Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Ziren stood by Soku. They just got out of the Hokage office from having a talk with the newest Hokage, Takeshi. And frankly, it didn't go well. He knew the reason for why they were both here. Ziren's evil brother wants him dead for reasons still unknown to him. Soku. Well she has a psychotic scientist wanting to experiment on her.

The reason why they were both in this predicament was that they both have failed to bring information into their higher ups, when it came to people wanting to kill them. Ziren learned his mistake from before.

He knocked three times, loudly, waiting for some sort of response to come back. Ziren looked at Soku. "It's going to be okay. Just stay calm and explain yourself with all the information that you have on this crazy scientist. I'll also explain the information I have on my brother."

It was a game plan. If one had a good game plan before a sticky situation, then they will be alright. Right? He just hoped that it doesn't fall through. The waiting for the ANBU Sennin to answer was making Ziren nervous. He held the letter to Maki from the Hokage himself. He didn't know exactly what it said. He knows that this isn't addressed to him, so he held it. He will need to give it to the ANBU Sennin when they enter.

(Requesting Soku and ANBU Sennin, Maki)

She nodded in response to Zirens reassuring words. The door of the ANBU Sennin loomed out at them as the Chigokai gave three short raps, the sound echoing down the corridor. A bunch of excuses were flowing through her mind but none of them seemed good enough. Perhaps it was simply better to man up and tell the truth. They were already in a bad situation and Maki was one shinobi you simply did not get on the wrong side of . It was simply not done, out of the question.

Still no anwser, Soku decided to knock once and spoke identifying themselves and their purpose."Chigokai Ziren and Santaru Soku of the ANBU branch sent here by the Hokage concerning some issues we have in this letter here."She said her voice sort of shaking as she spoke. Once that door opened, they'd be stepping into a new kind of hell, a dark hell.

Breathing in and out, the duo watched and waited for a reply. Perhaps the Sennin had already been informed by Takeshi and was making them wait while trying to contemplate how to best torture them or maybe just to test their patience. Asuka had simply stormed off from Takeshi, not a wise move on her part. The Leaf logo was engraved on the door and a plaque beneath it announcing whom this office belonged to.

"He can't be worse than Takeshi, can he?"She said glancing at Ziren hoping she was right. Takeshi was bad enough but Maki? That was a different story all together. You could smell the dark aura off him a mile away. He even put Maru to shame. It was time to face the judgement and deliver the verdict.

There was a knock, which was expected. Normally Maki wouldn’t be here, his office being his old one in the Foundry, but Takeshi had explained he would be needed here and so when the knock sounded, there he was. ”Come in.” Once the door was opened, the two AiT would see their newest Sennin sitting at a desk with a knife in hand, cutting slices off an apple and eating them while he sat in a chair with his feet kicked up on the desk, one foot tapping out a soft rhythm as he waited.

As they came in, his feet would fall to the floor and he’d upend the knife, smacking it into the desk only hard enough to make sure it stayed there before rising, waving his hand and the apple seeming to simply vanish from it as he stood. He was, most likely, a bit imposing. He wasn’t the tallest of people, but his blood red samurai armor made him stand out, and the sheathed blades at his side were a hint of the deadliness he held within him.

”So. One at a time. Explain.” Takeshi had given him info, he wanted to see what they would divulge of their own, however.

Ziren has had his fair share of running into intimidating shinobi, from his new ANBU leader, which is a captain, to his brother, to Yukio, to Takeshi. Shivers were sent down his spine. Takeshi was by far the most intimidating shinobi Ziren has ever met. That is, until he met Maki. He beat the new Hokage like it was nothing. He was surely not someone that you would want to anger.

It felt weird though, that Ziren now feels like Maki is very intimidating. He has only met him a small few times, and he never really got that kind of feeling from him, until that battle. Until now. To add even more to it, this was the first guy that Ziren has met outside of the academy, who, said that Ziren's "cursed" bloodline was Chigokai. Way before he even knew that he was a Chigokai, or what that was. Right now, he has a lot of questions, but knows that this isn't the time or place to ask about the past so long ago.

He wore the same red samurai armor as he did back then. He then asked them both to explain themselves.

