Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Shikai looked around. All black. By his side was someone he knew to be an ally. In front of him formed a a shapeless mass of chakra, the kind he had never seen before. It had these horrible red eyes. It stared right into Shikais very soul and he found himself looking away from it. Looking down. Oh good he still had his pants on. Pants? Why was that important. Everything faded to a white haze.

Shikai opened his eyes. He was in pain all over. He was hooked up to an IV. Apparently he had been dehydrated and needed a saline solution. As he moved he felt that he had a broken rib. He was lying on his back. Quite comfy all things considered. Seems he had been brought to the hospital, though he didn't remember much of it. Where was he before this happened and what exactly happened. Licking his teeth he found grains of sand stuck to his gums.

Oh right, the beach. We were following someone who knocked out two guards at the gate.

Shikai turned his head to the right. He could feel the muscles ache from exposure to strong currents. To his right Kurokawa was still unconscious, or at least he thought she was. Her eyes were closed. No blindfold on them though. It was places next to her on the portable table doubling as a night stand. His own table had a little cup with water in it and a spit tray. He slowly moved his arm to grab the cup. His arm was shaking and his muscles were not happy with suddenly being called to work. He used half of the water to rinse out the sand in his mouth and spit it in the tray. The other half he drank. The sooner he could take in fluids himself the sooner he would be free of the drop.

After drinking he leaned back and stared at the celling. White lamps. Not too pleasant to look at but then again maybe that was just because clinically white light reminded everyone of the hospital. He checked his own face. No mask like yesterday. No headgear either. His blue eye patch covering his green eye and hiding his Heterochromia was not there. Then again the hospital would not care that he had one blue eye like his mother and one green eye like his father. The memory of him seemed to vague by now. He would have to go visit the grave some time soon.

Oh right, I had a Snapshot running. Easy way to know what I did last night

Shikai went through the footage only to relive his latest nightmare. It seemed the memory had been partially erased and all that was left was this red eyed chakra cloud and the fading to white. A snip with the guards at the gate was slip viewable but parts both before and after that had taken a hit from his most recent attempt to be a Shinobi. What an excuse for an ANBU he turned out to be.

Kurokawa opened her eyes and felt the soft bed beneath her. She was no longer on the beach that's for sure. A draft went past her eyes and she could feel them slightly dry out meaning that she did not currently have her blindfold on. The room was a small two patient one apparently either with a a view or with air conditioning. She could sense the patient next to her putting down his cup and leaning back. He seemed to have trouble moving. There was a cup in front of Kurokawa as well and she was thirsty as all hell so she reached out of it only to find it very hard to breath when she moved. A side from bruised ribs she had been rather anaemic and was hooked up to two IV's. One for rehydration and one that seemed empty and needed to be taken down. Blood transfusion.

"Where... are we?"

From how hard it was for her to move due to the lightning strikes and the patient next to her seeming to have the same problem, she assumed that it was Shikai. Her head still hurt and she had trouble focusing on heartbeats and surroundings at the moment so she was not sure.

Welcome back to the waking world. I had a delicious meal while you were out cold. Couldn't tell you want it was but since I was basically spoon fed I wont complain

You like blood transfusions. I'm not surprised, but I guess blood type matters to you. Noted

After getting some fluids in she took her blindfold and slowly put it on. Her fingers were still not moving right so the blindfold would need to be redone as soon as possible and constantly needed adjustments but it was still better than nothing.

