Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Asuka had the picnic arm under her arm. Strolling through the village mumbling a happy tune. Today was going to be a good day. Even though the place seemed a little strange it served it's purpose. Rayne on the other hand, her identical twin, was in a happy mood for some reason. Quite the change from her usual gloomy demener.

"Oh mannnnn! I'm so excited." Asuka spoke out with a big smile on her face. "I like days like this y'know! Full of teaching and big clasess."

"Kind of a bummer you have to summon people to teach to so many." Rayne responded "Although I have to say, the forest of death is a nice touch for what you have planned."

"We have planned." Asuka smiled at her companion "Don't forget you also thought out quite the nasty parts." She laughed "In any case, it is a weird location for a class. But the tea and treats will make it worthwhile. The dangos were especially prepared for this ocacion."

Rayne sighed "Did you threaten the poor old cook again?"

Asuka shook her head "Not this time, he was actually quite excited when I asked him for a big order."

They both kept walking down the street and turned towards the direction of the forest. They had everything prepared. A mat for everyone to sit in, enough tea to feed a herd of elephants and the treats were calculated enough to feed the students but also turn them. With that being said she simply made her way deep into the forest. The students, if clever enough would be able to spot rocks being place along the trail that didn't exactly looked right.

If they followed them they would come across the two identical girls sitting in the middle of an opening, tea would be placed in a way that the students would be encouraged to sit and drink if they so wished. Different kinds of treats would be scattered about the place, Asuka would be eating from a dango stick since it was her favorite.

Now, to wait.

Kaito was returning back home after eating some dumplings with his friends, it was a rather dark night and it wasn't normal to return back this late or have dinner with friends since he mostly eats with his family, then play with his brother or show him his new jutsus and then go to bed but he sometimes sneaks by to their garden and tries new jutsus, His father saw him a couple of times but instead of telling his mother, he actually helped Kaito with his jutsus and taught him some taijutsu

I need to get home fast mother will kill me if I don't Kaito told himself while running towards his home, The lights are on I am in trouble He thought while sighing, why is Father running like crazy though, he shouldn’t be this worried and why is he at home this early he usually returns home late I must go and see what’s wrong. Kaito to thought while rushing to his home he opens the door his mother immediately looked at him, Not this look please mother He thought to himself knowing he will get beaten up, ”What did you do young man? where were you? And why are you this late?” Kaito’s mother yelled at him, ”Sorry mother, I was having dinner with Yayoi and Hitoshi” Said Kaito not knowing what his mother would do, ”Leave him to me, will you?” asked Kaito’s father, she looked at both of them and without saying a word she left them

Both Kaito and his father went to the garden to talk, the garden was the only place they met and talked in, ”Do you know someone by the name Uchiha Asuka?” Asked his father, Kaito looked surprised but before he could answer his father interrupted. ”You don't have to answer just be careful the forest of death is one of the worst places to go to, I didn't tell your mother so she doesn't interfere now go sleep you have a hard day tomorrow” Kaito’s father stood up, gave him the summons and left, Kaito only got what his father said now, Thanks father He thought while going to sleep

He woke up the next day early, got his equipment ready and ran to the forest of death without asking for his mother’s permission She wouldn't have accepted anyway plus father will tell her...somehow Kaito thought while on his way to the forest of death, it took a while but he manages to get there anyway, the door was open but before entering he waited for other students or Uchiha sensei to come, The rocks are in the same line hmmm strange maybe this is part of the training too? He asks himself while standing up and entering the forest, he followed the trail until finally, he arrived, he saw Two Uchiha sensei though so he got his kunai out, ”Who are you and where is Uchiha sensei?” He asked very confused

Tomiko had been buzzing with excitement ever since an unexpected letter had been delivered to the Akiyama Confectionery. Her parents were... less enthusiastic, but they had given their word to allow her to pursue the shinobi career path and didn't attempt to dissuade her or anything like that. All they really did was put extra emphasis on being careful and safe and doing the best she could, to which the young girl did her best to take to heart.

Which, admittedly, was hard! Practically all her life, kids her age had been spreading rumors about the forest of death. Even the adults often talked about it, sometimes even as a way to try and spook the kids. Now, she was actually going to get to not only see it up close, but to get to train inside of it! Yet, that wasn't even the part she was the most excited about. That part was who the letter had come from, and who would be actually teaching her and presumably other students: Uchiha Asuka!

Now, she couldn't say she actually-factually-for-sure knew all that much about the woman herself. She was easily one of the more common subjects of talk among the kids, though, and she would have to have lived under a rock to not recognize the Uchiha clan name. When she signed up for the academy, she had expected to just be taught by... Well, random retired shinobi and things like that.