Ziren handed Maki the letter that the Hokage has given him to give to Maki.
Maki,

I have sent Ziren and Soku to you as they have caused issues inside of the village that have come to my attention, the following details are given on the matter:

"Lord Hokage. If I may. My brother seems mainly focused on me. I will do whatever is required of me to help protect the Village. I want to train myself beyond my own capabilities so that I can protect the Village." Spoken by the words of Ziren

"He was a family friend of my fathers. His name is Moro Ibumo and he is a scientist who basically is trying to create the ultimate "super shinobi " using humans as test subjects. His last victim was my mother and his next one is well....me" Spoken by the words of Soku

I do not want these issues to persist, deal with them as you wish but their conduct has laid a frown upon the ANBU Branch as such they are now yours to discipline or come to outcome. I request that you are lenient as this is a first time issue, and would like you to look into these matters and get a desirable outcome.

Sincerely.
Takeshi

Ziren took a breath, and looked at his new superior. "So. I have a brother. Who wants me dead for unknown reasons. And I'm not afraid for myself. But moreso afraid of what he will do, whatever it will takes for him to kill me. And if he hurts anyone in this village, I won't be able to live with myself. I've found myself isolated on some occasions by him. Other times I've been saved by someone stepping in. I... I want to get stronger, and protect the Village. I thought I could do it alone. Handle this problem by myself, but I was wrong."

He stopped talking, thinking if he had covered everything that needed to be said from him.

A voice spoke indicating they were to enter. Taking a deep breath and with a firm resolve, Soku walked into the room and took in what was before her. Maki had his feet up on the desk casually slicing peels off a apple. Upon their arrival, he swung his feet off and the knife was now quivering embedded in the table. Already, she could feel a sweat breaking out as she took in the crimson samurai armor he had on and the lengthy black hair."The Hokage sent us to see you because of our actions as explained in the letter."She said motioning to the letter which Ziren held in his grasp.

It was her turn to speak and she looked past the Sennin, unable to meet his piercing gaze secretly wishing she was back in that office with Yukio and Takeshi."My side of the story is this. I have been targeted by a notorious man known for his hobby in human experimentation. His name is Moro Ibumo and he seeks to use me as the next victim to create the ultimate "supershinobi". He already killed my mother through this procedure and was in collaboration with my father. I didn't report this to any of the higher-ups which is why I stand here before you."

She had spoken nothing but the truth, the plain old honest truth. This was not a man whom you played games with. He even put Maru to shame, forget about Takeshi. Her eyes were intently focused on a spot in the room behind the ANBU still not confident in meeting his gaze. She shuffled her feet a bit to get her blood flowing. She'd been still as a rat, paralyzed out of fear. Soku really hoped whatever he had in store for them, it didn't involve the Academy. The girl was mature enough, respected her superiors or at least that's what she'd thought. It seemed on this day however, the superiors thought differently.

Maki takes the note to read it. As he does so, Ziren begins to speak about his brother. As Ziren admits he can’t go it alone Maki sets the note down and looks at Soku, who goes on about the man trying to get her for a super soldier type project. Those never worked out well, when would people learn that forcing power onto someone against their will meant if it succeeded they would use that power on you? Apparently never. The Sennin grabs the knife and pulls up his hand, flicking it just so for the apple to reappear in his grasp. HE begins to eat from it at he thinks for a moment.

”Top drawer of the cabinet behind you is some paper and pens and pencils. I want full information on these people. I want names, appearances, age, last known location, who trained them, how well they can fight, everything. If they passed gas and you knew about it, I want it. I meant it when I said everything.” He rises, the knife and apple vanishing out of his hands with a flick. ”I also want you, Soku, to tell me just why you haven’t reported this. Ziren has an excuse, not a good one but it does exist.”

He waits for them to get to it, chewing on the last slice of apple and wondering how best to handle this one. Probably just go out, find these two assailants, and murder them. But that wouldn’t make his trainees better shinobi. IT would teach them he was a crutch they could lean on when they were too weak instead of teaching them to get stronger. Probably best not to do that, then.

Ziren didn't mind the little tricks of the eyes Maki is doing with the apple and the knife. But then he told them to take a full account of all the information they have on those who want them dead.

He grabbed a piece of paper and a pen from the top drawer of the cabinet behind them. He wrote of all he had on his brother. The very first time they met, Jirosho was robbing a bank, that, Ziren thankfully stopped. He put down that Jirosho looked like an older version of Ziren. His eyes, permanent bloodified like Ziren's, but the blood in the eyes are not swirling. He usually wore cloaks and whatnot. Jirosho's personality is kind of like that of a showman. A true actor to fool others. The next time they met, he struck towards Ziren's new cousin, Wukong, whom he saved by jumping in the way of Jirosho's weapon. That was when he learned that Jirosho was 25, and was 7 when he ordered a mercenary to kill their parents back in Cloud. Ziren was just born when that happened.