Sara walked into the room to check on both of them, remember the kind of conditions they were in during that night. It had appeared to be a great battle, from her understanding possibly against a single combatant. She wasn't sure of how they ended up on the losing end but they obviously gave great effort, enough to be left in such deplorable states. The worst off was Sunaku Shikai, the name given by his boss lady, so he was the first she wanted to check on. He had a broken rib, another rib was fractured, that healed the night of the incident, minor electrical burns and massive massive bruising. He was still covered in plenty of colorful 'my little pony' bandages, still releasing some of the benefits they had upon him. She checked and recorded his pulse and temperature, and noticed the cup of water next to him was disturbed. She looked in to the cup and found some of the liquid of water was missing. She checked off another item on the clip board. Then she walked to the foot of his bed and placed the papers in the basket and went to the next bed. She would repeat the same processes, though include the blood transfusion. The girl,Hashigaki Kurokawa, had managed to fend off more damage it appeared. She got off with mild electrical burns and decent bruising, but lost a lot of blood from a self inflicted wound. That was something she didn't understand. Anything else wrong was taken care of on the beach. She also noticed that the bind around her eyes was on again, and checked off another box. She placed the notes in the box and then headed out of the room.

She would call Amaya, whom wanted to be notified when they were moving around a little. She would want to speak with these two as soon as possible. Sara would go back into the room after making the call and check if any of them were awake. She didn't want to wake them if she didn't have to, rest was important for those two right now.

"We're in the hospital. Better get some rest. Hopefully we are out of here by tomorrow."

Shikai leaned back in the bed to relax as a nurse entered the room. He remained relatively motionless but with open eyes to make sure she knew that he was awake. He suddenly became aware of the many bandages he was sporting at the moment. He looked like an orange and yellow little girls with hints of pink and the occasional purple. He didn't really care much for bright colours but he preferred the purple one over the yellow and orange ones. He considered pulling of the few pinks ones there. For now they stayed in place.

The nurse went to Kurokawa who had gotten her blindfold back on by now. As she was over there he moved one hand to his ear and found a bit of crusted mucus armour still stuck back there. It was easy to know if any of that stuff stuck, as it would itch quite a bit when it was not removed. Kinda like the bandages.

The nurse left and Shikai looked around the room. Seemed the ceiling could handle a little web so he shot a string onto the ceiling and pulled himself up to a sitting position. He would then pull the string off the wall again in a quick tug and throw it in the trash. He had to lie down again though due to the rib but at least his back got some air for a moment. The nurse came back in all of a sudden to check on them. Apparently someone thought that their condition was a bit worse for wear than he had first estimated it to be.

Amaya waited patiently in the waiting area for word on the two she brought in. The other gate guards were fine and their statements and testimonials on the situation did not aid her in apprehension of the culprit. Needless to say that they did not really see what had happened and only knew that they were knocked out by the wait of crushing rice bags. Amaya was thorough in her questioning which revealed discrepancy in their claims. Neither could remember events leading up to the strange phenomenon and in fact had conflicting stories leading up to losing consciousness. Amaya would ponder on the situation as patients strolled by wearing hospital gowns resembling what she saw and viewed on the Snapshot recording. Before long the med nin from before had returned to inform Amaya that the two they had rescued were now conscious. She nodded before being led to their area. Amaya would pause at the door before heading into the room. The dark haired kunochi would move towards the middle of the room, looking to the blind girl and slowly looking to the boy with colorful bandages. Her emerald green eyes and faint smile remained constant giving no hint to what she was truely feeling. She would fix her lips to ask one thing for the moment. Something that needed to be asked...

"The two of you... are you alright?"

Kurokawa heard Shikai's voice. He was telling her that they were in the hospital which was a good thing all things considered. Better hospitalised than captured. She remained silent as Sara did her rounds to check on them. Knowing that she was still in Iwa and in good hands had calmed her down a bit. She was still disturbed by what had happened last night. Had the one she let in been a spy or had the real Izura attacked them. Intonation was clearly the same but then again if this world contained Uchiha that could mimic everything from your movement to your handwriting there might be someone, maybe someone like herself, who specialised in mimicking speech patterns and other stuff caught by the ear rather than the eye. It is entirely possible to train yourself to resemble someone so closely even their own mother will have a hard time telling them apart.

Sara seemed down with her rounds and went out of the room again. Kurokawa turned her head towards Shikai who was trying to sit up.

"That sounds painful. Maybe you should wait? That reminds me. Did you get anything out of the situation last night?"