Instead, it seemed like she was getting to meet and train under some really legendary ones and she had just barely started Academy!

All in all, Tomiko had a hard time getting an early nights rest the night before with all these thoughts and many others buzzing around in her head. Thankfully she didn't end up staying up the entire night, but as her alarm clock went off and she blearily slapped at it she certainly felt like another hour or two of sleep would have been nice. That grogginess only lasted momentarily, however, as she remembered exactly why that alarm clock had been set so early in the first place and was quick to hop out of bed and rush through her morning routine.

She even managed to set a record pace for herself, despite being a little tired: barely half an hour after waking up, Tomiko was fully dressed and prepared and out the door. As usual, her chosen outfit for training consisted of black shorts, running shoes, and a baggy blue gi tied around the waist by a yellow sash. Her hair was a tad hastily combed this morning, and her pigtails looked a touch frazzled, but she was still plenty presentable.

Shortly after heading off down the street, it struck her that it was entirely inappropriate for shinobi to go sprinting off like excited puppies. She needed to be calm and cool and conserve her energy for the training itself! So, doing her best to emulate a stoic demeanor and taking deep breaths to calm herself down, Tomiko made her way to the forest at a much more reasonable pace as she set about idly smoothing out her pigtails while she walked.

Thankfully she had thought to bring the summons letter with her, since it helped allow her to freely enter the forest without being stopped. Even more thankfully, her calmer approach and earlier promise to be extra careful had her paying even more attention to her surroundings once inside than she normally would have. Tomiko assuredly would have missed the out of place stones otherwise, and although she spent a few moments staring long and hard at them as she debated following them or not, she eventually decided it would be far stranger for them to simply be there as a coincidence.

Keeping her eyes peeled for any sign of her teacher or fellow students, she eventually came upon a sight she certainly hadn't expected and one that left her momentarily dumbfounded as she stepped into the clearing: a picnic. Even more surprising, she was presented with not one but seemingly two of who she assumed to be Uchiha Asuka sitting there waiting! Glancing between the two, internally wondering what amazing shinobi technique this was and if it was perhaps what they were going to learn today, she only noticed one of her fellow students with a sudden start after a few seconds had passed.

Standing right next to her, with a kunai drawn, at that! The young girl gave a reflexive, startled flinch that she almost immediately tried to cover up. Forcing her attention away from the boy, and casting her gaze downward to hide the embarrassed tinge of pink on her cheeks behind her pigtails, she focused on the contents of the picnic.

With only a little bit of a nervous warble to her voice, she introduced herself. "Akiyama Tomiko, ah... Reporting in?"

The young girl mentally kicked herself for how uncertain that ended up sounding, and then a second time as it suddenly occurred to her - thanks to all these treats out on display - that she had neglected to actually eat anything at all for breakfast in her rush to get out the door.

Receiving a letter from from the Academy, a summons to attend a mandatory class was enough of a sobering thing for the young Kei. Sure, he was still new to this and grateful for the chance to learn with another lesson so soon after his first class, but it was hard to help feeling a small pit in his stomach to read through the note and spot a few key points.

First, that it was from such a high class member of the Leaf village, a real sennin! He was a bit excited and nervous to realize he was even on the radar for someone with that much skill... but then again, who else had probably screened for his application in the first place or accepted him into the Academy than someone like that. Second, he may have been a bit oblivious for the finer details of what it meant to be a shinobi of the Leaf... but he'd heard for a few families that were as close to royalty as you could get. And Uchiha?! They were right near the top of that list! Oooh, god, what kind of lesson would this be if he was getting trained by someone like that? Was he ready for this?

Finally, he had to stop and re-read the location for this class. It wasn't in the Academy classrooms, or even out in one of the training yards. It was... it was in the Forest of Death! Besides the obvious shiver that came from the name itself, Kei heard a few stories of how dangerous it could be in there and worried what the lesson could be. God, he hoped it wasn't something like a survival course or one where they meant to just leave the students out in such a scary place. The boy had never even gone camping a day in his life before! But there wasn't any point to whine or back out of it now, not if he wanted a chance to actually graduate, to finally be a shinobi and help to protect anyone. If he couldn't handle something like this, how could he dare to face someone in a real fight? Besides, it was still just supposed to be a class. They wouldn't try to actually kill their own students. Would they??

His mother seemed awful stressed when she heard where he was headed, but Kei still knelt beside his bed, packing up as many supplies as he could fit inside to try and get ready for anything. Blankets, kunai, extra snacks, a spare set of clothes, plus a bunch of other odd supplies he could think up before finally packing up the small pack. He had to take a few deep breaths before he turned back, struggling to explain that he would be all right with enough confidence that she'd let him out the front door... trying to convince himself as much as her that Kei would be all right.