After that, Ziren met his brother yet again, but this time, it was at the Forest of Death. Yukio saved him that time. A few days later, again at the Forest of Death. He learned that Jirosho has lightning style, along with water. So it was safe to assume that he might have storm and blood styles as well. He also learned when he was with Yukio, that Jirosho became a well known criminal back in the Cloud, until they had to put him in the bingo book, since he managed to rally all other criminals and gangs there. So he had to get out. Somewhere in time, Jirosho found out about Ziren. And how he lived in Leaf. He now is around Leaf, somewhere, he made alliances with some criminals and gangs. All to try and kill Ziren. Another time, Jirosho was escorting Ziren around, when Soku helped Ziren get away from Jirosho. His brother claims that he wants Ziren to become even stronger than ever before, only to kill him at his strongest. Reasons still unknown.

And as far as he knows, that was it. He was about to give the paper over when he remembered about Soku. He couldn't just leave her to fend for herself. He looked at her, hoping that she has a very good memory of everything that has happened since this whole series of events first started.

Pen and paper in hand, the girl began to write, appearances, history, birthdays, crimes, everything. Unfortunately for Soku however, this dilemma didn't end there. The Sennin put her on the spot inquiring as to what had stopped her from reporting such a major issue. Slowly, she put the pen down and shifted her gaze to meet Maki ' s, something which for her p, was not a easy feat."My excuse is that I have no excuse. I thought I could handle it on my own without help but I was wrong it seemed. The truth is , I neglected to tell anyone because I didn't want anyone else to get hurt as a result of my reporting this. He already poisoned Uchiha Asuka, a Academy student, there's no telling what else he is capable of."

She glanced down at the sheet reviewing over the words she'd jotted down. They were brimming with detail. For good measure, Soku dug into her pocket and out came a series of lab reports she'd acquired from Crater City."This is the man we are dealing with. This is the type of things he does."The reports all contained one key point, this mad scientist would go to any extent to fulfill his goal. One lab analysis sheet even went into detail how he had carved open a man's leg and inserted maggots into the flesh just to experiment with him a bit. She bundled it together with the paper she'd been writing on and motioned to the stack."This is a second by second life analysis of his endeavors.
All in all, he is a sick rascal and he occasionally pops around the village here and there to see if he can cause any mischief or get his grabby hands on me. Thanks to Maru whom has been keeping an eye on me ,
he hasn't been successful yet."

”Well, hopefully you two learn your lesson here. Konoha’s here for its own. If either of you need help with these people, just let someone know. Takeshi, myself, any of the captains, hell I’m sure even the main branch or mednin people would like to assist Konoha shinobi in taking care of a threat. Even if they seem to be focused on you specifically, they’re still a threat to the village.”

Maki takes the paperwork and looks it over, mentally filing the information away. ”You both have my frequency, yes? Call me next you see them if they’re too much for you. For now, you’re dismissed. Report in the morning to the mess for breakfast duty, you're on it for a week. Don't hide stuff like this from the village again, unless you want someone to die and it be your fault.” It was a shit job, but that’s why it was punishment. They didn’t earn anywhere near the anger Maru had gotten, but their actions still could have caused harm to others because of their own hubris. The breakfast duty was the lightest punishment he could give short of just berating them.

Maki rises from his seat. ”Dismissed. You’re on free time until then.” With that said, he exits the office.

(Paperwork get! Soku and Ziren on breakfast duty for one IC week, dismissed for now :p)

Ziren nodded. At least he didn't give them a bad punishment. The way he sees it, this is more like community service, giving back to the community than taking out.

Though, he didn't want any help. He didn't want to feel like a burden that he already is to people. He has to get stronger. To get better at training and fighting.

He turned to Soku and nodded, not saying a word. He understood that he needed to at least inform Maki of anything that has been happening from now on. Even if he wants to do this alone, the least he could do is tell them anything he learns about Jirosho. Keep them updated.

With that, after Maki dismissed them along with giving them a final few words, Ziren opened the door and walked out.

Knowing full well not to argue with the Sennin, she held her tongue biting back the retort that sprang to her lips. Besides, breakfast duty couldnt be that bad, could it?"We definitely will, thank you." Nodding to the Sennin out of respect, Soku turnt and followed Ziren out allowing the door to swing shut behind them. 'Well, at least we are in this together. That's good, right?"She said talking to Ziren as they trod out of the mansion. She didnt know what breakfast duty consisted of but was willing to bet they were going to be given the most outright disgusting jobs the kitchen staff could come up with. Giving a little wave to Ziren, Soku went her way towards the Maple District and gave her fingers a snap and in a flash of thunder, the Santaru was gone leaving Ziren standing there.
