smelled (usually) better by a fair margin. When the ne'er do well stumbled into the room the old man did have to shake his head. It was a rather unsafe call to try to bring in a prisoner without proper restraints. What if he got loose? Then all his hard work capturing him would be for naught.

"Yuudai Kaito with live capture sir. It's deserter Abrume Shiego from the BINGO book!"

Who was that again? Ah yes, that deserter youth all grown up. The mission master was a much younger man when Shiego had gone missing, a Chuunin himself even. He assumed the boy or rather now man had long ago died considering he went missing during the early days of the maelstrom. Suppose they were right, he was a defector. Pity really, soon enough he was going to wish that he was dead more than likely. Sunagakure has taken on a much harsher climate than it had in the days of old. Even good men had grown brutal in these past hard days.

"Err, where'd do prisioner's go? I've not done anything with live capture before..."

The old man pulled a pair of shackles out from his drawer and tossed them at the defector's feet. "Restrain him and I will take it from here," the old man announced. "In fact, do you have any idea how to effectively restrain someone with shinobi training?" The old man asked, it was not meant to be a rude question although it could certainly be taken that way. The boy looked young and brash but often they do not act or think with their head. "Cuff his arms behind his back and lock the wrist cuffs together so that his wrists are linked and he cannot make proper handseals easily." It would not account for those skilled in single hand hand-seals but it still limited the repertoire of the prisoner until an ANBU came. "I'll summon an ANBU to escort him to the Obsidian."

The boy was quick and dutiful if nothing else. Payment was rendered and all was right for Kaito.

Soon after, an older man who actually made the mission master look youthful entered with an oddly shaped package over his shoulder. The old man's stomach sank, it was easy enough to guess what was inside the body-shaped bag. With a thud the package was relinquished onto the desk that would require yet again another bleaching.

“Brought you some dude jerky.”

The old man's wrinked face contorted as the zipper was pulled down to reveal the terrified and petrified face of a one Sunaku Gosu. He could barely recognize the man's features at this point, most of the soft-tissue references had sunken in and wasted away. How long had this man been dead? He had not been wanted long enough to render this level of change. "Uhh... thanks?"

“Just have them send the Yen to my house. I’ll need it to go ahead and pay this month’s rent at the apartment since I’m just there on good faith at the moment...”

Before the old man could pass him his payment the older man in dilapidated garments simply walked away. Money to be sent to... somewhere. Sigh, it was hard work making sure unstable shinobis get their pay.

@ Tama: C'mon, where are those evil plans and threads. I have been waiting for them!

Ayame opened the door to the Kazekage Tower still holding Nanjiro in her jutsu but she could feel her stamina starting to weaken. She was relieved when she saw the old man still sitting at the desk. "Student Yamamoto Ayame here to turn in Nanjiro Date wanted for murder and theft." She stated as she dragged the reluctant Date towards the desk. She realized a little too late that perhaps she shouldn't have mentioned her name in front of him given his earlier threat. "Ah, here is his blade, Heaven's Light. Please make sure it gets to where it needs to go." She placed the katana on the desk on front of the old man. After getting instructions from him, she turned in her prisoner, collected her money and left.

Money Paid.

The blade was relinquished. Perhaps a hair too soon, the elder relinquished his payment to the young woman. He would have asked her about the blade: if it was indeed the weapon the thought it was. With a hushed awe he touched the weapon, he could hear it whisper. Hear it scream. He withdrew his touch, yes it was indeed the nanjiro blade. He eyed the young man who killed to possess that same weapon and shook his head. It is never worth it young man. He summoned an ANBU guard and the murderous boy was taken away in irons.

Kagari's final step in completing the mission was to turn Saburou into the authorities. After practically dragging the renowned pimp to the kazekage tower, Kagari was finally able to rid himself of the man. He gestured for the guards in the building to keep watch over the man while Kagari turned in the mission. He walked toward the front desk and got the attention of the old man behind the counter. "Excuse me; I'm Kagari Toshiwakai; Genin. I'm here to turn in the bounty for Haku Saburou." Kagari pointed towards the restrained man, as he looked quite displeased being paraded by a teenage genin. "Also, the first objective has been met, and Yoshiwara won't exactly be in business for a long time." Kagari scratched the back of his head, laughing lamely at his joke. He knew full well that he may have caused some collateral damage, but they did want the place destroyed. "I also have a log book I picked up that contains customers that link his brothel to them, but it's filled with fake names and aliases. Hopefully, someone can figure out who these names belong to." Kagari handed the book to the old man. "Also, Councilman Toru Yakashima was a big sponsor of the place; Saburou admitted that the councilman donated funds allocated by the Kazekage to spend on his establishment."

"I leave Saburou in your hands." With that, Kagari bowed and took his money. He left the tower smiling. He was at least able to stop Saburou for a couple of months from being in business, hopefully dropping sex crimes in the red light district as one of it's biggest lords was arrested.