Shikai didn't answer but instead went back to lying down and while she was waiting for him to get to it they suddenly had company again.

She didn't quite know where she had encountered this person before but knew that she had at some point.

"Seen better days..."

Kurokawa didn't really have too big a grasp on her condition other than were it hurt so for now she didn't have much to say.

The small girl waited by the doorway, listening in on what would be spoken about. She wore the traditional doctors/nurses outfit, having changed from her other clothing earlier. Blood had stained her dress from playing in the black sand last night. Though it would be obvious how young, and tiny she was. She barely made it head level above the towering beds. Was she really staff in the hospital, or some kid playing doctor peaking in on a meeting that might need to be considered confidential? Amaya would possibly know whom she was, given her position and affiliation with Jomei and the ANBU to a small extent. But the other two? At that, Sara didn't know who Amaya was really, except that she had rescued these two, and requested knowledge upon their revival.

She hadn't a chance to see whom the attacker was, arriving just late of the action ending, but interest and information of such was strong to the young lass. Was it the persons power, to decommission not just two but four shinobi and escape another in the nick of time that interested her. Or was it something else that drove her? A sense of duty and wanting to bring such a person to justice. She wanted to know if the attacker was alone, or had they help? From the injuries, the attacks almost seemed too similar on these two to have been from more then one person. One, extremely strong person.

Of course their were other motives to her listening in. These two were her patients. She didn't need the woman stirring them up and re-injuring their wounds. She would allow things to continue as they were, and step in if things got out of hand.

Shikai didn't get time to answer Kurokawa before they got company again. This whole ordeal seemed to have attracted a lot of attention from upstairs cause it was none ofter than the head of the ANBU division gracing them with her presence. She might have already copied what was left of his snapshot from last night. Maybe she would have better luck restoring it than he had. Kurokawa spoke before him when they were asked how they were but he figured he should answer for himself as well.

"Aside from the ribs it's nothing that would keep us here long I think."

He didn't feel particularly comfortable being in the presence of the ANBU Sennin after such a failure. Last night he felt completely useless, and he is suppose to handle delicate affairs in the village? Even with 3 flares prepared he almost didn't get a signal off before he was biting the dust. His Mucus armour did little to delay that. If only he had access to the golden mucus his mother always talked so highly about. But so far he still had a little more to go before that would be a reality.

"So what happened after we blacked out last night?"

He didn't remember anything from hitting the sands to waking up here so might as well try to piece things together. The flares must have done at least some good for them to be in the hospital. If possible he wanted to know what the next move would be? Even if they have to go through a debriefing first.

Amaya smirked in response to their caustic reply. They were tough but clearly were unhappy about the outcome. Amaya however was more focused on their well being and thankful for the outcome being that they were still breathing. They were this village's future. Once they were her age, she would be looking to them for leadership and guidance as they will be the new leaders of the village. Their generation in essence, was her future.

"Well, thanks to your brave efforts, quick thinking, readiness, and teamwork, you were able to fend off a tough foe long enough for back up to arrive. I, Akira Amaya, Sennin of the corps am honored by you both. You held true to your promise to the village and were ever vigilant, ready to fight tonight! Huah!"

Ready to fight tonight as should every shinobi. No one knew when the enemy would strike so it was Amaya's philosophy that everyone be ready to fight tonight. Her words were heart felt but her voice stern and strong caring the weight of authority. With her head held high, her eyes darted down onto them. She would step closer to them but not to cross in the middle of them but only to stop at the foot of their beds. Her face still a faint smile, revealing no emotions felt.

"Still... the culprit evaded us without us aquiring a positive ID. I need you both to tell me everything you remember. Any clues to help identify him, what he was wearing, tattoos, scars, hair color, height, shoe sizes, specific smells, if you can mimic his voice, anything at all. Anything you noticed about the other two guards and what happened to them. I need to know everything."