By the time he made it out to the Forest, he kept looking around for a sign or anyone else. Teachers, fellow students, just another villager.... anyone. But the area seemed rather deserted at the moment, leaving that creepy edge to race up his spine. Great. Here he was, scaring himself out of it before he even started. Kei quickly shook his head to clear the thoughts away before stepping inside, checking to see if there might be a hidden marker or sign to show where he was supposed to go. It didn't help that the forest quickly got rather dark once he made it past the gate, making it a bit hard to see in the first place and left him fumbling about as if he was blind. At least he was lucky not to trip over himself as he wandered inside, trying to stick to the trail and keep from getting lost. As he kept looking around to hope his eyes might adjust, or scrubbing to his glasses as if it might help to see better... Kei seemed to pause as he thought he smelled something sweet coming along the breeze. Turning in that direction, he stubbed his toe on a nearby rock... but as he looked down, he saw it was set in such an odd place. Not to mention that there was another one set just a little further down. And both seemed to be pointing down the way that this smell was coming from. Maybe that was the way?

He started to follow the trail, watching for more of those odd rocks and wondering if he was headed the wrong way or not. But just before he dared to turn back and try again, Kei looked up to see a small clearing, set with mats, all sorts of tea cups and what looked like a few others out here waiting like it was such a casual party. At least he managed to let out a faint sigh of relief that he seemed to have found the right place, when he recognized someone else up ahead and gave a faint wave over to Tomiko. Kei was quiet at first, but headed up to one of the nearest mats to settle in, waiting to see who else might be coming.

The darkrooms silents was broken by the rising the shining sun. the sun illuminated the room letting the cold night go into the distance. on his nightstand stood a single letter, he wasn't sure how he thought about this training but that didn't really seem to matter at the moment. He went to his small closet to change into his clothes, and he left in the early morning before anyone was awake. He wasn't exactly sure where the forest of death was. It would probably require a map for him to find it, but that wasn't a problem since he kept a small paper map of the village on him.

After some close inspection he found the exact location of the forest. He started walking towards the forest lucky for him since his house was located in the very outskirts of the village making it to the forest wasn't a long hike. He found the forest in no time and made his way inside. He wasn't sure what exactly this lesson had in store for him, but all he cared about right now was getting there. He found a small path in the forest like told in the letter and he followed.

Man, this place is really out of the way. And the rumors I've heard about this place apparently this place is dangerous.

He slowly wallowed his way down the path while he didn't exactly know just where in the forest he would he he was just concerned with getting there on time so he put up a quick running pace. He followed the path for some time before coming to an opening. He was surprised at the scene he saw in the opening he saw some firmlair faces and some not so in the open. He had no clue why it looked like a picnic he stood there in shock.

It had been a pretty long day for Kira as she had just finished her tutor session with Soku. Her initial plan was too relax the following day, as she thankfully did not have any classes, however that was short lived as the moment she got home she saw a letter neatly placed on the floor right behind her front door. It was was quite questionable as to how it got there but it then again training to become a full-fledged ninja meant that things like this were becoming the norm.

Unfortunately for Kira the plans for a relaxing day was short lived as the contents of the letter explained that there was a mandatory class that she and other academy students had to attend. Sighing to herself Kira prepared for tomorrow’s compulsory lesson. After preparing for the class Kira found herself falling asleep.

Upon waking with a sudden jolt Kira found herself yawning but grabbing her important belongings and leaving the house, however this was not done before she had cleaned herself.

Making her way to the site of the class Kira read the location however only failed to realise exactly where she was going till she got to the entrance of the forest of death. “Oh you have to joking right?” Kira exclaimed openly as even she heard of the stories of this place. Continuing her journey she noticed a young boy that seemed familiar to her. ‘Perhaps hes from the other class’ she thought to herself as she exclaimed “Hey wait up” as he entered the forest.

Clearly the mysterious boy didn’t hear her as he kept moving through the forest as if he was following some sort of trail. It was only till she looked down at the floor that she noticed the rocks that seemed out of place on the floor. The trail lead to a clearing in which she found herself behind other people roughly the same age as her.

Asuka took another sip from her tea cup waiting for the students to arrive. It wasn't long until the first arrived. Well... it was interesting to see that Kaito was the first to arrive. She was happy to see him, that is until he got closer and saw both of them. Apparently that was reason enough to pull out a Kunai. Asuka stared at Kaito for a few seconds before she couldn't hold it anymore. The laugh that started was quite loud. Oh man, this was simply amazing. Kaito indeed had fire in his heart, although he would have to be taught how to control it because it could lead to some unwanted situations.

