Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Name: Oshiro Takami

Age: 13

Physical Description:</SIZE>

-Height: 150 cm
-Weight: 47.5 kg

Takami’s real appearance is rarely brought to the surface outside of his home, which holds no mirrors; so even he has a limited perspective of himself. He has tight facial features, mimicking his slight frame. His face is heart shaped, and shaved completely bare--though sometimes he can be caught with a bit of stubble growing from a day of neglect. Because of this, Takami's forehead seems particularly large, disproportionate to the way his chin ends in a point. His nose is thin and bony, his lips close, finding a medium between thin and full and lacking in most any color. Brown, almond-shaped eyes sit just above, right under a pair of thin, black eyebrows that curve up almost comically high when he raises them.

Everything about Takami seems to be deceptively thin -- including his muscles. Most of his muscular structure is clearly-defined, but not overly-large; fitting him into a hybrid of "toned" and "wiry." His fingers and toes are longer than average, making his hands and feet fairly large in proportion to his body. Takami’s fingernails also are particularly large, the cuticle starting farther down on the last joint than is typically average for a man. Takami is incredibly slender, being trained in a martial arts style that focuses on flexibility both in body and movement, he has the frame of an acrobat: this is not properly reflected by his attire.

To keep his face hidden, Takami wears an extremely elaborate outfit. The wardrobe, in total, has six layers. The first is a simple, silk gi made out of dark green cloth. This is the outfit that he wears at home and while training, and he keeps it on even when fully dressed. The second is a layer of cloth bandages, which he wraps around his head and arms, keep them loose enough for ease of movement. His eyes and mouth are both left unwrapped. Next comes a larger set of shirt and pants, which are white in color. They almost entirely cover his gi, and fill out his shape so that he seems larger than he is, coming off as almost squat, given his height. Next comes a green sash and scarf, which he lets rest over his shoulders untied. The sash he wraps around his waist, to keep everything tied up. Finally, he dons a coat that is white primarily, with green trimming. At this stage in dressing he also puts on his headband, then a wide-brimmed hat and cloth collar, which covers most of his face and blends into his outfit under the coat.

On his feet he generally wears a pair of wooden sandals, eschewing the high socks, and will sometimes travel with a walking stick, which he believes will allow him to pass for an old man, to those who don't look too closely (the thought amuses him). In this outfit his figure, face, and general appearance are all totally obscured, though his mannerisms are much more difficult to hide.

<SIZE size="150">Mental Description:

Takami is a cautious person, not very quick to trust. He tends to hide his face, and always gives his name as On Syaoran, instead of Oshiro Takami. Since coming to the academy, Takami has made friends only with a stray cat that lives in the back yard of his house, and the local grocer who knew him before he became On, but promised to keep his secret. He is quiet, but not in a shy way: Takami is contemplative, and never answers a question before he's sure he's formulated an answer. Because of this there are no "uhm"s "y'know"s or "like"s in his responses. He is clear and concise, often doing his best to make a few words count for a lot, rather than expand unnecessarily. He isn't much for idle conversation, though he did retain his mother's appetite for philosophy, and is always willing to debate or discuss worthwhile topics; to expand his knowledge; to learn new viewpoints.

The Oshiro are pacifists, and Takami holds true to this. He will never take a life, and in fact will often go so far as to find ways to incapacitate his foes without ever truly harming them -- or even better, to just avoid them all-together.

While composed in most everything he does, Takami is extremely paranoid: a gift from his father. He's constantly watching his surroundings, scanning crowds, keeping distances. When he speaks to a person he always has his full weight on his front leg, ready to jump back at a moment's notice. In fact, he goes so far as to often be physically leaning away from the person he's talking to, though he doesn't realize it.

Two relevant details beyond the already described personality are: he has a nervous tick, and he is extremely loyal. The nervous tick appears primarily when he feels uncomfortable or nervous and the primary cause is another person. He will always begin to rub his right thumb against the side of his pointer finger, his hand held in a loose fist. Every minute or so that this goes on, he tightens the fist slightly, then relaxes it. All of this happens without him ever really noticing--though it has been pointed out to him before, and he is aware that it occurs.

As for loyalty, it comes with being his mother’s son. She was a kind and honorable woman, who lived by a many-faceted philosophy which she practiced like a religion. One of her tenets was "Respect of the Other." While this ultimately culminated in a marriage ritual, it went well beyond just the love and respect of one "other." He is always respectful to those he encounters, but especially so to those he views as close to him. While this is currently limited to an old grocer and a mangy cat, he does have a sharp and impassioned instinct to protect and serve them, and any other who could manage to break his shell.