Amaya would await their response patiently. She had stopped Shikai's Snapshot from being removed but from what she viewed, it had been damaged. In time it may recover depending on unknown factors like luck. Still, Amaya was confident. With their help, victory was assured.

Kurokawa spoke first. She was the front runner after all with Shikai as her back-up, hanging in the shadows ready to throw the webs if needed.

"We arrived at the gate's to find two unconcious guards. They seemed to have been knocked out by falling trade goods, but we all know that it was not windy that night, and stuff like that is well stacked. Also if they were qualified to guard the gate they would not go down by a few sacks falling towards them. Whatever happened it was staged to look exactly like they just got buried in grain sacks."

Kurokawa took a brief break to get some more water in. Her mouth was still dry from last night and she didn't want a course throat or cracked lips as she spoke.

Uh stabs at the staff of stone if it turns out to just be an accident. I like it.

No way in hell someone makes that huge a mistake, neither when assigning position nor patrolling. Something is wrong.

"When we got there we heard speech from the beach and went to investigate. we heard part of a conversation between someone with a high pitch in their voice, a child, and someone with a distinct intonation and speech pattern. I would not know it if I had not encountered it just the day before. We signed in a wounded warrior who spoke with the same voice and in the same way."

She took another pause. Was she such a poor judge of character that she could not even tell if someone was of malicious intend when she spend so much time with them. She had no problem earlier discerning killing intent but here there was no such thing. Neither at the gate nor at the beach. If this person was spy he should want to go for the kill to leave no witnesses, but he didn't. He didn't even seem like he wanted to.

"Anyways, we confronted him, he transformed and attack. I tried to stay up right but in the end we both fell to the ground. After that is a blur. I know that Shikai got a flare off but I am not sure if killing was the plan for this guy. Don't want to know what other plans he could have had though."

So a man that she met at the village gates was the most likely the culprit. Sara was surprised how diligent these two were. Shrugging off their injuries as if they weren't in such a life threatening position. Even if the lady was right about her assumption of the attacker not meaning to kill them, should such be shrugged off? He easily could have if he wanted, that was apparent given their conditions upon discovery. And then those other two guards. If they were connected, the person that did this had control of the entire situation. He might have been surprised by these two, and wasn't able to fully hide the fact of his discovery. But he could have killed all of them, but didn't. She might have most likely been correct in her assumption.

Then again, if the flare never went off, who knows what might have gone down. The man might have decided he had little time left to do what was needed and run. The girl was able to recognize certain similarities from their confrontation. It was a smart move, calling for back up before and then releasing the flare. In the end, he managed to take down Four ninja, and by the sounds of it, if it was the same guy, in a already weakened state. She had heard of someone getting treatment that was an outsider trying to enter the village looking for help. A ploy possible? A method of gaining entrance to the village for unknown reasons. He was obviously after something, or in need of something. He could have left them alone and probably been left alone in kind, but he had the urge to attack. Was that girl that was their connected to the incident?

Should she speak up? Was it her place to? Sara wasn't sure, twitching slightly at the prospect. The mystery girl might be able to shed some more light on the situation if they could find her, and Sara knew exactly what she looked like too. A moment passed and her twitching grew. Maybe say it in private, maybe. It could be nothing. Perhaps the woman questioning these two already know about the girl? She wouldn't want to implicate something if it was unneeded.

Shikai figured he would just fill in his version based off of what Kurokawa had given as information.

"Well the snap shot is working fine for the part at the gates at least. I was hanging back, out of arms reach but within ear shot and made sure that Kuro was visible to me at all times. I went in to take a look at the injured when Kurokawa said she could hear faint whispers on the beach."

Talking like this for a lengthy period of time hurt his ribs. He knew he had to keep the sentences shorter to avoid having to take any deep breaths. He hadn't been with the ANBU for that long but his track record already seemed grim. Only his second assignment an already fifty percent failure. He would have to work like hell and succeed to make up for this. Shikai would continue his speech in shorter sentences to avoid some of the pain.