Rayne on the other hand didn't find it amusing. She sighed loudly as Asuka started laughing. That was the difference between Asuka and her, Asuka tended to find humor on the situation while Rayne took it more seriously, looked at every potential angle for any danger. This kid was just an embarrassment to the Shinobi core. Rayne stood up and walked forward to Kaito, no expression on her face. With a swift and quick movement she slapped the Kunai out of Kaito's hand, which landed few feet away from the picnic that was set up, and walked back. "Stop being an idiot before you poke someones eye out." She said shaking her head on her way back "The reaction to seeing two of the same person is understandable. But instead of looking at the situation first you went straight to aggression. Did you learn nothing at the academy? Jump first into a situation and you might come out of it dead." Sitting back down Rayne headchopped Asuka on top of the head to stop her laughing. "To answer your question... the laughing idiot is the Sennin. I'm her... consciousness." Rayne sighed as Asuka controlled herself.

Asuka smiled at Kaito and waved. "How ya doin' Kaito? Have you been practicing the skill I taught you?" She giggled "I'm sorry about Rayne here. She is known to be quite the... how can I put this... not nice. Especially when it comes to students, she just gets annoyed constantly." Asuka then tilted her head looking at the second person who joined. She seemed a bit shy, or unsure on what she was doing later exactly. Oh man, this would be tons of fun. Asuka waved her hand in dismissal once the girl started to speak. "Reporting in... Don't be silly." She giggled "No need to be so formal with lil ol' me. We're all comrades in arms here! Come come, sit! Enjoy yourself!"

A third one! Oh man. The Class was going to be bigger than she expected. In any case, hopefully all of them got out of this alive. Although it would look like nothing at first, their reaction would be quite fun. She recognized the guy... she smiled at him. "You're.... Kei right? Yamashito Kei." Asuka giggled, holding her hand in front of her mouth to look more formal. "Cat got your tongue? Man, the newer generation seems to be quieter than expected. Usually the newer generations are more energetic. Gotta teach this one how to have fun!"

Asuka looked at the next kid. Ohhhhhh, Harutoooo! The one she had thought looked too cute to be a student. She laughed holding the back of her head. "Oi! Haruto. Close your mouth before you eat a housefly. Come on sit down, drink the tea!" She looked at the last student to have come. She smiled and waved "And Kira, quite the history you have in the academy. Good thing that's going to change." She giggled.

Asuka looked around at the students that had showed up... had not one of them sat down to drink or eat? Man, she truly needed to change how the academy worked. More fun in the curriculum. Better for the soul. "Seriously, not one of you sat down. Does this whole thing not look good? I promise didn't cook a thing... except the tea. Cause I make great tea."

Rayne took a sip from her tea and looked at the students. "Did poison some stuff though."

"Did not!" Asuka exclaimed back. She sighed... god damn it. Rayne was going to make this a lot harder than anticipated. "Promise that the only thing you might get is a bad stomachache due to eating too much. Swear on ma soul." She crossed her heart. Now she waited for the students to take their place in this en devour to start the class. Once they all did she would start her speech.

"Now, this isn't going to be a practical class. A theoretical one that needs to be said considering how far you've all come. It may seem boring but it is very important considering how it may affect your future." She took another sip from her tea and grabbed another dango stick, eating one. "So, does any of you know how Leaf's Shinobi force get divided? Meaning, the different branches. What each of them do? How to join them? Or is the academy the only thing you know. Now now, you can ask me anything. I'm not going to make fun of you for asking something. Last thing, don't concern yourselfs with the location of the class. More privacy here, I'll keep you safe in case anything big shows up."

Kei was just grateful to make it to the meeting place when there wasn't much for directions once they actually made it to the Forest of Death, but glanced around to see who made it there ahead of him. He'd only met two of them for his first class at the academy, but was still trying to learn the other's names and saw there was a bunch of faces he hadn't seen before. He should have figured there were a lot more students out there, since the Leaf village was already so big... and he'd only gotten accepted to the academy recently.

He looked around and was just about to sit at one of the mats when he turned to face the two women sitting down beside the tea pots, well... one was sitting and the other was just returning after walking up towards another student. Kind of doubtful it was a kind of hint, from the stern look on her face as she went to sit back down. Once he had a chance to really see the two instructors for the lesson, though, Kei did a quick double take and blinked a few times... slipping his glasses off to quickly rub them clean just in case. Nope....he wasn't seeing things, they really were identical! Woww, that was crazy!