OC: I wish I could pay you more, you put a lot of work into your mission. Hurry up and rank-up (gentle reminder) because I would like to see you compensated better for your efforts. Also, feel free to enter threads with us oldies. We DO bite, but most people like that. In fact, if you read this post I am making a RP request for a private mission follow-up for this thread if you would like to take it considering the care you placed in this mission.

IC:

The old man with his icy stare watched as a young man, too young considering who he apprehended entered the small, overfilled office space. The room had become a haven for remains and implements discarded by the young men and women that had been dropped off here. Some, the contents of their pockets and in other cases the broken and fragmented links from the chains of manacles that once bound but the captive broke free. The guards had called ahead to announce who was just placed in their custody alongside a description of the nondescript in glasses that strode to his office.

"Excuse me; I'm Kagari Toshiwakai; Genin. I'm here to turn in the bounty for Haku Saburou."

The old man was impressed, once could tell because the deep creases about his eyes and forehead became shallow as his brow raised and pulled with it the loose flesh that plagued his aging carapace. The infamous flesh-peddler shuffled in behind the young Genin, a sour face suggested his disposition. The old man shook his head. "Impressive," the old man commented.

"Also, the first objective has been met, and Yoshiwara won't exactly be in business for a long time."

That was a detail the old man did not want to know. Collateral damage and responsibility meant paperwork... a lot of paperwork. He sighed, which would mean more than his fair share of typing followed up by more than his fair share of listening to Sousuke gripe about the paperwork he had requested of him. It was a cyclical process of torment and complaint. "I will have a neutral party assess for damages this evening," he replied as his mind wandered through a list of potential Genin and Students who might want an easy buck.

"I also have a log book I picked up that contains customers that link his brothel to them, but it's filled with fake names and aliases. Hopefully, someone can figure out who these names belong to."

The boy offered and passed a well-worn book to the old man. Plagued with curiosity the elder opened the book and read the chicken-scratched list of names. Some newer than others judging by the fading ink. "Hmmm..." he pondered out-loud. "A cryptogram," he commented. The names were not fake, rather they were simply hidden behind other words. "An anagram to be more specific," he concluded. Most of the names seemed to be nothing more than gibberish. That is, all but one. But no, it could not be. That would be impossible and it made no sense for her to be written in those pages. He did not say anything but from the look on his face he saw something troublesome indeed.

"Also, Councilman Toru Yakashima was a big sponsor of the place; Saburou admitted that the councilman donated funds allocated by the Kazekage to spend on his establishment."

The boy's words pulled him from his thoughts. "Yes... uh... of course," his wandering mind still not entirely present. He waved his hand and invited the young man to sit down. "I-I... think you should avoid mentioning Councilman Toru for now." He looked up at the effeminate criminal with disdain. "Would you be willing to accompany the ANBU in his interrogation?" He asked Kagari quietly. This was something he was going to need to keep small. Something that he would need to limit leaks on so the fewer the better. "For now, I will be keeping him in the BINGO Books. I would like to limit notice of his capture for now."

Mission Offer: Assist in Haku Saburou's interrogation. This will be a group mission where you will participate with an ANBU in the interrogation of this NPC. Your choice if you would like to accept this. The reward will be in accordance to your OC rank and the site-wiode mission requirements and restrictions for a group mission. Do you accept? If so, I will be requesting an ANBU for you.

After discussing all the objectives and minor details relating the mission, Kagari was ready to leave to get some rest. He could feel the exhaustion weighing his body down. He was able to stay slightly awake though due to the feeling of accomplishment. Before Kagari could promptly leave, the old man had more to say regarding the mission.

The boy's words pulled him from his thoughts. "Yes... uh... of course," his wandering mind still not entirely present. He waved his hand and invited the young man to sit down. "I-I... think you should avoid mentioning Councilman Toru for now."

Kagari sighed, he nodded at the old man's request. He didn't like the idea of giving the councilman a free pass, considering all that he did. Hopefully, someone else would go after him, or Toru will be intimidated enough to confess all his wrongdoings. Although the next words surprised Kagari and seemed to wash away all the disappointment in an instant.

"Would you be willing to accompany the ANBU in his interrogation?" He asked Kagari quietly. "For now, I will be keeping him in the BINGO Books. I would like to limit notice of his capture for now."

Kagari was stunned, this wasn't something normal you'd offer a genin to do. Not to mention Kagari was excited at the idea of watching an ANBU at work, Saburou wouldn't maintain his calm composure for long once the interrogation started. Kagari regained his focus; this wasn't something he was going to miss. "Yes, I'll help out." Once Kagari received his payment from the mission, he waited in the office room for the ANBU that was to accompany Saburo and himself.