"We got to the beach. Two individuals there already. One of them very young. The other transformed as we made our presence known. He advanced at high speed with his glowing red eyes. The rest is kinda murky. Suddenly we were defending ourselves. Some sort of Rain Shinobi Forhead protection. I had brought three flares for the mission. Wanted to grab one but he destroyed it along with Kuro's headset. Grabbed the second one and fired. I remember being bound by water. Dehydrated by some sort of heat explosion. Then it all went dark."

Shikai needed a short break before speaking again. Short sentences didn't help much, just spread the pain out into smaller more manageable pieces. Didn't remove any of it.

Two shinobi allegedly knock out two guards, staged it as an accident, wiped their memory, before these two arrived... what were the up to and why? Both Shikai and kurokawa arrived to catch them in the act. They were attacked and knocked out as well but before they could wipe their memory, Amaya had run them off. This brought Amaya to a conclusion that they didn't want their presence there known... but why? Perhaps they were serving the area or placing something unfriendly there in preparation for an invasion. After they were done giving there testimony, Amaya would key up on her head set and order a search around that area and would solicit the help of the SRD to be on standby in case there were explosives found. With that taken care of, Amaya would focus on the suspects. There were two but they only really had information on one of them. Finding him was the key to finding the other and discerning their plan. A man with black hair, Red eyes, strong water and fire jutsu, came in just a few days ago wounded at the gates, wearing hospital gown, Rain headband... this guy was sounding really familiar to Amaya. A dark haired man with strange red eyes from Konaha arrived just the other day wounded and the Tsuchikage let him in with open arms in order to treat his injuries. However, this suspect was reported to be in his room just moments after Amaya had arrived...

"Theatricallity and deception are indeed powerful agents. You both have great prowess of deduction, you will make great leaders one day."

Amaya's eyes would trace the room to the door. The sound of an accelerating heart beat was so loud to her that it was distracting. Amaya would shift her foot and pop open the closed door [Gravel Shift r2] in order to force whoever it was pressed up against it to fall in. To her surprise it was the medic who arrived on seen and nursed these two. She was more than just curious but she knew something.

"Thank you you two, for now I would like you to get as much rest as possible. Ms... thank you for your assistance and if I may, aquire you further. There is a patient here by the name Uchiha Izura. Leaf shinobi who came in a day or two ago injured… could you take me to his room?"

Uchiha Izura. Leaf shinobi…and Lord of the Land of Rain. What are you up to...

Kurokawa would try to get some last words in before Amaya left the room.

"Be careful with Izura. If it was not him we encountered at the gates it was someone who knows him well. Someone mimicking his speech pattern that closely would have to be a close friend, or the equivalent of it."

After saying hat Kurokawa simple had no more strength for now. Se sunk back into the bed and almost got submerged in it with the way she seemed to continue downwards.

I'm going to take over for a second and but you in a rejuvenating meditative state. I'll repair your body but you need to sleep while I do so. I'll be mindful of your body temperature so as to minimize the forming of nightmares. I need you up and running so no complaint. We share this body now you know.

Just don't go doing anything I wouldn't do.I'd like things to be the same when I wake up.

Kurokawa would fall into an unconscious state almost floating around inside her own mind while the spirit would travel from injury to injury and use the materials it had gotten from the blood transfusion, and the healing already applied, to restore her to full health. She would be none responsive for the majority of the process but the monitors would still show normal, to steadily improving vital signs. By the time the sun would rise the next morning she would be well enough to be discharged, and within a few days she would be back to taking on new missions.

So the actions were fast and swift. Did he perhaps catch them by surprise? That could be a good reasoning for why they were defeated. This person was slick, taking advantage of surprise to get them. But the girl knew whom it was from speaking. That didn't seem like a surprise then? And it didn't sound like she heard him as she was fainting, but more like a conversation of some sort. The girl was blind, so maybe that was something she was capable of, but still, Sara thought. Still, time would be needed. Words exchanged. He had to be strong, he had to be swift. Though not dangerous enough to kill. Attacking two shinobi wasn't exactly going to go unseen, unpunished. She couldn't understand why he attacked at all then. Why he didn't kill everyone.