Kei listened to the other one speak up as she turned to address him, and just felt his cheeks turn a slight red at the reply. "Uhh... yes. Sorry, sensei... I was just trying to... take it all in. And I got a little lost on the way in, and was just glad that I made it to the right spot." Grateful for the chance to sit and relax a little, Kei tried not to stare at the identical instructors and looked back to the plate of dango sticks in front of him and felt his mouth water for a bit before finally reaching to grab one of them... only to pause a bit at the mention of poision. They wouldn't really do that to students... would they?

Oooh, another quiz... and another chance to show how little he really knew. Kei hadn't stop to think there were even different branches within the shinobi in the Leaf Village, but figured that there must have been a way to sort them all out. Slowly, he raised his hand a bit and tried to answer back, "Ummm.. i don't know how anyone might get in... besides lots of studying, but isn't there a few that know... medical moves? I mean, like the doctors at the hospital? I guess it'd kind of help to have a few, in case anyone got hurt while out on a mission."

After kaito asks his question another 4 students arrive he noticed the girl looking at him but then looking away immediately and then two other boys came, all of them were new to the academy apparently either 9 or 10 years old he couldn’t tell, till someone he saw before came she was 12 just like him but they never got to know each other before from class, Her name starts with K I am sure , Hitoshi once said that a lot of people names from our class starts with a K and mentioned her name, it is still good to see a familiar face especially in this tense situation Kaito thought to himself

He then found one of the Uchiha sensei laughing with some familiarity to it while the other stood up coming his way, The one laughing is probably Uchiha sensei but who is the other one he asked himself but before he could think about it she immediately came and slapped his kunai from his hand, I swear I am going to kill you for this one day He thought after his kunai fell

Kaito then waited till the so called Rayne, answer his question before talking himself,he was kinda red from what happened earlier but he got himself together stared back at her and said “I never really jumped into aggression all I did was get the kunai out to defend myself in case someone attacked me which was likely since you could have been outsiders using the transformation technique for all I know plus since you are her consciousness this means you never physically went to the academy yourself so you aren’t The one to talk” He was angry, not because she criticised him, but because she made it look so easy slapping the kunai from his hand, this ought to have got her... I hope Kaito thought while sitting beside Uchiha sensei, “Hey Uchiha sensei I have been training to counter Genjutsu everyday I have even taught it to another girl In our class actually you ought to teach me more” he said as enthusiastic as ever apparently he was very enthusiastic that he dipped into the food unconsciously, he didn’t even stop when they were mentioning poison he heard them but he barely had any food today and he couldn’t sleep yesterday so he needed some energy to keep himself going

“Yea I do know some of the branches” Kaito said when Uchiha sensei mentioned the branches “There are three, I only remember the ANBU and the medical branches though, I don’t really mind joining either the ANBU or that other branch but not the medical branch my chakra control and Genjutsu were just garbage before you came Uchiha sensei” He said still dipping in the food

It had seemed as if the entire gang of people had arrived. Some of the people looked relatively small in comparison to her. Additionally she did not recognise the any of the former but one, some kid who she had seen around in her class. The two of them had never actually conversed before but she knew of him. With all the students there, it was now time for the lesson to start, however before that could even happen, Kira was threw off, by the statement that Uchiha Sensei had stated. "What do you mean I have quite the history?" Hearing these words put Kira on edge, however she did sit down in front to the teacher for todays lesson.

Seeing that there was food, Kira was about to help herself to some but hearing the mini quarrel between the two sensei's infront of her about poisoning the food, she put the food down instead of risking any health troubles. Whilst it may not actually carry poison, being safe is better than putting trust in someone she just met.

As time went out Kira sat their awaiting for the lesson to start, whilst introductions were being conducted. Sooner than anticipated the question was finally dropped. How was the shinobi force divided? Easy. Before Kira could even pipe up part of the answer had been given out by Kaito. "In addition to the Anbu Branch, and Medical Branch, there is also the Main Branch, in which the majority of the shinobi force are apart of. Those in the medical branch are trained to have precise chakra control and knowledge about the human body, where as those within anbu are the shinobi hand picked as they possess skill that their peers in the main branch do not."

Kira was quite proud of her answer to the question as it showed she had paid attention in class as well as kept up to date with her studies. "As to what branch I want to join? I am not sure, however I would like to be a respectful ninja like Nanjirou Soku"

Asuka looked at bit annoyed. A pout appeared on her face. "Seriously, how come none of you want the tea. It's gosh darn delicious." Asuka took a happy sip from her tea, still eating her sweets. "It's going to look bad if I'm the only one eating and drinking. Rumor gonna come along that I mistreat my students." She said while sitting in the forest of death with four academy students.

