Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Name: Nanjirou Ryuji
Age: Thirteen
Physical Description
Ryuji is not an individual of impressive height, destined to lag below average. His most obvious trait is his plump physique. In fact, many have the mind to assume he is a member of the Akimichi clan, but they would be understandably mistaken. He is of fair skin, perhaps slightly tanned and long, black, unkempt hair. His face generally displays an expression rather dismissive and apathetic. His casual manner of dress sports loose-fitting clothing - in fact, a knee-length red yukata with black stripes specifically. A black obi is tied around his waist while his wrists and shins sport black wristbands and protective shin bands respectively.

Mental Description
Generally, Ryuji is a rather laid-back individual who possesses a good heart. He defaults to an expression closer to a scowl than anything else, which marks him as someone with at least some degree of attitude. He could be considered a realist, looking upon others with a judging eye and concluding the actions of all are ultimately for their own benefit. It grants him what he feels is a good portion of insight and for a teenager, is a somewhat notable trait; perhaps slightly depressing, but he is often correct in his assumptions.

Ryuji can be sarcastic, but it is simply how his sense of humour manifests. It paints him as a cynical individual, moody and perhaps difficult to approach. He typically does not mean anything with his quips, likely lashing out subtly in protest of his presence generally being ignored, made light of, or made fun of crassly and, in his opinion, uncreatively.

History
Ryuji was a young child of rigid back, moving with each step hovering above eggshells and with, seemingly, eternal evocation of a sharp, but slightly anxious mental state. This was the result of an upbringing within the confines of a household steeped in tradition, discipline and, most important of all, expectation. It was a home belonging to a pair of shinobi, Nanjirou.

Husband and wife, with the birth of their one and only son, their attention was meticulously split between their work and raising a competent ninja who would live by the blade and, if it came to it, die by it as well. For this, they needed to craft a strict regimen and see to it that their son was raised with a persona plump with resolution, determination, and discipline. However, once the husband lost his wife due to their line of work, notoriously known for cutting lives short, everything changed.

Jiro, Ryuji’s stern and rigid rather, despite his belief in his preparation for such an event, had the entirety of his spirit crushed by his loss. He became one of shaky resolve, lethargic and so much so that his resignation from the Leaf Village’s front lines became inevitable. Expectedly and regardless of if his wife would have wanted it, the efforts placed towards Ryuji’s own training and preparation came to a sudden, sullen halt.

The whole of the situation ostensibly manifested physically upon Ryuji. Apathy was not only born within his father but was engendered within him as well. His favorite means of passing the time was eating, usually a combination of white rice and generous portions of meat. He grew with a germinating cynicism and judgmental eye, like his father, and gained extra weight in response to his newfound and greatly-enjoyed pastime. Jiro was content with his son. He rather him not enter the same line of work to suffer the same fate as his wife. He had grossly underestimated the asphyxiating anguish loss can present one with.

Bloodline
A scream – a gruff, loud holler. One day, it violently riled Ryuji awake from an uneventful night of, seemingly, dreamless sleep. He rose from his bed, upright and stiff as he looked around for its source. However, it was only himself who occupied his bedroom. Venturing out into the rest of the home to locate his father and inquire as to whether or not that was his doing, he was told that it was not him. In fact, Ryuji was told that it was likely the remnants of a dream. After that, Ryuji dismissed the mysterious shout.

By the time the boy retired for the night, he had forgotten all about it. However, with the arrival of the next day, no screaming, but a voice that called for him to wake. This was a disembodied voice and what Ryuji would come to know as a specific ancestor of the Nanjirou.

Ryuji’s by-chance sensitivity to, at the very least, this specific spirit’s influence allowed their words to carry true. This was fortunate for them. It greatly desired to express its discontent with his broken father and the purposeless route laying itself before Ryuji. It was this specific specter that would lend him the knowledge and skill of the blade learned through many generations of honing and, it appeared, it would not take no for an answer.

It would insistently badger Ryuji by speaking into his mind throughout the day. This is why Ryuji spontaneously expressed his interest in joining the academy. He did not ever speak of the voice that beleaguered him to do so. Perhaps his spiritless father would have tried to remedy the situation; but deep down, Ryuji did not want that. There was a part of him that suspected his mother’s wish would be just what it was when she was alive.

That coupled by some moving words of his phantasmal friend that reminded him of where his talents lay were the deciding factors. He possessed little talent for cooking, the patience for cleaning, the mind for business-- It appeared, as potentially dangerous as it was, his best option as a career. Approaching his father resulted in a small portion of surprise to rinse the boy through. It was as if it was expected to happen. Confirming Ryuji’s seriousness in taking up the sword and pursuing the path of one of Leaf’s ninja, he was enrolled in the academy and his father’s training continued with the purpose of reading him to wield an ancient blade of his own.

MISC: So, years ago, my sibling and I joined this site. We shared an internet connection, but since then we’ve moved to different places. Now, however, we’re in the same living space again, meaning we’re sharing the same connection… again. We’ve come full circle it seems. We can hop onto a discord server to prove it.