Sara walked more into the room center, seeing as they had finished talking. She could see that some pain could be felt from Shikai. His ribs and bruising effecting him greater then she would have expected. If they hadn't ended it there, she might have ended the conversation for them. Her patients needed rest and time. Their wasn't much more anyone could do for them involving healing. The girl Kurokawa spoke, warning that caution should be taken towards a person named Izura. Was that the one whom did this? The woman asked for to be taken to another patient. "Um..Sure. That name sounds vaguely familiar." She pulled the door open and held it open, waiting for Sennin Akira to exit. She looked back at the two, seeing Kurokawa sink into her bed. They said what they needed to it seemed. She would escort Akira to the reception desk, closing the door behind her. She would look up the room number of this Uchiha...that sounded very familiar, but she couldn't remember from when or where. Uchiha Izura, Uchiha Izura, she searched the board of names.

Upon finding him she would escort the Sennin to the man's room. "Did you ever find that girl whom was on the beach with us that night? The one those two spoke about?", she asked Akira. Asking couldn't hurt right? It would certainly quell her feelings of anxiety. The anxiety she felt of knowing whom the girl was, and her uncertainty of not speaking about her.

She stopped in front of his door and held onto the doorknob. Sara might have been stepping beyond her bounds with what she was about to say, but she felt the need to say it. "Please remember he is a patient here. I ask that you.....don't upset his condition to much." Before turning it and opening the door wide. She would go inside as well, one to hear what, how he would respond. She wanted to know if this man really was the one whom attacked those two. Two she wanted to make sure that Akira didn't...cause problems for him while he was in the facility. And third, she wanted to see a sennin, of ANBU to boot did her job.

Shikai knew that it was only a matter of time before the snapshot would be restored. With the top echelon of the ANBU taking personal interest in the matter all manner of resources would likely be devoted to it. Not to mention that even if they were not successful, the fact that the erase was stopped would mean that the snapshot would repair on it's own once he had gotten better. For now it was best to just get some rest and recover as fast as possible to be ready for the next big thing.

Shikai figured it was time for another practice run with Kurokawa soon. They both needed to get stronger fast if they were to do their job with all these undercover whatnot's running around the village. Was his a sign of lacklustre security or just very powerful people infiltrating Stone for one reason or the other? Shikai would want to follow the case but he would have to wait till later.

"We need another session soon Kuro."

It seemed that Kurokawa was going to slep it out for now so Shikai would not start up any new conversation. He did however want to give notice to his mother that he was okay and asked one of the nurses to find someone who could relay the information to the clan housing. It would be another day or two before he could go home so he needed to get the information through in order to lessen any worry.

Amaya would nod to the two brave patients before following the medic out. She would listen to the medics concerns and found a bit of humor out of it. Her concerns were warranted considering Iwa born shinobi were quick to brawn. She would not respond verbally but would nod in understanding... little did the medic know however, this nod was an acknowledgement that Amaya would consider her words. The two would come to an empty room with two baffled looking anbu. They were supposed to be keeping watch of Izura but clearly failed at their tasking. Amaya would not let them explain anything before dismissing the two guards. She was not surprised at all by this. A shinobi who could travel great distances in a short amount of time, brainwash her guards, and take out two of Iwagakure shinobi could manage to escape a hospital room with only two anbu guards. Amaya would waste no time summoning forensic tools from a scroll. White plastic gloves, dusting tools, plastic zip lock bags, etc. Amaya would search the room for anything she could find. She found a hospital gown which had char residue and sand particles, hospital saddles with sand at its bottom, and more. Last reported by her men that he had not left the room since being emitted into the institution. Once Amaya had what she needed, she would seal everything into a scroll and head out but not before thanking the med nin once more.

"Thank you again. I really appreciate what you and your branch does. Don't worry, this situation is being handled."