In any case Rayne sipped her own tea, hearing Kaito return her tip. With.... a snarky remark. She didn't give anything away that might have been considered a response, no emotion, not even an acknowledgement. She simply took one more sip and looked at Asuka. "I'm Vetoing your complaints. The third out of ten if I'm not mistaken."

Asuka was immediately concerned, turning to her companion with a worried expression. "C-come on! You don't have to take this seriously. It's just stupidity that can be corrected!"

Rayne still with no expression. "Again, vetoed your complaints."

The Sennin simply sighed, it didn't really matter what she could say or do. They came into an agreement a while back that gave Rayne full reign on the decision and execution process. She very rarely used them, yet each time she did the reasoning could be defended till the end of time. Asuka simply sighed knowing that there wasn't going to be anyway around it. "At least wait until the class is over." Rayne simply nodded, in which Asuka sighed in relief. At least she's going to get that. "Yes there are indeed 3 branches in Leaf's Shinobi force. There's the Medic branch whose head is Kishiko Nagisa. Then there's the ANBU branch whose head is Hyuuga Yukio and finally the Main Branch whose head is... well... me!" Asuka giggled at her response. Man, she should double as a comedian... would totally make a killing.

"Well, before I tell you how to join them let me tell you what each of them does. The Main Branch is the branch everyone comes across at one point or another. Every Shinobi has been part of the Main Branch at one point or another. The Main Branch, my branch, is tasked with everything that has to do with the village." Asuka leaned back counting out her responsibilities. "From the academy to the gates, dangers coming from outside the village as well as inside itself. We are tasked with keeping everyone safe, or give out punishments if necessary. Tasked with making young minds like you grow into wonderful Shinobi, or weed out the weak links so they don't have to die a needless death. Best Branch, then again I am biased towards it."

Asuka smiled, scratching the back of her head she waited a few moments for the information to sink in before continuing. "Then there's the ANBU branch. I call them "the heroes no one will ever know.". The main branch task is to stop dangers from disrupting our life, the ANBU's task is to prevent them from happening in the first place. They are a very clever branch that has to keep up to date with every single village, hidden or not, from all corners of the continent. Assess every attack, skirmishes happening inside the country or outside it. No one knows who are the different members, all that's known is that they keep the village safe... their own way."

She let that sink in, from her experience most Shinobi decided to go. The life appealed to them for some reason. She has never understood it but never complained either. Whether she agreed with their methods or not, they kept the village safe. "Then there's the Medic Branch. The doctors of the village. The people who will try and keep you alive no matter what happens. Becoming one is extremely difficult since it's a lot easier to blow someone to pieces than bringing those pieces back together. I have known medics to be from the front lines but they are mostly behind the main branch picking up the pieces of our labor. Heroes in their own right. The Hospital being their second home."

She would stop for now, taking another sip from her tea, before continuing as to how to join each branch. "So, any questions so far?"

Kei looked back and forth between the two women, wondering if it was really two separate people or if it was the effect of some jutsu... like a clone or something similar? But the way they talked back and forth was too natural, too organic to be anything rehearsed (though young Kei didn't actually know the term and couldn't seem to come up with best way to describe that feeling). It was a bit distracting to think that they looked so identical but tried to focus on the set up spread before them, with the boy sitting down at one of the nearby mats. There was that brief hesitation to take a bite from the dango stick after the talk of poisons, while the other students seemed to pull back as well to show the same reaction. But he could see the look of annoyance, almost hurt in the sensei's expression that finally tempted Kei to reach out for one of the sticks to nibble at the treat and quietly spoke up a bit. "T-thank you, sensei.... I'm just not really fond of tea. I'm sure it's very nice. The treat is really good, though!"

He continued to nibble on the stick after giving his brief, clumsy explanation for his bit of knowledge of the different branches inside of the Leaf Village when Kei barely knew that there was different specialties between one shinobi to the next. But at least he listened eagerly as his classmates tried to mention some about the ANBU squads out there or the detail work for the medical shinobi. He seemed impressed that Kira knew so much detail about the branches, but turned back to Asuka-sensei as she described each one to make sure they all understood the different roles and choices that would be there if they managed to become one of the shinobi of the Leaf. The boy was curious to realize he was sitting in front of the head for one of the branches, though and felt star-struck for a moment to think he was getting a chance to practice and learn from such a high-ranking shinobi!