History:

Late in August, Takami was born to a family of five, the youngest of three children. Later in life, his mother would swear that the fog had dissipated, just long enough for the sun to shine when he was born -- the truth of that is left up for debate. Takami lived a relatively normal life as a child, though the nature of his family left him largely in solitary from any who were not blood--his father was always extremely paranoid, and his mother too willing to accommodate. His childhood was generally rough, and involved a lot of chastisement, even at an age as young as five, so Takami and his siblings would often find places to hide while they played, leaving them safe from trouble and the adults to their peace and quiet. It's in this tradition that Takami found his knack for climbing -- often reaching attics, rafters, and other hard-to-reach heights while seeking solace from a stern father.

When Takami turned eight years old his mother got lost--metaphorically speaking. That's what the adults said--she got lost. There was a lot of commotion around that time, and one of the neighbors disappeared. It was years later that Takami discovered the truth about the whole situation. The neighbor who disappeared, Daisuke Sonkei, was a family friend of his mother’s. He wanted her to do things for him that were dishonorable and wrong, and she refused. There was a witness--a young shinobi who had been training late into the night. She claimed that Daisuke grew angry, and demanded those things from her. Takami's mother refused, and even attempted to fight back. The fight was ceased just as it began, when Daisuke struck her with a blade hidden in his cane. She fell, bleeding from her eyes where the cane had struck, and he fled.

Takami's mother lost her sight that night, and with it most of her sanity. From that point forward, his mother spent the majority of her life sitting, blankly, in a chair in their house. She follows the movements of people and objects that cross her path, but says nothing, responds to nothing. It became a family affair, taking care of her, and at first it was working very, very smoothly. Takami's father, however, was obsessed with the story of it. He couldn't understand, not really. It became too much for him.

As the youngest of the family, the bulk of the responsibility never rested on Takami, but he always did everything he could. When he wasn't training or sleeping, he was doing everything he could to help Li and Biyu--his older brother and sister. Biyu took on the position as head of the household, being the oldest and most capable. She became everyone's caretaker, and soon gave up everything else. She had no time for training--only night and morning meditations.

Eventually, the household became too much for Takami. He was beginning to grow paranoid, listening to his father day in and out, and to watch his sister waste away was killing him. So, he fled the house in the hopes of finding a new place to live, leaving his family behind. Takami was able to find a kind old man who provided him with a room to stay in and enough money to keep him going until he could start getting paid. It was difficult for him, at first, but it got easier. He made few friends in the village. Takami spent two years catching up on what he had been unable to truly learn while in his household.

Only, a year into his new life he thought he saw a face he recognized around town. An old man that looked a little too like Daisuke to be a coincidence. Instantly, Takami saw images of his mother before she got lost, and then he saw her sitting in her chair, practically comatose. Takami screamed and ran for his house. He didn't stop, didn't consider the commotion, until he was home and able to meditate. It was around then that the nightmares set in--dreams of Daisuke hunting him down, taking his sight like he did his mother’s. He grew paranoid, afraid that Daisuke was coming for him, for his mother, for his family.

Takami decided that he would hatch a plan to keep himself safe. He left his house with a pouch full of money and headed to the open market. There he found a travelling merchant selling clothing. Takami looked for quite a while before he found something suitable -- a disguise that would keep him hidden. It was made of silk, and covered him entirely, leaving only his head and face revealed. For that he picked up a wide-brimmed hat with cloth on it. He paid his entire month's salary for the disguise. The hunger pains were worth the sense of security.

The only thing I need to do is perform a name change on you because your character name needs to match your account name. Did you want me to change you name to Oshiro Takami?

Also, just so you know (in case is alters any of your descriptions), presently Sunagakure is underground and has been for the last 30 years because of a terrible sandstorm (that is about to go away) on the surface. People do live up there, but on the borders of Wind Country and it is very dangerous up there (in case that in any way adds to your story).

Name changed to Oshiro Takami. Remember to use that for your log in details instead of Verdant. A Sand Council member will take it from here.

Looking good. I like how you've mentioned your character's family as supporting characters. Maybe consider a family sigil? Not entirely necessary just something extra!

The Cabal event is coming to a close. Sand village is going through a transitional stage, which will determine our place in the future!
