Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

One of the issues with being designated as a leader is that people presume that you have the answers to everything. Otherwise, why should they put their trust in you in the first place when they could make better decisions themselves?

Migoya noted Hisao’s complaints about providing him with little information. The truth, though Migoya would not admit it to those not within his clan, was that the Myakashi holdings here in Konoha were desperately thin, and that the most skillful amongst them were currently working in tandem. Most, like Grandmother Myakashi who was skillfully maintaining the mental link between them, were purposefully hidden away just in case either of these two dangerous shinobi decided to turn on the family. Migoya though did want both of these Gentlemen to see the truth and had uncharacteristically placed some of the Myakashi’s best in ‘protection’ duty over them. Not that they needed them.

Acknowledged Hisao-san. Thank you. Migoya returned… perplexed at the additional voice that apparently had come from Hisao. Probably another demon infused person… something that Migoya had not known about the aged shinobi, but would be put into the mental vault for use later. He watched as his agent and Hisao finished removing the seals and the girls started to leave, giving Hisao a smile and a nod of genuine thanks.

Doku too had been tasked with a, well, task and had completed it without death and destruction. Watching from a nearby vantage point (sneaky sneaky) Migoya nodded with a measure of amusement and admiration at Doku’s simple but effective actions at removing a barrier placed before him. Noted Doku. Gamma - Juuki - move in and remove the barrels now. Doku would notice as he started to move that one of the guards who had ‘run away scared’ and had initially prompted the conflict with the giant, gave him a wink and started to move towards the barrels. Migoya clearly had his fingers in many pies, and spies everywhere. Insurance Doku-san, he gave by way of explanation.

Sitting quietly as Yong dispatched not only the guards but set up a most marvellous opportunity for a Migoya-rant, the prone figure of the ‘leader’ of the Konoha Myakashi branch remaining kneeling as the spotlight shone down on him. Yong stood to the side, his blade impaled through the shoulder of one of the guests, two guards lay sprawled on the ground, and the others now stared at the black-robed form in terror as he stood.

Darkness now embraced the room like a velvet blanket, bestowing the chill of the void rather than a warm embrace. Everyone, even his allies, would feel the chill in the air as the very light of life it seemed was sucked from the building. Pale white hands would pull down a heavy black hood to reveal a shock of white hair above an equally pale face, framing two very bloody-crimson eyes that now looked angrily at the leader of the Jinkotsu.

A voice would emerge - not that of the normally dispassionate Migoya, but that of someone ruthless, dark, and absolutely in control. Bolstered by the masterful genjutsu arts of Yong, the figures surrounding the table would start to tremble with dread.

“Hanatai. For years now the fine balance between what is necessary and what is beneficial has been maintained, yet you would now break that balance for what? Profit? Has the Jinkotsu family gotten so desperate and greedy that it would act in such a reckless and traitorous fashion?”

Gliding forward as if moving in the shadows themselves, Migoya lifted onto the grand table, his eyes still focusing on the red-clad woman. For her part, Hanatai was trying to keep a stoic face, but the effects of Yong’s genjutsu and Migoya’s presence was clearly having an effect.

“Your actions threaten the people of the Land of Fire. No benefit, financial or otherwise, should come at the cost of the innocent. That was the old ways - old ways that were destroyed, and for good reason. Should you wish to bring them back, well, destruction has always been the Myakashi forte.”

His gaze now looked at the Government officials who were at various stages of terror ranging from silent awe to wetting themselves. It was at this time that Doku and Hisao would enter the room, darkness notwithstanding, to see Migoya standing over the red clad woman, surrounded by terrified onlookers, and Yong pinning a man to the wall with a sword.

“You have a choice now Ladies and Gentlemen. Maintain the status quo - continue to illicit your bribes, lie to your people, pretend you are oh-so-noble and benefit from their labours… and live in that disgrace. Or go along with Hanatai’s little plan. The choice is yours of course, though decisions do have consequences. And know that we are always watching.”

A few steps took him before the trembling figure of Hanatai, and he looked down at her with contempt.

“As for you… I remember a woman of passion, intelligence and wisdom. What has happened to her? Has your greed impacted your heart so much that you have changed the very nature of who you are? It is as if… hmm”.