"Wow... they all sound kind of cool. And pretty tough to get in for the different tasks they had. Did you have to pick one when you graduate from the Academy? Or did one of the leaders for that branch select who they wanted?" He asked, a bit curious how that might work. "I wasn't sure if you could pick... or everyone was told which branch to join?" Kei said, looking worried for a moment at the idea of being told what his path would be, since the notion didn't seem to sit well with the young boy and was silently hoping that wasn't the case.

Kaito was annoyed about what happened with this Rayne fellow She ignored me, She just did! She doesn’t look this strong and yet she did this to me,I swear I am going to get my revenge and defeat her one day I can possibly defeat her now but I doubt Uchiha sensei would let me even near her after what happened plus they seem really close to each other, Idiot they definitely are, they are twins they are the closest living thing to a clone, a clone that is actually strong, I trained hard though, I will defeat her, if only we can be alone for an hour I will show her who is the boss here Kaito thought angrily to himself while looking down at the Food, This looks...delicious He thought and immediately rushed into eating it he ate so fast because of how angry he was

He heard rayne talking to Asuka about vetoing a third What are they talking about Hmm, I won’t matter though after I defeat her Kaito told himself and he immediately started eating even faster from the hype he got after saying he could defeat her

Kaito occasionally looked at Kira they were in the same class yet they barely know each other names, Kaito knew most boys in his class but he didn’t put that effort into knowing girls he does know some,Mainly Mei his crush, I saw Kira talking to mei are they friends? Maybe she can help me get closer to her! Perfect I am going to ask her today He thought, Kaito always loved the prospect of having new friends and Kira seemed really interesting in class too, so it’s all good

Uchiha sensei then started talking about the branches and their objectives, Kaito knew most of them, he tried to pay attention in that class, Yayoi, His friend and classmate told him to do so at least, He heard the name Hyuuga Yukio, He is the guy Hitoshi, his other classmate and Hyuuga friend, Keeps talking about he says he is one of the if not the strongest Hyuuga alive, and he is head of the ANBU branch Kaito thought to himself, So he would be my superior when I join the ANBU huh that’s good I would be able to tell Hitoshi all about his skills and how to become as great as him Kaito thought happily while drinking some tea

When Uchiha sensei finished Kaito had missed most of what she said in the last bit about the medical branch since it wasn’t suited to him anyway or so he was told by his teachers and friends at the academy, he focused on what she said about the ANBU branch and the main branch though because he knew he would join the main branch sooner rather than later so he needed information about it too, he then heard the boy who got younger appearance asking Uchiha sensei, if he chooses which branch to join, “Yes who gets to choose where we join? And how can we join each branch” Kaito asked excitingly looking at Uchiha sensei while he got an eye on rayne

Kaito was right, who decided on what branch we would go too upon graduating from the academy. "Yes. I too would like to know the answer to kaito's question." She heard what kei had said but she did not know his name to refer to him as he had asked the same question as kaito. For whatever reason Kira seemed to notice there seemed to be a bit of hostility between Kaito and the other person sitting beside their current sensie, who was suprisingly enthusiastic to share that she was apart of head of the main branch. Another thing that she noticed was that she mentioned the name of someone else, yukio? But never mentioned the head of the medical branch.

"Who's the head of the medical branch? you never stated the persons name." Kira piped up whilst she listened intently to whatever was going be said next. Considering that it seemed that the 3 of them were the ones paying attention with the others doing as they pleased, Kira beckoned Kei to come closer so that the lesson felt more direct and personal. Hoping the young lad, would come over, Kira moved a bit to her left leaving some space for him to sit down.

three's... theres something important about three's... "Say, sensei? should the 3 of us pass the academy at the same time would we all end up on the same team?" Kira refered to Keito, Kei and herself as it could be easily seen that they were the ones benefiting the most from this sudden mandatory class. Looking at the two males beside her Kira spoke aloud. "I feel like we could be a good team." Despite not really knowing anything about either of them she kinda just had a good feeling that they were fairly reliable.

Asuka gasped in surprise. How.... how could someone not be "fond" of tea. Tea was the drink of the gods themselves, the drink so divine no one dared to question it's flavor combined with the sweetness of it. "You.... you're not fond of it?" Asuka simply asked, eyes wide open. Not believing the words she was hearing.

Rayne on the other hand, pinched her nose. Knowing what was going to come next. Barely looking at Kei she sighed. "Oh you brat..." Rayne spoke out while Asuka kept ranting on about the blessing that was tea. "Asuka..." Rayne started calling Asuka, trying to bring her attention back to the matter at hand. "One must truly comprehend the flavor, how deep it goes and it's various positive effects to have an understanding of how blessed we are to have tea!'

"Asssukkaaa..."

"Tea is what helps us study, keep us awake, brings peace when stressed and appar-" Her rant was cut short by a hard head chop to the top of her head at the hands of her twin. Asuka took a quick glance at Rayne who was glaring back. "Don't get sidetracked." Rayne spoke firmly to which Asuka looked back at the students and slightly laughed, scratching the back of her head in embarrassment.

Asuka listened to her students. It seemed as though they all had the same question. She simply waited until all three finished before giving answering. Firstly, on how to join each branch. "Well, firstly you have to graduate from the academy." She started "Years back students were recruited to the different branches, mainly ANBU but once I became Sennin quickly turned that..." Asuka shuddered "That... stupidity down. Why stupidity? Because students, let alone children, were thrown into a world they were not ready for. Forced to either grow quickly, turn into simply tools or die at the attempt hence why it was decided to have all students be ready for the world they chose to live in or simply be kicked out hence avoiding needless death."

Asuka smiled and continued "Once Genin you are automatically part of the Main Branch so you can choose to grow there, for the medic branch.... pretty sure you can simply go to the hospital and ask to be part of their branch although it's up to their discretion whether you get to join or not. For ANBU though.... you either go to Yukio or summon one of the captains. Otherwise they'll come to you."

Kaito was still eating his fill he had eaten lots of stuff by now close to quarter the food , “Wow this was good Uchiha sensei I will give you that” kaito said smilingy, but then Uchiha sensei went all out about tea and how much she loved it, She sounds like she is going to kill the dude, I better take a cup before she kills me too Kaito thought to himself immediately pouring tea and drinking it, “WoW Uchiha sensei you are really good at making tea you know! Even better than my mother, just don’t tell her that, will you?” He said while drinking the tea he poured, he didn’t like how this Rayne treated Uchiha sensei, she just hit a sennin this wasn’t acceptable plus she is cocky and I don’t like that He thought to himself, when at last Uchiha sensei decided to answer their questions she told them about how she changed the system to a new safe one, “Actually my father was in the old system all his comrades died because of it or so he told me but sensei, doesn’t this mean only the strong ones are going to survive? And doesn’t this assure the village strong ninjas at all times? I have always wanted to ask my father but I thought he was going to beat me up if I do, also sensei weren’t you part of it?” He asked all this questions at the same time knowing that Uchiha sensei might actually answer none of them and just skip over it but it didn’t matter as long as he asked

He heard his name again, Hyuuga yukio, The ANBU sennin, “Uchiha sensei forgive me if this is disrespectful but how strong is Hyuuga Yukio and can you beat him in a fight” He asked her so fixated wanting to know the answer

Kei was still nibbling at a few of the treats laid out and going back for seconds when he paused for a moment, one of the dango sticks still held between his teeth like an over sized toothpick when he heard the sensei's reaction to his comment. Immediately, the boy seemed to turn red at first that he was singled out or that she seemed so taken aback that he didn't want a cup (despite the polite refusal). But then Kei started to turn slightly pale to hear the way she continued to rant and describing every detail of how exquisite that tea could be.... at least, how she believed it to be. Was she just messing with him, like the taunt of poison in their food earlier? Or was she serious and actually upset that Kei didn't want a cup. Part of him wanted to say that it was all just an act to mess with the fresh students, but the tone from the other woman... the sensei's twin or whoever she was, the way she kept trying to interrupt and get Asuka-sensei's attention left him with a bit of doubt. Not to mention the slight jump in his seat for the quick chop to get her back on track. He was still a bit quiet and wanted to add an apology for earlier, but didn't want to risk setting anything off again and decided to just finish his treat in silence. About this point, he noticed that one of the girls was making a little call to sit a bit closer to her. Either so they could talk easier and listen to the sensei... or offer support in case she went on another tea-rant, it seemed safer to have some back up and Kei quietly seemed to dart over to the offered spot with a thankful glance to the other girl. Kira, he thought it was?

He did look up with curiosity as their instructor finally started to describe the process of how to get into the various branches. How the process had been changed from previous generations and left everyone to settle into the Main Branch before they could learn their skills and develop how they chose. To apply for another branch or even be selected if that student showed a particular aptitude for an ANBU or a medical shinobi. The boy seemed to calm to hear that there was an actual choice for the process instead of being forced into a particular rank he may not be ready for. "Seems like... the Main Branch would be a good spot to start from. You can... kind of be anything. Help out in any way.. pick your own path." He said as much because he meant it, as it was to try and get back into Asuka-sensei's good graces. Kei wondered a little of the Medical branch, that it might be helpful to learn some healing jutsu as well, but it was far too early for him to even think of a path just yet... and he doubted he might have the skills to pull off something like that, anyways. So no point to worry about it when he still needed to graduate first!