A quizzical expression glazed over the albino’s face for a second before a rapid series of handseals started to be done, a bit slower than normal to those skilled in observation.

Before they were completed however an eruption of back flame ignited around Migoya, the dirty Uchiha that Yong had pinned against the wall had used his Sharingan to summon Amatseru on the albino in a moment of weakness. The flames seemed to blend and consume the shadows around Migoya, causing him to flail in silent but apparent pain.

Unfortunately though, those propelled flames also ignited the left-side of poor Yong, the undying flames scorching the valiant warrior.

Migoya fell to the ground, the flames rapidly eating him as if he was made of straw or wood.

The Uchiha, smirking at the destruction he had wrought, gleefully pushed the injured Yong off of him, accepting the pain that the wound brought him. The payment for the contract against Migoya would cover any medical expenses. The smirk disappeared as he saw the two form of Doku and Hisao, blocking his exit.

The figure of Migoya stopped moving, the robe burning away.

The Uchiha started to form handseals to compliment his next attack, one designed to cover the area in darkness, causing each of these men to possibly attack one another whilst he made his escape.

A cracking sound was heard, accentuated with the iron smell of blood, confusing the man. He looked around at the slumped figure of Yong who was trying desperately to put out the flames. He glanced at Hisao, the man’s Byakugan activated but looking at horror at Migoya and Yong in flames. Doku’s face hid more of his emotions, yet the ANBU would be worried at the new predicament. Migoya - well, he wasn’t moving.

Then he looked down.

A hole had appeared near to where Yong’s blade had been - a hole that was where his heart once was. Strangely he felt no pain as he turned back to look into deep, crimson eyes. A pale hand held a still-beating heart, its life-essence dripping down a bleached arm.

“One last thing.” Migoya said, his voice dripping with venom as he quickly watched Yong’s healing seal activate but not put out the black flames.

“Don’t fuck with my family.”

Black tendrils of pure shadow burst from Migoya’s body, piercing through the Uchiha’s. A second later an eruption of gore followed as his body was ripped apart.

Dressed as a begger but now covered in blood, Migoya stood as grandly as a King. Moving quickly he reached his nephews side, his blood-stained hand placed on his shoulder. Yong was fighting back, but the smell of burnt flesh was building, and if he wasnt treated soon… well.

“Brothers… please. I must tend to…,” there was a hint of concern in his voice. He turned back to his thoughts.

Myakashi. The threat is over thanks to your efforts. Make sure the officials and their parties are escorted safely home - with a reminder that tonights events stand as a warning. Place Hanatai into our custody… things are not as they seem. The barrels… put them somewhere safe. And someone will need to clean the floor here. Doku - Hisao. Please - I need your help with Yong. Thankyou Grandmother - please sever the link.

With those ‘thoughts’ Migoya summoned what appeared to be a globe of shadow which formed itself over Yong’s burning wounds. It would not remove the Amatseru, but it would at least stop it from spreading for now. The heart… well, that was placed in a pocket for later.

One of his arms now surrounded Yong as he lifted him up, placing him over his shoulder. Migoya would nod to the others and speedily run from the room. His family would ensure the safety of the girls, and there would be celebrations later, but for now there was something vital left to do.

He just hoped the others would understand that he, even immortal, powerful he, couldn't foresee all the outcomes, and right now a family member was in trouble. The annoyance of losing his favourite puppet aside, all things were now focused on one thing.

Yong.

Hisao needed time to process everything that just happened. His faith in the village had been shaken. Yong had been injured. Everything in his life was spiralling out of control. He just had to get out of here and take time to think. Nodding to Migoya and Doku, he rushed out of the building. ”I will catch up in a bit Migoya, I... I just need some time to gather myself.”

The scream never came.

His body reacted on instinct, vainly trying to put out the unnatural flames but only succeeding in spreading them to his hands. The acrid smell of his burning flesh filled his nostrils but the air never reached his lungs. The black flames burned through his oesophagus, scorching vocal cords. As scorched flesh began to peel from bone Yong thrashed the back of his head against the ground. He would beat himself into unconsciousness or death, both preferable to the current pain.

Well that didn't go to plan. Thought Doku to himself, alone with his own thoughts at last. He moved to follow the rest of the Myakashi as they moved Yong to a secure location to be healed. I have been given much to think about and consider but first we must care for Yong.
